We went and drove the Alpine Loop over the weekend and brought the camera to look for a good spot to do some fall family pictures. Unfortunately the sun was on it's way down so we weren't able to spend a lot of time, but we were able to get this shot which includes all 5 of us. Hard to believe there is 5 of us now! But there we are.

So Phoenix is about 12 weeks and he is definitely our biggest baby at this age.

Today at 9:36AM Phoenix Orion Marrott was born weighing 7lbs 8oz and 19.5" long.

Mother and baby are both fine. We should be going home tomorrow.

The Next two weeks are exciting for our family! On Wednesday the 25th of May Liliana will have her next Gymnastic's show at the Little Gym at 10:15 am. On Thursday the 26th Kelby will have her Gymnastic's show at the Little Gym at 1:45 pm. Then on Wednesday June 1st from 12-2ish Kelby is having her Parent Program for the end of her Kindergarten year. This will be at Suncrest Elementary school in Orem. She is also moving up in Gymnastics next semester she will be in a Flip's class. So Please come to watch these fun shows. I know the girls will love if anyone can make it and I know many can not because they are at work. Just wanted to let everyone know in case they wanted to try to make it.

What we still need for Phoenix.

So I have had lots of people asking what we still need for our little guy. Wow, he will be here before we know it. So I made a list and thought I would post it here so anyone who wanted to access it could. My wonderful friend Melanie threw a shower for me and I got lots of clothes, some nice blankets, a baby bath, and much more. It was excellent, thanks to everyone! I am fine with used items as well as long as they are in good condition. We are really excited to be having a baby boy, especially since we thought we wouldn't be having any more kiddos. He will for sure be our last and we are so happy to be bringing him into our family.

So here is the List:

A high chair (I don't have a certain one in mind, just a self standing one if it folds up that would be excellent, but it not that is fine too)
A baby swing (Once again, I am not picky)
A changing pad (I have a cover already)
A temporal thermometer (Don't need it, but think they are nice)
Baby wash, shampoo, etc.
Baby towels
Diapers Newborn and size 1 (No brand in mind)
Wipes (Huggies are our favorite)
Desitin
Nursing pads for me
Receiving or swaddling blankets (we got lots of really nice blankets, but could use a pack of these)
Baby bowls
Baby spoons
Bibs

If I have forgotten something I will ad it as soon as I think of it, but I think this is everything we still need.

Mother's Day

I had a very nice Mother's day. Saturday we had a bbq at Grammy and Papa's, we enjoyed time outside in the sun celebrating Mother's Day and Earl's birthday. The weather was perfect. On Sunday Luke had written we a very sweet letter letting me know how much I am appreciated and what a great mom I am. He also let me know that anytime I want to go have a girls night, or just a break he would be happy to play with the girls. The girls and I went to Church and while we were there, Luke did a lot around the house so I didn't have to even think about it. It was really nice. The girls and I all wore pink dresses. Luke took us out to dinner for Mexican food and then we all enjoyed the evening together. A wonderful day, it was!

Kelby is 6!

Wow, I can hardly believe my first baby is already 6. Kelby is a beautiful, talented, amazing girl who definitely has a mind of her own. She is an excellent reader for her age, she LOVES gymnastics, she is a great sister, and an animal lover. She likes to do her own thing and can have quite the attitude at times. We LOVE her Sooo much and are so glad she is our daughter! We had a little family party at home on the evening of her birthday to celebrate. Thanks to Grammy, Papa, Aunt Kathy, Uncle Travis, Ian, Fiona, Aunt Bekah, and Justin for attending. Sorry to those who couldn't make it. Thanks to everyone who wished our little girl a Happy Birthday, we appreciate it! Sorry daddy there are no pictures of you. :(

Easter

Our Easter weekend was good except for a sick little girl. We had an inside bbq at Grammy and Papa's house on Saturday. We even had an indoor Easter Egg hunt due to rainy weather. It was fun to spend the day visiting with everyone. On Sunday we went to Papa Phil and Grandma Vicki's to visit and the weather was better so we got to hunt eggs outside. Liliana was pretty sick since Early Sunday morning. She had a fever and had been throwing up and just laying around most of the day Sunday, but we wanted to go visit and have Kelby enjoy Easter. I felt really bad for her. We took her to the Dr. on Monday morning to find that she had strep throat and scarlet fever. Poor baby. She started her antibiotics and was much better pretty quick. Sorry if anyone got sick from Liliana.

