2010 Harvest Festival at St. Isidore Church

This weekend I will be at St. Isidore Church, in Danville, CA for the 2010 Harvest Festival. The event is Sunday, October 17th from 9 am- 2:30 pm. It will be a fun day of great family entertainment and will include free carnvial rides, music, food and beverages for purchase, a cake walk and much more! Mama's Halloween Collection

I'm so excited to introduce my Halloween Collection! These are "SPOOKtacular" little pendants to show your Halloween spirit. There are 4 different pendants and each one has a shimmery dichroic image on a black background. The pumpkin is a deep orange, the ghost is a "BOO-tiful" blue, the cat is a bright green and the spider is red. They each measure approximately 3/4" x 3/4" and hang from a sterling silver bail. Hope you are as batty for them as I am!

29th Annual Harvest Wine Celebration

This coming weekend I will be at Garre Vineyards and Winery for the 29th Annual Harvest Wine Celebration in Livermore. The event is Sunday, September 5th and Monday, September 6th from 12-5 pm. Many of the wineries will have music, arts and craft vendors as well as food vendors. It is a very fun event and the weather is going to be great. If you have a chance to spend a day enjoying our local wineries please make sure to stop by Garre and say Hello!

I just wanted to share a new item I've added to Mama's product line - bracelets!!! I have been wanting to make these for some time and finally did it. Are these fun or what?? I'm really happy with how these have turned out. Hope you like them to!

The blue dichroic bracelet has various shades of blue and each piece is sparkly! It's very pretty in person -pictures don't do it justice.

The orange and black one is great to wear for Halloween. And, it is a great way to show your support for our local high school and youth football/cheer teams - their colors are orange and black!!

The bracelets are 7.25" long and sell for $49. Bracelets are also available in 8.2" and sell for $55. If there is a special color combination you would like please let me know!

San Ramon Art & Wind Festival 2010

I've been in my studio the past couple weeks getting ready for the San Ramon Art & Wind Festival - which is this weekend!! The Festival is from 10 am - 5 pm, Sunday & Monday (May 30th & 31st). My booth should be located in the section along Alcosta Boulevard. I'm looking forward to another year at the festival. Last year was a lot of fun and a huge learning experience.

As I said, I've been busy in my studio and have lots of new pieces. I'll try to post a sneak peak of some of the new glass I've been working with - it's really fun!!

Rockin' Rackfest 2009

Mama Jewels will be at the Alameda County Fairground this Saturday, June 20th for the Rockin' Rackfest - a fun filled day to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. Please check out the link to find out more about the event (click on the title). The event is free and parking is only $5!!! There will be a band, food, music and local vendors. It will be a lot of fun!!
I created a special pendant for breast cancer awareness - it is the pink sparkly awareness ribbon. I will post a picture tomorrow. Hope you can stop by!!!

San Ramon Art & Wind Festival

Mama Jewels will be at the San Ramon Art & Wind Festival this Memorial Day weekend!! For the past couple years I have been thinking of attending as an artist and finally sent in my application for the 2009 event. I'm very excited to be at the Festival - my family has been going for years and it is going to be fun to have the opportunity to present my fused glass jewelry to more people. The event is Sunday and Monday from 10-5. Please try to stop by and check out my collection - I have been busy creating pieces with new some glass!! Very cool stuff. New Items - Bear Paw / Claw

Hello! I can't believe its been 5 months since my last post - I need to get used to this whole idea of blogging!

The summer flew by and I have lots of things to share. I was busy this summer enjoying the summer with my family as well as creating some new pieces. In particular, I created a Bear Paw/Claw piece that works perfectly with the California Bears of San Ramon and California High School (our local high school). I had one of my glass vendors do a custom etching of the bear paw/claw. I have pendants in two sizes as well as earrings. The bear paw/claw is available in two versions - a black paw and an orange paw. The large bear paw/claw pendant ranges in size from approximately 3/4" x 3/4" to 1" x 1". The small bear paw/claw pendant is approximately 1/2" x 1/2". Earrings are the same size as the small bear paw/claw pendant. Sterling silver snake chains and black leather necklaces are available in the following lengths - 13 1/2", 16" and 18". Mama Jewels Fused Glass Jewelry in the Miss USA goody bag!

I have been very busy the past couple of weeks firing pieces for the Miss USA goody bag. I was asked to participate in this event AND I'm the exclusive jeweler in the goody bag! All 52 contestants will receive the Capri pendant, 18" sterling silver chain and a gift certificate for matching earrings. The celebrity judges will also receive a goody bag in addition to Donny & Marie (they are hosting the event). In Touch Magazine and the Tyra Banks show will each have a giveaway of the goody bag so make sure to check out the Tyra Banks website so you can enter to win the bag -also known as "swag." I'm not sure which In Touch issue it will run in - however when I find out I'll post it on this blog. A Press Release is going out tomorrow and will have more info - I'll make sure to add a link to the release.

Mama Jewels Fused Dichroic Glass Blog

I'm so excited to start a blog for Mama Jewels! I have enjoyed creating my fused dichroic glass jewels and look forward to sharing my creations with more people. I have had so much fun growing my business and have had some wonderful support from fabulous friends.

In the next week or two I will be releasing my new, updated website - I'm so excited!!! The website has a whole new look and new jewelry pieces.

Okay, here's a little about my business...I create fused dichroic glass jewelry and wine charms in my home studio. I make pendants, earrings, rings and wine charm sets with fused glass. Most of my pieces are made with dichroic glass. It is so much fun combining different glass and then seeing the finished product. There have been a few times I've taken a piece out of the kiln and it didnt' turn out at all like I thought it would - it turned out better!

The blog world is new to me and I looking forward to sharing my thoughts, experiences, inspirations, etc. as Mama Jewels evolves.
