When you’re young, all you’re looking for is personality. Charm. (ok guilty) Compatibility in music and book taste and food preferences. The moment I saw her working magic for her thin lashes, I loved her already. and isn't is so human to like someone with the same problem? haha.

One thing I learned about cleaning out the clumps from mascara is using your fingers to 'curl-comb' the strands from underneath. I suck for not curling my lashes before applying mascara but 1. I didn't have a decent curler and 2. I've experienced falling hair (the eye version!) due to the insistent pa-girl that I've imposed on them. Thankfully, the mascara I used was good, relatively cheap, and had a nice animal print packaging ...which I guess helps you have the guts to pile it on! :p It's Maybelline Cat Eyes, Php 400-ish

For the eyes naman, I used Ocean palette from Clarins, which has a googled price range of $30-$50. If you know me in real life, you'd have guessed that its obviously a gift. :)) It comes with an applicator which I only use when applying the baklang barbie pink shade (second from left) in the inner eye crease. Other than that its magic fingers all the way. The only downside to the shade is that you have to be prim enough to make sure it stays on the upper lid, a little tinge on the bottom lid comes off like an itchy allergy spot, which is universally not cute at all. :p

The ones above are the other things I used. Leftmost is Nichido Eyeliner in Vivid Turqoise, 80 bucks lang and for some reason, they've formulated it better now than when I bought their white eyeliner which Candy magazine recommended a few years back. THAT didn't "write" and I felt so cheated by my best friend (yes, I mean Candy mag, kadirs :p)

The second from Left is FaceShop's Blemish Balm, o mas kilala sa pangalang BB Cream. I first learned about Face Shop when I went on exchange program sa Seoul 3 years ago cause there was virtually a Face Shop in every major block. You could even polish yourself up on the way to a party if you wanted to kasi andaming testers and oil removers and cottom pads. I initially found it racist when I walked into their store in MegaMall and found that they only sold a <s>BLACK</s> dark shade of BB cream here. But it turned out to be good since it doesn't have that "white face effect" upon contact with a flash camera.

Finally , since I'm not quite fond of my lips, I make sure it doesn't have any sparkling thing, or chapping party going on. Organic Lip balm from human heart nature will do the trick. (: They have one in chocolate too but if you're a choco wacko then you'll most likely end up licking the life out of your lips, which'd make it dry. (again, not nice.)

And finally, the result. haha. I don't know a lot about makeup but well, it could only get better. Might just post something similar if I gain more K na to actually share haha. Either that or I'll come up with a better holiday activity.

p.s.

The college graduation honeymoon ended as soon as the Cebu beach tanlines brought back my yellow Chinese skin-- working like a post-it reminder to 'start' real life. Oh boy did time fly, I do remember feeling a few things and being at peace wasn't one of them.

It has always been about finding the balance between profit and purpose-isn't that what fresh grads unchained from the hold of by-the-book concepts all aim for?

A hundred emails and follow up phone calls later, I land a job at the bank. It's true what they say about not 'testing the waters' if you're not serious about pursuing anything because it is TOO easy to just bathe yourself sick just 5 minutes from the moment you're pinky toe touched the water. 180 days later, while I can say I've matured along with all the Time Deposits at the vault, I still can't honestly say I chose the path with a heart. (edit 6/20/11: have to give time, time)

Maybe it's because I've always been one who can commit only for free samples and trial sizes, but really, is there such a thing as a "FREE" sample? no sir, it's a bait! an impulse purchase in disguise, the equivalent of a serious pick up artist who wants to go for a harmless evening jog. SUS. I'm slowly seeing a pattern as to where the potential pitfall of my life lies-- its in being blind to the beauty of what is, in being selfish of compassion, and in pouring fleeting disinfectants in an attempt to speed heal my wounds. yes, melancholic na kung melancholic ang lola.

what will i feed my children??? hahaha
just get to know AND THEN see where it goes, hows that? (:

while downloading music in kenny's today, it occurred to me how beautiful it can be to really just trust the universe. despite its promise of aches, and the elusiveness of (some) dreams, the world never ceases to be beautiful. and yes i'm idealistic. and yes i'm high on life. and yes i'm aware that it could well be beginner's luck and that anytime, any minute from now even, if a drunk gun-toting bastard storms through kenny's and gets annoyed with the shade of my peach jacket shoots me just because--- everything that flips my lips the right side up could pop like a helium balloon sat on by a fat ass in a kid's party. (whew! ang wordy mo girl!)

anyway.

this is a nice state to be in. like whiffing the cinnamon that gives the coffee it sits on a run for its money. like hearing the first line of a favorite song and SOLVE ka na kahit youre 10 seconds out of 4 minutes into the song! napapa DAYMN ka na lang sa amusement. heehee.

so for my conclusion? dying young is kinda overrated, and if the thought even crosses your head haze when you read this in the future, remember the lust for lifeyou had on august 19, 2010. remember the things that you're willing to be cheesy for. know your heart and then, maybe scratch it a bit. even jeans look better when they've already roughed it up. padding: 1px; vertical-align: bottom;" width="128" />

This is a theory that played in my head earlier this morning. A theory on why they call it the "X" factor. Or maybe an answer to "How do you explain the concept of the X factor to a 5 year old?"

illustration:
La <strike>E</strike>x<strike>change</strike>---> LaX
Bri<strike>cks</strike>---> BriX

explanation:
the X factor stands for that one thing or one person, that stands for a lot of things, for a lot of people. A singer that can belt out the sentiment of any entire country--that's the 'job description' of an American Idol. A gadget that functions as a phone, powerpoint clicker, camera and mosquito killer (could you believe theres an app for it! ) that is the Iphone.

One singer. One gadget. 10 in 1, representative, and hella irreplaceable.

Perfectionist. For me lang ha, being a perfectionist is not that bad. Or any "bad" trait for that matter is not THAT bad. Maybe the thing to ask is... What career fits this trait to a T? It makes wonderful sense to have a perfectionist doctor who delivers without fault or an impatient news anchor (and pizza man!) who delivers on time.

I think bad traits are really inborn, genetic even! (yea, i commute-the hard core way{i.e. jeep} now too!:p)

i think that the time post-grad, pre-employment is a strange but beautiful holiday.

i can honestly say i enjoy how life had slapped me hard , in a lovingly painful way. haha. lovingly painful. DAYMN.

and i realized how going into a relationship is a lot like getting a job. people are in it for various reasons. it could be sheer necessity or pure love-either way the intent does not guarantee how much happier you'll be. and and and! (man im good at stretching this metaphor! haha) it helps to be honest, as brutally honest as you can stomach even, because the company/person who appreciates your potential holds the cards in bringing out the worst and best in you while you're together.

id like my tombstone to read 'she can do what she pleases she's nobody's fool' -from that billy joel song. hee. it sounds selfish. but i'd want to do the world a favor by daring to stop trying to please it.
