Top Box Review + Giveaway!

Hello!

A couple weeks ago I got contacted by Top Box to review their subscription system! If you're not familiar with it, Top Box is a monthly subscription service, such as BirchBox, Luxe Box, Glymm and a lot of others, that sends you a box filled with 4 or 5 deluxe samples or full sized beauty items for around 10$ a month.

I got sent the second edition of the Top Box ( which is kind of a Top Tube for what I receive.. It's quite different! ), and let me tell you, I was really impressed with what I got! Their objective is to only include top beauty brands in their boxes, and I can't fight about that.

So, here's the tube I received. It's made out of hard cardboard so it's reusable!

Stila Lip Glaze

I'm overall really impressed with Top Box! I have to admit that I like it better than Luxe Box, which was more skin care oriented (I preffer makeup to be honnest). Plus, shipping wise, you get a tracking number sent by email telling you when you'll receive your box! That's always a plus on my side.

Do I recommend it? Absolutely. Do I want to subscribe for future boxes? Of course! Do you want a November box? Well, I have one for you! :) The lovely people at Top Box offered to give one away to my lovely followers! Aren't they nice? :)

Zombified

Hello there!

I just want to do a quick post to show you what I did this year for halloween :) My brother and I went out to reverse trick or treat ( we basically followed children being zombies to scare them out, then we gave them candies..! )

I used liquid latex and toilet paper for the wounds if you were wondering... I'm pretty proud of myself for how it turned out, but I wish I had fake blood and tooth enamel.. It would have made the whole thing even better!

That's it for today :) Even though halloween is over, I'm rediscovering all the fun I have with makeup, and I'm pretty sure I'll continue to play with it !

Oh Hai!

Well Hello!
Remember me? You know, the girl who always put out excuses? Well, I'm back! It's been a few months, I oh so know.. but my life have been quite hectic. Went through my first broken heart experience, after 2 and a half years, through death of a friend, hate, quiting school, getting a full time job, loosing 35 pounds ( and counting ), loosing a whole lot of friends, finding few new ones, turned 18... You know, excuses .. :)

Also, I may say that my computer didn't let me go onto blogger for the longest time... I need a new one asap!

Let's see what happened during the past months... :

First, I got hair feathers :

Then, I got my first tattoo ( yep, it's in my mouth, and also a very fashionable picture ) :

After that, I got my hair dyed blonde :

Then I got another tattoo! (very fashionable picture too, let's be honnest. ) :

Then, I got y hair dyied dark brown :

And we're kind of there in history right now! I plan on getting another tattoo shortly, and I really want to try to be a redhead, or something along those lines...

And since halloween is comming, I've been playing with my makeup a little, here's three looks that I've done recently :)

May 2011 Luxe Box by Loose Button!

May I introduce you all to the Luxe Box by Loose Button. For those who might not know it, this is the equivalent of the Birchbox that is so popular in the United States at this moment, but for Canada! Right now, the service is only starting. It hasn't been launched yet which makes it invite only, or you have to put your name on a waiting list.

Luxe Box still being at a baby stage, everyone gets the same items. Once they launch publicly, they claim that the service will be customize to your own self using the information from the survey that you take when you sign up.

Anyway, let's get to the good, shall we?

I took pictures of what EVERYTHING looks like, from removing the box's lid to up close pictures of the product, for you to see all that there is to see.

When you first open the box, you are greeted with a little card, telling you what products are inside your Luxe Box with a description for each and their full retail price. The only complain I have about this is the fact that they don't include the size of the big item, it's just a little information that would make it even better than it is actually.

The next thing in your face is this teal paper sealed with a coral Luxe Box sticker. It's an interesting color combination, isn't it?

When open the tissue paper, you see this. There's a piece of padding stuff in there, which is awesome. It helps protecting the products against themselves inside the box. FYI, the Luxe box comes in a plastic bubble wrap padded enveloppe.

Here are all the product from this month Luxe Box! As you can see, you get 4 items and 1 treat.

Now let's talk about the products :

1. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

"Considered as one of InStyle's Beast Beauty Buys, this rice-based enzyme powder helps to exfoliate your skin by removing debris, leaving your skin smoother and brighter. Contains no artificial fragrance or color, good for all skin types"

"Directions : After cleansing, dispence intowet hands and create a creamy paste. Massage onto face for one minute, avoiding the eye area, then rinse. Use daily."

The deluxe sample include is 0,45 Oz. or 13 grams. After a little research, I found that the big guy of this is 2,6 Oz. or 75 grams. Knowing that it costs 50$, you get 8,67$ worth of products, not bad, eh?

I haven't use it yet, but I can tell you that you get quite a bit of it. The powder is not chunky but still you can feel that it's harsher than normal powder would be, which will make it a good daily exfoliant. It also smells of citrus.

