Exploring Liteverse.io: The first NFT marketplace on the Litecoin network with my first collection dedicated to the Mighty Mia Event #dancingforjoy + Quick Sign up and funding tutorial

As one true OG Litecoin enthusiast, I wanted to test the site, or better, the NFT marketplace Liteverse.io since its launch in 2022. At first, I claimed Litecoin Summit collectors NFT. But, for several reasons, the test of minting my first NFT got a bit delayed. But now I finally have the time and the need to make use of it for a larger cause.

I am sad I procrastinated a little. As it would have been a great honor to be the first one to give it a try, but given my lack of technical skills to use just code to mint outside of a marketplace, waiting was a great idea since the site is super user-friendly and it's quality has improved considerably. I would say Liteverse.io is ready for the mainstream. Minting on it or acquiring an NFT on the Litecoin network is now a Piece of cake!

In this article I will describe my experience, the reason why my first series of NFTs was created, and most importantly the advantages and disadvantages of creating an nft (Non-fungible Token) or an nft series in the Litecoin blockchain. I will do my best to be biased as I have tried several NFT blockchains before such as Enjin, Ethereum as well as Wax among others, but it will not be hard to see that I do have a big preference for the Litecoin proof of work network. It has great bones.

So let's first start talking about Litecoin. According to Investopedia: "Litecoin (LTC) is a cryptocurrency created from a fork in the Bitcoin blockchain in 2011. It was initially designed to address the developer's concerns that Bitcoin was becoming too centrally controlled and to make it more difficult for large-scale mining firms to gain the upper hand in mining. While eventually unsuccessful in preventing enterprise miners from taking over the lion's share of Litecoin mining, the cryptocurrency has reworked itself into a minable coin and a peer-to-peer payment system."

Similar to Bitcoin Litecoin use the proof of work mining method, but it is much faster and much cheaper to transact. Recently Litecoin code has been improved and pushed out by developers to allow smart contracts to give life to NFTS and many other possibilities in one of the most secure blockchain networks in the world.

Some of the advantages of minting an NFT on the litecoin are:

1. Security - The Litecoin Network has been active for over 11 years. Using script algorithm and joining mining with dogecoin, the network has never been down. The cost for a 51% attack in the Litecoin Network is extremely high making it one the most secure blockchain networks available.

2. Speed - The Litecoin Network is fast. With a larger supply than Bitcoin and a block being generated every 2.5 minutes, we can say that Litecoin is Bitcoin improved for efficiency and that can be easily felt when minting or acquiring an NFT. It is fast and effective.

3. Cost - One of the best advantages of them all is cost. It is extremely inexpensive to transact in the Litecoin network and unlike ethereum, which has the smart contract coded in its main layer for example, the Litecoin network remains Lite with a second layer smart contract coded into it similar to the lightning network. even when congested we can expect to mint an NFT for fractions of cents rather than hundreds of dollars that we normally encounter in ethereum marketplaces such as Nifty or Open Sea.

In my opinion the advantages are easy to pinpoint for someone very familiar with comparing networks

What are the disadvantages?

1. Popularity - while ethereum possesses the competitive advantage of being the first smart contract network, Litecoin has been lagging behind several promising proof-of-stake networks. Famous ethereum killers such as ADA, polygon, and Wax have been developing cool sites, features, and marketplaces and we can see that the market is very well developed in those spaces it will take time for artists and creators alive to recognize the pros of transferring their pieces into the Litecoin network.

2. Lack of mainstream artists - Given the reason above the Liteverse.io site still lacks a variety of artists, creators, and consumers and it will take time for it to get some traction. Some artists take pride in being on The Ethereum network for example and being able to sell their high-end pieces with transfers that are unaffordable to mainstream consumers, while others simply are distracted by so many options in existence right now. Time will tell which networks will survive but given its stability chances are Liverse.io will survive and grow as more people enjoy the perks of the Litecoin network.

And that's why I decided to establish myself as a creator on the Liverse.io site. I wanted to be one of the pioneers there in the same way I was one of the first to acquire an NFT from Enjin, one of the first to mint an NFT on Open Sea, and one of the first to make use of Wax. For me testing platforms is a great way to feel how they will evolve and I do plan to place a lot more focus on liverserve.io than any other marketplace I played with before I sure hope that other litecoin NFT marketplaces pop up and become compatible with it as well, the same way Nifty is compatible with Opensea on ethereum blockchain. I want to see the Litecoin NFT marketplace flourish and expand making it affordable for any creator to take advantage of the security, speed, and low cost that only the Litecoin network can provide.

