But many PLR content buyers fall into a sticky trap with their purchases – they only use the content in the original format.

For example, maybe you bought a package of blog posts and you uploaded them to your blog. Then you thought you were done using the content and you archived the pack.

It’s great that you used the purchased content. You should feel proud of that accomplishment. But don’t think that you’re done with the plr content by any means – there are still dozens of ways that you can re-use those same blog posts. Not only does this make content creation even easier for you, it’s also more cost effective in the long run, too.

If you’re not sure how to repurpose your content, you’re not alone. Many people struggle with this simple task. Here are a few ideas to get you thinking about how you can make the most of your PLR purchases…

Idea #1: Compile Articles or Blog Posts

So, you have a collection of articles or blog posts that you’ve proudly posted to your blog, but you haven’t done anything else with them. Or maybe they’re still sitting unused on your hard drive because you haven’t gotten around to publishing them just yet.

You can still use these articles or blog posts in fun and exciting ways. One of the easiest things to do is to compile the articles into one longer report. You can use this report as an opt-in gift for your visitors.

When you have an opt-in gift, someone visits your website. They see an offer of a free gift if they sign up with their email address. They enter their details and you send them an email with a copy of their free gift. Some marketers call this a lead magnet or dangling carrot.

No matter what you call it, a short report is a great way to entice visitors to share their information with you. As a result, your email list grows and if you’re making offers to your community regularly, so does your income!

Of course, you don’t have to use your short report as a lead magnet. Some marketers will sell their short reports as mini courses or they’ll give them away for free to educate their subscribers.

Before you create a report, it helps to know what you plan to do with it. If you’re using it as a lead magnet, you might want to include a call-to-action in the back that links to a small tripwire product. If you’re using it as a mini stand-alone product, you’ll want to link to one of your pricier products or even a product that you promote as an affiliate.

When you begin with the end in mind, it’s easier to create a resource that serves your audience while still putting cash in your pocket!

Once you know how you’ll profit from your report, your next step is to gather a collection of articles. Now, these articles should be on the same topic. After all, you don’t want to create a report that tackles too many subjects at once. This will overwhelm your readers.

Although your content needs to be the same general subject, it doesn’t have to be from the same seller. You can mix and match some of your favorite content pieces from various PLR providers.

After you have a collection of articles that you want to use in your report, paste them all into one document. You’ll want to sort them in an order that makes sense to you.

Now, go through your document and lightly edit the content where needed. This is where you remove words that don’t sound like you, add in your own examples, and include affiliate links where relevant.

Finally, create a call-to-action on your last page. Invite your reader to spend money with you or another marketer that you’re promoting. Be sure this CTA is relevant to the content of the report. Don’t offer graphic design services if your report was focused on using essential oils. You’ll just confuse your readers.

After your report is complete, save it as a PDF. Upload it to your website and create a form on your website so visitors will see your brand-new report.

Idea #2: Create an Autoresponder Series

You can also grab a collection of articles or blog posts and turn them into an autoresponder series. This can be a great way to make a simple email challenge to grow your mailing list. For example, let’s say you have a PLR pack on “Organizing Your Home Room-By-Room”.

You could take each “room” and make it a day in your challenge. So, your autoresponder series might look something like this:

Day 1: Sorting the Kitchen & Pantry

Day 2: Tackling the Family Room & Living Room

Day 3: Organizing Your Kids’ Bedrooms

Day 4: Turning Your Bedroom into an Oasis

Day 5: Simplifying Your Bathrooms

Day 6: Clearing Your Basement of Clutter

Day 7: Cleaning Out Your Garage

Of course, your autoresponder series doesn’t have to last for 7 days. You could have a challenge that runs for 5, 10, or even 30 days depending on what project you’re helping your community tackle.

To use this idea, all you need to do is gather your content for the challenge. Decide which piece of content fits which day.

As you’re working, be mindful of how you could add in an affiliate links or links to your project. With the organizing example above, you could link to your favorite kitchen drawer organizer on day 1. On day 3, you might link to your short product on how to help your kids fall in love with tidying.

Remember this challenge will be on-going so you want to link to evergreen products that will still be relevant months (or even years) down the road.

Once your content is ready, go add it to your preferred mailing list software. If you’re using Aweber, you’ll create a “campaign” but if you’re not sure what that is or if you’re using different software, you might need to ask your provider for advice on how to set up your challenge.

That's it for this post. There are a couple of other posts coming up that will show you even more ways to profit from plr content. Stay tuned.

Get part 2 by clicking here...

Get part 3 by clicking here...

******************************************************

Discover how to make real cash from PLR and white label products.

