Take the test and see where your relationship might stand. The test follows:

The holiday season is fast approaching. While many relationships might not be going well, to the extent that some individuals might get the idea that they do not wish to find themselves in the same situation when the new year arrives, this is probably not a good time to tell children that the family is breaking up. Neither would other important dates like birthdays or major holidays be a good idea either. Throughout their entire lives, many children will tend to associate those significant dates with the time when their families broke up. Parents, by all means you should tell your children about the divorce, and it should be done before one parent moves out of the house. However, parents should also bear in mind that timing the disclosure of the bad news is absolutely important. You owe it to your children to do this appropriately.

Fatherhood vs Motherhood

Many mothers confuse motherhood and fatherhood, expecting fathers to treat children the way mothers would. Paternal behavior is, however, the other side of the parenting coin. It is different from maternal behavior in many ways but they do complement each other. Children also receive tremendous benefit from the balance that both perspectives bring to their lives. Many children also suffer, when either perspective is absent.

When parents are not on the same page

Don't expect your children to do well if you and their other parent are not on the same page. Even after a divorce, if parents do not work together children will not do well. Before you make any major decision or take any significant action, ask yourself first, "How might this affect my children and my relationship with them?" Remember, children do not come with toll free numbers or with user manuals and there is no trial run either. It is all learn-as-you-go and on-the-job training. Therefore, parents will make some mistakes. Just make sure they are not major ones. Happy parenting!

How many friends do you really have?

Many people are acquainted with numerous individuals through school, work, social networks and other settings but they have no "true friends" and they have never had a close, genuine encounter with another human being. Hence, they send out "friend" requests on social network sites and if they meet you, in 2 minutes they start referring to you as "my new friend," or they refer to parents and relatives as friends, when in fact they are not. This is so sad! That's why so many people are so disappointed when others hurt or abandon them...but truly, they shouldn't feel that way. They were never friends and they have no friends. In fact, even with the billions of people on the planet, many individuals go through live never making one friend, never having one friend...and they don't even know how alone they really are. Sad! Very sad indeed!
