Anyway it is week three for Affiliate X Files and we had a slight drop in traffic due to the server change but it bounced back after a few days to nearly double. So what have we done to keep growing traffic to this site this week we have made a couple of posts about pending clickbank releases and also published two articles to the article directories. So here are our stats for the week.

You can see by the stats that for the week we have increased our traffic by two visitors a day and that we are still maintaining a 30% return visitor rate that's even with the site being moved you can see that the traffic has spiked from the 28th onwards. Our ranking at Technorati hasn't changed from last week but we expect a boost once our articles are in circulation across the web.

We have also noticed a big jump in sites linking in. This�has gone from around 367 sites linking to us to 500 plus in a week. Again this is accredited to articles and other blogs linking to Affiliate X Files. Hopefully I will get some more time this week to do a complete overview of all the tools and techniques we are using to rank this site.

The stats for Google links has grown from 54 to 62 in a week

And Our Yahoo Link Stats are growing even faster now with 163 links in week one to 211 in week three

We will be concentrating on getting our optin setup through Aweber this week and our extensive affiliate training series completed so that we can go live by next week. All in all I think so far you can see what affect quality content has and the power of submitting articles to the directories plus using the Semiologic Pro package

Both of these sites have been heavily marketed with articles with the main directory being Ezinearticles for its PR6 standing. As of yesterday the sites�I have mentioned no longer have any Google links in the index from ezine articles, so this explains immediately to me why the PR value had dropped on some sites and not others.�I have marketed the sub pages of these sites through reciprocal linking and 3 way linking and these pages have maintained there PR. I how have sub pages with a PR 4 and the home page a PR 3 go figure.

I don't believe this has anything to do with ezinearticles as other authors are still enjoying a good standing in Google even my author Page is still listed no de-indexed. All�I am doing here is explaining what has happened to my sites and what�I discovered. All of these article links are still showing in the Search Engines for AlltheWeb, Yahoo and AltaVista.

I have also found that some of the web2.0 sites that did have bookmarks to my home pages also have vanished from the listing when checking the links to my sites. So once it has all been said and done I had 16 sites indexed in google linking to my home page today.�I only have six. Whether this is part of the update or the update is still in progress who knows, and as usual it will all be sorted out in the Google Wash.

The first thing that was considered was the theme of the site and as we have said we were restricted by the domain name having the word affiliate in the url. So the first tip is to always have your prime keyword in the url of your site. I know this is not always possible but if you use your imagination we are sure that you will be able to find something suitable. Try though to stay away from domains that look like this; www.this-is-my-domain-com they are hard to remember and I have found a low success rate when using them.

Ok so now the theme of the site is affiliate and affiliate marketing so the next thing we had to decide was how are we going to be competitive in a marketplace that has 10,800,000 websites trying to get to number one in Google. The first thing we had to do was check what sites were ranking in the top positions for affiliate marketing and see what they were doing to get to the top and whether we thought we could beat� them or at least get into the top 10 on Google.

You might be asking why do we always only speak about Google well it is around 70% of all traffic online if you can crack it in Google usually you will get good rankings in the other search engines overtime but this doesn't seem to work in reverse.

The first thing we noticed was that the top site not taking into account WikiPedia.org was only a PR4 site and the next one was a PR3 so we are in with a chance of getting a deceit ranking. We also noticed one other thing and that is that this site has many links coming in from Blogger meaning from the same IP. Affiliate Directory is the main keyword for this site but it is top ranked in the search for Affiliate Marketing. So all we do now is focus all of our onpage and offpage tactics on the keyword "affiliate marketing" so that we can rank highly. If the sites would have been PR6 or more we would not have pursued this Niche "Affiliate Marketing" as it would take to long to show significant traffic. You need to take small steps to get established first.

We then decided to be more relevant on the topic of affiliate marketing and that we would create at least thirty static pages on the Affiliate X Files site all covering aspects of affiliate marketing and then use the blog to add updates keeping the site fresh with content and relevant tips that are useful to the user.

We dont have to worry about site structure as Semiologic Pro the wordpress template we are using takes care of all of that for us plus the many other plugins that assist with Seo of the site. If you dont want to use a template and wish to build the web site your self do a search on Silo Pages so you have a good understanding of how to structure your website pages.

The only other things we now need to take into account are creating a site map and the contact details, privacy and disclaimer statements and we are set to go. This details as well as quality content give your site credibility and a more professional look and feel making your customers trust you.

Below are the stats for the site and you will see that we have grown by one unique vistor a day and that we are still maintaining more than a 30% returning visitor rate

You are probably saying to yourself right now, "Big Deal" this isn't a lot of traffic and your right but you also need to remember that this site is only 3 weeks old it has had all of its previous content removed so that in itself have affected the listing for this site.

Our Technorati ranking is also growing it is up from an Authority of 79 to 81 in a week which isn't bad that means that other blogs not Html websites but blogs are picking up our content and linking to our site giving us one way links which if you don't know are only links that really have a great value now.

Over the next week I will be reviewing and showing you some of the tools we use to get indexed and how we slowing strengthen this site for long term gains in the search engines. You will also notice that we currently don't have any adsense or any full on affiliate links from the site. We will start adding these as the site gains more momentum and actually gets a PR value from Google.

We have also managed to have more pages indexed into Google in only one week we have added two more static pages to the site and one blog post.
