I am so ready for spring

I might as well try to stuff it in my car.

It will be couple more months of winter weather for me on the other side of the screen. Maybe I'll get some signs of real spring coming somewhere mid-April, and it is still February.

Valentine's day is coming and although I am not into dating in SL myself it is still exciting - we have grand gala coming in the ballroom, few hunts are going in my store (it is nice to see people popping in and looking for hunt items hidden around) ad the grid is full of hearts and roses. It feels like spring.

That's the great advantage of having a virtual world to escape in for a few hours when I feel like it. Possibilities here limited only by imagination... and, well, time. And even though it isn't "real" it feels like it. It feels good to go surfing on virtual beach in the middle of winter, or stuff a car full of flowers. Feels nice to decorate mine and sister's houses with them. She might smile and I might smile as well, and that means something.

She is the sweetest, I am telling you. No, not the one in the picture. This is actually me hanging out with my teen alt Lisa, because Sweetkiwi was called into the ballroom at the last second. Seems like at least one of us has to guard the castle, and while I am busy playing with my camera and windlights, she gets to manage one of the most romantic places in Second Life.

It's all good though, I'll pull her into another one.

"There is only 5 colors though, - said I. - So some will have to be twins".

We still could tell them apart if we would make twin goats wear differently colored sweaters, but that's the question for another day.

I need to take a break. Too much terraforming, jumping between the farm and a sandbox, digging trough my inventory for long forgotten landscaping pieces... my head is spinning. Tomorrow I will be the one making a trail of hay to the ballroom and sister will probably be tending her BeYou crops. Or maybe taking her horse for a ride.

This one might look serene, but trust me, it has been taken in a hurry. Even leaving aside the fact that RL is going out of deep hibernation after holidays, my SL has been crazy busy. My sister Sweetkiwi recently said that we are making a trail of hay to the ballroom and to my delight it rings true.

It is interesting to watch a ballroom grow from the point zero, from the day I've heard "Oh, I'm going to that new place opening party" and through 7 weeks till now. It's called Love & Harmony and I love it there.

I am getting used to hosting. Was thrown into it as a newborn kitten into a sea, but hey, I learned swimming! And it is fun. For an introvert like me it is almost lifesaving as well - I do enjoy being sociable from time to time and feel lonely if I don't. Buuuut it takes some external force to get me out of my lair. My SL family does that to me from time to time, but we all are grownups and should not babysit each other.

So it is good, and fun, and exciting.

As well as our other little project which is building a farm. I really should make some pictures of it to tell the story, but for now just saying that I have been building and landscaping and decorating and tending horses would be enough. Add blogging on top of it, poking my store with a stick to see if it is alive and keeping up with old friends - and there you have it, a trail of hay going right into the ballroom.

Good thing most gowns are long enough to hide rain boots underneath.

As for many others my love affair with WoD started from introduction to Vampire the Masquerade books and an odd fascination with creatures of the night. I started out by not knowing much and spending sleepless nights reading and learning, and falling deeper into rabbit hole. It has been 11 years now since I played my first WoD character, and now I morphed from fascinated neonate to a full time Storyteller (and prefer fae to vampires, but that's a story for another day).

In Second Life I keep playing with clothes and eploring LOGO mesh heads. As for the latter - so far thing that impresses me most is detailing. These little things, like Tilleie's unique chin shape or gentle balance of proportions that makes Mae look a tad childish - these really give personality to avatar's face. Lively animations these heads have is a nice bonus.

For a while now an idea of setting up a fantasy character lived it's separate life in my mind, postponed until I have more time or will get inspired by one of many roleplay regions on the grid.
I guess the time has come, so I've grabbed a LOGO Tille head and a bunch of beautiful dresses from Redeux Event, and started to play with them until I ended up with this redhead I will be calling Braveheart (because Disney, yeap).
She might have be better as an alt, thinking of it, but I am pretty happy with her regardless.