2. China Glaze Nail polish

"This professional nail lacquer has captured the hearts of bloggers and celebrities alike because of its fabulous finish and easy application. There are lots of bold and exciting colors to choose from that can fit and match your style."

The nice thing about this item is that a couple days before I got my Luxe Box, I got an email telling me that this item would be a full size one to thank me because I bought 3 months worth of this service instead of only one. It was a nice suprise! I like when companies thank their customers by doing things like this.

I got the color Coconut Kiss, but this is the kind of item that everyone got a different color of.

The full size of is worth 7$.

3. Consonant Body Organic Olive Oil body Soap

"One of the brand's signature products. It contains a perfect blend of organic olive oil, beeswax and spring water. It will keep your skin moisturized after each use. It is also appropriate for all skin types and 100% natural and organic."

On the soap, it says:

"Well look at you, you unapoligetically discerning shopper, you. Holding this bar of organic body soap just inches from your meticulously groomed face. Examining every last detail. Ensuring it contains the finest quality natural ingredients. Wondering whether it's safe for all skin types and hoping you are right for such a great product.
Well, it does. And it is. And you are."

Then inside, on the little card:

"Re-hydrate the enclosed loofah slice and rest your soap on it between uses.
Hand made in small batches from the finest quality organic oils, butters and grains.
Feels good to treat yourself like royalty, doesn't it? "

So, to be all honest here, I'm all for the organic and natural soaps.. But the smell of this repulses me a little... I'm really not crazy about it. I will still use it, to see if the product itself is good, and to hope that the scent doens't last on the skin. I however love how the packaging is almost cocky, with an attitude and all.. It makes me laugh! And the idea of the tiny loofah slice is brilliant to me, it will helps drain and dry your soap so it will not be all squishy and slimy the next time you come to use it.

And by looking at the Consonant website, I just discovered that this item is a full sized too! It's worth 12$.

4. Elizabeth Grant Biocollasis Complex Daily Serum

"This high performing anti-aging day serum is good for all ages and helps defend fundamental skin layers through a rich concentration of natural plant extracts, witamins, and enzymes. Apply 2-3 drops every morning on clean skin before moisturizing."

To be honest again, I'm not sure if I will use this. At 17 years old, anti-aging is not a priority of mine quite yet.

The sample size is 10 ml and the full size is 30 ml. Knowing that the big guy is 65$ it means that you get a sample worth 21,67$. Yes. That's crazy. I know.

5. Treat! Hershey Hugs!

Overall, I really like the Luxe Box and I'm happy to know that I still have two months of them comming. At 9,95$ a month, to me it's well worth it! If we do a little math here, mine was worth 49,34$! I would truely recommend you to sign up and try at least one month. You can do so on their website!

I tried something new :D

Hello!

This past weekend, I was in the mood to bake. Since my mama just bought me a set of piping tips ( from Wilton, if you are wondering ), I really wanted to make my good look like pro goods.. :D

So, here the two things I ended up making :) Some cupcakes that I made for a friend's birthday and a cake, for dessert at home !

This is one of the cupcakes, the cake mix itself is a box one.. ( lame I know ) but I had to go fast for those one! I had only a couple hours to make them and frost them! I think they still turned out cute :)

Then this is my next piece of art.. I'm so proud of it! :) I did the cake myself, then I did the roses myself, then I frosted it myself, etc etc :) I think it turned out quite good looking :)

I have a new passion going on!! You'll probably see some more bakery thing on here, but this blog will still be a makeup one! Don't worry :)

Funny Face Beauty's Dare to Wear for Japan!

Oh god.

It's almost been a month since I've post ANYTHING. And I actually don't have any excuses. I've just been lazy, bored, uninspired.. but mainly lazy, I'll admit that!

So, now I'm fully back. I have hauls to post, review to write and make up to put on. Let's start with this :

A couple weeks ago, as you all know, Japan got hit by an earthquake and a tsunami. As a teenager, it was hard to donate money to help, but Alicia (FunnyFace Beauty) had this really awesome idea of doing one of her Dare to Wear challenge for charity again! For each looks done by her followers on her blog, her family will donate 10$ to the Red Cross to help Japan.
Simply awesome, isn't it?

Here's what I came up with. I got inspired by a street fashion look called Yamamba, or Ganguro somtimes.. I'm not an expert, but there's a full historical aspect of one being the oldest trend that led to the other, more dramatic and all.. They're known for:
-Overwelming fake tan
-A lot of white around the eyes and on the cheek bones
-Using a lot of black eyeliner, some girls as also been seen using sharpies and paint pens
-Having over colored hair, with things stuck in it such as flowers, bow, stuffed animals, etc
-Having 'light clothes' on ...
and the list could go on...