Parenting...

I love my kids more than anything in the world. I am so blessed to have two beautiful daughters and a sweet little guy on the way. I can not express enough how fortunate that I am. One of my biggest faults I guess you could say is having a short temper at times. Yes my kids get yelled at sometimes and I feel terrible about it every time. That is a huge deal that I am working on this year. Luke and I both are trying to keep yelling out of our home. It is really difficult sometimes. Especially when you ask for things to be done over and over. The only discipline we have that we use regularly is time out. I swear parenting is one of the hardest most challenging things in life. I want my children to grow up being close to Luke and I, to be able to talk to us, but also knowing their boundaries and how to act. Our girls are both very different, wonderful, and unique. The have totally different attitudes and personalities. It is amazing how different they both are already and they are still pretty young. It is so great to have someone to be able to go all through these things with and to try to figure stuff out with. Luke know I love and appreciate you very much. I know sometimes I get emotional and have hard times.

I love and appreciate all the people, family and friends who we are close to and who love us. I am so glad to have you all in our lives. I know that I am not a perfect person by any means and sometimes say or do things that may hurt peoples feelings. I never mean to hurt anyone and I feel bad if I even think I do. I am sorry for if I do or have done that to you.

Luke and I both try really hard to be wonderful parents to our kids, but there is no book, video, or instruction manual to go by. We just have to do what we think is right and what works best in our circumstances. Like I said no one is perfect and I am sure we do make mistakes now and then, but we do not abuse or neglect our kids. I sometimes get overwhelmed with trying to live up to such high standards or just from trying too hard to be perfect. I know that I need to be calmer at times and I truly hope I am doing a good job with my kids and showing them the love and support that I know they need.

I just felt the need to release a little of what I struggle with and my challenges and hope to improve. Thanks for reading.

My thoughts on looking for a new Dr.

So I am now 26 weeks 6 days pregnant. So on my last post I was venting a little about being not 100% satisfied with my Dr.'s office. I actually Love the Dr. He has been fantastic since I started seeing him. My main frustration is with a nurse or nurses at the Dr. office. I called not feeling good one day and it was pry about half an hour before they closed, but no one called me back that day so I just went into Labor and Delivery at the Hospital. Nothing ended up being wrong, so I am not really sure what the deal was, but with my history of pre-eclampsia they should be making sure everything is okay. I also called once worried about my blood pressure and instead of the nurse telling me to come in and have them check my blood pressure which takes a few moments she told me to go to a pharmacy. I just feel like his nurse could be nice and act like it matters if I am having problems. My Dr. has told me if I ever need anything to come in and see him or go to Labor and Delivery. I told the Dr. his nurse told me to go to a pharmacy to have my blood pressure checked and he said never go to a pharmacy. He told me to come into the office if it was during their hours. Every time I go in, he always asks if I have any concerns or questions and tells me what our plan is for looking for pre-eclampsia and makes me feel reassured. Since I have been going to him for a while, I'd really like to have him deliver our little guy. I am not exactly sure how to go about making things the way I want them to be. At least I know if I need to be seen I can just go to the Dr. office or into Labor and Delivery at the hospital. If I call with a concern though I'd like to have a response that day. Thanks for all the great advice and everything!! I am happy I have a support team on my side!

Little Health Update

So I got news back this afternoon about my lab results. My numbers are going down. Both the glucose and the protein went down so I will not be seeing the specialist. My next appt is April 4. So I will pry know more that day when I actually talk to my Dr. I am not pleased with the Dr. office in general at this moment. I feel like they don't take me seriously and I am high risk and want the baby and I to be taken care of.

Kelby Riding Her Bike

Kelby recently learned how to ride her bike without training wheels. This means it's time for a bigger bike!

Unfortunately she also had a bike accident over the weekend so she may be a little slow to jump back on and get to it, but I'm sure she will, and she'll do great!

