Labor Day Hike the Y

2026-09-10T07:57:58.162-06:00

My dad grew up in Provo, went to BYU for his undergrad and Law School and has been a lifelong BYU Sports Fan and has never hiked to the Y. Since he is aging a little and had a few strokes, he has slowed down but still wanted to get to the top. This Labor Day we made it happen! We gathered the troops that were available and had a great time hiking to the Top of the Y! We celebrated with lunch and ice cream at the Creamery after, what a great day!

BYU Football Season is Here

2026-09-09T07:44:05.556-06:00

The boys got tickets to the first BYU game of the season and we killed Utah Tech. It was Dean's first BYU Game and he loved it, especially eating his first Cougar Tail!

Sunrise Hike at Timp!

2026-08-04T13:25:33.710-06:00

Our ward planned a sunrise hike to summit Mt. Timpanogos and Rosie and I went and loved it! We left Highland around midnight, got dropped off at the trailhead and starting hiking at 1 am. We had about 60 people there. We hiked in the dark for 7 miles and made it to the top at 5:45 am to watch the sunrise come up at 6:15 am! It was quite the sight. We left around 7 am and made back to the cars around 10 am. What a fun adventure. Rosie and I crashed when we got home and took quite the nap!

Back Home to Utah

A few pics of what summer has been like since we got back from Lake Powell.

Rattlesnake

2026-07-27T09:55:06.492-06:00

On out last night there we had an incident. Turner was bit by a rattlesnake and it was chaotic. We had wifi on the boat so we were able to call 911 and they sent out a helicopter to pick him up and take him to the hospital to get treated. He had to fly alone with the flight nurse and pilot on the small helicopter. The next morning Natalie got dropped off at the marina and drive 2.5 hours to meet him in St. George.

He was treated there and is doing a lot better now, almost a week later. It was a scary incident though and we are glad it wasn't worse. Luckily only one fang got him and the amount of venom in his body was less because of that. Still a crazy night and crazy way to end the week on Lake Powell.