So, here's the look! :)

Look at the colour difference between my finger and my face on the last picture... OH man xD

Anyway. It was a really fun look to do! I really enjoyed it :) Plus, it was for a good cause... That makes it a good reason to draw some twiggies on! Right? :)

So today is all about green, isn't it? I came up with this look yesterday to celebrate it!:)

I used :
-SE-02 Pigment from the Shock Effect Stack from Naked Cosmetics (inner corner)
-Bio Green from MAC Pro (middle of the lid to the outer corner)
-418 Pearl from Inglot (outer corner and crease)
-Black single shadow from NYX (outer ''V'')
-477 Double Sparkle from Inglot (lower lashline)
-Going Bananas from MAC (inner corner highlight)
-351 Matte from Inglot (brow bone highlight)
-BlackTrack Fluidline from MAC (top and bottom liner)
-Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara from L'Oréal

I think it came out pretty! I love to keep my lids bright but going dark in the crease.. It adds caracter, definition and attention to have that bright pop there.

Today, I did my make up à la Cora (aka VintageOrTacky on Youtube). She did a tutorial on a dramatic smokey eye starting with the dark color on the lid and fading it out with a lighter one. I thought it look pretty so I ''stole'' her look! Ahah! You can see her fabulous skills here : CLICK!

Bold Look : Cartoonish :D

Hello Everyone! :)

Today, I have another bold look to share.. It's not as bold as some others, but it's blod enough for me to not wear it outside!

Yay! So, Every color in the rainbow that I'm crying in Inglot, the eyes and the eyebrows are from the Naked Palette, the lips are a NYX lip pencil topped with a NYC lipstick with some MAC 3D gliltters added and the blush is a Lorac cheek stamp... And all the outlines are made out of MAC Black Track Fluidline :D

Haul : Nail Polishes from Pretty Indulgent.Com!

Oh. My. God.

I always felt left out of the nail polish bandwagon. Why? Because of that imaginary line between what is called the United States of America and Canada. That line ladies and gentlemens is magic. It makes shipping cost double, triple and sometimes even more.

There's another imaginary line that exist inside the Canada itself too. The line that's all around the Province of Quebec. We, Quebecers, speak french for the most part and have laws to protect our beloved language, but those laws keep stores like Sally's Beauty Supply out of our reach and make it that much more complicated to get stuff.

How ever!

I was reading Scrangie's Blog and she had recently a post about some discount code, one being good for prettyindulgent.com to give you 15% off using the code "scrangie"(good until march 15th). I went over, without any hopes that the shipping would be under 20$... and then when I went to the faqs section I read that if you live in West Island of Montreal, Quebec, or near, you can meet up with the wonderful Maggie herself to save on shipping. I almost fell off my chair!! 15% off and no shipping? HELL YA!

With my order I got a sample of a soap named Krakatoa from Villainess and I'm pleasantly surprise..! When I openned my boxed, all I could smell was that.. and it's pretty good! I like the scent a lot and it's always nice to have a little extra gem in our orders, right? :)

Anyway, comming back onto the polishes.. I'm in love. I feel like an entire world just opened for me where I can now get cool nailpolishes for a decent price.. Just to tell you, I really love Nubar Reclaim, Nubar Absolute, Orly Halley's Comet and Zoya Tiffany at first glance, although I'm super excited for them all :) There's not one that I don't like! :)

February 2011 Faves!

Hello again!

Here for you today is my first favorite post since november of last year! Ahah! :) Things have change a little bit I think!

EYES

Urban Decay Naked Palette
I actually received it this month from a swap I did with a Youtuber that you might know as Saaammage. Let me tell you something... If for some awkward reason other that it's always sold out you haven't bought it... What are you waiting for?? It is seriously one of the best palette you can own, to start with or even if you already have a crapload of shadows. Since I got it I used it a whole lot AND I discovered for the first time a color that work on my brows ( fifth shadow : Buck ). It would be awesome to take on vacation, since it comes with a baby Primer Potion and that awesome double sided Urban Decay 24/7 liner pencil.

Inglot Eyeshadows
Other than my Naked Palette, I've been using those a whooooole lot. They are fantastic to tell the truth! I especially love 450 ( red in the top palette ), 60 ( yellow in the top palette ), 351 ( highlight color in the lower palette ), 11 ( second on the top row in the lower palette ) and 64 ( black in the lower palette ). They are creamy, blendable and worth the price for me! Plus : I love the palette system :)

NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk and MAC Fascinating Eye Kohl
Recently I discovered a love for white eyeliner on my water line. For some reason, I think it really look good and polish, even though some people find it harsh. I really like it with neutral eyes! I think it just look great :) MAC eye kohl stays up good on the water line if you set it with a white shadow but I discovered that the NYX pencil holds really well even without setting! I guess that will make the eye kohl a non-rebuy, but for now, I really enjoy it :) And the NYX pencil is a staple to me in my collection, how ever I use it !

L'Oréal Voluminous Milion Lashes
I don't have much to say other than I looove how this mascara makes my lashes look! It volumises, lenghtens and keep my lashes curled! And I really like the rubber brush it has!

