Grocery Shopping!

Normally in my house I don't do the grocery shopping. Why? Simple, I suck at it! I went to the grocery the other day and spent $68 on NOTHING! I bought 2 bunches of bananas, 2 large containers of vanilla yogart, blueberries, raspberries, turkey, ham, colby cheese, swiss cheese, (all form the deli) candy for my sweet tooth and the girls, cigarettes, milk, 2 2-liters of diet pepsi, a salad from the salad bar, amyo, and ranch dressing! How did I spend $68??? I need to be the coupon queen like my sister! Grrr!

It doesn't matter what type of business you have, all businesses need certain things. They need your time, dedication, and a little TLC. On top of that though you have to find cheap credit card processing. In this day and age businesses can't survive without excepting credit cards. There's not many people who actually carry cash! I know I don't! Keep in mind the ability to accept credit cards is one thing you can't afford not to have!

Today I took some time to review my bills and the money I have coming in. I know how much money I would like to have in my savings, but I'm not sure how much I can actually make myself save. I have this insane shopping addiction and it has only grown from working at home! I decided to make a point of giving myself an allowance from now on. I have to build my savings instead of watching it get lower and lower! That's why I want to hear from you all! How much money do you allow yourself to spend each week? There are numerous benefits to working at home. Before I actually started working from home full time, I thought I's be able to get everything including the housework done in a normal 8 hour day. That was my motivation. It doesn't work like that but working from home does have many benefits.

Can you imagine starting and maintaining a business outside of the home? You would need to buy things like industrial equipment supplies and pay for a leased building. You don't have any of those expenses at home. Plus you also save on gas and the wear and tear on your vehicle. You can set your own hours. That alone is a huge plus for me! What benefits do you love about working at home?

I was recently at a forum I visit regularly and we were discussing our at home jobs. A lot of us put in more hours currently than we would have ever thought about putting in at our so called "real" jobs. We discovered that we get obsessed with working and it's not because we need the money, but because we actually enjoy what we do. I have never enjoyed a job in my life until I became a full time writer. That's why I want to take a poll: for those of you that work at home, do you love your work at home job? or is it just another job?

It seems that each year we wait until the last minute, try to scrounge up money, and fight the crowds to find the gifts we want to give. Now is the time to start saving though. Enough time has past that you should have the Christmas credit cards bills paid, if not, shame on you! :)

Being a Kid is Not as Much Fun as it Once Was!

When I look at the girls now, I think abut how different their lives are than mine was when I was their age. Of course, they have their own interests and they have great lives, but being a kid used to be so much fun. When I was a kid there wasn't nearly as much homework, we rode bikes without any safety equipment, and we stayed outside from the time we woke up until the street lights came on!

Today's children grow up too fast. As parents, we want to protect our children, but we need to be saving money on all of the fancy electronics and toys. We need to let our kids run free and play. Let them climb trees like we did. We fell and we survived! What do you think moms?

You Can Never Have Enough Memory Cards!

You would think as many memory cards as I have around the house, I would be able to find one when I need it, right? Anymore any electronic you have uses some type of memory card. Most of the things I own use the MicroSD cards which makes it easier when I need to buy cards because everything uses the same thing. Recently, I had ordered a bunch of memory cards. I wanted to get them with more space. I had ordered enough of them to use in my camera, the 3 Nintendo DS's we have, and my Blackberry. For some reason my Blackberry ended up without a memory card in it and ALL of the St. Patty's day pictures I took of the girls are gone! From now on, my camera will be in my purse at all times!

I have been in numerous office building that have wall fountains and I think they are so cool. I think I want one in my home. The sound of running water will bring a little peace and calming feeling to the room. That should be reserved just for doctor's offices, right? I probably watch a little too much of the decorating shows on TV, but even if it may not be considered the "proper" thing to do, I still want it! Is it Time to Quit Your Job?

It took me long time to know when it was the right time to quit my job. Seeing the exit signs aren't always easy. For me when I switched from blogging work to writing articles my work load became a lot fuller. That was my sign that I could probably quit working my "real" job and concentrate only on writing. It's different for each person though. The best advice I can give you though is there is never a time that it won't be a scary transition. You are losing your security blanket. If you are generating enough income from home to compensate for your paycheck, then take a chance. You might surprise yourself and be a lot happy without the so called "security" blanket.

I have always wanted to visit New York city. Now that spring is here are baseball season is in, I would love to take a trip there. I am a huge Yankees fan and would love to get some New York Yankees tickets. For me it would complete trip to New York. The problem? Working at Home with Sick Kids

Adjusting to my work at home schedule has taken its toll. I am completely out of sync with anything that could be considered a normal schedule. I tend to sleep all day and work all night. Enter, sick kids. Of course, when the girls are home I have to be up all day and sleep at night. They have this horrible cold that has been going around and I haven't gotten any sleep in a week. Today I slept until 3pm and I'm still pretty out of it! I'm hoping to get a lot of writing done this evening ans hit the bed early. That why I can start getting my schedule back on track! Have I e er told you guys how LAZY working at home makes me? I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I seem to want to work all night and sleep all day! Today it's beautiful out, all my friends are off work and drunk because it's St. Patty's day, me I slept..... until 3pm! Now don't get me wrong I was up half the night working, but I'm soooo mad I slept this beautiful day away! Tonight, goal or no goal, I'm going to bed at a decent hour and getting back on schedule. I'm done saying I'll deal with it tomorrow. My summer days at the pool will easily fade away if I stick to this schedule!