Articles Into Products

You might be thinking that it is a big job to create an ebook. There is a lot of writing to do, and the idea of creating a dozen pages is bad enough. But over 50 pages? Not happening.

One of the easiest ways to create a product is to create a document in a word processor and save it as a pdf. An ebook.

These are easy to quickly get done, and are a good option for a lead magnet that you can create to get new subscribers, and a way to create a full-blown ebook that you can sell for good money.

I feel the same way. It’s one thing to write an article and/or a post for a blog. That’s hard enough, sometimes. But to sit down and write several pages will take a lot of time. And a lot of frustration.

There are ways to make this process a lot less painful, while still getting the result that you want – an ebook that you can offer as an incentive or a product that you can sell.

One way is to use private label rights products. You can buy ready-made ebooks that you can put your name on and sell as is. As you discover in The Truth About PLR, it’s a lot better and more valuable if you change it up a bit.

You can change the graphics to make it unique to your business. You can add a few pages and fill out the content. And you can rearrange the chapters and edit them.

What this does is make it unique. You don’t want to be one of many who are selling the exact same product. Why?

Because, what you’ll discover is that you end up in a race to the bottom.

Since everyone selling the same product want to make sure that they get the sale, they usually sell it for a really low price. Under $10 in most cases.

You don’t want to get in that situation. And the way to avoid it is to do what I mentioned above and following the advice in the PLR Guide.

When you take the time to edit the PLR and make it your own, you are selling something that no one else has. Because it is unique, your direct competition is gone.

You still have to compete against similar products, but you can position your offer as a premium product. That comes with the advantage of being able to set a higher price. More money for less sales.

Another way to make it a lot easier to create your own product without chaining yourself to your computer is to use articles.

You can find plr article packs for just about any niche, and you can put them in a Word document and create a pdf that way. You still have the potential problem that other marketers have the same content as you do.

You have a little work to do to make the articles unique, but it does pay off. And it saves time.

The last way is to make use of content you already have. Since you have an email list, you have several messages that you have sent out (you do have an email list, right? If not, here’s a resource that can guide you…).

If you have a web site with a blog, you have several articles that you have posted. This is also content you can use.

Here’s what to do next

Taking the content you already have and using it to create your unique product does two things at once:

You have ready made content that is unique, created by you, and free.

You save time because the work is already done. No need to rewrite and edit the content unless you want to.

Gather up the emails and/or articles that are related to a topic. Decide how you want to lay them out in your document, paste them in, add some graphics, and create the pdf ebook.

Now you have an incentive or a full product that you can sell. It doesn’t take a lot of time, and you don’t have to face the grueling task of writing everything from scratch.

Don’t let the idea of creating your own products keep you from getting started.

I am a big fan of review sites. Not all of them, or even most of them. But I do look at a lot of them every week. Review sites are good if you're looking at a product and want to know what people other than the site owners have to say.

For example, about a year ago, I was looking for a treadmill. The one I had was overheating and was getting noisy. I started shopping, and found one that looked good, and was on sale with free shipping.

So I did what I usually do. I did a search for the treadmill I was looking at and saw what others were saying. I decided to buy the treadmill, and it has been working fine for the past year.

That's an example of a physical product, but I do it for most things I come across that interest me. What I have found is that while there are good sites out there, there are also sites that are a copy of other sites I have visited.

When I say copied, I mean the product description, bullet points, and links to the site that is selling the product. Once I landed on a copycat site, I quickly clicked back to find the next site listed.

These sites that just copy the main site's copy and images are useless to me, and I suspect that they aren't getting many sales for the site owners. It is true that they managed to get listed in the first 2 pages of search results, but I doubt that they are there for very long.

So that brings up the question of whether review sites work any more...

From what I have seen over the past several months, review sites can be helpful. I think the key to a review site that gets a good ranking and starts to generate steady traffic is one that is actually helpful.

I get really suspicious of any site that describes a product, and at the end of the review, they can't find one thing that is wrong with the product, nothing that could be improved. That tells me that they aren't being honest, and they probably didn't put a lot of time or research into the review before they posted it.

I believe that review sites are useful, and that because people are searching for reviews, you can generate free traffic if you do a good job. Search engines will reward you with better rankings, rankings that last. Visitors will reward you by clicking on your links. And you'll be rewarded with getting paid for your hard work.

And don't forget to make the most of the visitors to your site. Not everyone will be interested in clicking on your link and going to the sales page. That doesn't mean that they're not interested. Some of them are, of course.

But some of them may be interested, but don't have the time or want to think about it. They may intend to come back. To better your chances of them getting them back to your site and to the sales page, there is one important thing that you can do.