LA Splash Splash Proof Sealer Eyeshadow Sealer/Base
I really don't and woundn't use this as a base since it's really liquidy and dry sticky, but this thing is marvelous with glitters! It makes them stick and stays on your eyelid as long as you want your glitter there! Plus , I got it for less than 6 $ if I recall correctly. If you see this in a store and you like glitter, you should really give it a go :)

Joe Clear Mascara and Brow Gel
It's cheap and does the job, aka keeping my brows from looking bushy! What can I say more than that!?

MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
Since I finished my Buxom Lashliner in Leatherette, I started using this badboy. I think I actually like it more than I loved that Buxom liner! They are almost the same, but the MAC one seems to stay longer on my eyes :) And the fact that you can back to MAC it is a plus for me since I go through gel liner kind of quickly!

MAC Painterly Painpot
The first paintpot I got was Soft Ochre and I quite enjoyed it. When I finished it, I though it would be the time to try another one and I decided to Painterly. I think it works better than Soft Ochre or me since I'm a pink undertoned girl and, if you didn't know, Soft Ochre it yellow based. I think that me and Painterly will have a beautiful story in the future! Us and Primer potion by Urban Decay will see all of my eyelooks :)

LIPS

Lipsyl Lypmoisturizer Original Formula
I've been using it so much these last months that I have barely a little stub left! I really like how silky the balm feels, and how it's a little minty too! I also think that it smells divine :) Yes, the label on it goes away a little, but the overall packaging is cute with the little bee lever on the side and on the cap ! I really love this product, and I need a new one!

L'Oréal Infallible Lipcolor in 399 Beyoncé's Red
One pet peeve of mine would be lipstick smearing all over my face. I hate wearing bold lipstick and always look in a mirror to be sure it's still on my lips and not on my chin! This though, makes me rock the red without worries! That product stays on your lips as long as you don't put something oily on it (like.. Don't eat fried chicken with that on..!) If you do put an oily thing near for whatever reason, it'll flake and be a pain in the butt to remove (that's why I always carry a makeup wipe in a ziploc when I wear this). The red product doesn't have a smell, but dries super sticky, which is why you have the white tube of product! It smells like sweet caramelly candy to me, and it makes the red stain super silky and smooth :)

MAC Wonder Woman Lipglass in Emancipation
I know that a lot of people think that the packaging is idious and ugly, and so did I! But having it in my hands made my mind change. I think it's cute and different :) Anyway, the packaging isn't the point here, it's the gloss! I really like this color! It's a beige with pink, gold, silver and maybe green tiny glitter that looks super nice on the lips! Although it can be kind of sticky, I found myself reaching for it a few times, which is weird to me since I usually don't wear/like lipgloss!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Lilac Pastelle
You may remember that product from last spring since everyone went nuts for this color and 3 others limited edition glosses that Revlon came out with. Well, no worries, they came out this spring too! I actually had some other Revlon lipglosses before, and I quit adore their texture and the color range they have. They are not sticky, super smooth and ou can surely found a color for you, and with a little luck, they'll be on BOGO or something! The only thing that used to bug me was the scents... it's kind of chemical medecine to me.. I got used to it acytually, but I still wish that the scent would be different.. Anyway! I really love this color those past month because of the way it makes my lips look.. A little rosier and a little lighter! It's a really pretty color :)

FACE

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium
I have to admit that medium is a tad to dark for me all year round (the MAC MA matched me... Never trust some counters MA's.. ) and now that I can camouflage in the snow it's even worst, but I still like this powder to camouflage redness and some tiny imperfections! I use a big fluffy brush and put it on sheerly and I make it work! Next time though, I'll pick up light medium on even light or myself!

NYC Sunny Matte Bronzer
To blend the MAC MSF, I've been using this a little around my face and as a contour powder. It's cheap and works super great! I would really recommend this product to everyone, from beginers to pro.

Equate Exfoliating Cleansing Towelettes
These are the makeup wipes I've been using for the entire month of february. I had Equate towelettes before, but when I picked those up I didn't properly read the label.. Can you see? They say "exfoliating"? Well yes! They aren't harsh at all, but they do have little dots all over one side of the wipe and I have to say that I like it very much! It doesn't burn my eyes and remove majority of my makeup! ( I follow with a normal cleanser too usually.. But if there's a night where I just want to sleep, I can go away with one and cleanse in the morning!)

Katy Perry for OPI Collection
I have an entire post on my thoughts and swatches of this collection here, but still, it has to end in my faves. As I said in my post, I got the bigger size of Teenage Dream because it's seriously awesome! Ugh, I can't get enough of it! And I also got the Black Shatter nail polish.. It's really cool! I wasn't aware that it existed before ( I was born in the 90's... I wasn't wearing makeup yet! ) I really like the effect it has on the nails. If I could find China Glaze where I live I would be all over their Crackle polishes!

