Oxlade-Chamberlain has been given a chance to show us what he can do and why Arsene pay big money for him. His league debut was against Manchester united and the game against Blackburn was his third league game in a row.

The departure of Gervinho to African nation cup and the lackluster performance of Arshavin really pave the way for The OX earlier than anyone expected. We all know what The OX can do from what we seen during the cup match and the champion league. Many even wonder when he will given a chance at the league just to give Theo Walcott a pressure to perform week in week out.

He was given a chance now and it was at the left side of the attack. He has improved way beyond our imagination not just in attack but also he improves a lot defensively. His mazy run, his direct approached, the battle spirit in him and the willing to track back make the fans more and more in love in him. Arsenal have found themselves a real gem here.

With the form The Ox in, I think he just make the left wing position his. I feel sorry a bit for Gervinho, he was in a fine form before he left for the African Cup Of Nation. Gervinho might feel uneasy now knowing that he might lose his place. Gervinho is a good player and he really justify the reason he was brought to Arsenal.

If we compare The Ox against Gervinho, the understanding between these two players with Theo does make a lot of different. The Ox link with Theo better than Gervinho and it was shown at the games against Blackburn where Theo assist and The OX score. The Ox is more adventurous going forward and his pass compares to Gervinho. In other word, The Ox looks more effective than Gervinho.

Do I like to see Gervinho gives way for The Ox? I just have a mixed feeling about this. I like to see more of The OX but I also like to see Gervinho.

For me, the ideal situation is the right and left wings are meant for all of the three Arsenal fast runners in the shape of Theo, the Ox and Gervinho. I like to see them playing on a rotation system since all of them are capable to play on both wing. Once a while I like to see Ryo Miyachi make his bow to the squad to give them a breather.

Forget Arshavin and I don’t think Benayoun will be at Arsenal for long, these three players plus Ryo Miyachi is what we need at the wings right now and for the future.

The latest is George Graham criticizing the depth of Arsenal squad. Is it George? As far as I know every team have the same amount of players to choose from. Remember the 25 man rules, 17 non-homegrown, 8 homegrown and unlimited number of under-21. In case you cannot remember, please read back the rule book and maybe you forget which year you are in now.

Yeah, you read it right up there. Every team couldn’t have more than 25 players over the age of 21. Out of 25, not more than 17 of the player are non-homegrown. I reckon everybody understand how to determine the player is homegrown or not.

How the squads look right now? Arsenal already has 17 non-homegrown players. 4 are homegrown while the rest are under-21. The loanees are Frimpong, Bendtner, Denilson, Lansbury and Vela are all under-21 and homegrown. 2 of the current under-21 player will be homegrown next season.

The way I see it, Arsenal in no power to spend for outside talent for this transfer window. Arsenal need to sacrifice a few players if Arsenal wants to bring in outside talent. For me, Arsene should just sacrifice Diaby and even Arshavin and Chamakh. These players just didn’t bring any value to the team right now. Diaby always injured and playing with Arshavin and Chamakh is just like paying with 10 man.

I just wish to see a positive transfer window and I ope I get my wish and Arsene will sacrifice these players for more effective players.

Why Arsene let this thing happen again and again. Why can’t he said “Enough Is Enough”.

It cannot be deny that Arsene is a good manager and a genius in his own way. But if there is any weakness in him, I would say that he also stand for his players and give them faith even though they are not worth it.

Take the case for Arshavinas an example. I just cannot remember any good game Arshavin had this season. Last night he even cost Arsenal the points. When he come, the fightback just not there anymore. Why must Arsene keep on playing him. I think Park will be better than him and he also a captain of the national team and currently in fine scoring form for his country.

While Arsene always known for trusting his young players, he sure fail to do that this time. The OX had the game of his lifetime. Rafael really get battered at the rightback by The OX. We have seen Fabregas play more time when he was 18 so why he can’t give it a go at The OX.

Talking about giving faith to the youngster, I think it is time for Arsene to play Ryo as well. Let the OX and Ryo play at the left wing in the absense of Gervinho. Stop playing Arshavin and give this youngster a chance to prove that they are better than the ineffective Russian captain.