What a fabulous week for crypto! Bitcoin went up from 16K to 21 K, and several alt-coins either started the race or followed suit. While this increase is an indication that the market is not dead. It is too soon to confirm that the bull market has returned. However, a clear indication that the market has consolidated, and volume is bound to come back.

As of now, it is pivotal to stay connected with the news and understand what type of headlines can affect the market. Bankrupting exchanges, large hacks, and hikes in US Federal Reserve interest rates are among some factors that have a direct effect on how the markets behave. The shake of 2022 was real. It crashed several institutional players and with it emptying the hands of millions of retail investors. The investors that do come back will eventually "come back" more educated about self-custody and decentralized finance.

Trust is built, but a greedy market comes in waves and they do not always coincide. When the market drains, value and liquidity are low, we see the failure of so many institutions, projects, and networks that were never meant to flourish in the first place. For the next Bull Run... My best recommendation is to stick with what works, or pick your winners wisely!

If you are reading this post, congratulations. You have survived the 2022 bear market! Happy new year to you.

We may be far from another bull run, however after so much FUD the market is bound to bounce back at some point this year or the next. After significant dips, the cryptocurrency market tends to lateralize. And that's what I expect for a good part of 2023 unless we see another dip caused by macroeconomic conditions.

It is just a matter of time, and patience is key during these times.

On another note, after the bear market is over you will realize how many projects you felt had substance during the bull run simply disappeared. An ecosystem that expands with every bull run, and shrinks every bear run. The rate of survival is low so pick your gems wisely.

For me, it is all about fundamentals. The fundamentals are security, scalability, reliability, and decentralization. How many cryptocurrencies have a good balance of them all? Not many actually!

In fact, in 2017 I invested in several altcoins, where many were simply a concept, without a product. They seemed like great value propositions on paper but not in the real world. That's one of the reasons why I do not diversify much. I lost money on most and I stick with value propositions that have survived the market long enough: One example: Bitcoin

Interview with David Chaum about his new Privacy Solutions

During the Consensus 2022 conference, I had the pleasure to interview one of the most significant figures in crypto: The one and only David Chaum.

David Chaum is an American computer scientist, developer, cryptographer, and inventor. And since then, He dedicated a lifetime to creating solutions to combat the surveillance state and protect digital privacy.

One solution that inspired the birth of Bitcoin and blockchain technology was the invention of E-cash, also known as Digicash. Other solutions that he developed are vault systems, blind signatures, and mix networks. A full suite of solutions that enables him to take his work even further. Currently, as noted on his site: "David is currently leading xx network, a completely private, quantum-secure decentralized messaging and payment platform". He continues to innovate, and in this interview, we will be focusing on his latest developments, a privacy media platform XX Elixxir, and the reasons why quantum resistant privacy solutions are necessary for tomorrow's society.

Esta semana, o mercado de criptomoedas deu outro mergulho e foi marcado por manchetes suculentas. Como as taxas de juros nos EUA subiram novamente, as pessoas reagiram de acordo. Além disso, o CEO da FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, finalmente foi pego nas Bahamas. E desde então, surgiram dúvidas sobre a prova de fundos da Binance. A exchange continua a fazer malabarismos com uma onda de retiradas, ao mesmo tempo em que mostra uma forte fachada para a mídia.

O ambiente está muito delicado agora. O mercado experimentou uma recuperação positiva na semana passada com os preços do Bitcoin acima de 18K. Mas eventualmente deu outra queda impulsionada pelo baixo volume em geral nas exchanges e a alta dos juros nos Estados Unidos.

This week the cryptocurrencies market took another dip and was marked by juicy headlines. As interest rates in USA hiked a again, people reacted accordingly. In addition, FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried finally got caught in the Bahamas. And since, questions have risen about Binance proof of funds. The exchange continues to juggle a wave of withdraws, while showcasing a strong front to the media.

The environment is very delicate right now. The market Experienced a positive recovery last week with Bitcoin prices going above 18K. But it eventually took another dip driven by low volume in general in exchanges.