Most of you know that I am 23 weeks 2 days pregnant as of today. Last Thursday, I woke up just not feeling that great. I felt like maybe I had a bladder infection or something. Throughout the day I started feeling worse. Mostly more uncomfortable, my lower back started hurting. So around 4 I called my Dr. office to see what they thought I should do. I left a message for the Nurse of my OB/GYN explaining what was going on and that I was seeking guidance from them. No one called me back from the office that day (they finally called me Friday morning and apologized). About 8 pm I finally was uncomfortable enough that I didn't want to just sit there. I ended up calling a 24-7 nurse line that our insurance company provides through a well pregnancy program that I am enrolled in. The nurse that I was able to speak with told me to go to Labor and Delivery at the hospital I am supposed to deliver at. So Luke took me and got me all checked in. I did a urine sample, got all hooked up to the monitors, did blood pressures, and had blood drawn. Our baby boy sounded great and all the tests for infection came back negative. They got my Dr. on the phone and he ordered a 24 hour urine catch. So I was sent home with advice to stay well hydrated and see my Dr. on Monday. Some how I have felt better after a good night's sleep Thursday night. I did my 24 hour urine catch and returned it to the Women's Center Friday night.

Today was my Dr. appt. I went in to do the normal stuff, blood pressure, weight, listening to our little guys heart beat, etc... Everything was good. Then we started talking about my test results from the 24 hour urine catch and the blood work I had done at the hospital. So my urine had more protein in it then they like to see. Which could be because of something I had eaten that day, Preeclampsia coming back, or renal kidney disease. Also I had too much glucose. So in a week I will be doing a blood glucose screening and another 24 hour urine catch. If the results are bad for the protein in my urine I will be going to see a specialist. This is all we know at this point. I am going in for the glucose screen Monday, then I will complete the 24 hour catch by Wednesday Morning because I will pry start it on Tuesday Morning. Then I will give it a week to be sent to my Dr. then I will give him a call to see what that stuff says. I am slightly nervous about it all. I am hoping there is nothing bad on either test. Just wanted to let those who are concerned know what is going on and once we find out more we will let you all know.

Then to a cute bob, thanks to Carrie.

And now we are back to this.

Hopefully Kelby will not cut her hair again, but she did pull off a little bob pretty well. We like her hair long and pretty! Oops... Accidents happen and look how long and healthy her hair is again. She could use a trim, but it is finally to her shoulders again.

Happy Valentine's Day!

So Today is a pretty exciting day for us! We have an announcement to make first. We are expecting our third kiddo. Not only that, but we found out today that our new little one is a BOY! We are 19 weeks and 2 days today and our baby looks wonderful and healthy and is due July 9, 2011 but measured a little bit bigger than that so pry about a week early. We are all having a pretty nice Valentine's Day. Tomorrow Luke and I will have been married for 7 Years. Happy Anniversary Honey! Guess what baby, you got a pretty great gift, you know that we are having a little boy! ;) Today and tomorrow are sort of bitter sweet though, this morning Earl's mother (Luke's step dad's mom) passed away, and one year ago tomorrow my grandmother passed away. I miss you lots Grandma!! Also a year ago we also had an ectopic pregnancy around this time. So Lots of wonderful things, but also lots to reflect on. I am happy and I know everything happens for a reason and that those we lost will be with us again some day! Hope Everyone is Having a Wonderful Day!!

We have succeeded in finding one. I wanted something with low miles, plenty of room, good price, mechanically sound, and something that felt good to drive. Well we found a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country with 59,000 miles within our price range. Did I mention it has complete stow and go seating in the back, a dvd player, and remote start. Oh the luxuries, not the reasons I purchased this vehicle at all, but hey the girls love it too! We brought it home last night. We no longer have our Corolla, but our payments have decreased a good amount. So here she is our new Van:

New Windows

Since day one of living in our condo, we knew our windows were below average and not good what so ever. Well, we were finally able to get new ones. We did our sliding glass door and three windows and we Love them!

Christmas

Sorry for such a late Christmas post! We had a wonderful Christmas. First we opened presents just the four of us at home, then went to Grandpa Phil and Grandma Vicki's, then to Grammy and Papa's. We spent time with Aunt Bekah, Uncle Mark and Vivian, and a few others. It was a wonderful day and we enjoyed spending time with everyone. Could only have been better if the rest of our family were with us too. We missed them all!

Every year the Ogborn's host a ginger bread making open house. We try to make it when we are here for Christmas time! It is always a blast and we love spending time with them! All four of us made a house and I think they are all really cute!
