Work out time

Next week, I am going to start my zumba and kick boxing classes.

It has been busy at work due a trade show preparation. Due to the lack of sleep, I have been wanting to sleep in. I'm trying to save extra money for a mini getaway vacation.My hubby and I might head up to San Francisco or Big Sur. I can't wait sleep in and enjoy brunch time by the beach.

Peplum is a ruffled details attached to the waistline on a skirt, top or dress.
This spring trend is super-flattering for the curvy girls like myself. It puts a lot of emphasis on your hips.

Be careful with size of ruffled detailed because it might bring too attention to your mid section.

Have fun with peplum trend with a vintage dress, skirt or top.

February is my favorite month to wear red. Oh yes, I am a sucker for Valentines day. I adore decorating my home with pink hearts and get dressed up for romantic dinners.
Recently while I was checking out Modcloth website, my husband suggested to get this red dress. His dress selection was perfect. You gotta love your husband who has amazing style taste.

It might be snowing or raining outside your door but spring is just around the corner. I am looking forward to upcoming spring/ summer trends. One of my favorite spring trend would be the short suit.
It gives me a chance to incorporate this look into my own work wardrobe.

If you are looking for formal office appropriate suit, check the hemline before your purchase. Please avoid wearing the boxy look. A well tailored short slightly above the knee, blazer and heels will help you master this look.

For relaxing environment, you should wear the loose fitting short and well tailored blazer jacket for a cute flirty look.

I have been loyal Target fan more than 28 years. I remember when Target's red bull eye trademark took over the Gemco stores in California.

When I heard Jason Wu was going to design collaboration with Target, I was looking forward to the line. I loved how he displays a female silhouette with his A-line skirts.

Dear Creatures Spring 2012 preview

One of my girl friends emailed the Dear Creatures S/S 2012 lookbook. You gotta love friends who know you best especially on this crazy Friday:)

At last weekend's sample sale, I saw the sample of last pictured dress. The lucky girl ( who I didn't get her name) was having double thoughts when she was trying on the dress. I helped her out with adjusting the dress straps. She looked so beautiful. I'm so happy that she got the dress. Another DC fan was born on that day:)
I think that I am going to save up for the Garden dress. It's too cute. My heart is all over the khaki version.

White is a great transition color to the upcoming pastel spring time.
A few weeks ago, I found this amazing off white wool coat. I usually have second thoughts over light colors but I fell in love with it.

This past weekend, I went to the Dear Creatures sample sale at TLO ( The Loved One) with my part time assistant. Poor guy, he saw how women act crazy around cheap clothes.
Regardless, I got two amazing pieces for work. Honestly I'm started to enjoy dressing for work, every morning. Like my co-worker mention, I should bring a " bit of Maria " in my outfit.. aka " bit of color" :) How is your workplace? Do you get wear causal clothes or business suits? This Christmas, I layered up with my favorite summer dress from Dear creatures. Even with the California weather, it does get a bit chilly during the night time.

What did you get for Christmas?
My husband and I promised each other to spend a day at Disney's California Adventure. I am a huge Disneyland fan. It's the perfect gift.:) I will take plenty of pictures and post them after the trip. Hopefully, I find my sparkly Mickey ears before the trip.

Windy Northeast

I would to apologize for everyone. I have been forced to be away from my computer. On Wednesday night, the Santa Ana winds stuck the Northeast Los Angeles and Pasadena. From my window, the electricity sparks flew all over the dark night.

It was crazy to view this image of fallen trees all over the streets. There was a power outage for two nights. I'm back .... please check out my next blog posting. It's going to cheer your weekend:) I promise.

At the flea markets, I usually cater to the Japanese buyer who cater vintage clothing to the different subcultures. One of my favorite Japanese subculture would be the Mori girls. "Mori" means forest in Japanese. This unique style attracts creative girl who are in touch with nature.
Mori girls tend to wear floral dresses, puffy prairie aprons, nude color blouses, long maxi skirts and Gunne Sax attire.

Thrifty Friday- Shoe Edition

Recently, I had some interviews with big corporate companies. I had nothing to wear as shoes.
After doing some search, I found these amazing navy Salvatore Ferragamo. It's hard to find these vintage Ferragamo at a yard sale. The original owner was asking for $ 25 but I negotiated her down to $ 15 .
Now I'm searching another pair of vintage Ferragamo in great condition. Wish me luck:)

My second thrifty find was these Swedish Hasbeens. A few weeks ago, I was doing early run at the donut shop. The card machine wasn't working. I paid the next lady's bill but ask her to pass the good deed. Afterwards at a yard sale, a lady gave me her old Swedish Hasbeens for free. She wanted the shoes go to good home. Good karma always come around and keep a positive attitude.

A rare occurrence in the Southern California skies, there was the rain. This past weekend, it was little showers happened throughout the day and night time. Perfect chance to bring out my raincoat and umbrella. I realized that I have no rainboots. :(

Día de los Muertos( English translation: Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in many cultures. It allows us to celebrate our love ones who have passed away.

The tradition is creating beautiful altars with sugar skulls, orange marigolds, and favorite foods cherish by the decreased.

According to my mommy, the celebration is beautiful in the Mexican town of Pátzcuaro Michoacán . El Lago de Pátzcuaro ( Lake Pátzcuaro) become into colorful flowing altars. ♥