On a positive note, while exchanges are getting shaken, there was a large increase in sales for hardware wallets across the board. Trezor, for example, recorded a 300% sales increase in November 2022. And that is mainly being driven by people seeking security and self custody.

Regardless of what happens to exchanges; Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and true decentralization will prevail.

If you want to educate yourself about Bitcoin you found the right list! One of the best ways to learn about bitcoin and blockchain technology is through movies, and there are several out there that I recommend. Most of them can be found on Netflix, Amazon Prime or Youtube. So get your popcorn ready and enjoy my list of Top 5 Bitcoin movies.

1. Banking on Bitcoin - In open source we trust.

One of the first documentaries about Bitcoin to be released to the mainstream ever, Banking on Bitcoin captures what happened in the early years of Bitcoin up until its release in 2016. The movie is rich with interviews from early adopters such as Eric Vorhees, Elizabeth Stark, Barry Silberman, Charlie Lee, Charlie Shrem among others, and reflects on the revolution that has started since it's code was mainly created and released into the universe by Satoshi Nakamoto.

2. Cryptopia

Released in 2020 Cryptopia dives directly into the crypto ecosystem. It looks into the history and the functionality of Bitcoin and it's blockchain ledger system while showcasing the crypto revolution that followed the development of Bitcoin and the introduction of the Altcoins. The documentary explains a few topics that have emerged in the industry such as the creation of smart contracts, the rise of the ICOs, the diference between Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash as well as several fallacies of this growing industry. Já faz muito tempo desde que postei nossas notícias semanais sobre criptomoedas. Eu estava tão ocupada com meu trabalho diário que não conseguia encontrar tempo para abrir meu laptop pessoal. Caramba! Mas graças ao SAM, você vai me ver mais novamente. Sim, como todo mundo, eu culpo o Sam da FTX pelo fato de eu ter sido dispensada, hehe. Mas, na verdade, há uma correlação direta entre eu perder minha posição de especialista em canal de marketing da Bybit Exchange. Deixe-me dizer-lhe... desde o desastre da exchange FTX, as exchanges centralizadas do mundo inteiro, estão perdendo seu volume de negociação e, portanto, demitindo muitos funcionários. E eu sou apenas uma daquelas pessoas que estão chegando ao mercado de trabalho mais uma vez.

Mas não sejamos pessimistas, estou gostando de ter tempo livre para minha família neste fim de ano, tempo para me dedicar a vários projetos pessoais que foram colocados em uma lista de desejos no porão e é o momento perfeito para entrar em contato com você novamente. Afinal, todo mercado em baixa traz várias lições aprendidas e nesse mercado em baixa não é diferente.

Para o futuro, espero que a auto custódia continue a se tornar uma tendência. Em 2018, todos nós nos gabamos "not your keys not your coins" (Sem de suas chaves, sem suas moedas), mas uma vez que o defi (finanças descentralizadas) surgiu e as exchanges encontraram maneiras criativas de atrair novos clientes com altos retornos, nfts e outros, as pessoas simplesmente esqueceram o princípio básico sobre as criptomoedas que é independência financeira.

Não confie em ninguém além de você mesmo, mas certifique-se de ser instruído o suficiente sobre isso antes de poder lidar com a tecnologia também. Não consegue manter uma senha segura? Isso é um sinal de que a criptomoedas talvez pode não ser para você agora. A curva de aprendizado das criptomoedas é curta para quem mantém a confiança em terceiros, mas para quem se educa o suficiente e aprende a dançar a dança da auto custódia, a vida ainda é uma FESTA.

Weekly Blockchain News with Mammycrypto Dec 10th 2022

It has been a long while since I posted our Weekly Crypto news. I was so busy at my daily job that I could not find time to open my personal Laptop. Yikes! But thanks to SAM, you will be seeing more of me again. Yes, like everybody else, I blame it on Sam from FTX for the fact that I got lay-off, hehe. But in fact there is a direct correlation between me loosing my Bybit Exchange Marketing Channel specialist position. Let me tell you... since the FTX debacle exchanges, all over the world, are loosing their trading volume and therefore laying off a lot of staff. And, I am just one of those folks out there hitting the job market once again.

But let's not be pessimistic, I am enjoying having free time for my family this holiday, to dedicate to several personal projects that got placed in a bucket list in the basement and it is just the perfect time to get in touch with you again. After all with every bear market comes several lessons learned and this bear market it is no different.