Get them on your list. On your review page, make sure you have an opt-in form so they can subscribe to get more information. If you can come up with a free report that is related to the product, you can use that as an incentive to get them onto your list.

Once they are on your list, you can send them emails related to what you're selling. Make sure to provide value and information that they will find useful. Include a link to the product sales page at the end, but don't beat them over the head with this. You don't want to drive them away.

To get the most out of this list strategy, search for related products. Provide interesting email messages that relate to your market, and introduce new products every so often. This way, you will have a long term subscriber that you can contact and make sales from. It's a winning strategy.

To wrap this up, if you're going to do review sites or review posts, make sure to do a good job. Make the review interesting and try to answer any questions that a potential buyer may have that they could not find on the sales page. Get them on your list.

After all, that's why they came to a review site in the first place. To get more information about the product that they are interested in. Be the one to help them, and you will be rewarded.

Till Next Time...

Want to build a list and start emailing them, but don't know where to start? Why not get a free forever account at Aweber.com (No credit card required!).

For a long time, I have been writing my blog posts in notepad or in the wordpress editor. It works, and it very easy to do. I have been looking at making it a bit easier by using software designed for writing. All of them looked good, but some are very expensive. I do write some, but it isn't something I do every day.

All I was looking for was a way to write where I could make sure my spelling was correct and that my grammar was decent. What I discovered was that I already had that capability on my computer.

I subscribed to Office 365 a few months ago. The monthly price is under $10 and it includes Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, which I wanted access to. What I didn't realize is that the software has a feature that does exactly what I was looking for, and I didn't even know it.

All I have to do is open a new black document, and from the home tab at the upper right of the screen is a tab called "Editor". This opens a side panel.

At the top of the panel is a banner that lists how many suggestions the software has. This will obviously change as you write your content. Below that is the corrections area that shows any spelling or grammar mistakes.

Below that is a section called Refinements that cover clarity, conciseness, formality, punctuation conventions, and vocabulary. If there is a green checkmark, the editor has found that the document is good in that area. A red X means that there are improvements to be made.

After using this for some time, I have come to like using the editor. It is convenient and helps to make sure that I have a readable document.

One thing that I have noticed is that I don't always agree with what the editor suggests I correct. Sometimes I will leave a sentence with three dots after it. This isn't a big deal. At the bottom of the editor there is the option to ignore anything you don't agree with.

The software is there to help, and it won't make you change a thing. You don't have to open it at all to use Word to write your articles and posts. What I like to do is write the article first, and then open the editor. I can then go through the suggestions, and edit the piece at the same time.

It has helped me to write more and better articles. If you have Word and didn't know about the editor, give it a try. And if you already knew about it and wonder why I didn't, I have no good excuse. Happy content creating...

I have spent a lot of time and money on courses and digital downloads so I could learn how to email my list messages the right way. I wanted to get it right the first time. Most of the information that I paid for didn't help very much.

I got advice ranging from tell stories to tell them about your life to us humor. Very vague and general. What have I learned from this? Not much really.

After several years of reading emails from the "successful" marketers and studying what I purchased, I came to the conclusion that there is no right way. Just something that can be honed only by writing a lot of messages and listening to the feedback.

What really made email really clear was from a $3.99 ebook from Amazon. It was about creating content fast.

Inside the book, there was a link to download some helpful info and worksheets. To get the goodies, I had to give up my email address. Good marketing move.

So I ended up on a list of someone I never heard of before, and started getting some email to read. And to my surprise, it was very good. The author calls herself an Email Marketing Expert, or something like that. More to the point, she said something that I never saw, or maybe I just missed it...

The message was that every email that you send out should have a purpose. A clear, defined reason for being sent. And how it was important to lay out a plan and schedule for these email messages so you know what to write each week, month and quarter.

I now can understand why I always read some emails, and some emails get deleted before I read them. The good ones have something that I usually find interesting and helpful. The bad ones are a waste of time.

I don't want to be a waste of anyone's time. and I know that you don't either. From now on, every time you get ready to send out your next email, make sure that it doesn't waste your subscribers time.

I recently watched an update from a show I came across last year called Undercover Billionaire. The series followed a man who had made it big as he set out on a quest to prove that the American dream was alive and well. To prove it, he had to use himself as the test subject.

He chose Erie, Pennsylvania as the city, and he went there in the spring of last year. To make it a challenge, he flew into Erie with access to an old pickup truck and $100 in cash. His mission was, in 90 days, to create a business worth at least one million dollars. If he failed, he would put in one million dollars himself.

