Well, I suppose that is unlikely. However, I have been trying to use the Law of Attraction principle of aligning, getting inspired, and then taking action. I had not been feeling inspired to take action. I need to reconcile that with the desire to keep this blog updated on a regular basis.

Also, there has been a lot going on astrologically that has led me to feel very inward. So, I have gone with that. Following the energies. How about you? One of the more basic things seems to have just been the sun in Scorpio. Last night, the sun moved into Sagittarius, and I feel more inspired. I guess I felt inspired sometimes in the past month and a half. But I would get ideas, and then not have the time or inclination to push them this far out into the world.

I have also been considering some shifts in this site. (Some of them being, Manifest Laboratory: Now with more swearing and drinking!) I have been trying to figure out ways to make that happen. (Well, I can figure out the swearing and drinking. I am more thinking about my own domain and a redesign.) I have been ruminating on all of this. And stewing in Plutonic (Scorpio) juices. Perhaps I am pushing out again. Not to mention all the crazy, wonderful, but time-consuming stuff that has been going on with my husband Kevin's writing career. Lots of energy there. (Plan to write more on that later.) At any rate, I am here. That is a start. We'll see where it takes us.

You can also follow me on Facebook or Twitter. (My Facebook automatically feeds to my Twitter.) I tend to throw a lot of things up on Facebook b/c I'm a Facebook geek and I'm there most of the time anyway. That is a good place to check in if I ignore the blog for too long.

It's all a work in progress. Or, as Neale Donald Walsch might say, "We're making it all up." Good thing this is a laboratory! A friend today said that I am the intersection of motivation and relaxation. I rather liked that. Seems like inspired action.

Thanks for reading.

Dream Achievement

Ahhhhhhh.

Sometimes it makes sense to just sit back and enjoy the wonderful things you've created. That's how I'm feeling in this moment. Big things have been happening in our lives. I have not been talking about them that much. I've been feeling a little more silent. (Keep meaning to write a post on silence, but it doesn't seem to come out! Ha!)

I just celebrated my seventh wedding anniversary. For some reason, seven seems like a big number. It seems much bigger than six. It seems like a relatively long time to be married. (I know, not long compared to some, but yes long compared to others. It's all relative.) Other than this one, the longest I've been in a relationship with one person was a year. So, seven years of marriage, plus two years of living in sin is pretty impressive.

We are living in the house of our dreams. (It is a work in progress, but still.) We have two wonderful children. We have a cute little dog. We have come pretty far in nine years. I feel, "Aaaaaahhhhhh."

One of our biggest accomplishments is that my husband, Kevin, is now a published writer. It's taken years of hard work. I suppose it didn't have to, if we'd just gotten our thoughts together sooner. But it's been a hill to climb, and we are climbing it together. Oddly, I feel pretty accomplished for his accomplishment. Is this what marriage is about? It feels good.

I guess this is all a reminder to stop and take time to look around you. I imagine you have created a life with wonderful dreams which came true as well. You may not have everything you think you've ever wanted, but the most you notice all the wonders you do have, the more wondrousness you will attract.

The biggest ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh of today is that Kevin's book came out on Amazon today (or yesterday? We're not sure!) This is it. This feels like the big time. This is where we see...it's all happening. It's really just the beginning for him. I feel sometimes like he's been interviewing for this job for seven years and now he just got it. Now he's got it and we're starting from the ground up. But I have faith. We're working from the inside out. We're working on feeling good. We are rendezvousing with an amazing group of people. It's been a fabulous ride and I truly believe it is just going to get fabulouser and fabulouser. (Yes, I'm making up a lot of words this post. I guess that's what happens when I don't write for a while...I forget how!)

So, if you've made it this far in this post, thank you! If you'd like to read Kevin's post on Dream Achievement today, click here. (I lifted the title from him.) Of course, he's been working at it a long time (and is incredibly talented if I do say so myself). But the real results began to come when we had some breakthroughs this spring around our thought processes. We really began to practice seeing, thinking, and feeling successful and happy. Now, it still required the work to be done, but it was then much more joyful, productive work. And now there's a book! So exciting.

If you like bizarre fiction at all, check it out!

The Book of Positive Aspects - An Abraham Process Video

<object width="425" Enjoy!

From September 24, 2008:

Mercury turned retrograde today.

I feel compelled to share this with people. If you're not familiar, check it out here.

Anything starting with re- is generally a good thing to do during Mercury Retro. Read, relax, revise, remember, restore... You get the idea. (I've already re-vised this entry like 3 times!)