L.A. Colors Color Craze nail polishes in Jewel Tone and Star Light
I've just been really enjoying glittery nails recently.. Like, a whole lot! When I saw those polishes at Stitches ( a clothing store in Canada ) for 2 for 5$ I had to pick them up. Yes, they are sheer and not so high quality, but I still really love them! Jewel Tone is a Blue and Purple glitter and Star light is a silver holographic glitter.

Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat
I know, I know, Seche Vite is a really bad and dangerous product that will kill everyone who uses it..( Really? -.-'') But I really enjoy it. Since I do my nails usually before bed, I want them to dry super fast to go to sleep, but I used to wait and waking up to sheet marks in them. Seche Vite saved my nails from that and that why I love it that much. It is expensive and I can't get it in a store where I live, but it's really worth it. And anyway, we'll all have to die of something one day, right? xD

MISC.

Travalo Refillable Atomizer
I got it really not to long ago, but I'm already in love! I'm the kind of person that usually forget to put fragrance on in the morning, and this is now always in my bag, just in case. It doesn't leak, it's Aricraft Approved and it's cute. I got mine at Shoppers Drugmart, where they also have a Red one, a Silver one and a Black one. If you are interested in this product it's really worth a look :)

Beyoncé's Heat Eau de Parfum
It's my second bottle of perfume ever in life! I got it when I got my travalo actually, and I love it.. When I first spray it, it's a little flowery but then it evolves to something really yummy and quite interesting on my skin. I am really not good to describe things like that, but take my words for it. It's awesome!

Lush Jungle Conditionner

I got a sample of this in a Lush store because I heard a lot of people talking about how great it is. Well, this is all I got left of my sample and I'll go buy a chunk! I adore how it makes my hair feel. It's way better than any conditionner I've ever used in my life! And I like the natural earthy scent it has too! If you ever go to Lush, definatly ask of a sample to try it. It's so worth it :)

Review : Katy Perry Mini Nail Laquers by OPI

My oh my.

Ever since I saw preview on bigger nail blogs, I've been craving this collection. Yes, it's small.. But my love for Katy Perry and glitters explode inside me when I saw the swatches. The Queen herself could say that these are the worst nail polish ever, I would have still bought them to try them. I was sad when I saw that the beauty salon didn't received the full sized collection with the shattered top coat, but they'll soon. I'll have a post dedicated to the top coat actually ! But before hand, here's me blabbering about those four polishes!

First of all, I got this pack of 4 baby sized nail polish for 14,99$. They're each 3,75 mL or 1/8 Fl Oz, compared to 15 mL or 1/2 Fl Oz for a full sized. Where I live, that pack is a tad more expensive than one full bottle, and to me it sounds like a pretty good price! ( If you do the maths -> 1/8 times 4 is 1/2... So getting the 4 mini bottles for the price of one is actually not quite a bargain, but still not a steal. )

First Color : The One That Got Away

This is a red, obviously, but depending on the light, it passes from a dark winey red color to a brighter rasberry-ish red. There's also tiny silver sparkles in it that sometimes look light red since the polish itself is quite sheer. Overall, it works well with my skin color, that I'll call uberly light, but I feel like it's dupable. Don't get me wrong! I really love the glow that it gives when it's on, and I actually don't have anything like it ( I don't have that many nail polishes .. ), but you may want to take a look at your collection before going out and buy it :)

Here it is with 3 coats on! Sorry for the fingerprints all over.. That's what you get for having a glass table!

Next : Teenage Dream

One word : LOVE! Simply love. If you had to pick any of the colors from those 4, and maybe from any polishes in the whole world.. This one. And I'm not joking! This is my favorite polish of all the one I own. It's a pink jelly based polish loaded with tiny pinky-silver sparkles and hexagonal holo glitters. Tell me that doesn't sound delicious! If you get it, don't get discouraged by the first coat. It'll be super sheer. But with 3 coats... Pure Yummyness!

The middle finger is actually the more accurate one. I don't know why the finger on the left look so light actually! But anyway.. You should close your mouth now.. I know it's watering for this pretty polish, but your keyboard will not love it if it starts leaking like a waterfall!

Then : Last Friday Night

This one is a liar. I know! You're thinking of a pretty jelly bright blue polish, but no, liar, it's more of a glitter top coat to me! ( I actually founded a combo with it that will make me buy a full size of it probably... pictures below! ) Anyway... Prepare yourself for some coats over coats over coats if you want to wear it on it's own! It has the same hexagonal glitters that Teenage Dream has, but instead of tiny pinky-silver sparkles, it has tiny blue shimmers and silver mini flakes.

Yes, this is 3 coats.. You can see the white tips of the nails and how sheer it is... Hopefully, I tried this :

Bad and blurry picture, I know.. And the color accuracy is not the best... But you get the idea! Last Friday Night over the Suede finish Russian Navy...They seriously fit perfectly!! Plus, in this photo, you can see the difference of a baby bottle next to mama bottle!

