(she has a friend that started this year also)

Now, these girls would be nice to her in the classroom, but at lunch it was a different story. One day there was not enough room and they had to sit at the 6th grade table. Now you know she would rather die than have to sit at the 6th grade table - she told me, "Mom, it was soooo embarrassing!!"

As a mom I felt her pain and wanted to go up to that school and set those kids straight. This was a Christian school and kids shouldn't feel left out. I thought, "Where are the teachers? Don't they see what is going on?"

Then I thought about taking a pizza or Bojangles or some great lunch up there for just her and her new friend and nobody else.

But neither one of those options sounded very Christ like so I decided to just pray.

So on Friday at the end of my prayer I wrote:

"God I pray for my two daughters, especially my 8th grader (in my prayer I used their names I am just keeping the anonymous for now) that they will fell loved and accepted by YOU. I pray favor for my 8th grader and her friend, and today somebody would include them. But I know you are using even this for her good. In Jesus Name, Amen"

On Friday afternoon when I picked up my 8th grader she was so excited and told me her and her friend got to sit with the girls and they did not ask her to move and they talked to her. BUT then I got to share how I prayed for her and how God answered my prayer. She got to see God's hand on her life and that He cares for her.

What God reminded me that day was to pray about everything. Don't live in fear and worry or try to take matters in our own hands, but rather live by faith and pray.

And it also worked out as a great reminder to my daughter that God cares about what she is going through and we need to pray. I only wish I had prayed with her about this situation together earlier, but God still worked it all out for His Glory.

Remember God is our Wonderful Counselor and we need to take all our problems and issues to Him first.

Martha

Literally, if you were married to Jesus, how would you treat him?"

The most common answer to that question is "Well, if my husband acted anything remotely like Jesus I would treat him that way."

That's a good point, but men are sensitive in their egos. They are very aware of whether or not they are being respected or made to feel insignificatn. Honor is oxygen to a man's world. He will gravitate to the place where he has the most honor.

In the same way, he will move away from the place where he does not receive honor, because it's painful for him.

How do you show honor to your husband? One way is to allow him to fail. I'm not talking about self-destruction, but simply about allowing your husband to get some things wrong without shaming him and nagging him.

A lot of people - women included - have a need to be right, which means they can't let an instance of wrongness pass by without correcting it. We're all human. Every husband is going to make some mistakes. But if you're in the habit of pointing out every single mistake your husband makes, they way you treat him is severely lacking in honor.

Let a few of his failures escape without comment. What's more important: being right or being happy?

Another way to honor your husband is to confront him, when necessary, in love. But when you do, let God be the enforcer.

As your husband's equal, you have the right to tell him anything you want to tell him. But it's not your job to brow-beat him and constantly make his life miserable until you get your way.

Say what you need to say, then let the Holy Spirit take over from there. Pray for him. Ask God to change his heart. But don't take it upon yourself to punish him.

Your job isn't to change your husband. Your job is to honor him.

This weekend is Commitment Weekend and I am so excited to see what God is going to do through C3 the next two weekends! As we prepare to bring our commitments this weekend, I wanted to invite you to join us in three days of praying and fasting, starting Sunday evening, November 15. We will conclude the fast at 20/20 Night on Wednesday, November 18 with a Night of Prayer at 7:00pm.

We are praying and fasting as we seek God for what He wants us to do the following weekend for Miracle offering Weekend on November 21 and 22.

If this is your first time fasting, here is some information, and you can find more resources on c3church.com or in the Source.

What is Fasting?

The fast is a spiritual discipline designed to better connect us with God. As a church, we are fasting to prepare our hearts for what God is going to do, and to stretch our faith to believe Him for big miracles. The best way to do this is to redirect our food source. This is accomplished through substituting our regular food intake with Bible reading, praying and journaling. The overall goal is to experience a genuine hunger for spending time with God and to grow our faith in what God can do!

Normally, fasting means to abstain from food or drink for a certain period of time as a religious practice. However, it may extend to anything that may be a source of pleasure, satisfaction, or personal gratification.

Some of the purposes of fasting are to express love and surrender to God; prepare for a time of spiritual decision making, and to express discipline over our physical lives.

Begin praying about whether or not God is calling you to fast with us. See you at Commitment Weekend!

Martha

I believe that the wisdom we need for every situation is found in God's Word, but the problem is a lot of times, we don't know what God's Word says.

So, as I mentioned in this weekend's message, here is one way to teach your children scripture (and their ABCs). You can take one a week and memorize and then as you go down the list, continue to review the scripture for each of these letters.

When I was a little girl, this is how I learned my ABC's and I still remember these scriptures. It's a great tool, moms and dads!

<p align="center" class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;

As we conclude our UpRising series, we have two big weekends coming up at C3. The first is Commitment Weekend, which is this weekend, and Miracle Offering Weekend on November 21 and 22.

As we get ready for these weekends, remember to...

Pray - We are challenging each of you to join us a for three days of praying and fasting November 15-18 as we pray and believe for God to do the impossible. Then on 20/20 Night (November 18), we are going to come together as a church body for a night of prayer.

Commit - This weekend (November 14 and 15) we are going to be turning in our Commitment Cards during each of our four services.

Give - On November 21 and 22 we will celebrate through giving at our Miracle Offering Weekend. Begin praying about what God would have you give that weekend.

Matt and I love sharing the 2010 Vision with each of you and made a video to share from our hearts about all we are praying and believing God wants C3 to do in 2010. The best is yet to come!
