If you want to get your toes wet with studio strobes you most likely don’t want to break your bank account. This is especially true if you are on a budget. But this shouldn’t withhold you from getting started either.

You can start your studio strobe adventure with gear around the $100,- per strobe and this will be enough for now. I always suggest to get to the edge with the gear you have before you upgrade and go to the next level. At least this is my upgrade strategy.

No, this blog isn’t suddenly about browsers and this kind of stuff but this post is much less off topic than you might think in the first place. There is one issue with Firefox that annoyed the crap out of me lately.

It’s not the one that Firefox doesn’t start because it’s already (invisible) active in the background. No, as with every application you can easily solve this by shutting down the task in the task manager.

The most annoying issue is that Firefox will freeze ten or twenty times a day stating that it’s not responding. Sometimes it will come back to life again sometimes it will not before my patience has vanished.

So it was time for a solution.

Alas, there was not a real solution on-line I could find that wouldn’t have some bad side effects I didn’t want to cope with. However, after fiddling around a little with some of them I found this very simple one described in the video above and I really hope that it will work for you as well.

      Yes, for the first time since I started this little series I could resist the temptation to draw a female character.

      Another premiere is that I’m in real time in the video itself rather than speeding it up and doing the voice over. I thought this would cause me to stay within the five minutes.

      And as you can see: forget about that!

      This time you see me obey the guidelines I prepare for this drawing in Manga Studio entirely. This is because I want to give you a basic of how you can create something just by starting with some basic lines and shapes and then going from there.

      Next time I’m doing a female character again but I will be in the video again even though the rendering of the video project takes forever this way.

      As this week RAW file by Jared Polin contains without a doubt a cool looking model it’s time to participate in the weekly RAW edit thing. Yes, again.

      This time I also have a little critique on the image itself.

      In fact it also involves a little tip as I said in the beginning of this video: never touch the model. Ever. At least not if it is not your partner or a very good friend.

      So, if you would have shot this image and the model would have been hired or joined the shooting on TFP-basis and you would have seen that the string of her dress was twisted, you would have attended her on this. This way the model can correct things like that herself and no awkward or uncomfortable situations occur.