Lastly : Not Like The Movies

This is actually my less favorite one, and it's not because of the sheerness or the texture...Just because the color itself is not my cup of tea. It actually works well on my skin and all.. So I'll wear it, but there are a lot of colors that I like over this particular one. It's like a metallic Silver Green Purple colors with baby silver flecks. And you surely need 3 coats, like any polishes from this collection.

So that's all for this uber long post! I hope it helps someone in some way! If I had to recommend ANYTHING, I would say Teenage Dream ALL the way. Of course, if pink and/or glitter is not your type, I'm not stressing you to get it.. but if you think you might like it, GO. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Nail of 2 days ago : First attempt at patchwork.

Hello!

I learned the patchwork technique from Erika, the author of Chloe's Nails ( and I found her blog through SayAnythingBr00ke on YouTube ). You basically "mask" you nails with scotch tape to make this! It's easy, fun and doesn't require any type of skills except patience. :)

As you can see, I'm dealing with tip wear ( that's what happen when you're moving your bedroom from the first floor to the basement.. ) and my lines aren't that crips. I guess that perfection will come with time.. I would recommend something even though this is my first try at it.. Put the lightest color near the nail bed and not the tip! Because my tips are light, I always have the impression that my nail as chipped. It might only be a mental thing.. Oh well, :)

I used :
-Joe Fresh Dupioni as the base color
-Joe Fresh Midas for the gold color
-Joe Fresh Imperial (the bottle in the picture) is the dark purple
-Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Black Out for the black triangle
And Seche Vite as my Top Coat !

Voilà! :)

It's super easy, I really recommend you to try it out! Do your own color combination too! It's really fun and easy to do while watching a good movie or tv .

15 random facts ? Oh yea.

Hi Gorgeous readers!

Just to let you know. I've been trying to record and publish a video on Youtube recently since I got a pretty good camera ( got meaning borrowed from my brother here! ), but I keep failing. I'll try again to make it work, but it's hard! Editing and stuff.. By brain hurts just from writing those words.

Annnnnyway.

FunnyFace Beauty, aka Alicia, posted a 15 random facts about herself recently and since it was quite an interesting post, I'll try to find 15 things that may interest you, or may not, I've only been on earth for 17 ( and a half ) years, keep that it mind!

Here we go ...

1. When I was younger, maybe 7 or 8 years ago, I started a really huge obsession about Sponge Bob. I had stuff with him all over. Pajamas, school bags, posters, stuffed animals, etc etc. I was known to be "the Sponge Bob Freak " and even started my own fan club. That obsession lasted 5 or 6 years.

2. I have a hard time doing super elementery things, such as knowing instantly my left and my right and read time on non-digital clocks. That doesn't make me a dumb person, right?

3. I used to be very crafty. When I was younger, I was drawing all the time, painting, glueing things on other things, etc etc. I also had a love affair when I discovered scotch tape. That thing has been taken away from me by teachers a lot at school! I also used to be good at origami.

4. Some of you might be tired of hearing this, but my main language is French ( from Quebec, and no, it's not like French from France.. There's a lot of similarities, of course, but it's really different still ). That being said, the educational system in Canada make you learn the 2 national languages ( french & english ). I started learning english when I was 7 or 8 years old, learning a little bit of grammar and verbs.. Saying the usual Lea goes to school and all, but still, most of the people who speak french here have a really hard time with english ( surely vice versa ). The way that I got to learn english is by myself, with the help of the Youtube beauty community. I still to mistakes ( a lot xD ) but I can communicate, and I'm proud of it :)

5. I was raised with my mom, my dad and my also my two brothers. We used to not being really close ( that might be explained by the fact that we are 10 and 11 years apart ) but as of today, we are actually close, and I cherish that relationship.

6. Through my life, I had a cat ( that we gave to my aunt because my mom turned out to be allergic ), a fish ( a beta, and he lived for 4 years ), a dog ( which is now 5 years old :D ) and a hamster ( wish is a year old now ).

7. I hate hate hate when others take pictures of me. I'm far from the perfect body and I have troubles accepting myself. I developped a way to take pictures of myself which doesn't make me look as hubby as I truely am and those are the only pictures that I accept of myself. (that's a sad fact.. )

8. On a funnier note, I can put both of my ankle behind my neck. And I can also "fold" myself in half. And I will NOT include pictures xD

9. I am a little weird about things sometime, like hitting the stop button of the microwave when there's one second left or having the toilet paper going the right way... Anyone else do little weird things like that?

10. Before I discovered the make up universe, I was a super tomboy. That was 3 years ago.. xD

11. I hate to shop for clothes. I usually live in jeans or sweatpants and t-shirts. Actually, when I found a type of t-shirt that I like, I buy it in every color. I don't have "cute stuff" and I am super okay with that!