Generally, weird things happen that you think could be really bad and take a lot of time and sometimes some money, but usually aren't too serious in the end. Mercury is the trickster.

For example, today already, I dropped my coffee twice in the car on the way to work. It was a bother, but didn't hurt anything and I still had plenty of coffee left (thank goodness for lids)! A co-worker called in with a mysterious illness. She wasn't sure if she could make it in or not. She was trying to get in to the doctor, but didn't know if she could. She got to the doctor and they said they've seen this weird thing (We've seen it on her, too, she's not faking), but they have no idea what it is. She wasn't able to come into work. We had to cover her clients. There was some hustle, but it all worked out. One lady ended up coming in 25 minutes early for her appointment, which was perfect because that was the only time I had available to help her. It all works out.

My favorite watch-words for Mercury retrograde:
Patience
Humor

I decided that humor sounded like more fun.

My affirmation today is:
"Lots of funny things happen during Mercury Retrograde"

I've seen it happen already today. It's been pretty funny. I choose funny! Right as I decided that my affirmation for the day is "Lots of funny things happen during Mercury Retrograde," one co-worker who DID make it in, did the funniest little dance in greeting me. Law of attraction, Baby.

Intense-city

I guess the title of this is a throwback to sometime in my youth (the 80s?) when we added "city" to things a lot. At any rate, has anyone else been noticing a lot of intensity lately? I know some of the astrological configurations that could be contributing to this feeling, but I won't bother going into that here. There are so many factors that can create intensity in our personal lives and society at large. I just tend to notice it because I see themes in the lives of the people I consult with on a daily basis. It's interesting to watch everyone coming in with the same issues in droves. Often mirroring my own issues, of course. (Law of Attraction, that one!)

So, what to do? It's simple, really. But not necessarily easy. The best thing I have found is: breathe, drink water, take walks, just be. If you can, try to find the positive in whatever situation you are in. If you're not feeling that, just be. It will help. The more you can be the calm center, the more you will attract calm.

I've found through trial and error that losing my calm doesn't generally help. Especially lately. I'm not sure if it's where I'm at or just the evolution of our planet, but I find lately especially, if I do what I call "throwing a tantrum", it all generally gets worse before it gets better. (For me, throwing a tantrum is going off on an angry rant, either to the object of my ire or someone else. Sometimes it involves crazy sobbing.)

There are a lot of schools of thought out there that will tell you how helpful it is to "get it all out". I guess that could be true. Thinking in terms of Abraham's emotional scale, if you are in depression (anger turned inward) and you move up to anger (anger turned outward), you are making progress! You will feel better. So, I guess for some folks, a good, old-fashioned tantrum IS progress. However, I'm usually hanging out a little more in the boredom - appreciation range (1-7 on the scale). So, going down to anger (17) or rage (19), doesn't make things better. I love the wisdom of the Abraham material. (See, there I go into appreciation! Yay!)

In addition to breathing, drinking water, and walking, I'd say to check where you are on the emotional scale and do whatever you can to find relief. Move up the scale in steps. Wherever you're at, it's ok. Wherever you're at is temporary. You always have a choice as to how you will react to things. Just stopping and letting everything swirl around you can help you realize that it's really all fine. You might even begin to enjoy the show. And then you will attract much better circumstances.

God is a Detective?

This really cracked me up this morning. My mother, who lives with us, usually just gets a cheeseburger. This time, however, she decided she wanted the fish and chips. As I was waiting in my car in line, I looked at the big menu. $7.50? $7.50! $7.50! The cheeseburger is just $3.00. What is she thinking? (Well, she doesn't know.) We have 5 people to feed. And on and on and on. I really don't want to reactivate my first thoughts (I can feel it happening!), so I will stop there. I just wanted to give you an idea of what those thoughts were and how they felt.

Then I noticed how I felt as I was sitting there fuming about my mother's huge extravagance. Not good. Tight. Constricted. And, as I searched for new thoughts, a little relieved. What were the new thoughts? First, "She doesn't know this costs double." Second, "This is silly. We can certainly afford this." Third, "Why shouldn't she have what she wants?" And better and better.

I've been working on the abundance thing for a while. I sometimes get tripped up because I'm also the family bean counter. So, to a certain extent, I have to watch the dollars. (It got kinda bad when no one was watching 'em fly around.) But I don't have to watch 'em feelin' like that. And really, I imagine there is a future for us with feelings so abundant and in tune that the money can fly around and it will all work out beautifully. (See, just got myself to an even better feeling thought!) I think the watching of the dollars helped me feel abundant for a while. By this I mean, planning a budget and tracking every little thing in financial software. Because I had a plan, I KNEW it would work out. It made me feel better. And then I got to feeling constricted about the plan. So, I had to back off on it a little. It's a work in progress.

