Iron Woman / Man - Noosa

What a wonderful day in Noosa with the Iron Woman and Iron Man competitions. A very warm day. The beach is beautiful with a small swell. We had trouble getting a car park - there was so much activity. After having a fantistic breakfast, walking around the shops we retreated to Marcus Beach - to the beach and the pool.

We are having a great time with friends - went to Noosa for breakfast and had the traditional "Betty Blue" and Poached Eggs, we had a walk around the shops and had some friends over for a nice dinner and the children played on the beach and had a swim in the solar heated pool. What a great day!

Up Early

5.30am and sun is already up - behind a large cloud bank out to sea. The sea is calm and the surfers are looking for waves. The crabs have made tracks in the sand as the sea has receded - low tide, a good time to go for a jog. A couple of fishermen are setting up in the early light, with the tide on the turn. Peregian is about 3kms, and there are no foot prints on the beach (yet). As I jog along there is a very large jellyfish washed up on the beach - probably 30 cm in diameter. I walk back, it is getting warm already - summer at the beach! On comming home, I cool off in the pool. Now for some breakfast ...

Black Snake

We are enjoying the school holidays at Marcus Beach. We have walked to Peregian and had breakfast at the Baked Poetry Cafe (eggs in a glass ..), been to Noosa for a Betty Blue and watched them pump sand on the beach, and the family has been to Australia Zoo. Zena wants to be a Tiger handler - she says the Tigers sleep all day so its and easy job! The weather has been fantastic.

We have seen a couple of what we think are red belly black snakes - one in the garden and one from a beach path. We have also seen a bush turkey in our street. We have also seen migrating whales off the beach.

Its good to see that the native wild life is thriving.