What we want Arsene now is to be ruthless to his players. If the like of Alex Ferguson and Roberto Mancini can be ruthless, why can’t he. There are no point to defend the in-effective players now.

Arsene, you should say this to Arshavin. Enough is enough. I’ve lost my patience already. Let the youngster show you how to play football and battle it out on the playing field.

After the defeat at Swansea, it does look gloom and doom in the Arsenal world. There are just nothing to cheer about now. No new signing, the deadwood and underperforming players are still there, injuries keep piling up etc. etc.

There are a few talk about the revenge of the Old Trafford humilating defeat and some even think Arsenal will get humilated again this weekend. There are just no positive aura right now.

To lighten things up, I come out with a video of Arsenal win against Manchester United last season. Enjoy it.

Enjoy it.
Robin Van Persie sure have single-handedly give Arsenal a win for many occasion this season. The more notable one is the brace he scores against West Brom after he was introduce as a subs. 0 – 0 draw against Fulham shows how Arsenal really need Robin Van Persie to start.

Arsenal now are doubt as a 1 team man. It is sure very worrying at times. Where will Arsenal goals come from if Robin Van Persie cannot have any chances to score or miss a game? A 4 – 0 win against Wigan shows Arsenal can also rely on other players to score.

Let us see who else should take scoring responsibility and take the burden off from Robin Van Persie.

Walcott

When people ask me who will scores besides Robin Van Persie, my mind will automatically think the name of Theo Walcott. We all know Theo can scores and currently he is Arsenal second top goal scorer. He have the pace and technique to do it. 4 goals in 21 appearances are not good enough. He scores 13 goals last season and I hope he get at least 20 goals this season.

Gervinho

Getting a much needed goal against Wigan, we all know how he can contribute to Arsenal scoreline. Either by assisting a goal or scoring himself, we just hope he can contribute more. He constantly gets himself in a good position to score but the finishing just deserted him sometimes. With only 3 goals to his name, he needs to work hard to improve his scoring stats. 18 goals last season at French League, we sure want to see more of the goals coming from him now.

Ramsey

He is not a Fabregas type attacking midfielder, but he always pop up at the box at the right moment and making a scoring chances for himself. The only things he lack is goals.

Arteta

The goal against Wigan shows us what he capable of. We all know he can score from outside the box and we sure like to see more of it. His best ever scoring season was with Everton during 2006/07 season with 12 goals. With the team like Arsenal and the better scoring chances he will have, I hope he can break his own record.

Arsenal Big Centre Back

Only 3 goals contributed by the centre back, all of it by Vermaelen, is just not good enough. Arsenal will bring any team a shivers defending a set-piece with the presence of Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Koscielny and Djourou, but so far it just not working out from the set pieces. Improve this area and Arsenal are the major goal threat not just from open play but from set-pieces as well.

While other players will have their chances and goals to their names once a while, the players mention above are the most like source of Arsenal goals right now and the stats just didn’t look good on them. I just hope they will get their scoring touch once again starting from the ManCity game and Arsenal will firing all cylinders this season.

It should be a hat-trick or more but I settled for 2 goals from RVP and bagging all the 3 points.

I was so happy that Van Persie has finally scores his first free kick goals in 4 years since 2007. Robin Van Persie has finally beaten his bad form of free kicks. I hope this is the first of more to come just from the free kicks.

It is very frustrating to see all Arsenal free kicks go to the crowd without working the goalkeeper at all. We all know how important it is to take advantages of the free kick from the promising position. Read my post http://marcmm03.blogspot.com/2011/06/two-areas-arsenal-need-lot-of.html on how I stress that free kick is the area Arsenal really needs to improve.

We see how many games are won or point saves just from a good execution of free kicks. We see how Sebastian Larrson free kick goal have unsettled the Arsenal defences. I just wish Arsene resigned him in the summer or never allowed him to leave.

Regarding the game, overall everybody doing well considering the pressure they had to perform after the defeat by Spuds previously. I just a bit disappointed not to see Park not featured. I just hope to see him getting featured soon and banging the goals like he always did every time he plays for his country and get the pressure off Van Persie a bit.

Looking forward for the next game against Marseille and I’m looking forward to another Van Persie magic and goals from free kicks.