The point is, whatever your issue, it's an ongoing process. Being conscious of your feelings in the small moments can really helpful in identifying where you're at, and making a change for the better.

Fish and chips for everyone! (Hey, is this getting biblical?)

Following the clues from your inner being: grinding

So, as you may have noticed, I've been mostly setting up the services I want to offer here at Manifest Laboratory. I wanted to take a moment and create a post that was not about that in the midst of all this set-up, though!

Basically, I like to post things as they are happening to me, as they occur to me. I like to live in the now and share that. What is happening now is that the universe seems to be coaxing me into all of this. It's really quite lovely. And a little bit scary. I'm being coaxed away from my day job, which is part love and part grind. I'm being coaxed into creating my own way, which will hopefully be all love, no grind. (Well, that sounded wrong! Ha. Don't tell my husband.) I guess I do hope there is some grinding. But see, this is exactly why I want to have my own thing. If I want to discuss grinding, let's do it! Whoa. Ha, these verbal plays are just rolling right out of me. But, I digress.

The real point of this post (I think) is to watch for clues from the universe and act on them. I have been enjoying that immensely. When I discussed that with my husband this morning, he agreed that he is doing that as well. When we do that, life tends to flow for us. It is mysterious and lovely and fun. Things happen in the most interesting and beautiful ways. I just realized I titled this "clues from your inner being" and now all I've talked about is "clues from the universe". I guess to me they mean the same thing. Everything you see "out there" is really a reflection of what is on the inside.

Having said that, what clues have you followed? Where have they led you? How much grinding have you done? (That last one is rhetorical. ;) )

Open-ended Vibrational Tune Up

As I've been working with the 15-minute Vibrational Tune Up, it's come to my attention that sometimes more time is necessary! To that end, I'm also offering the Open-ended Vibrational Tune Up. The concept is the same as the 15-minute Vibrational Tune Up, but without the time limit.

Basically, our goal in the session is to raise your vibration and help you find a better-feeling thought on whatever subject you choose. (Or perhaps even more than one.) We can also explore ways to keep the new thought active in your consciousness. My guess is that these sessions will find their natural end time. We will know when we are done. I doubt many will go beyond the 45-60 minute range. However, I'm willing to play it by ear and give the process the time it needs. Either party can choose to end the session.

Partially because I'm leaving the time open-ended, I've decided to offer this service on a donation basis. (Suggested donation is $1/minute.) Give what you can or what you feel the service was worth after the session. This policy subject to change.

Wanna give it a go? Schedule your session

I look forward to working with you!

Still immersed in The Vortex

I'm greatly enjoying the newest offering from Abraham-Hicks: The Vortex: Where the Law of Attraction Assembles All Cooperative Relationships. It's one of those books I can't help but read with a pen in my hand. I think it's also taking me longer because I keep reading it before bed. When I get tired, I can't help but think, "What would really make me feel good right now?" And the answer is often "Sleep". It's nice have reinforcement in making good choices in the now, so I go with it.

The focus of this book is on relationships, which literally touches on almost everything in our lives. Like many of the Abraham-Hicks books, a regular Abe reader will have heard much of what they are saying before. However, it's generally put together in different ways, with some new tidbits and much humor thrown in. I've been reading it in small pieces, savoring the experience. A lot of things came to me that I posted on here. A lot of things happened (or didn't happen!) in my day-to-day life. It was intense. At the end of it all, I had to just ask myself, "What do I do now?"

Myself answered, "Take a break."

Awesome. Good advice, Self. So, I pretty much did that. I gave myself some time and space to do what I wanted. I try to do that as much as possible these days, mostly because it's what I'm trying to create. More time. More freedom. More leisure. More fun.

As I've been experimenting with that, I realized just how many of the things on my to-do list are truly negotiable. I think sometimes we get stressed out under all the "shoulds" in our lives. As my friend said today, "Don't should all over yourself."

Of course, there are some things we really have to do in our lives. But, as one of my high school teachers was fond of saying, "All you really have to do is occupy space and die."

With that in mind, when we want a break, I think it pays to stand back and create it for ourselves. How many of the things we "should" be doing are self-imposed? In what ways can we free ourselves? The answers you come up with might surprise you.

New Coaching Brainchild: 15-Minute Vibrational Tune Up

15-Minute Vibrational Tune Up*

A 15-minute IM experience designed to raise your vibration on whatever subject you choose. I think the world would be a better place if we all had access to good, affordable support when we need it.