The setup for the show was that he had a camera crew following him around documenting his journey as he tried to start a business. He had to sleep in his truck a few times, and once he had a room to rent, he had to sleep on the floor. He only had $100 dollars, and he couldn't use a credit card or any of his connections.

I won't go into all of the details of the show, but here are a few of the things that impressed me.

He found old tires and sold them using his cell phone. He got a job mopping and cleaning to earn cash. He met and recruited people to work with him as he built the business.

The biggest part of his plan was to start a BBQ restaurant, and to get publicity and some seed money, he entered a BBQ competition. He had to enlist someone to build him a smoker, and he had to hire staff and a really good BBQ expert. It was amazing to see how he had a no quit attitude, and to see how he overcame the obstacles and setbacks and kept himself and his crew on track.

The restaurant is still thriving after a year, even with the pandemic.

What impressed me were the lessons that this show provided that any business could use. The persistence to do what it takes, to never quit, and to adapt to every situation. This rich guy, who had no reason to do what he did, except to prove a point, also provided a lot of good people the opportunity to get ahead.

It takes some nerve and a belief in yourself to do what he did. He led his team, and took chances. He didn't let fear, worry, or doubt get in his way.

For me, this reminds me to not put off doing what I need to do, and to not be afraid that I'm not good enough. The most important thing is to get going. Start doing the things that will get me ahead. Not waiting until I go through another course, listen to another podcast, until I get that software or plugin that I need. It means that every day, I am going to do the things that get me closer to my goal.

Guess that means that watching TV isn't always a waste of time...

I am not a natural writer. I did okay in English class, and I passed, but I haven't written much of anything since my school days. Not a lot of reason to...

Until now.

I'm in business, a business that requires content. Emails, blog posts, sales pages, articles and more. So I had a decision to make. Did I create all of the content myself, or would it be better to pay someone else to do it for me? One way would be free but then I would have to do a lot of writing. Pay someone, and hope that I had the money to do it, and rely on others to get my message across.

For me the answer was simple. I would have to learn to do it myself. What follows are the steps and ways I used to be able to create the content my business needs. And the bonus is that I control what is presented and I can highlight my products and services in a way that I feel good about.

The first big hurdle was that I was awful at typing. I could do a decent job using my 2 finger method. I would use the index finger of each hand and go as fast as I could to get the job done. There are drawbacks to this method. The big problem is that to use my method, I would have to look at the keyboard as I was typing, and then steal a glance at the monitor to see if I made any mistakes. And it was painfully slow.

The solution came from my sister in the form of typing software called "Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing". I installed it and got started learning how to type the "correct" way. I'll admit that it was slow going at first. As I completed each exercise, I would see my words per minute. It was sad. At first I was getting less than 20.

But I kept at it and soon was typing at between 30 and 40 words per minute. Not great, but a lot better than my old 2 finger method. And now I could look at the monitor as I was typing instead of wasting time looking at my hands.

Next I had to actually start writing the content that I wanted for my site, blog posts, and emails. First up was coming up with ideas. Then there is the research. Figuring that out is a pain, but I'm not going to cover that here.

Then I had to start writing. The only problem was that I hated to write. Every time I sat in front of the screen and started typing, I would stop, delete what I had written, and started over. I wanted to write good stuff, and I was disappointed, very much so, with what I was writing.

A blog post was taking too long, and most days I would get frustrated and leave it for the next day. Over time, I wasn't getting much done.

Then I came across some really good advice. Common sense really. The advice was to write fast and write a lot. Get everything written and saved.

Next was to let it sit for a day or more, and then open it up and read it over, and then make any changes and fix any mistakes.

The real point is that the only way to get good at creating content is to create content. A lot of content.

Sure, maybe a lot of it will be awful. Maybe you'll be embarrassed that you actually spent time writing at all. But if you write fast and write a lot, you will get better and faster.

A wise man once said (Thanks, Brian Tracy):

"Everything is hard before it is easy".

I think about the old standby example of riding a bike or walking. Once you learn how to do it, you can walk or ride with ease. Same thing with anything you have learned. Reading, writing, skills required for your job, learning to read music and play an instrument.

At first it is hard, but once you learn, it's yours forever. Same thing with writing content. Put in the time, do it every day, and before you know it, you will get good at creating your own content too.

* Here's a bonus tip *

I like to use Dragon Naturally Speaking to create content. There are other free alternatives out there, and they are getting better all of the time. Once you learn how to use it, you'll be amazed at how much you can get done. It can be a real time saver, because unless you're really fast at typing, you can speak faster than you can type. It makes it harder to keep the flow of ideas flowing. Speak what you want to cover and you may find that you get better results and get them a lot faster.
