TM Masters - True Talent Cup

TM Masters will be hosting a special event on Saturday June 1st called the True Talent Cup.

The mode for the cup is a KnockOut format where the last player in every round will be knocked out and the last remaining player will be the victor. What's also special about the format is that no one will see the maps prior to the start of the cup, meaning everyone will be untrained coming into the cup.

Here's all you need to know:

When: One day event, Saturday June 1st 2013
Time: Starts 18:00 CEST ends 20:00 CEST
Game: TMNF
Cupmode: KnockOut
No practice beforehand
1 player gets knocked out each round
Respawn is allowed
4 different maps. Style: easy Tech, approx 35-45 seconds long.

The cup will be streamed and casted by Acer|frostBeule on his stream.

District-Prague : Prague Arena!

We saw last week that District-Prague was hosting a ShootMania : Storm LAN party. They are now hosting a bigger cup on 20-21 Jully! With 3000 Euros as a price pool, and some great teams like PyRoGEN and eSuba.INTEL that already registed, this tourney seems to be awesome.

District Prague presents: Race4Prague

District Prague - an eSports club located in Prague, Czech Republic will this summer be hosting a TrackMania² Stadium tournament named Race4Prague that's also open for international players and that got some pretty good prizes added to it.

All that's needed to participate (besides showing up) is that you need to pay an entrance fee of 40€ / person. Deadline for it is set to 5th July.

ManiaPlanet Video Contest!

The ManiaCommunity website is hosting its first ManiaPlanet Video Contest! The goal will only be to create your own Mp trailer. 60 seconds videos are expected from admins. The deadline to send your work will be 28/07/2013, 23h59 CET! No prizes have been announced yet, but it will come soon...

Rules and settings :

30-60 seconds maximum length ( 10 seconds tolerance for credits or logos )
You are also allowed to use ingame footage and real-life footage
Present it like a trailer; a logo of the game should appear at the end (see what we mean by looking at the newest official MP trailers)
The ManiaCommunity Video Contest Intro should be used. It's not finished yet; we will post a link to it the next days!

Title pack of the month : SDpro, Triseaux interview!

What happens to the community? Did creative freaks found a new drug that enhanced their brain capacities? Indeed, two awesome title packs have been unleashed from the depths of some player's minds for this month. So Triseaux, manager of the ShootMania : Storm PyRoGEN team just released his "Search and download Pro" Title pack.

This new title pack is here to bring a new pro face for the classical "search and destroy" Game mode. He worked on balance, Teamplay and Skillcap, with all the features available on NADEO's fps so as to bring one mode that could fit to competitive players. Specially those who get tiered with an ELITE mode that might bore sometimes, and where the only new aspects are the maps.

So if you are one of these players and want to try something new, you shall test that 3v3 team mode.

Rules :

You have to attack or defend servers each round.
2 teams of 3 players
Attackers have to pose the device on any servers and Defend it during downloading
Defenders have to prevent the device to be posed and if it is, destroy the device before it finish downloading.
2 Goals on each map
You switchAttack/Defence each round
3 Armor points for the rocket players, 2 for the railgunner
1 Railgun per team. Picked it same order of warmup selection.
Railgun can cancel rockets, fast releod when touch, and takes 1 armor point
Items to Pick-up in the map for rocket players (Arrow, Nucleus, and extra rockets)
Railgunner can not pick items
Armor plate to get instant armor
You can pick armor with the plate "Armor" when it is green.

Interview from Triseaux

Can you describe a bit the creation process?

All began from a Jib3z idea, a developer with who i worked with during Alpha stage. He asked me to make another competitive game mode to make something else than Elite. A Teamplay based mode. We both played to Css Cod and Bf so the Bomb to implant was obvious for us. But i did not want something for campers and slow play, so with ShootMania it was just perfect, since it is fast, you can walljump, get more weapons, amo, Armor points.

First we saw what was possible at that time, and we tested several things. But with the ShootMania evolution (beta 2, 3...) a lot of new things came up and let us do something new, but too bugged unfortunately. Like script incompatibility and updates. We had to come back on codding to fix all the bugs every time there was an update.

Jib3z, after some times, quitted ShootMania, so i finished the work alone. The problem is, with all the competitions, the management of the PyRoGEN Team and the traveling for tourneys, i could not finish the work. LAW helped me and joined the adventure few weeks ago. A love story began with him. Without him, i would not have been able to release it.

At that moment, we are testing it to fix some bugs that remain. After the release, some changes will be done, depending on the player's feedback. We have some modifications on the score board and some visual effects too.

What do you want to bring with this mode?

I do not think i will bring the ShootMania revolution, but it can bring an alternative to the already existing mods, and maybe why not being a great concurrent to Elite (i know that i love dreaming)

Swagseries goes Awsomniac!

The Swagseries ShootMania : Storm team has found a structure and comes in a new French Multigaming. indeed, Awsomniac just made few months ago a great TrackMania² : Canyon team, made with the best players. And now they are joined with one of the best SM Line-up! So congratulation to them, and we wish them good luck for the future.

ShootMania Mappack Combo

As this is already the case for the Elite mode, Mania-Actu and Drakonia are associating with the great e-sport actors to propose you a structured and recurrent method to select the mappack and identical tournament rules for everybody. For the Combo mode, a new structure enters the process. It is KrazyUsers, organizers of the KrazyKupCombo, the first Combo mode tournament! Thereby, you will be sure to compete with the same rules in every tournament, and on the same maps.

That map pack will be composed of 9 maps, designed by the players! It will be available for an entire season, approximatively 3 to 4 months.

Mappack Rules

Mappers send their own maps. These maps must not be protected by passwords, and must contain at least one in-game visible sign, for us to display the logos during the tournaments.
The Jury, composed of players having taken part in at least one Combo mode tournament as well as volunteers, will remove maps, in order not to exceed the maximum number of maps
Each map pack will contain 9 maps
The chosen maps are going to be made available for everybody on a public server.
The players will vote to keep maximum 3 old maps.
The players will vote in order to add at least 3 new maps.
The mappack will change every 3-4 months, depending on following competitions
Players will be able to vote for the maps during 2-3 weeks

Particularity of the first mappack:

The 7 maps of the current map pool can be replaced in the official map pool.

Zotac Cup #13 : KrYw
