Hi Everyone!

Here is a nursery Rhyme about the days of the Monkey’s week.

After you learned Hanyu pinyin and the numbers from 1 to 10 in Mandarin Chinese, you can practice your Mandarin Chinese with this nursery Rhyme. Just follow the drum beat tempo and pronounce it with me. At the end of this video, you can review all the Monkey nursery Rhyme sentences in two pages.

Also, teachers and parents can play this video for students and children to help them become interested in learning to say the days of the week in Mandarin Chinese. Then show them the detailed explanation in the video as at the link below:
“Learn how to say the days of the week in Mandarin Chinese”

Rule 1: "Consonant + Vowel" pattern
Rule 2: The exception to Rule 1 (12 vowels that can individually represent the sounds of Mandarin Chinese characters)
Rule 3: 9 "Consonant + Vowel" combinations with unique pronunciation
Rule 4: 16 "Consonant + Vowel" combinations in which the two dots ( ¨ ) above the vowel symbol ü should be omitted
Rule 5: Where to put the tone mark on the consonant and vowel combinations

Before you learn the combinations of the consonants and vowels in the pinyin table, you need to learn the Chinese consonant and vowels at first.

There are 5 tones in Mandarin Chinese: first tone, second tone, third tone, fourth tone, and fifth tone.
In Hanyu Pinyin, each of these tones has an individual tone mark except the fifth tone which is the neutral tone and has no tone mark.

In this video, you can learn that each tone has a unique pitch value process and characteristic. And also, you can practice the tones with me. If you want more practice, you can also watch the other video "Tone Practice".
This is the Mandarin Chinese lesson about the vowels of Hanyu Pinyin phonetic system. Please study this lesson with the last video "Consonants" .

In the next video, I will introduce the Hanyu Pinyin Rules. In the next video, you will learn how to pronunce the Mandarin Chinese characters by the consonants and vowels.

I hope you can study these two lessons (consonants and vowels) well. Because it is the very basic knowledge but most important part for the pronunciation of Mandarin Chinese.

Please make sure that you can recognize and pronounce all the Pinyin symbols correctly .

For example, when you see the symbol "iu", "un" or "ong", you can pronounce it correctly without thinking.

Hope you can practice the vowels pronunciation as often as you can. Because to learn it well or not will have big influence on your Mandarin pronunciation. I hope you can have good pronunciation like native Chinese speakers.

See you next time.
My mother tongue is Mandarin Chinese and Taiwnese dialect. Some of my friends from Thailand and USA asked for me to teach them Mandarin Chinese online. Sometimes I think it is very hard to teach or explain some concept of Mandarin Chinese to them on MSN or by e mails. Therefore , I try to use the internet tools which are Facebook,Youtube and Blogspot to upload videos for my dear friends to learn Mandarin. It will be more convenient and clear by this way that you can see my face, listen to the pronunciation of Mandarin Chinese , and repeat the video if you still don't understand in some part in the video. Especially you can check it and learn it any time when you have available time. And also ,you can learn it at any places having the internet.

I am happy that finally I made this first Mandarin Chinese class for you. I will try to improve it and also hope you can really learn something from the videos I made for you. In the future , I will make more videos for those who are interested in learning Mandarin Chinese and have never learned Mandarin Chinese before.

I will design several classes for you to help you improve your Mandarin Chinese.
