Over one third of the book of Psalms is made up of lament Psalms. However, very few hymns that are sung in churches today are songs of lament. As believers, we all go through times of struggle and hardship, but we do not know how to lament in a biblical way. In Psalm 13, David is in a place of great discouragement and asks God how long He will hide His face from him and forget him. David’s enemies are surrounding him and rejoice when he fails. Yet, David trusts in God’s steadfast love and His salvation even in the midst of great struggle. It is okay to lament and to grieve during hard times, but through those hard times, we should turn to God who is abounding in steadfast love. The song How Long, O Lord, How Long (Psalm 13) is based on Psalm 13, and we will be singing it on Sunday, June 14 at Rosemont. We hope this song will be an encouragement during the trials of life.

As we head towards Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, we are excited to introduce a new song called It Was Finished Upon That Cross. This song of praise focuses on Christ’s death and finished work on the cross as well as His resurrection. We can praise God because we have also been resurrected from the dead spiritually and now have new live in Him! We look forward to singing this song on March 1 at Rosemont as we head toward the Easter season.
