If you’ve ever wondered why you should pray, or why God answers prayer, this sermon may be helpful.

Pastor Chris preaches from the story of Ruth.  In this small but important book we see through a window back to Israel during the time of the judges.  Here we witness the way that Israel under the Law of Moses addressed pressing social need through the kinsman-redeemer.  This wonderful story also helps us to understand the work of our kinsman redeemer — the Lord Jesus Christ.

At PCM, we pray for and look for the works of the Gospel.  Those works are seen in Acts 2:42-47.

But must we experience everything for ourselves to learn from experience?  Is it possible to learn from the experiences of others?  The wisdom literature of the Bible is predicated on the idea that it is.  And who better to learn from than Solomon?

Solomon was wise, and he has much to teach us about life.  But his wisdom is incomplete.  The wisdom contained in Ecclesiastes prepares us for someone greater than Solomon, someone whose wisdom compliments and completes the wisdom of Ecclesiastes.  As with the Law of Moses, the wisdom of Solomon finds its fulfillment in the Gospel of Christ.
