Earlier this morning, the instructional setting at Mansfield Summit High School was disrupted by a situation which the school district takes very seriously. An anonymous call was taken by the campus receptionist at 9:15 AM indicating a dangerous item was somewhere in the campus parking lot. After a thorough sweep, law enforcement officials gave the district approval at 11:15 AM to return to normal campus operations.

Arabic Grant Update: Amended grant proposal rejected; District program discontinued

The Mansfield ISD Academic Decathlon teams competed against eight other 4-A high schools in the Annual Region VII competition held in Arlington last weekend. Arabic Language Studies Statement

Mansfield ISD was recently awarded a Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant focused on the Arabic language from the Department of Education. The District applied for this grant because the Arabic language is listed by the federal government as a critical language. This means that our country has a shortage of Arabic speakers and there is a need for people who are not only proficient in the Arabic language, but also possess knowledge about its cultures and traditions. Recent concerns have been raised by parents concerning plans for the curriculum. We are working with parents and staff for the language curriculum development.