To this end, the online model of coaching I'm working with is meant to be easy, fun, inexpensive, and more or less anonymous. More than that, and you may forfeit your appointment time.

I look forward to working with you!

See Also:
Coaching Philosophy
Coaching Disclaimer
15-Minute Vibrational Tune Up
About Me

Coaching Info: About Me

I've been a coach in some way for most of my life.

When I was in college, I worked as a writing coach to fellow students.

For over five years, I worked as a presentation coach to volunteer docents.

For the past two years, I've been a personal coach in a corporate setting, seeing anywhere from 50-80 clients per week.

I have been a spiritual seeker (and finder) for most of my life. I believe we are ultimately responsible for everything in our own lives. I have been studying spirituality, manifesting, and astrology for over a decade. I practice using my intuition on a daily basis. I also practice staying grounded in reality and jumping into living my dreams from there. I believe we create our lives using the law of attraction. I work to use it more consciously and help my clients do so as well. Currently, the biggest influence on my law of attraction work comes from the work of Abraham, but I am open to multiple teachers and paths. I follow what feels right and makes sense to me.

Mostly, I believe that the life I live prepares me to work with others. I do my best to live a life of joy, peace, honesty, love, creativity, and fun. I work to create balance between my roles of self, coach, wife, mother, and friend. I have had challenges in life, as we all have, and have always come back to joy and love. I work to remain open and come from acceptance of all that is.

I believe in coaching as valuable support and guidance. I hope to make coaching more accessible to all through an affordable, easy, enjoyable online format.

If you are interested in learning more about me, read my blog. I believe the best coaching situations happen when there is a natural affinity between coach and client. I believe you will know whether or not you feel this affinity with me from perusing this site. If so, I look forward to working with you to create something wonderful!

Warmly,
Terri

See Also:
Coaching Philosophy
Coaching Disclaimer
15-Minute Vibrational Tune Up
Schedule Your Session The first one is going to be a disclaimer. Don't be scared. I'm sure I don't need one of these for you. It's those other people out there. ;)

Regardless, for my own protection and peace of mind, I've decided to ask everyone who chooses to have a coaching session to agree to a disclaimer before we begin. It's a little legalese sounding, but the real gist of it for me is more than just my protection, but for the client to really take responsibility for his or her own choices and actions. Taking responsibility for your own life is key to understanding and using your own power, so we might as well start with that.

Feel Good: Remember the Physical

Check out my new best friend: Pogo. Yes, I just named my rebounder. I am fully anthropomorphizing it. Yep. I guess it's all the Bizarro fiction I've been reading lately.

As many of you know, right now I'm very influenced by the teachings of Abraham. One of the basic tenets is to feel good. Because you attract what you are vibrating. When you feel good, you attract good things. When working with the law of attraction, I think the tendency is to focus on the mental or the spiritual. And Abraham does focus on the emotional a lot as well. It is our emotional guidance system that tells us if we are on the right or wrong track as far as what we'd like to attract. But I rarely notice anyone in law of attraction circles talking about the physical. So, I just want to remind us all to remember the physical.

I thought of that this morning because I was really excited to get on Pogo. (You know, I'm not sure about that name. It was the nickname of a kid I knew in grade school. It was a shortening of his last name. I like the name because I got it from this song sent to me by Michael Sherlock. But "getting on Pogo" still sounds weird to me, since I think of him as a 4th grade boy. I might have to rethink that.)

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Rebounding. I noticed that it just makes me feel good. I had the urge to do it when I got home from work yesterday. It was during that "I'm tired and vaguely annoyed because I just got home from a somewhat stressful day and I'm not fully integrated into my home life yet" time. A few minutes of bouncing sounded really good. I'd like to say I did it right then, but I didn't. I did do it later. And it did make me feel good. It seemed to change my physical chemical composition. It shook me up and made me feel tingly. A fellow rebounder told me that even just a few minutes of bouncing has beneficial effects. I can see that.

Here are some of the benefits of rebounding. The site is a little ghetto, but I did a quick skim and it looks like good info. Here's another one.

My main point is, if you want to improve your point of attraction, remember that enjoyable physical activity is a great option. By improving your point of attraction, I basically mean improving your mood. You cannot attract something better until you feel better. I know, it seems backwards, but that's the way it works. Everything in your experience is under your control. That's the blessing of the universe. (And sometimes the curse!) When we understand and consciously use the law of attraction to bring good things to us by feeling good, it is the blessing.

So, get out there and bounce, dance, run, walk, kick box, or scuba dive your way to a better life. I'm sure you can think of others. Feel good!
