I am sure you have all heard by now but Alcoa came out with some pretty uplifting earnings today. As a long term investor in this stock, I am flying mile high but we are approaching a huge gap down that happened about a year ago. I wonder what will happen next?

The lackadaisical trading ranges the past few months has been rather depressing to say the least. Realistically though, this is normal during “normal” times. Traders have become rather lucky at the big range trading in the past, something that has never happened before. None the less, I can counteract this by playing the high leverage ETFs, effectively multiplying the volatility and exposure to certain sectors.

For those that do not follow my twitter, I sold some more Conoco-Phillips (COP) today due to some overhead resistance and purchased a chunk of the 2-1 Leverage Spyder etf (SSO) October 33 puts.

My latest work from the photography side of the coin was Chris Wells’ 2004 ECS supercharged Corvette. This car was completely hand built by the owner and documented in a photo album since he bought the car four years ago. The has is putting down 840 rear wheel horsepower and is a beast to say the least. The owner also has the car for sale so if anyone is interested, shoot me an email.

Failed Break: September 4th, 2009

It looks like we had a failed Fibonacci break over the past couple days and each trading day as a whole has been very weak technically. I would personally take some off the table and hold cash (which I already did a few days ago). Realistically, I wouldn’t dive back in until that 880 level.

Here is a shoot I had with the infamous Carrera GT. Go watch the top gear video on youtube of this car to see why. I believe there were only 1,240 of these vehicles made and with a $440,000 dollar price tag, you don’t exactly get to see these every day. Enjoy.