For the future I sure hope that self custody continues to become a trend. In 2018 we all bragged about not your keys not your coins but once defi (decentralized finance) came about and exchanges found a creatives ways to entice new clients with high returns, nfts and what not, people simply forgot the basic principle about crypto which is financial independence.

Trust no-one but yourself but make sure you get educated enough about it before you can handle the technology as well. Can't keep safe a password? That's a sign that crypto may not be for you just now. The crypto learning curve is short for those who maintain the trust in third-parties but for those who educate themselves enough and learn to dance the self custody dance, life is still a PARTY.

Hang in there, I will as well and with your support. I hope to shine more and dive into new crypto adventures to share with you.

What happened at the Litecoin Summit 2022 Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. The Litecoin Summit was a livestreamed event featuring some of the most important names in the cryptocurrency industry, while celebrating the recent innovations implemented in the Litecoin blockchain.

The event was cozy and intimate. Guests had the opportunity to mingle with the Litecoin Creator Charlie Lee. They learned to code with Litecoin Developers such as Loshan and David Burcket and also engaged in conversations with several big Players in the industry, such as Paul Puey creator and CEO of Edge Wallet, the team from Antpool, Bitpay, Get Hedge and many others.

It is clear that the industry is branching out into several niches, such as new payments systems, NFTs, decentralized finance, tokenization and the realm of possibilities continue to increase with every update, with every new idea sparked in events just like this one.

The highlight of the convention for me was learning the new capabilities of the Litecoin Network. The reality is some things that sounded like a dream, such as smart contracts and fungibility on the Litecoin network are now features that trendsetters have already begun to test and use.

To give you an example of the new applications developed in the Litecoin network, during the event a promotion invited the first 84 ticket holders to claim an NFT in the Liteverse.io NFT Marketplace.That showcases how some of these features are fully functional today. A big community, an environment where participants are fully motivated to engage, to exchange their knowledge and resources. Olá! É fim de semana, e o preço do Bitcoin finalmente subiu de uma queda recente abaixo de 19k. No entanto, o mundo ainda está caótico e é muito cedo para dizer que a tendência de baixa acabou. É importante se preparar para os altos e baixos. Os mercados de criptomoedas são realmente imprevisíveis.

Durante esse tempo, sempre tento lembrar a razão pela qual o Bitcoin foi criado em primeiro lugar. O Bitcoin foi criado para neutralizar as más políticas econômicas criadas pelos líderes mundiais na esperança de "CORRIGIR" os problemas que eles mesmos criaram. Bitcoin é uma alternativa que não pode ser manipulada em números. É finito e uma ótima ferramenta para quem prefere viver um estilo de vida alternativo e descentralizado. E quando eu digo FUD eu quero dizer isso. Venho fazendo esse slide há vários anos e sempre noto uma mudança no tom da mídia à medida que o preço muda. É como uma festa quando a corrida de touros está em andamento, apenas manchetes positivas e felizes sobre criptomoedas e, quando o mercado muda, o medo é real. Qual é o catalisador dessa mudança? E é isso que estou ansioso para saber e determinado a descobrir.

Hi there! It is Saturday, and the Bitcoin price is finally up from a recent drop below 19k. However, the world is still chaotic, and it is too early to say that the downtrend is over. It is important to prepare for the ups and downs. The Crypto markets are truly un-predicable.

During this time I always try to remember the reason why Bitcoin was created in the first place. Bitcoin was created to counteract the poor economic policies created by world leaders in hopes to "FIX" the issues they created. Bitcoin is an alternative that cannot be manipulated in numbers. It is finite and a great tool for those who prefer to live an alternative and decentralized lifestyle. However, its price at the moment continues to be affected by the same economic policies it is combating and that's why it is not the perfect tool against inflation just yet. I say that because several people purchased Bitcoin at its peak and for those people the loss is very real. However, for those who purchased it several years back and had the patience to stand the dips and the fluctuations of the market while still maintaining their Bitcoin Secure the hedge is REAL. For those, there is hope and trust in Bitcoin. I hope you get there too! Regardless of how much FUD there is the space.

And when I say FUD I mean it. I have been doing this slide for several years, and I always notice a shift in the media tone as the price changes. It is like a party when the Bull run is running, only positive and happy headlines about crypto, and then when the market shifts the fear is real. What is the catalyst for this change? And that's what I am eager to know and determined to find out.

