Being a coffe lover, I tried this Thai Coffee Cream Shake from Soi Thai Restaurant last Friday night when I had my dinner there. I did not like it. It tasted like a rum more than coffee. I should have just ordered Thai Iced Tea instead of this Thai Coffee Cream Shake.

While waiting for my Green Curry Fried Rice with Fish Fillet to be served, I was given this Spicy Peanuts and Fried Wanton Wrapper as appetizer. It's free! But I did not really wait that long because their service was fast. Very good!

I finally got a chance to try this new Thai Restaurant at Mall of Asia. I had Green Curry Fried Rice with Fish Fillet (P188) for dinner last Friday night.

I've been to Thailaland a couple of times but I never had the chance to try a green curry fried rice. I like Thai Green Chicken Curry so I decided to order Soi's Green Curry Fried Rice with Fish Fillet. I did not regret it. The taste was good that you can actually eat it even without the fish fillet. But if you are not into spicy food, it's not for you.

I will visit Soi again, definitely. I will try their Phad Thai and see if it's any good, if it's better that Sen Lek's Phad Thai.

Dried Tawilis

On our way back to Manila from Caleruega, we stopped by at a fruit stand in Tagaytay City to buy fruits. I saw this Dried Tawilis and bought one pack for P90.00.

The last time I ate tawilis was when we went to Leslie's in Tagaytay more than a year ago.

Dinner at El Pollo Loco - Mexican Restaurant

Dinner yesterday night was at El Pollo Loco, a Mexican restaurant located at Mall of Asia in Pasay City. We ordered the 4-pc chicken combo.

El Pollo Loco's 4-pc chicken combo includes half chicken, 2 side dish, 4 pcs. tortillas and 2 salsa.

For side dish, we opted for spanish because we're really hungry. This P350 chicken combo is really good.

The place was full yesterday night and we actually have to wait to get seated. There is of course a reason why. You should try this restaurant.

Chicken Satay and Beef Rendang Combo - Martabak Cafe

Yesterday night I tried this Indo-Malay restaurant (Martabak Cafe) at SM Mall of Asia. I ordered Chicken Satay and Beed Rendang compo. It's only P199 and comes with iced tea and soup.

I liked the soup. The beef rendang and chicken satay were good too. Not bad for a P199 dinner.

Don Pepe Original Tablia | Tablea from Tacloban, Leyet

When Jean brought me last year this Moron from Leyte, I remember she was telling me about this tablea from Leyte. According to her, it's a 3-in-1 tablia in a sachet. I even corrected her with the spelling. But she insisted that it was really spelled as TABLIA. We actually search this tablia at SM Hypermart and other supermarkets but without luck.

Somebody from their province visited Manila recently and brought some Don Pepe Original Tablia. Well, it really was spelled tablia. :-)

When it comes to hot chocolate drink, I like it dark and strong. This Don Pepe Original Tablia is not bad, but I like more the cacao balls that a client from Cagayan brought me.

In Batangas, we also have what we call tablea tsokolate. And I must say, it's the best! :-)

Chic-Boy Scandal: A Break-Up letter from an Upset customer

A friend shared this "Chic-Boy Scandal: A Break-Up letter from an Upset customer" article on Facebook few days ago. Being a Chic-Boy patron, it caught my interest and read the article immediately.

Chic-Boy management said it's just a demolition job and they are planning to file a libel case.

Assuming the incident actually happened, Chic-Boy obviously mishandled the situation. How hard is to apologize? The libel case strategy I think would do more damage on their image.

They have a branch near our office in Dagupan City which have just opened few months ago. I visit our Dagupan Office every Monday and I can no longer count how many times I've dined at Chic-Boy Dagupan since it opened. I really like Chic-Boy, more than Mang Inasal.

Will I visit Chic-Boy again after this scandal?

Of course I will. I just hope that Chicboy learn something from this and improve their customer service and food preparation process.

Cacao Balls | Panday na Ybanag

Mr and Mrs Bisquera visited our office yesterday to get their Canadian PR Visa and brought me this Cacao Balls. They are from Cagayan and they are the one who brought gave me the Teano Alcala Milk Candy (made from carabao milk).

Two small cacao balls in one cup of boiling water seems to be the perfect formula for this cacao balls.

Mr. and Mrs Bisquera will be moving to Canada on February 2012. Soon enough, they would be able to process Super Visas for their parents and grandparents.

I was at the Sisters of Mary School last Friday for the Eucharistic celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for some students. I was one of the sponsors. We were treated to a sumptuous lunch after the mass.

This tarte tarin is one of the desserts. It was prepared by the students who were undergoing a culinary arts training.

It's my first time to taste it and in fact had to ask one of the students what is this dessert called. Tarte Tarin according to her. I liked it!

Creamy Chicken Sopas

This is my first try to cook a chicken sopas. I looked for chicken recipe online and found one from Shai Coggin's blog.

I followed her recipe with a little twist to make it a creamy chicken sopas. Even creamier than Jollibee's Creamy Macaroni Soup. I used elbow macaroni instead of shell pasta. I'm not really sure hat difference it would have made.

My neighbor liked it! I guess it's good. :-)

I treated PIA Corp Mall of Asia Team to lunch yesterrday at Mongkok Mall of Asia branch. Vangie requested this shrimp broccoli. It went well with fried chicken, crispy pata and crap and corn soup.
I like beef broccoli more though. :-)

Tropical Depression Falcon brought too much rain that caused flood in various parts of Metro Manila. But it's business as usual at our Mall of Asia office. In fact, we'll be staying in the office until 10pm!

Jean was craving for champorado (sweet chocolate rice porridge) so with the help of mighty Google, I searched for restaurants in Mall of Asia that serve champorado. Who would have thought that Tapa King also serves Champorado?! It's a pleasant surprise! :-)