But if we look deeply, the project wasn’t fail. It was cheated.

Cheated? By who? Project youth are cheated by the fake big money in football. Why I said it was fake? Many of big money spender in football are never have the money to spend. They either being finance by their sugar daddy, by the King and by the bank in their country. Some are even in huge dept and still struggling to pay their debt. We have seen what happen to Liverpool. Despite almost go into administration, they still manage to spend a lot of money during the transfer window.

Because of all the fake and cheated money in football, youth project look like a thing in a past. I can say that almost all the football fans in the world will said that a team cannot win anything if they rely on their youth system no matter how good the academy is. Who can blame them?

Since football become a business, the successful team always comprise from the team that spend big. Chelsea has successfully bought their success. Manchester City tries to do the same. We have seen the Real Madrid Galatico swept La Liga. Now we saw Barcelona buy the best Spanish player in the continental and almost all of the Spain national team is from Barcelona.

Club that rely on their youth program seems have been swept by tide of the money in football. We take Ajax Amsterdam for example. This is the club known for producing a lot of great players. Our very own Dutch Master Dennis Bergkamp are one of the Ajax academy. Ajax Amsterdam are used to be a great club. They have won many things domestically and continentally. This is they that achieved the greatest prize the football have to offer by developing young players. But now, where are they now? They are struggling to even qualify for Champion League spot. Why is this happen? It is all because of money in football. Their best players are sold so they can balance their book sheet and to survive in this torrid economy. Unable to compete with other elite club in term of salary, it really didn’t help the club at all.

After seeing what happen to Ajax Amsterdam, I’m afraid this thing will happen to my beloved Arsenal as well. Arsenal will never be able to compete with the big money club, not just in term of transfers spending but also salary wise. With big money club keep taping players and blindfold them with money, it is hard for a club like Arsenal to keep their best players.

Unless the FA do something about the situation with the club spending the fake money, I’m afraid many club with a god academy structure but less competitive in term of money will struggle. Stop all those fake money spending and let the club compete fairly and we will see which club is the best actually.

I’m very surprise to see the media start talking about his contract talk and already spreading rumours.

This week should be all about Robin Van Persie achievement. People should pay tribute to him, not questioning about his future. Please media give us a break and stop all the rumours at least for this season. I’m already getting sick of it.

Robin Van Persie is the man for Arsenal nowadays. Forget Fabregas, forget Nasri, RVP is what Arsenal really need. Last season was his best ever season in term of goal scoring form. Scoring 22 goals in 26 starts and 7 subs appearances, it is a stat every striker will be proud of.

RVP scores his 99th and 100th goals against Bolton in his 238 appearances for the club. It is his 5 goals of this season in 8 appearances. It only takes 21 goals for RVP to move into the top ten goal scorer and surpass his compatriot Dennis Bergkamp. Can he do it? I believe he can do it as long he stays injury free. All the best for him.

Now, let us enjoy his moment against Bolton.
After a signing made before the transfer window closed, there still a lot of wrath all over for our beloved club.

The signing of the Mertasacker, Arteta, Benayoun, Park, Santos, Gervinho, AOC & Jeckinson just not enough. Why? Most of the media will said that they lack the premier league experience. Should we really judge players just by their premier league experience? I know the media are since they rate Cahill better than Mertasacker. What so big deal about the premier league experience?

I know for many years already that the best player never had a premier league experience. The best defender also not from premier league, let alone having premier league experience. England, the team full of premier league player, never go beyond quarter-final of major international competition even with the guidance of the coach who have won all major honor with club. So I cannot see any justification in having player with premier league experience will make a better team.

Wojciech Szczesny sure doesn’t need a premier league experience to be better than Almunia (who had a lot of premier league game) and become one of the best if not the best young goalkeeper in premier league. Chelsea winning squad in the first year of Mourinho in charge have a lot of premier league debutant. Sagna become the best right back in the league in his first season and he didn’t have any experience playing in the premier league before.

So my point here is, stop talking about premier league experience and the premium price for the player which having it. Premier league need a lot of import from outside to make the league attractive. Don’t being hypocrite and criticize the club that not buy a lot of English players just because the club is Arsenal.

