I love the vibrant colours of Kate Quinn Organics the baby clothing company from America. Founded by Hollywood stylist Kate Quinn who wanted to produce soft and kind baby clothes which still looked funky. Her simple two-tone colour schemes really deliver and I can vouch for the gorgeous quality of the fabric.

This infant sleep sack is perfect for a new baby. The same idea as a baby grow but without the legs which means your baby’s legs are still next to each other. As the bottom is open nappy changing (especially at night) is made easy and far quicker than wrestling with poppers. The arms even have built in mitts to stop scratching or keep little fingers warm. It comes in a generous size 0 - 3 months and as there are no ‘feet’ it will last until little toes poke out of the end. I absolutely love these and can see Boo II practically living in one! They are £16 and come in six colours: petrol blue (pictured), vanilla, fuschia, violet, khaki brown and blackberry.

As Mama to be Goodies will be taking a break over Christmas this week’s journal has a couple of extra weeks.

Ok, so I know the pregnesia is seriously kicking in as I should have posted this yesterday but I forgot it was Wednesday! My brain seems to be shutting down and I find myself coming out with very odd things indeed. The other day I was telling a friend about the wrapping paper that ToddlerGeek and I had been making and she said she wished she could have some. I replied: ‘Don’t hold you breath.’ instead of: ‘Don’t give up hope.’ - how mortifying! I couldn’t even explain why I had said it. Last time towards the end words just seemed to drop out of my head - at one point I spent days trying to remember the word ’smuggler’ although I have no idea why.

Christmas shopping while pregnant is challenging. I am totally lacking in inspiration so apologies in advance to those of you who get something dodgy. Not only am I finding thinking up gifts difficult but going out to shop is physically wearing. I’m getting some SPDand the muscles under my enormous bump are feeling the strain. It’s fine as long as I sit down lots but that does not help me get the shopping done! I should have done it all online but then I would have missed the obligatory Christmas shopping lunch out…

I am very grateful the midnight sexual frustration was short lived and I am back to mostly uninterrupted sleep. Mostly, as of course there is no avoiding the odd trip to the loo. I have also topped up with a couple of sneaky naps on the weekend which I has certainly helped my energy levels.

With Christmas looming I’m on the hunt for a slinky dress for going out in. I love this Jersey Wrap Bust Dress from ASOS for the bargain price of £27.41. Teamed with some coloured maternity tights I think it will be just the business.

Just in time for Christmas two of my friends have their babies. First come a set of twins and then a little girl two days later. We had the older brother of one of the new arrivals to stay while his sister was on her way. As the updates were coming through from the maternity ward ToddlerGeek and her chum, the Child Genius, were jumping around and laughing like it was Christmas morning. I have to say I was quite lost in the excitement and completely over emotional. New babies are the best and I can’t wait to have a hold!

Sporty Spice was sporting the gorgeous J-Lo Style Pleated Swing Maternity Coat we featured from ASOS. I wonder if she was inspired after seeing it here….

With it’s two tone colour blocks of black and purple this dress are striking. The waist is high to maximise your bump. It has slightly flared half sleeves which sit below the level of the waist. I love the v-neck and scoop back. It is made from 100% viscose which produces a very fine knit. All in all I’m loving this for its comfy glamour. Available in sizes 8 - 16.

I’ve passed the five month mark and am feeling well and truly pregnant. It’s definitely a good feeling. When Boo II kicks you can see my tummy jump around which is highly amusing.

I had a bit of a surprise this week when I had some braxton hicks contractions. At least I knew what they were this time, when I was pregnant first time I thought they were odd panic attacks. I get them if I walk around too much and most evenings. If it’s anything like last time I expect I will get them almost daily until the end. I remember wondering how I would ever know I was in labour if I had these ‘practice contractions’ all the time. The answer was simple: when the time came I knew.

Lots of other bits and bobs occurring. My hair is feeling full and silky which I shall enjoy for as long as it lasts (not long enough). Another repeat from last time is chloasma which is when your skin pigment changes and you get the odd dark patch. Now this is the annoying thing: one of my nipples has turned brown and the other is still pink! How annoying is that? I’m sure they will both turn in time but right now I look a bit weird.

The latest, and frankly most frustrating, development happens at night. I was well prepared for the night waking and difficulty getting back to sleep - that is just one of those things. What I was not ready for was waking up in the middle of the night, erm, seriously turned on. I have no idea why or what to do - well obviously I had a few ideas about what to do but PapaGeek says he would prefer sleep over sex at 3am. So, with no better ideas, I try to think pure thoughts and get back to sleep.