12. People hate to sleep ( like sleep overs.. no twisted minds here!! ) with me because I move a lot and also "fold" myself ( that how I loooove to sleep :D ). I also use to be a really bad sleepwalker, putting myself in the bathtub, closet or just fall back asleep in the hallway. My parents were so used to it that they were just helping myself walking to the bottom part of my bed ( not the sides.. the part where your feet should be ) and just push me right back in.

13. At my prom, there was a thing that EACH person got an award for something.. And I got the gossip girl one.. You can get your own conclusion for that...

14. I never got any broken bones but being really clumsy I did a lot of damage to myself xD When I was maybe 8, I ask a friend if I could try his BMX... And I was going pretty fast and had the great idea to press the break. His being reverse, I break with the front wheel, passed over the bike, flew for a couples meters and scratch one side of my face and one leg pretty bad.. I also drop down my high school stairs one day and open my knee ( three years ago ) and still have the mark ( I guess that it's now a scar ). It's seriously huge like.. a MAC blush ... But anyway.. out of every injures I got, the most painfull thing that happened to be was 11 months ago, when I got my tonsils removed. When I was 5 minutes away from the actual intervention, my mom told be that to her, it was worst than giving birth if that can give you an idea of how it feels.. Serious most pain I ever felt.. and it lasted two full weeks.

15. It took me 2 days to came up with 15 slightly interesting things about myself. Ohhh well!

I hope you had a little fun learning things about me :D I'll have other post comming, don't worry! I just really tr to understand how to make the camera thiny work.. It's hard!!

What I got for Christmas!

Hello!

So this is going to me my what I got for christmas post, and trust me, the picture above represent ALL I got ( exept for money and Gift Card to the movies and the mall which I almost already spent entirely (things I bought with that money that I have at the moment are in this post ) ). I did not only showcase the "makeup" stuff. I got ONLY makeup, and pajamas + socks, but that doesn't count, everyone get those, right? :)

If some of you want to know, I had a great christmas overall with the person I love. I saw friends and close-close-close family, which is all that kind of matter to me. My mom being raised with 9 brothers and sisters who have kids that have kids that will maybe soon have kids... I seriously will NEVER want to see them ALL at the same time! The less headaches I have, the better I feel !

So, onto the present! Be assured that I thanked everyone that gave me everything, even a christmas hug !:) I'm gratefull for everything that I got and even if it's hard, I try not to take a thing for granted.

First of, I got my very first makeup mirror, because believe it or not, I used to do ALL my make up, even the crazy things, with a pocket mirror... I know, it sounds super ridiculous, but now I feel a lot better to have my two hands free while applying things all over my face!

Then I got a box which was painted by one of my mom's friend only for me :) That means that it's the ONLY one like that in the world and that I'm the lucky girl who as it ! My mom got it mainly so that I can carry my brushes and a little make up in a sturdy box so that my brushes don't break apart and that the make up stay safe. I like it really much and for now, it's a decoration on my desk :)

Then I got some MAC stuff from my boyfriend, my mom and I also bought some with a gift card.
-I got MAC Fix + mainly because I always wanted it. I used it a couple time for foiling shadows and pigments and I like it very much! I no longer believe the " You can use water, it'll do the same job "! Fix + works way better in my book.

-Then I got 3 lipsticks, one from Back to Mac-ing and two from my mom!
The first one, Please Me, is a matte lipstick. It's seriously not as drying as I thought it would be, but do not have chap lips under that! It'll look so gross and patchy ( talk about experience here!! ).
Then the two next one which are the one that my mom got me ( you knew that already huh? You can't back to MAC for Viva Glam! ) are the Viva Glam Cyndi and Viva Glam Gaga. Those are a lot more forgiving on winter lips ( again, experience is in the house! )

-The next thing is Painterly paintpot, which I got to replace my Soft Ochre one which is dead-done. I think I like it better since it has a pink undertone which suits my skin a lot better!

-Beside that is something my boyfriend got me, the Black Track Fluidline. Remember that Buxom Leatherette lash liner!? Well I used it 'till nothing was left. I needed a new Gel Liner since it's basically all I used to do my winged liner and I kind of said it to my boyfriend.. So now I have a new one! I started using it on the 1st.. Let's see how much time it takes to go through!

-Then there's Gesso Eyeshadow, matte basic white, that I got from my boyfriend also. You can also see in those pictures how I depot my eyeshadow by the way! :) I'm a nerd who like to depot MAC things.. And I'm so serious.. :)

-The last MAC item is Dame Powder Blush which is a satin finish ( my large pore like matte or satin, no shimmers and/or glitters! ). I haven't played with it quite yet, but it's an occasion to see how I depot blushes.. I put a round piece of magnet underneath the stickers :)

Then, I got some MARK/Avon things.
-I got those 2 MARK make up bags which are SO pretty to me, I LOVE them! ( and I've been bugging my mom for them since ... June? July? ahah! )
-Then there was those to Avon product in my stockings. One of them is a Nourishing Banana & Coconut Milk shower gel and the other is an Antibacterial hand gel in Nourishing Vanilla. I haven't tried these yet.

