Michael Carrick has been named Manchester United's Players' Player of the Year for the 2012/13 season. After having a brilliant season in the middle of the park, Carrick was expected to win this award.

Robin van Persie once again missed out to win the top award but he did at least pick up the Fans' Player of the Year gong as well as Goal of the Season for his strike against Aston Villa.

Manchester United - the new Barclays League Champions, paraded their trophy in Manchester last evening as the streets and buildings of Manchester were bedecked in red regalia.

Check out some of the best images from the evening as the players celebrated their success in bringing the famous silverware back to Old Trafford in style and displayed it on the open-top bus.

Italian striker Federico Macheda has joined VfB Stuttgart on loan for the remainder of the season. This comes after an agreement was reached between Manchester United and the Bundesliga club.

Macheda had earlier been loaned out to other clubs like Sampdoria and QPR. Playing in the Bundesliga will definitely be a great experience for the lad who has been United's leading goalscorer at <div class="feedflare">

Two first half goals from Wayne Rooney appeared to have handed Manchester United the win over their local rivals but a re-charged Man Shitty played some of the best football in the second half to make this match thrilling.

It was Robin van Persie, playing in his first Manchester derby, who stamped his name with a whipped free kick in stoppage time to hand United an impressive victory.

The transfer of Alexander Büttner to Manchester United had surprised lot of people. Not just fans and football pundits but even a few managers. After all, nobody saw it coming... but that's how Sir Alex likes to work in the transfer market.

In the past few years, Sir Alex has consistently bought in young players who shocked themselves by being bought by a club like Manchester United. <div class="feedflare">

Manchester United's bid to reclaim the Barclays Premier League title in 2012/13 will begin with a tough trip to Everton. The team that cost us the title last season is the one where we will being the quest for title # 20.
