2013 Resolutions *

With 12 days left in 2012, it is time for me to sit back and reflect on the happenings of this year and start making some changes for the upcoming 2013. I’m not saying that I will complete and fulfill everything on my list but here’s hoping most of them will materialize for the betterment of me, myself, and I.

1. To avoid making new Fake Friends

If you don’t already know, Fake Friends are those who sneak up on you; initially befriending you with their wit charm and grace. So you start opening up to them, confiding your deepest darkest thoughts and emotions, all the while thinking they’re real friends who love you for yourself.

After a while, you notice that implications are being made in a negative way to you as a person. You however, refuse to be confrontational so you give these fake friends the benefit of the doubt; willing yourself to believe that all the negative things you think they’re saying about you is merely a figment of your imagination. Like a fool, you continue to be friends with these fake friends; investing your true emotions, time and effort in this friendship.

When you least expect it however, these fake friends decide to speak their mind to the world, making it a point to diss you online instead of coming directly to you and addressing whatever issue they supposedly have with you. You are bewildered at what had transpired and though the initial hurt and disbelief never really fade, you eventually decide to pick yourself up and move on without the negativity of these fake friends.

That’s Resolution number 1.

2. To continue with my Blockbuster Diet (BD)

If you know me well, you would understand and appreciate my quirkiness when it comes to dieting in order to control my yo-yo weight. I put on weight as easy as ABC. Hence the never ending BD but don’t get me wrong people! When I say BD, I am not talking about a major diet where I starve myself silly and end up anorexic or something. I will eat less - that is my only form of diet. Oh and I will increase my house chores at home because that is also my only form of exercise.

There is definitely no call for concern when I’m on a diet nor is there a need for insignificant ticks in my life to be rude by disrespecting my belief to lose weight as unnecessary nonsense. If I want to polish off a box of donuts while watching my ‘stupid’ TV shows and then BD my guilt away, so be it! Me wanting to lose weight or maintain whatever I have is my own business and certainly not yours. If anyone is unhappy with me and my dieting ways, by all means unfollow me on Twitter. I do not need negativity in my life so ticks be gone and let me diet in peace.

That’s Resolution number 2.

3. To work harder on my copywriting business by focusing more on work instead of the trivial stuff mentioned above.

4. To make more money to fund yet another awesome trip abroad!

That’s about all I can think of for now. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all my true-blue friends who I know love me for myself and have never once rejected me merely for the so-called differences in our personalities. I love my friends for this very reason and besides our shared similarities; it is also our differences that make us click!

Last night I heard this song on TV and immediately fell in like with it so I thought I’d feature this number for Music Monday. I think it’s a wonderful collaboration between Joe Flizzow and Ila Damiaa so I hope you’ll like my selection this week too.

Featuring Joe Flizzow on MM reminds me of the time B and I attended the first Malaysian Idol finale in Genting with a bunch of our good friends way back in 2004. We managed to take photos with some of the contestants and local celebrities during the post party including one with Joe Flizzow.

Charming and traditional all at once, I do think this result suit my beauty style pretty well. Plus, I’m most comfortable in jeans, which is why I stock up on a few pairs every few months. ... And BINGO was his name-O! Yes, I know the song but I don’t play the game!

I used to play Bingo when I was a kid but never did get hook on it as much as I am addicted to my other favourite games. And though our visit to the casino in Singapore last May offered me the opportunity to play for a little ka-ching (if I’m lucky with this game of chance!); I decided to play slots instead of Bingo. Slots are seriously way more fun than Bingo I think, but to each her own and this is just my preference.

Always no luck, grrrrr!

Thanks to my iPad 2, I am able to download more new games whenever I am bored with my current collection so I decided to rekindle my Bingo moments by checking out free Bingo games to download and play.

There were so many to choose from and I took my time to go through the first 2 pages of Bingo games online before narrowing down my choice to 3. By the way I’ve nicknamed my iPad 2 as GamePad because seriously, all I ever use it for is to play games, night and day! Does that make me a game addict?

After playing each version of Bingo downloaded to my iPad 2; I have to say that while Bingo is an easy play, I still prefer the Lava Games I’m currently hooked on especially Fashion Story! Bingo is cool but I need more of a challenge when playing games and since this game of chance pretty much depends on luck and there’s not a whole lot of action going on, I am sticking to my addiction to Fashion Story for now.

Ever since I started playing Fashion Story three months ago, I have not stopped playing! Want to see the latest pictures of my boutique?

I can’t sleep, I can’t eat, and I can’t blog or do pretty much anything else these days! All thanks to my new addiction to a few and by a few, I mean 5 games on my iphone4!

It is madness because all I want to do is breed new fluffy animals for my zoo, bake goodies for my bakery, serve yummy delights at my restaurant, mix fancy drinks for my nightclub and last but not least, stock up my brand new boutique with the most gorgeous selection of dresses, accessories and shoes. HELP!

So this explains my absence from the blog world. I’m alive and kicking … just totally wrapped up in my boutique, aptly named Forrester’s Creations after the Forrester’s design house in my favourite soap Bold & Beautiful.

