Product Review: Plaid Acrylic Craft Paints

I just can't say enough about how I love all the many craft products that Plaid Crafts can offer you.
The choices are just awesome, wheter your craft hobby of enjoyment is Decoupage, Stenciling, Needlecrafting,
painting or glass painting and more they have all the quailty supplies you will need to get the job done.
Product Review: Plaid Acrylic Craft Paints

The craft supplies I use on a daily basis in the free hand paintings & glass paintings that I create and sell are both there wonderful quailty paint brushes and acrylic paints. I have many of both in lots of colors and styles. They can offer you unique brushes that are made specifically for certain brush stroke effects. Some of the ones I use daily are the fan brush , liner brush and the angle brush. The angle brush is perfect for creating cabbage roses and leafs. The fan brush can let you create pretty leaf patterns. And the liner brush is very important to let me achieve outlining, lettering and tiny detail. The plaid craft paints I use daily are the acrylic paints that plaid offers in many brands and the two I like best are Apple Barrel and Folk Art. They come in differant size bottles and the size I buy and use that will last me forever, is the 2 ounce size bottle. It only takes a tiny dab of paint to do a big painting job. Because I use them in many ways depending on what technique I am using. I can use the paint on my choice style brush straight thickness, or add a tiny dot/dab of medium to it to make it thin an flow so easy (which is important if your painting onto a rough or textured structure like wood and metal. Or I can add water to the colors and use it in a watercolor effect. Which is what I did here in this craft I made. Which are wall sconces made from paper dollies, that I hand painted cabbage roses and greenery leaves onto by having my acrylic plaid paints water down very thin and it allows me to glide over the paper with out the paint soaking into and running through the thin paper. I used both the angle brush and liner brush to paint my scene onto the dollie. And by folding the dollie and then adding string beads to the bottoms , I simply taped them to my wall and added silk flowers to the inside, to complete my Shabby Chic room decore with my love of hand painted cabbage roses. I love the color choices that Plaid paint was so nice to send me for review. And the pinks and soft whites in the acrylic paints in the 2 ounce size were just perfect for my review craft projects. Here I painted the metal wall scalloped candle scones with the soft pink and then hand painted the two tone white and pink roses around the outer edge. Here sounds like a tasty reciepe drink to try, I love coconut flavor and who doesn't love chocolate!

Chocolate Snowball

Ingredients:

2 oz coconut rum
2 oz Irish cream
1 oz hazelnut liqueur
3 1/2 oz melted chocolate
3 1/2 oz cream
1 dash chocolate syrup

Preparation: Place the chocolate syrup around the glass then place the other ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into glass.

Craft Idea By Disney Family Fun "How To Make A Fabric Wall Book Sling"

As a seamstress, I just love discovering new ideas in how to use fabric to use in your home for both beauty & everyday use.
And one of the great perks of being an email newsletter subscriber to the great site of Disney Family Fun, you get to find out about all kinds of craft ideas.
And this fabric craft idea shared by Disney Family Fun I actually saw yesterday while waiting to see my Doctor and browsing through the magazines they had for viewing. So, I remembered the name of this craft and came home to look it up.
I will be making this very simple project very soon but I think I will use the idea in my master bathroom and let the Fabric Sling house my magazines. My master bathroom is Shabby Chic design in colors of soft pastel pink tones & light greens with Cabbage Roses, so I think a shorter Fabric Sling made out of either old vintage chenille fabric or a floral rose broad cloth would look so pretty displaying my magazines for guest to read.\
And my other bathroom has a western theme so a fabric wall sling in an old feed sack cloth fabric would fit right into that themes decor.
I can think of other uses for this great idea as well, like in my sewing room having 3 separate slings vertically on the wall and house all my sewing patterns in them.

