	LANSING &ndash; State Representative Mark Meadows (D-East Lansing) has introduced a bill in the Michigan House of
Representatives to prohibit residents from using the Michigan Bridge Card to purchase lottery tickets, alcohol and
tobacco products. It will also prohibit users from withdrawing cash from an ATM. Meadows introduced similar legislation
during last year&#39;s legislative session. "The Bridge Card can be a useful tool in helping families afford vital

	LANSING &ndash; In an effort to reduce the financial burden on communities across Michigan, State Representative Mark
Meadows (D-East Lansing) today joined his Republican colleagues including Eileen Kowall (R-White Lake) in introducing a
bipartisan plan to stop unfunded statutory mandates. As the former Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Meadows was
instrumental in crafting a similar plan during last year&#39;s legislative session. "Unfunded mandates have become a
heavy financial burden that our communities simply can&#39;t afford," said Meadows, Democratic Vice Chair of the House

Michigan House of Representatives to restore guaranteed health care benefits for retired teachers and other public
employees in Michigan in order to help provide them with a secure retirement. "I recently voted against school employee
bills that had nothing for current school employees except a reduction in their pay," Meadows said. "I am now confronted
with another bill for state employees that also has nothing for active employees except a tax on existing employees&#39;