It’s not another 4-4 draw, but the result is as expected by many fans and pundit. Last season, Arsenal also drew their first match with Liverpool which saw sent off of Joe Cole and Koscielny.

Coming to this game and seeing Joey Barton in the team sheet really make me uneasy. I don’t need another reminder how he ruined Arsenal title charge last season single handedly. My gut feeling didn’t fail me as Joey Barton cause another Arsenal sending off in the shape of Gervinho. Like last season when he should also been sent off, he miraculously staying on the pitch and only receiving red card. Come on ref, are you afraid Joey Barton will assault you when he sees you outside?

As I stated in my previous post a few months ago, Arsenal really need to work out their counter attack and free kick if they want to grind off result.

Defensively, Arsenal are doing very well and deserve an big round of applause. It is always good not to concede in the first match and give the defense a whole lot of confident. At this kind of situation that the team really needs to take any opportunity to win the game. Just one chances well taken, it will be three points in the bag.

Counter attack. There are two moments when Arsenal should have create and opportunity or scores from the counter attack. The first was when Arshavin release, with only Gervinho and a defender to beat, he just waste the opportunity by giving it to the defender instead of putting Gervinho through on goal. The second counter attack comes very late in the game. Djourou manage to bring the ball out of the danger zone and beat one Newcastle player at the middle of the pitch. He have the option of RVP and Theo, under no pressure he pass the ball at the back of Theo instead of in front and the chances go begging.

If Arsenal want to grind the result and win by 1-0, this is the area they need to improve. Arsenal have fast players upfront, they should take full advantages of their speed.

The next match will be Udinese. This is the game that Arsenal shouldn’t take lightly. I hope Ryo Miyachi can play. Looking forward for a positive result.
And like most of the fans, I’m already getting tired of it.

It is not surprisingly that many fans just happy if Fabregas just sold out to as long as the price is met. The rumours and saga just not created a happy dressing room and the Arsenal blogging world just felt the negative energy from the saga.

Before there is any interest from Barcelona, we have heard all about good things he said about his affection and love for this club. But it is not surprisingly that most of those words are come out before the year 2008.

So here is what I can find about what Fabregas said about his love and commitment to the club. So here are some.

This was quote when he just sign a long term contract.

.after signing a long-term contract, September 2005

"I am really happy here and it is one of the best clubs I have ever seen. Everybody treats you like a king. I really appreciate it. I always wanted to play for a big club like Arsenal and I don't want to move."

Is it? Why don't say this now and shut up the Barcelona camp mouth.

So now is what he quotation about his gratitude to Arsene Wenger.

"I have to thank him for that but now I know I have to pay him back for what he has done for me."

Hmmm.... You can pay Arsene back by staying at Arsenal and sign another long term contract and tell Barcelona that Arsenal is your home and where you belong. Arsenal made you and you have to pay the club back by being the loyal servant to the club.

Here is his quotation after being awarded the captain armband.

“I am honoured to be wearing the captain’s armband for Arsenal and I am 100 per cent committed to this Club. My future is here.”

I need to hear you said this again Cesc. You are our captain and a good captain will never abondoned the ship. You have a great future here at Arsenal and you know it.
Are any of these words meant anything now? Most of those words come outs before the Barcelona interest. I guess now Fabregas just cannot keep his words, his promise and pledge to the club. Here's My view.

Gael Clichy finally moves from Emirates. I guess it is not a surprise move. Maybe he’s been looking for the move for a long time already.

He goes to none other than the Arsenal Reject club, Manchester City. I guess ManCity really want to build a squad like Arsenal FC. Ohh.. I am so proud when people want to be like our club.

So after a few years back when Clichy commented about a players move to ManCity only motivated by the money not by the ambition, maybe we be quite surprise when he do the same. But who could resist a 6 figures income per week. Arsenal sure cannot give that amount of salary, so the only choice is ManCity.

Stop thinking about Clichy motivation to move, let us see who will cover the left back position. We think about the same when Ashley Cole moves to Chelsea, another move motivated by the money. Then we saw the emergence the young French left back named Gael Clichy, the one who moves now. So we say “Who missed Cashley Cole?”

