<description><![CDATA[<table><tbody><tr> </td></tr><tr> <td valign="top" align="left"><br><font size=1>Responsibilities:</font></td></tr><tr> <td valign="top" align="left"><b>GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:</b><br>Working under the supervision of the BWH Communication andamp; Public Affairs manager of Internal Communications, the multi-media coordinator/Web editor plays a leading role in supporting the entire Communication andamp; Public Affairs teamand#x2019;s electronic communications platforms and multiple projects.<br><br>This person is responsible for maintaining, managing and writing content for the hospitaland#x2019;s intranet site, BWHPikeNotes.org, the Communication andamp; Public Affairs section of the hospitaland#x2019;s Internet site, Brighamandwomens.org, and the hospitaland#x2019;s digital signage system, BWH Community Connects. The multi-media coordinator is also responsible for developing applications and feeds for the growing social media presence for the institution.<br><br>In addition, the multimedia coordinator will assist in the planning and production of live and on demand webcasts for the hospital, and reports to the Educational Technologies project manager for these responsibilities. This position is 32 hours per week in Communication andamp; Public Affairs, and 8 hours per week for Educational Technologies.<br><br><b>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b><br>The multi-media coordinator is Communication andamp; Public Affairsand#x2019; primary web editor for the hospital intranet site and the News area on the external website, brighamandwomens.org, which is maintained through Interwovenand#x2019;s Teamsite content management system; responsible for creating pages, uploading text, images, pdfs, Word docs and other files to the intranet; embedding video code, feeds and other applications and media; photo editing and building online photo galleries; trouble shooting and solving problems as they arise; and training and responding to requests for help from the siteand#x2019;s 50-plus Web editors across the organization. In addition to applying technical skills, the multi-media coordinator works with the Communication andamp; Public Affairs team to think proactively about web communications and write content for the web.<br><br>The multi-media coordinator also is responsible for maintaining the hospitaland#x2019;s digital signage system, BWH Community Connects, which is comprised of a system of television screens with messaging created and managed through Carousel, a Web-based platform, over a local area network. The multi-media coordinator is responsible for testing and implementing upgrade to the digital system, designing templates, editing, approving and publishing bulletins submitted by the systemand#x2019;s 40-plus users across the distributed campus; creating content in a timely way in response to requests from various hospital constituencies; trouble shooting and problem solving when necessary. The multi-media coordinator also trains employees from departments throughout the hospital on using the system.<br><br>As social media continues to expand within the Communication andamp; Public Affairs function, the multimedia coordinator is responsible for staying up to date with technical trends, site development, page creation and uploading multiple feeds.  In addition, the multi-media coordinator supports and contributes to the many projects and communications campaigns involving Communication andamp; Public Affairs.<br><br>The multimedia coordinator will also assist in the planning and production for live and on demand webcasts for the hospital. Responsibilities include encoding operations, managing streaming video hosting, troubleshooting technical issues, editing digital content, maintaining the online video library website and working with several departments in support of the webcasting operations.<br><br><b>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b><br>1. Works within legal, regulatory, accreditation and ethical practice standards relevant to the position and as established by BWH/Partners.<br>2. Follows safe practices required for the position.<br>3. Complies with appropriate BWH and Partners policies and procedures.<br>4. Fulfills any training required by BWH and/or Partners, as appropriate.<br> 5. Brings potential matters of non-compliance to the attention of the supervisor or other appropriate  hospital staff. </td></tr><tr> <td valign="top" align="left"><br><font size=1>Requirements:</font></td></tr><tr> <td valign="top" align="left"><b>QUALIFICATIONS:</b><br>Bachelorand#x2019;s degree in liberal arts, communications, graphic design or related field; two to five years experience in Web content design and maintenance; experience and familiarity with enterprise content management systems, standards based coding, HTML, CSS, streaming video, video editing, podcasts, social media aps, blogs, digital signage systems, advanced graphic design, digital photography and related software desired. Knowledge of network infrastructure, streaming technologies, encoding and server applications preferred.<br><br><b>SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:</b><br> Strong writing, editing and communication skills; Web-savvy with an understanding of content management systems, HTML and Flash; problem solving and trouble shooting; aptitude for clean, clear visual design; a team player able to work independently and with others; customer-service oriented. Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects and work well under deadline pressure.
