Duplicate content issues occur with most dynamic content management systems. Mambo (and Joomla 1.0.x) both have issues due to the frontpage component, with frontpage content being able to be accessed through several different URL's. Last month, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and Ask.com launched a new meta tag that allows us to specify the canonical URL to be used on the Mambo front page. And here is how we do that...

On this Mambo Monday I show you how to integrate your Twitter status updates into Mambo by using the in-built core functionality of site modules. You can use this technique to display your latest updates from Twitter, Facebook, Friendfeed, or any social networking site that provides updates in an RSS feed.

Adding Google AdSense to a Mambo site doesn't require any third-party extension or knowledge of PHP. It simply requires two things - the AdSense code that you get through your Google AdSense account, and a new custom module.

If you are unsure how to create a custom module, don't worry because this article takes you step-by-step through creating it and using it to set up AdSense on your site.

In this tutorial we look at using a Mambo function called mosCountModules to display modules only when there is content within the module to display on your Mambo web site. This is particularly useful when you want to hide empty modules but want things such as banners, adverts, etc to display when there is something to display.