Like always Arsenal never have any problem in the left back position. Even when all of the left back injured, we still managed to have cover for the position like Mathieu Flamini. The favorite for the position must be Kieran Gibbs. I wouldn’t be surprised if Arsene Wenger would not buy any left back to replace Gael Clichy. So far I cannot remember he spent on left back, correct me if I’m wrong.

Kieran Gibbs must be over joy right now. He might even celebrate it. For him, Clichy is the stumbling block for his progression and his place at the team. A regular at Arsenal would sure mean he has better chance to play for England.

The question now, can Kieran Gibbs step up to the occasion? From what I see last season, he does an equally good job as Gael Clichy. He has better crossing ability then Clichy and might have better concentration compares to his peers. He only needs a few improvement in his game and it start with solid defending.

Maybe Arsene have monitored the progress of Kieran Gibbs for all this while and his performances last season might have make the decision to let Clichy go very easy. It is the same like how easy he sold Vieira when Cesc have emerged.

Clichy departure might mean a good thing for Arsenal. As we know he is the last of The Invincible. Get rid of all the old Invincible to create a new influx of new successful team.

Gibbs, please step up and don’t let us down. Your chance is coming and it is yours for grab. To Gael Clichy, thank you for your services. Good luck to you, and not for ManCity of course.

Like always there are a few set of fans not satisfy with the lack of activities and a few are just waiting what the club will do once the transfer window open.

So as there is nothing to report regarding the transfer, I would like to look back the players who leave Arsenal. The players that shouldn’t leave Arsenal, the players might need and can be better if they stay at Arsenal. Some people might not agree with my selection and reason, but this is my opinion.

Stuart Taylor

I always rated Stuart Taylor very high and once consider the next England number 1. Winning a double with Arsenal, he is a bright prospect and even considered to succeed David Seaman. But injuries force him out of the game for a long time and eventually he unable to break into the team sheet. He was then sold.

Matthew Upson

With all the defensive problem we had especially defending high ball and set pieces, I think many fans wonder why Arsene sold Upson in the first place. He is just a defender we need to defend the aerial threat. If he still play for Arsenal, I think he can win 6 points for Arsenal just because of his better defending the high ball and set pieces.

Sebastian Larrson

He is an important player for Birmingham last season. His ball distribution is very good and he is better than Denilson. What I like most about him is his free kick ability. As I strees out on my previous blog post on how Arsenal really need somebody to scores from Free Kick, Sebastian Larrson can answer this problem. I believe if he given a chances and play more for Arsenal, he might be a better player.

David Bentley

He is the former Arsenal players that every Arsenal fans like to hate. He left Arsenal because his impatient for first team action. He might regret his action now because he just didn’t get any not at Spurs. I remember he scores against Middlesbrough by chipping Mark Schwarzer with his left foot. He has the ability and he has the desire but he lacks the patient. He likes to shoot from far out and he shows that many time and against Arsenal and he have good free kick ability. The two attributes Arsenal really need right not.

Mathieu Flamini

Restless and known as the French Gattuso, we all know how we really miss him and how he didn’t do well out. I don’t know who regret the most, the club or the player, but I just wish he didn’t leave.

Jermaine Pennant

Impatient has made him wanted a way out from Arsenal. He is a good crosser and he also can scores goal. He also good with free kick and he is fast. If he stay, I believe he will be a better players and Arsenal will sure benefits his attribution on crosses and free kicks.

Jose Antonio Reyes

Home sick has make him move away from Arsenal. He had a good left foot and he can play both as a wide man and a strikers. He is fast, scoring goals, good technical ability and good free kick takers. He didn’t do well after he move, and if he just stay he might be a very important players for Arsenal now.

Eduardo

After saw Arsenal misses a lot of chances, how I wish a predator like Eduardo are there. We saw how good he is and even cheers for him when he scores. I guess the nightmare of the broken leg and the press keep branding him as a bad guy have cost him his form. Unable to recapture the form he was in before his broken leg, he was eventually sold. If only his leg was not broken, I guess Arsenal might have winning 2 or 3 titles by now.

Arsenal now are struggling to fine right players and with the 25 man rules, the task are not easy. If only the players above just able to stay at Arsenal and fulfil their promise, Arsenal might be in a better position right now and few season previously. And maybe Arsenal are a great force of premier league by then.