The next thing up is 16 Glamour Doll Eye Full Sized loose shadows. You might be like " Phhft!? 16 !? I learned to count at 5 and I aint no see 16! " well, you're kind of half right. There was a slight mistake in my order that made me the owner of two Trophy Wife and left out without Lovers Lane ( which is red ). It was quickly fixed by the lovely Vee and I'll get it soon :) ( as well as other things, but that another story ). Right now I can say much, I haven't played enough with them, but I love them so far!!

I know, it wasn't the place for swatches, but I couldn't resist! Those are one swipe swatche.. I KNOW, RIGHT!? Crazy! Crazy in love!! My boyfriend got me an Inglot Palette for christmas ( I was with him, I choose the colors ) I cannot leave this thing... I'm SO in love, it's insanely bad xD I really want ( and will, I'm sure of that ) will get more and more Inglot shadows. It'll be an easy task for me, I live near 3 different stores! Expect tutorials, Eyes of the day and loads of things comming out featuring this bad boy <3

Not much to say here, but worth the mention. In my stocking there was 3 eye brows razor thingy and 2 nail files! Those things can always come in handy!

Next up is the is the one before last christmas actual gift, which occurs to be the L'Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara that one of my aunt gave to me. I asked for it since I really wanted to try it! Not being a fan of the regular clumpy Voluminous mascara, I really enjoy this one! I'm such a rubber bristle lover :D

Then I got myself the Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye make-up remover, which I'm not sure about yet.. It's says oil free but it's so oily at the same time... I dont know.. We'll see!

Then there's the LA Slash Splash Proof Sealer Eyeshadow Sealer/base that I got myself on recommendation from Petrilude. He swears that it's THE things to keep glitters on your eyeball and since it was only 7$, I picked it up!

The two Wet n Wild palette were bought a week before christmas, but I wanted to put them in a "haul", so here they are. The left one is Night Elf, who came with a kind of good eyeliner, and on the right is Snow Sprite, who came with a crappy silver eyeliner. As for the palette themselves, they really good! I enjoy the Color Icon range a lot!

Then I got myself some lush with christmas money! If you're not aware of it, Lush have CRAZY deals starting on dec. 26. Every thing christmas is BOGO free and so are every soaps! I got a little more than that, but they're for a lovely friend of mine, so they're not featured here.
-First, I got a 40$ worth of Angel's Delight ( or as you can read it, in french we say "Délice des Anges" and that sounds kind of soft and sensuals xD Oh well ) I ask if the manager ( like, the manager there actually WORKS in the store, and she's so feakin sweet! ) to divide the price in half since I wanted a big chunk of it, and she kindly did it for me!

-I also got a Candy Cane bubble bar, simply to use it since it smells so dang good,

-And I also got a " Matriochka ". It's like the russian dolls, you know, there's a doll in a doll who ate a doll etc etc etc!? Well same concept here! There's two piece of Soap outside that smell like the So White Bath Bomb ( or like apple if you're not that cool to know ( just kidding :D )) and inside there's an actual So White bath bomb ( remember? it's the apple scented one! ) and a cinders bath bomb ( which smells like cider actually ).

Then from Loblaws which is a grocery here in Canada, I got some Joe Fresh Cosmetics ( yes, I went in the grocery ONLY for makeup, it doesn't mean that I have a problem or anything... right? )

- I got a set of Joe Nail Polishes that I haven't used yet but I'm sure they're fantastic.. I fell in love with them when Alicia Aka FunnyFace beauty sent me one... They stay on my nails 10 times better than my OPI ones!

-Next thing is a Joe Fresh Lip Gloss in Poppy. Out of the tube it doesnt smell good at all, but after only a few few few seconds, the smell goes away and you're left with a really pigmented lip gloss, as of now, I like it.

-Then I got a Clear mascara and brow gel ( don't you love those easy names!? ) for my brows.. Mine are thick enough to only be tamed, no filling needed!

-Lastly is their Fine tip liquid eyeliner in Black. I had it before and remember liking it, so I thought why not!?

Last picture, but surely not the least...

My dad went to see some family with my grandmother in California, home of Dinair Airbrush. My parents and I talked about airbrush for a little while, like way before my dad knew he was going in Cali, and I told them that I was interested and all but never really though that I would get it! Just before he left we were talking about it and browsing their website and he saw that where he was going was super close from the Dinair Head Quarters and talk about it with my mom. Since this kit fell into the Christmas Budget this year ( no money questions please, those things doesn't regard you guys! ) They agreed on getting me a starter kit. This is by far most present I ever got for Christmas and I'm really happy! I'm still trying to get the hands and skills on this.. It's kind of hard!!

I really hope that you guys enjoy this post, it took me a little to gather up everything, but now I'm happy that it's all done :)