I can’t wait for my hair makeover tomorrow! I’ve already made an appointment with my hairstylist and it will be a whole-day affair. I need to chop off my locks, do treatment and all the other necessary processes to get me looking good and away from the 'wifey clown' image I’m currently sporting!

I’ve been thinking about this makeover for days and I’m sure you ladies out there understand what I mean when I say cutting hair/changing hairstyle is a big issue. Your makeover can turn out simply scent-sational OR totally unlike the image you’ve initially conjured inside your head. I wanna go short but not too short. I would love to come out of the salon tomorrow looking like a million bucks though! Jennifer Anniston truly does have the best hair doesn’t she?

However, I am very well-versed with the workings of my hair and its texture etc and I am very familiar with my facial features and whatever shortcoming they have. So as much as I would love to sport this sleek and short new hairdo, I know it won’t turn out exactly like this. My hair is oh-so-thick, which means I’d have to really thin it down with a heavy-duty straightening or by ironing every few weeks to avoid a poofy (as my friend Ane, would say) look and I’m not sure I have the patience or the diligence to do so!

Wish me luck for tomorrow’s makeover then. I also need to shop for a new outfit for dinner plans with friends this weekend. I’ve not seen most of them in ages so I gotta look my best if you know what I mean? Wonder how much this makeover is gonna cost me!

A big fan of John Waite and Bad English, I am featuring a scent-sational number, which sadly was one of the more underrated songs from this rock group and yet it is one of their best. Have a listen and I hope you like it too.

Nothing to Wear!

The same old problem rears its ugly head whenever I open my closet to get dressed. I see plenty of jeans, t-shirts, blouses, dresses, skirts … and yet I still scream to B “I have nothing to wear”! As usual, he will dismiss my 'nonsense' with a standard “There, got plenty of stuff to wear whaaaaaat”!

I’m thinking it’s just difficult for guys to understand what goes on behind the words “Nothing to wear”. Yes there are plenty of clothes stuffed inside my closet but do they fit the way I feel? There are days when I feel like nothing looks good on me, especially when I am feeling F.. or bloated or even when I’m having a bad-hair-day and whatever I pick out doesn't seem to complement my look. Sounds like a trivial problem perhaps but trust me, it is a worrying one and more so when I have a date with friends!

Anyway, this weekend is a working one for my Darling so I’m hoping he’ll take tomorrow off so we can shop for new clothes. Right now however, I’m cooking for I would like to send B off to work with a full tummy.

Later, I plan to do a little online shopping at an awesome site I discovered, which sells custom T-shirts and funny posters for some of my favourite TV shows like American Idol, Weeds, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and more! I noticed a few soaps too like All My Children and General Hospital but too bad Bold and Beautiful aren't offering any merchandise items. I would love to collect mugs and tees and what not of B&B especially those featuring my not-so-secret crush Ridge Forrester!

Besides tees, there are also adorable mugs, funny demotivational poster, bags, bumper stickers, teddy bears and other cool stuff. It’s definitely a wonderful place to shop for unique gifts as well so you might want to drop by the site too. Hmmm, maybe I should get a personalized mug like this one!

Scents from Singapore! *

I love perfume shopping in Scent-sational Singapore! The last time I went to Singapore, I came home with a whole bunch of miniature perfumes for my perfume gallery, 4 different sets to be exact AND a big bottle of CK Eternity Summer for my spritzing pleasure!

That was one of the best perfume shopping sprees ever so you can imagine how pleased I was with my latest perfume purchases from our recent trip to Singapore. Once again, I got most of my minis from Changi Airport, which I daresay offers some of the best duty-free deals around!

Oh and I finally got a new bottle of scent for my Darling too. B is a stickler for Hugo Boss, which smells great on him. Let's see the latest addition to my perfume gallery shall we?

Sensational Singapore - Victoria's Secret *

This is a terrible picture of me but it's also the only one B took of Victoria's Secret during our Singapore getaway last weekend so here goes!

We had spent the whole day in Universal Studios Singapore and VS was the last stop of the day before heading back to our hotel. I was hot, sweaty, exhausted and definitely in no mood to pose for a good picture!

I was however excited to finally shop in a real Victoria's Secret store after so long! I usually get my VS stuff from friends who travel abroad. KL has yet to launch an outlet here so until then, it's shopping via friends or online when it comes to Victoria's Secret.

No pictures allowed inside but basically the Victoria's Secret store in Singapore is rather small. Lingerie and fashion accessories are limited and the bulk of items available revolve around the scented products. Everything is a little pricey too and since I still have a lot of unopened VS scented products at home, I was extra careful in choosing my one single purchase!

After browsing for a good twenty minutes, I finally decided on the Bombshell set, which came with a gorgeous silver bag! Frankly, it was the bag that caught my attention and the accompanying scent is a current bestseller so I was sold!

I have never been a bag person but lately, I find myself drawn to bags whenever I shop and even purchased another white one too this Singapore trip! Totally loving my new VS bag and can't wait to show it off!