I think we heard a lot of it from all the bloggers in Arsenal Blogging World.

What I’m going to bring up is the tactical play. It is not about defending corners and free kicks. All people know Arsenal are not good at defending set pieces. It is about something Arsenal are very good and been part of Arsenal play for a long time and now Arsenal just not good at it.

First thing is “Free Kick”. It is surprising to consider when we had the best left footers in premier league in form of Robin Van Persie and have many good technical players. But the stats didn’t lie is it. If I’m not mistaken, I never see any goals scores from free kick last season or a season before or I cannot remember. It is such a long time since I saw one. The fact that last goal Robin Van Persie scores from free kick are back in 2007. Theo Walcott have become close to scores this season.

How many times we saw last season when Arsenal badly need a goal and won a free kick in a promising area, only to see the ball hit the walls or kick high way to the supporters. It is more than one occasion. When Arsenal used to had a free kick specialist, Arsenal have won many games because of it. How many Arsenal have win 1-0 because of Henry scores from free kick? So many is it. Improved on this area and I believe Arsenal will gain another 6 points or even more from it.

Another area Arsenal really need to improve is counter-attack. Last time other teams are afraid to commit many players for set pieces because they afraid to concede from Arsenal counter-attack. The only time Arsenal counter-attack become effective last season is when they scores against Barcelona.

Whenever Arsenal are in position to counter-attack, the players like Nasri always slow down the play and pass sideways. Why don’t they pass it forward and make Theo Walcott run for it. That is really something Arsenal really need to improve. It will make Arsenal gain another 6 points or even more. Arsenal have been a victim of good counter-attack and now it is time for Arsenal to make counter-attack their weapon of destruction like it used to be during the Invincibles.

Improve these two areas, add more steels in defense and midfield and defend set pieces better, Arsenal will become a force to be reckoned the next season. Arsenal didn’t need a major overhauled just a bit of fine tuning.

The question here is, does he really worth 110K a week?

The stories seems to remind me of a few of Arsenal ex-players. Adebayor, Cole, Flamini, all wanted a huge pay rise and eventually they left when tehy don't get what they demand.

Nasri has only been good this season and he already demand for more. What if he play good for 3 years, maybe he demand a salary as same as Christiano Ronaldo get from Real Madrid. Come on Nasri, show us what you got first for the next 3 season and then maybe you can demand that.

110K a week not a small amount of money. Ask all the supporters who spends their hard earn money just to watched their team play, how much they earn. Respect all the supporters. After they get to pay more for ticket price, the last thing they want to see is another player demand for more money when there are no success seen.

My message for you Nasri. Unless you give all the Arsenal supporters 2 trophies every season, then you can demand more. No trophies, no pay rise. It just as simple as that.

As usual whenever the close season approach, the news of who should stay, who should go and who should Arsenal sign taking over the headline.

After a dissapointing season, there are a few players that the fans feel should go for good as they just not contribute enough to the team. So who should go then? Here are my list.

Almunia

He just not good enough. I prefer to see Lehmann at the goal than him.

Sagna & Clichy

They good going forward only. But their cross just terrible. Defensively they are not that great either. It shows as many goals are come from them. I like to see a more solid fullback.

Denilson & Diaby

Whenever they play I just cannot understand what are they doing. Having them playing just like a handicap. No wonder Arsenal never win when both of them play together.

Arshavin

Don't get me wrong. I like him but if Arsenal can get some money for him, the why not.

Bendtner

I like him and he does give something different to the side. But with his constant whinning, I prefer him to go than having an unsettled players.

Here are my list and I really hope them go. I just cannot take anymore dissappointing season.

Like the win against Barca, this win will kept Arsenal supporters have something to brag around.

The league leader, ManUtd, was beaten by Arsenal. Arsenal should have been short in confidence make ManUtd players run all around the field just try to get in the game. Arsenal midfield trio of Song, Wilshere and Ramsey just outstanding.

I think no one can argue it that the star of the match is Aaron Ramsey. It just great to see him back in top form and scores the winning goal. If only he was available from the beginning of the season, it all Shawcross faullt he is isn't, Arsenal might be in better position now.