Plaid Acrylic Paints Bring My Painted Holiday Themed Windows To Life

I have been as busy as a bee this week enjoying hand painting my old house wooden windows that I collect. And with winter here and these nippy brisk cold days right before Christmas, my theme I enjoyed painting today was Snowmen. As as always I love using plaid acrylic paints to bring my scenes to life. I love using both choices of Apple Barrel & Folk Art acrylic paints made by Plaid. I buy the small bottles which last so long, always giving me vibrant colors. I keep a big piece of card board placed down on my work shop table that I dab out small amounts of the paint colors onto and use lots of different size craft brushes by plaid in my painted design. Two of the plaid craft paint brush types I use most often are the 1/4" Angle brush & the 10/0 Liner brush. I just finished my Snowman Window today with a happy group of Snowmen enjoying the New Fallen Winter Snow. For depth and 3D effect of real snow I use the textured paint on the bottom of my paintings. As you can see by the photo my craft supplies are well used, which I have used so many times and I love buying more as I run out of a certain color. I buy my apple barrel and folk art acrylic paints at Ben Franklin or Walmart where they cost between 50 cent or $1.00 at great price for something that last for the many projects that I create. So of the prettiest items you can paint on for the holidays to display in your home are old wooden home windows, old house shutters, old mirrors, ice skates etc. These painted old windows look great in lots of areas for the holidays as decor like an entry hall way, in front of your fireplace, on on your porch with string lights behind it. So think outside of the box and put your plaid paints to use with lots of items to create yourself a seasonal item to display as decor for the Holidays. Do you love to paint as well? Are you a plaid product user like I am? I love all there products. They offer lots of stencils which I sometimes use, but mostly I free hand paint my own design from my minds eye. My real weakness in plaid products are there paints & brushes which I buy every chance I get, you can never have enough hehehe. November Means Craft Fairs For Me

I love seeing November come because that's when I go to the local craft fairs & sell my crafts that I have worked so long and hard on through the prior year. I usually share this passion with my oldest Sister who also loves to craft & she makes beautiful items. Our interest in crafts are different , though she does sew and does a great job at it too. Seamstress work has been my field for 33 years now, it's what I enjoy doing for extra income as well as hand paint. And for the craft fairs I begin very early in the year hand painting my items which takes a lot of time to finish.
We just finished up one of our craft fairs and I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a bigger crowd that showed up , which I think was due to poor advertisement and lack of parking. A lesson I learned is not to do a 1st time craft fair and to wait to see how they did then possible enter my items in the next years set up.
But, on a better note I did enjoy the day spent with my sister who I think the world of and meeting other crafters who all have such different fields of crafting ideas.
I thought I would share with my readers some of our craft fair item photo's. I love hand painting onto any item, in different themes, and my old hand painted windows were a big sale. I could of taken more & better photo's but got caught up in the fun of it all and never snapped as many shots as I should have.

Our Beautful Mountains are showing Fall's color's here in eastern Tennessee

Fall is my favorite time of year and we are so blessed to live in the eastern part of Tennessee where we get to enjoy cooler weather in the Fall and watch the blanket of colors that surround us. Last weekend hubby & I took a ride up to the mountains that we use to live on called Camp Creek Bald Summit - Tennessee Mountain Peak. And we actually lived on and owned land there that was part of the Appalachian Trail which was beautiful full of deers, black bears, linx (which I saw on my back porch once and was shocked and how big they were) and black panthers which I heard at times when they call out with that eerie call they make into the night time hours.
We grew apple trees there to enjoy, had beautiful flowers that thrived so well and enjoyed hummingbird's feeding upon them. And after our daughter married and moved out we decided to sell and move to the rural part of town. Where now we can sit upon my front porch and see the long spand skyline mountain peak beauty that use to live right in the heart of, which is just 15 miles from here.
Up on the mountain there are two choices once you get half way up there where we lived in which you can go on up too the Bald Mountain Peak or go across another mountain (called Green Mountain) then work your way back down to the base of those mountains back close to town.
It's such a beautiful sight to see while up there at mid point before you go across Green Mountain. There is a place that was donated for public enjoyment use by the "Dillards " Part of the Cherokke National Forest which has 3 ponds that each year they have free kids fishing day at. And we stopped by there first for a picnic by the ponds.

. Then we rode on across Green Mountain where we saw in full bloom wild flowers, sour wood trees and wild maple trees already starting to turn colors of golden yellow, burnt umber, and scarlet reds. And the view down upon our community is just an awesome sight to take in, with farm sites, grassy meadows, and our little historic town, all in one mix of visual beauty.
It's beauty to enjoy whether your up on the mountain looking out or down here on my front porch looking up into it. And as the trees turn more and more in autumns colors it will look just like a big rolling country patch quilt of many colors.
I can't wait to go back up to the top of Bald Mountain in October with our grandson on a day out with picnic planned which he has never seen before.

But that is what we face as a worldwide problem that is a wide spread issue right here in our own USA. And a company that I know and stand by called "Oneida LTD" just kicked off a Hunger Cause promotion on there Facebook page, where they have partnered up with "Sodexo" a Foundation, who helps fund programs all across the US to reduce hunger and malnutrition for children and families.
