Yahoo as of late have been pushing to once again emerge as a giant within the software and community driven websites. With the recent acquisition of Tumblr for an estimated 1.1 billion dollars its apparent that Yahoo! is seeking to connect with the ‘younger’ audience they have neglected for a long time time now. Today they have re-designed the out dated flickr.com , a much needed re design. The focus is now on the photos, with a tumblog style of large photos that enlarge when clicked out the user to view all the photos of an uploader without all the distracting white space there once was. Volkswagen Teams Up With Apple To Bring New iBeetle

Apple and Volkswagen have teamed up and brought a new car out and it will be the iBeetle. Together they have collaborated to bring a new driving experience with the special iphone application integrated into the dashboard. The car also comes with a beetle app that has really cool features ”including spotify, expert (extended dashboard functions on your iPhone), trainer (calculate driving times, distances, fuel economy, and share tips such as traffic data or route preferences on social media networks), postcard (sends your current location to your friends), photo (takes photos inside the car), and milestones.” . It’s wednesday and a perfect time for some website inspiration to get over the hump this week. Today we have 2 great website to look at. The first is http://www.workdiary.de/ foreign language or not the site is amazing, the color scheme used paired with large images to break up the grid caught our eye quickly. The grid system used is simple and easy to navigate. In a time when everyone’s portfolio website is the attraction instead of the actual work in the portfolio, Michael lets his amazing work be the focus of the site;using photos in gray scale and going in full color once clicked. Shepard Fairey: Mission Patch Design For CASIS – ARK1

American designer and street artist Shepard Fairey got to create a patch for the International Space Station (ISS). Shepard got the chance to design a nex patch that astronauts will wear on the CASIS – ARK1 which is scheduled to happen in September 2013 to March 2014. “It’s a really special thing,” said Fairey. “I’m just flattered and honored that I could create something that becomes just a small symbol of how things can move forward.” Here are some pictures of the patches and video of his thoughts on it.