Ramsey have no doubt the most talented young talent out there. He was tip as Fabregas cover. Technically he was not as par as Fabregas, but he is younger and will be better. One thing that make him above Fabregas. Not that he is Brit. We all know Ramsey was ManUtd supporter before he join Arsenal, but he don't show it during the game. He totally slaughter the club he was supporting. When Fabregas play Barca, it look that he feel guilty playing against them. It shows by his below par performance and was overshadowed by Wilshere.

The title race look interesting now. Now Arsenal are 6 points behind ManUtd and 3 points behind Chelsea. If Chelsea win against ManUtd next week and Arsenal win against Stoke, it only 3 points separated the 3 teams. I wish Ramsey make Shawcross pay for his action last season.

Arsenal run in for the final 2 matches are Aston Villa home and Fulham away. ManUtd will be against Blackburn away and Blackpool home. Chelsea will be against Newcastle home and Everton away. All Arsenal need to do now is win all games and hope the other team do them a favor.

The title race getting more interesting. 3 games to go, 6 points gap, 9 points to grab. Let the final sprint begin.
My faith have gone thin and as season closing to end Arsenal are not convince me that they will win the league title this season.

ManUtd beating Chelsea at Champion league make me more vulnerable in losing my faith now. I cannot expect that any team to give Arsenal a favour in the next game running.

Arsenal is 7 points adrift in second place. Many chances are wasted. When Arsenal should have won by 10 goals, yet again the result is 0 – 0. When ManUtd seems to have lost the game, somehow they manage to get something or even win the game. Even if Arsenal win all the game but if ManU only losing one game, ManU still will take the title. Not a scenario that favouring Arsenal.

Anything less than Arsenal wins convincingly and ManU lose two successive games, I will sure losing my hope. I don’t want to close the chapter very early but unless the team can convince me that they can win something, I guess that is what I expect.

The last stretch to the finishing line. The title are open and any team can won the title. Mathematically even Everton can win the title but realistically the title are between ManU, Arsenal, Chelsea and ManC to grab.

Arsenal are only 5 points behind ManU with 1 game in hand. Right now Arsenal are in both good and bad position to take the title.

GOOD

Arsenal have trailing ManU and give them pressure all this while. Before the season start Arsenal are favorite to finish outside the top 4 but now they still challenging the title. All Arsenal need to do to win the title is win all the 9 remaining matches. Arsenal are out of cup competition and this will enable them to concentrate mainly on the league unlike the likes of their rival which still have cup games to focus to.

BAD

Arsenal have the worst injuries plaque ever and I don’t think any team in this world can cope with the injuries that have befallen to Arsenal. Goalkeeper are not convincing, defense don’t have any cover on the bench, Bendtner and Chamakh are still on vacation mode, the creativity are running out and lapse on concentration. Just to name a few the things that might make Arsenal lose the title.

I just hope after the international break Arsenal manage to turn their forms around. Win all the game and win the title. That is all I ask. Go on Arsenal. Almunia have save Arsenal from further embarassement in these two games. But the games against West Brom have shown what Almunia capable of doing, which is to give free goals to opposing team.

After a weeks when I feel comfortable with Almunia, keep in my mind that Almunia will learn from his previous mistakes, he have disappointed again in the game that Arsenal cannot afford to lose. The second goals are the comedy in his judgement. Why on earth he thinks he needs to go out when there is Squillaci. I just shake my head in disbelief.

Then there is Jens Lehmann on the bench. I wonder what he thinks by that time. I guess he also didn’t believe Almunia will make that mistake. Maybe in his head he will say if he was at goal that wouldn’t happen. And I also had that in my mind.

But does Lehmann still good enough? From his games against Barca last season, he still had what it takes to compete at the top. But maybe he might lose it a bit after a long month breaks from football matches at top level. But like Sol Campbell, he might do better than what we think off. And maybe he is the answer now.

Almunia or Lehmann, it is a difficult decision. I will chose Lehmann even though he will not qualified to earn the medal when Arsenal win the league

All I feel was a negative atmosphere throughout Arsenal world. Having lost all the cup competition in the matter of two weeks is a hard thing to swallow by every gooners.

