What are MLMer’s getting?

That there is no ‘magic automated system’ that will let someone ‘point and click’ their way to success.

Good friend, social media expert and successful MLMer Doug Karnuth wrote a great post Jan. 19 about the bottom feeding gurus trying to fleece inexperienced MLMers….and drew a very funny yet accurate analogy.

There are no secrets and there are no magic point and click systems.

Guru’s that tell you that have magic systems that will generate prospects and solve all your problems are lying.

And they are good at it for you don’t know the truth.

I know why Doug has a thriving business.  He know the truth about what it takes.

He knows what most people forgot.

Maybe it’s because he’s from the Midwest….maybe it’s because he utilizes and listens to our friend and peer Success Coach Kathy Zimmer ……who, despite living in Southern California…..[I was born in LA so don't get your undies in a bunch]…..seems to know what it really takes to succeed.

Why is it easy for successful MLMers like Kathy and Doug?

What truth is it that they and other authentic successful MLMer’s  know?

They know about the 2 ‘SPIRATIONS‘

Really simple.

It’s simply not enough to know about network marketing skills…..the real winners know they’ve got to learn, practice and apply.

You’ll find lots of networking skills, free and lot’s of networking tips too…..but does it really matter without the 2 SPIRATIONS?

Get busy because if you do, no one….and I mean NO ONE will ever be able to fool you or hold you back, including yourself…from authentic success.

On the 11th day of Christmas…..we get a gift from outside MLM that applies.

Heard a great message by Frank Kern, internet marketing guru, about the ‘state of internet marketing‘ moving forward.

Frank is successful, authentically….and, my bride, The Fabulous Davene has gleaned a ton from Frank, more than enough to make six figures++ in her first year as an online marketer……she’s past that now.   Hey, I married up, what can I say?

Kern breaks internet marketing down into 3 pillars, just like I’ve always broken MLM down.

And no, I’m not talking about the ‘stupid’ pillars people tell you about when they pitch you…..ya know what I mean?

When someone tells you the 4 KEY pillars for picking the right company…..or the 5 KEY pillars…..you can bet all the tea in China then next thing they are going to tell you is how the deal they want to pitch hits and exceeds all of them…..very cute technique……it’s bullshit but it’s very effective if you go down that road with them.

I’m talking about something completely different – the 3 things we do to drive our business.

And it’s a lot different than it was in 1995.  In some ways better and in some ways….especially today…it brings an inherent trap with it.

Unfortunately, [or fortunately if you want your competition wasting their time ], most people are spending most of their time on the thing that matters least and the least amount of their time on what matters most to build a big, self-perpetuating business.

To KILL 2012 and get where you want to be……requires nothing more than looking at the FACTS and seeing how you’ve been sucked into what everyone else, well most everyone else, is focusing on.

Here are the 3 pillars and why you probably need to shift your focus.

If we re-examine our focus and embrace the brutal facts of what all this technology has brought us……it’s clear that with a clear focus on what actually drives the economic engine and some skills to improve in that pillar, we can all up the ante in 2102 with ease.

If we are going to make some money, we need to talk to people.  Talking to people is a skill and there are several networking skills free right here.

Then we need to educate them so we can get the desired effect, duplication.  And everybody knows getting duplication is a network marketing skill.

Since we’re in the 12 Days of Christmas for our wonderful followers, I promise, in the ‘spirit’ of giving, that I won’t go on one of my rants here.

Well, maybe a little one…..a sentence or two.

So this is the 10th day of giving to all our readers for spreading the word about the free networking skills we have at the site.

The insatiable appetite new and inexperienced folks have for leads is a chicken and egg thing…..only in this case we can identify which came first.

Did the new peeps create a need for the bottom feeders with their magic systems and leads?   We all know they don’t work, cost money and, worse yet, tarnish our industry. [The chicken]

Or did a few, which led to a tribe…..figure out they could exploit inexperienced people……getting them to focus on leads…..as if leads would make a difference. [The egg]

I’ve been doing this since 1983-84…..and I can tell you it is the bottom-feeders who seized the unregulated Internet to do on a bigger scale what people were doing back in the ’80s.

Leads & Systems Won't Build Any MLM - They Are Lying

Sell tools…….and that morphed into leads….and systems……they were a bunch of peeps who never made it in MLM ….and saw that by pretending to have been successful [how easy is that online?] they could sell ‘secrets’ and ‘systems’ and ‘leads’…….somehow, well done by the way, they’ve got people convinced they’ve got to sponsor 10-20 people a month…..or more.  And newbies and frustrated vets alike buy into that baloney.

ALWAYS LESS

Each deal we have built, we’ve sponsored less people and got to the top of the pay-plan faster.  Always built from scratch, not raiding previous organizations.   How?  We just got better at teaching network marketing skills as the years rolled on.

Biggest problem today?   Technology.  The bottom feeders – trying to profit on others hard work – now have the masses convinced technology plus social media will be the way to wealth.

It is not……talking to people is…..and while fashion comes and goes…..principles endure.

Being of authentic service to others…..will get it done.

I have been using a method for a couple years that will easily develop 100 leads a month….good ones…..that is free…..no programs to buy, no hoops to jump through……and founded on a very old, tried and true principle that makes you and others you interact with better.  Better at MLM, better business people and better at life.

On the 9th day of Christmas…….I’ve got some very special for you.

A confession.

How did I learn this was a skill based business and find a great starting point?

Better yet….how was I blessed enough to find all the stuff anyone would ever need to get to $5000-$8000 or more a month…..

And even better yet……how was a bankrupt seafood delivery guy who had failed 5 times in MLM during the 1980′s…..suddenly turn a career around?

I had help.  Learning this was a skill based business was a game changer.

I got access to something very special.

It let me go on to make enough money that I could relax, think and eventually, create some ways to build on the basic treasure chest I discovered

I just don’t ‘buy’ it’s OK……that is it ‘part of paying the price’…..do you?

I mean if everyone wants more money, time and to pay less in taxes…..and we are offering more money, more time and less taxes…..why is there so much rejection?

Rejection sucks….no one likes it and rejection is almost as bad as upline’s who give speeches about attitude, not quitting, hanging in there and the obnoxious, ‘quitters never win and winners never quit.’

Good grief!

Who said anything about quitting……I just wanted to hear the work ‘yes’ ……

What is it with uplines still talking to people like it’s 1975?

People don’t need pep talks, they need skills…..network marketing skills.

I wanted ‘yes’ rolling into my ears…..like…..well, like 8 Maids-a-Milking…….I wanted ‘yes’ to flow…..

And…..then, I learned 1 tiny thing in the lobby of the West Hartford Marriott……and my EVERYTHING changed.

Started getting yes 80+% of the time

Within a week, I was over 90% and it had never stopped.

You’ll notice courage and creativity are who you instantly become.

Service.

Not lip service, but genuine service.

And you will wonder where this humble greatness has been hiding all your life.

Really.

Why do people fail in MLM?

The truth is most people having been doing network marketing since they were 6 years old.

I mean telling people about things we like, enjoy ……or things we like, enjoy and may benefit someone else is part of the human experience!

Our parents took us to that ‘new’ Ice Cream place and we loved it.  What was the first thing we told our friends about Monday before school?  Ice Cream!

And you know some of them told their parents about it and asked when they could go, right?

That’s network marketing.

So if we’ve been doing since we were kids and, let’s face it…we love it when we can share something that helps others…..how can we possibly fail?

We love telling others about things we think they'll like

If 20 years has taught me 1 thing, it is that people, in the end all fail for the same core reason.

It wears many, many masks….but in the final analysis the bedrock reason is always the same.