O sentimento do Bitcoin para a semana está de volta ao medo extremo, caindo de 25 pontos ontem para 21 pontos hoje. O medo é real e é importante estar preparado para outro mergulho. O preço do Bitcoin está novamente abaixo de $20 mil dólares valendo US$ 19.777 hoje, conforme registrado no Coinmarketcap.com.

Nas notícias, continuamos a ver um grande foco nas mudanças regulatórias regionais e globais. A atualização do Ethereum, um Fork estranhamente apelidado de The Merge na minha opinião, também é uma manchete popular e os pagamentos de MT Cox e Celsius também são tópicos de interesse esta semana. Eu sou uma das pessoas que teve uma perda e sempre estou buscando me atualizar no progresso do caso na esperança de uma resolução positiva, que para mim só pode ser resolvida recuperando minhas criptomoeda pedidas.

Então é por isso que junto com as novidades vou compartilhar com vocês uma boa dica que aprendi muito cedo e na prática. Não invista o que você não está disposto a perder. Se você me perguntar se eu já perdi dinheiro investindo em criptomoedas, minha resposta é SIM de muitas e inúmeras maneiras. A única razão pela qual ainda estou no mercado é porque sabia dos riscos que corria, li as letras miúdas dos contratos e fui muito conservadora em todas as etapas do caminho. Então, apesar das perdas, ainda estou aqui porque ganhei mais do que perdi. Com o tempo, a experiência ajuda.

Bitcoin sentiment for the week is back to extreme fear, dipping from 25 points yesterday to 21 points today. The fear is real and it is important to be prepared for another dip. The price of Bitcoin is again laying below 20K at $19777 today as recorded on Coinmarketcap.com.

In the news we continue to see a big focus on regional and global regulatory changes. The Ethereum upgrade, a Fork oddly nicknamed The Merge in my opinion, is also a popular headline and payouts from MT Cox and Celsius is also a topic of interest this week. I am one of the folks who had a hit there and always catching up in hopes of a positive resolution which to me can only be resolved by getting my crypto BACK.

So that's why together with the news I will share with you one good tip that I learned very early in the game. Do not invest what you are not willing to lose. If you ask me if I ever lost money while investing in Cryptocurrencies my answer is YES in so many, almost countless ways. The only reason I am still in the game is because I knew the risks I was taking, read the fine prints, and was very conservative in every step of the way. So despite losses I am still here because I won more than I lost. Over time experience helps.

It has been a full month since my last weekly update. Since then the market scenario did not change much. Bitcoin and most altcoins continue to move sideways, with bitcoin settled between $19,000 and $24,000 for several weeks, now months. Overall the greed and fear index has gone up from extreme fear and in the last month to fear only, indicating that people are slightly more confident in the current market scenario than they were a few weeks back. What changed? Let's take a peak at the most relevant headlines of this week and figure out the most important topics to focus on. Less hacks going on? Any updates in crypto regulations in important countries around the world? Any inflation related policy change that could overall effect the global financial health?

I won a Trip to the edge of Outer Space! Let's go!

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since I was able to connect with you here in the blog but I must say some extra ordinary things are happening in my life. I am not sure how and why the universe has aligned this way but great things have been coming my way despite harsh market and environmental conditions. And I could not be more happy and grateful for all these amazing opportunities. This one is specific sound surreal but it is true. I won a trip to space and YES I am going. I won the trip while attending the NFT Exporverse conference in Los Angeles last month, July of 2022. To me it felt like one of those times when you are in the right place in the right time and the magic happens.

All of a sudden I was on stage receiving the incredible prize provided by Astraunaut World View. a trip to the edge of outer space, scheduled for the year 2024 leaving off of the Grand Canyon. This is the second I realized I won the ticket and was already up in stage. And yes I was so scared

But after a while excitement settled in and the more I learn about the trip the more thrilled about the experience I get.

Existe algo positivo sobre o "Bear Market" (Mercado de urso)?

Vejo muitas coisas positivas. É válido dizer que o preço caiu, mas a tecnologia não. Continua a evoluir e a trazer inovações que permitirão que esta indústria cresça ainda mais. Na extremidade inferior, os projetos que não são viáveis desaparecem e o mercado seca, deixando apenas projetos viáveis com potencial de crescimento futuro. O desenvolvimento não para.