The division among the club fans has never been greater before than this past week. A defeat against Birmingham still can be accepted and the atmosphere is still good. But after fail to capitalize the opportunity given by two defeat of ManUtd and followed by two successive cup defeats to the hand of Barca and ManUtd, the negative aura just arise from the grave.

With the increase price of season ticket and lack of explanation from the manager and board about the club situation, the fans anger getting more felt. But who can blame them, spending hard earned money but lack of result.

This situation won’t get any better soon and not this month I feel. The only thing that can improve the situation is the players and manager to respond well, I mean extremely well, on the pitch. I couldn’t see we will top the league this month unless Arsenal win by 3 goals and ManUtd lost by 2 or more goals.

The final stretch will be exhausting and the fans demand nothing less than 150% from the players. The fans won’t take the sh***y performances like the one against Barca and ManUtd. The players must play like they will die if they don’t win the game. The team need some attitude on the pitch, the no-nonsense attitude that the fans have been demand and crave for.

Next month will be a big month for Arsenal. But before April, the team need to pull out an outstanding result this weekend because I don’t see ManUtd drop points.

Starting from this weekend, please show us the fans that the season isn’t over yet. I still believe and so do many fans out there.

I remember at my post on 30 May 2010 regarding Arsene signing back Jens Lehmann. http://marcmm03.blogspot.com/2010/05/what-if-arsenal-resign-jens-lehmann.html

By that time I do believe Arsenal need to signing back Jens Lehmann since I cannot think any good goalkeeper in the market which was available and affordable to Arsenal. I just didn't think it will happen at this time. But nobody know the future. Who knows tomorrow Almunia might injured himself in the freak accident, like falling from bed and dislocated his shoulder, Lehmann might find himself play for Arsenal again between the stick for the last 10 games. Maybe that is good and if Arsenal manage to win the league, Arsenal will be the first team to field 4 goalkeepers to win the league.

Anyway let back to Lehmann. I like him. He is great. Age doesn't effect him as far as I saw him played last season. I believe he still get what it takes to compete at the top level. Because it is required for a players to play at least 10 games to earn a winners medal, I wish he can play for the last 10 games and help Arsenal win the league back.

Not just this season but the season before. So close and yet so far.

I just don't want to mention about the season previous. It will hurt me more.

When things look rosy by the time Arsenal beat Barca, then came the tsunami of injuries to the important players. Walcott, Cesc, Song and RVP struggling for fitness before Barca game at Nou Camp. Cesc and RVP plays but they look struggling.

Then Szczeshny dislocate his finger. It is a freak injuries to a goalkeeper. The ball look tame but yet it just injured our no.1 goalkeeper.

The Djourou shoulder dislocate. Another freak incident cause the injuries. What have Sagna done? Arghh.....

A well covered Arsenal squad have been depleted yet again. With only Koscielny and Squillaci at the back and Almunia at goal, thing just look so worrying. Why did all this injuries happen at the same time? Why?

Are Arsenal curse? Ohh please Arsene, do something. Pull out the rabbit from your magic hats once more. We really need to win this league.

A big THANK YOU Liverpool. A big win over ManU sure have kept Arsenal title hope alive. Now with 1 game in hand Arsenal is only 3 points behind.

Both team have big games ahead of them. Arsenal still have Liverpool and Spurs to play for and ManU will have Chelsea and Spurs ahead. But the big games of course will be Arsenal vs ManU at Emirates which I believe will decide the title race.

As my previous few post after the 4-4 draw match against Newcastle, no matter how hard the referree try to pull us down we keep on climbing up. Slowly but we still closing the gap thanks to unexpected ManU lost.

And there's one thing I like to emphasise here too. All this while people keep on complaining about Arsenal defense. All over the Arsenal world people keep telling our defense is week. I know that is the case last year. but his year? I doubt it. In fact Arsenal are third better defensive team in the league. Concede 27 goals only behind Chelsea (23) and ManC (25) while ManU (30), I don't think we need to keep on telling defense is the problem here. Arsenal are the better defensive unit now.

Cheer on the team and keep believing. And that is what the team needs now. A full support from the supporter around the world ahead of Barca clash.

Go on Arsenal and win this game for us. We all have faith in the team. Don't let us down.
