engage. Sheridan looks to counter, so not much happens early. More
jabs from „The Sheriff,“ who then follows up with a body kick. Vake
throws his own kick, but it goes low. The fight restarts. Vake
clinches and turns Sheridan’s back to the cage. Vake gets
underhooks but can’t do much. They separate. Sheridan lands some
jabs, and a kick from Vake hits his opponent’s forearm. Nice jabs
from Sheridan, who counters a low kick. Vake is hurt and covers up.
Sheridan lands a knee to the body, then a high kick to the guard,
and keeps the pressure on. Sheridan gets a muay thai clinch and

Women’s strawweights light the fuse for UFC Sacramento, as Dyer
(7-1, 1-0 UFC) toes the line against Reed (8-5, 4-5 UFC) at 115
pounds. David Shurley adjudicates matters. They set sail with no
glove touch. Strong leg kick from Reed. Dyer answers with an
overhand right. Leg kick from Dyer, who takes the center and backs
her counterpart to the fence. She lands another hard leg kick. They
trade jabs in the center of the cage. Nice front kick to the body
from Reed. Dyer sneaks in a head kick, then a one-two and a body
kick. Reed not exactly looking comfortable here. Inside leg kick
from Dyer, who holds all the measurable advantages in this matchup.
Dyer presses forward behind a one-two, retreats and scores with an
inside leg kick. Halfway home in this round. Reed scores with a low
kick and follows it with a kick to the body. Dyer follows a right
hand with a slapping head kick. She snatches a brief clinch and
cuts loose with a few close-range elbows. Ninety seconds on the
clock. Powerful volley from Dyer, who highlights it with a clubbing
left hook. Reed lands a body kick. Dyer staggers her opponent with
a vicious right and follows it with another head kick. Reed grabs a
clinch out of desperation and camps out along the fence. Sharp
knees to the body from Dyer, who leans into a spinning elbow at the
bell.

better of it. Dyer circles into open space and drives a front kick
into her opponent’s midsection. Chopping overhand left from the
Englishwoman. She knocks Reed off-balance with a right hand, allows
her to stand and flurries along the fence. She follows with a left
hook to the body and another to the head. Another head kick from
Dyer. She clinches and scores with knees to the body, then presses

the round. Dyer lands a one-two, then follows it with a right hook
to the body and a left to the head. Reed bleeding from a
significant cut near her right eye. Dyer trips the American to the
floor in the waning seconds, then settles in the clinch.

Reed’s corner at least considered the idea of calling it between
rounds. Dyer steps forward behind a one-two and merciless pressure.
They clinch along the fence. Another one-two from Dyer, who backs
it up with a head kick. Reed looks like a beaten fighter. Dyer
moves forward, walks through a few side kicks to the body, resets
and circles into open space.
Hellacious punching combination from Dyer, who keeps her foot on
the gas until the referee has no choice but to stop
it.

Attention at UFC Sacramento now shifts to the middleweight
division, where Schultz (9-3, 1-1 UFC) awaits McVey (7-2, 1-2 UFC)
at 185 pounds. Jason Herzog draws the officiating assignment. Away
they go. Schultz greets him with a one-two and a spinning backfist.
McVey clinches. Schultz trips his opponent and bites down on a
guillotine, rolling through several scrambles. McVey escapes and
clinches, only to get turned into the fence. Schultz flirts with a
single-leg, then breaks free. McVey plods forward behind his jab
but walks into a one-two. McVey now the busier of the two men,
firing punches to the body and head. Midway through the round.
Schultz targets the body with a right hand. McVey steps into a knee
to the body, plods forward and gets off a multi-punch combination.
Nice left hook to the body from McVey, who seems to be winning on
pace alone. He unloads with a crushing knee to the solar plexus.
Schultz collapses and eats a few hammerfists before Herzog decides
he has seen enough.

Holding a 5-0 professional record with three victories under the

Professional Fighters League banner, Eoin
Sheridan is just getting started, but he believes the stage is
already set for his rise. Sheridan will return to action against
James
Vake in a welterweight showcase bout at PFL Tampa, where he
hopes to move closer to championship contention.

The final event of the PFL Summer Series will be headlined by
Cris
Cyborg welcoming Ketlen
Vieira to the promotion in a women’s featherweight title fight.
The card will also feature several rising prospects. In an
interview with Sherdog.com, Sheridan discussed his immediate future
and what fans should expect from his matchup with Vake.

Eoin Sheridan faces James Vake at PFL Tampa with a 5-0
professional record

Now ranked in the Top 10, Sheridan believes he is beginning an
exciting journey toward the top of a welterweight division infused
with new talent.

“It’s going great so far with the PFL, my momentum is certainly
picking up and I’m officially ranked in the Top 10. My time here is
going well, and hopefully it’ll continue to do so. It’s a massive
promotion and obviously now after we merged with
MVP, it’s an exciting time to be an athlete in the company and
I’m excited to see what’s next.”

Sheridan is not focusing on any particular game plan or element of
Vake’s skill set. Instead, he looks forward to showcasing his own
abilities.

“I just can’t wait to go out there and just do what I do. Whatever
presents itself in this fight, I’ll look for it. I don’t think too
much into fighting or the matchup, fighting comes second nature to
me. I’ve been doing it for a long, long time, many, many years. I’m
dangerous in the cage for anybody. I’m a 6’5” sniper, so be
careful, he needs to be careful.”

In addition to carrying considerable self-belief, Sheridan takes
pride in representing Ireland and envisions helping bring the PFL
back to Dublin.

“I think the Irish are built for fighting, it’s in our blood. For
me, it’s just years and years of consistency and discipline and
continuing to show up and continually improving, and learning from
mistakes as well. This is what gives me confidence and then just
the sheer size of me for this division, their hands are going to be
full. It’s an honor to represent Ireland, and I’m a kickboxer so I
like to stand and bang, that’s how the Irish like to do it. We’re
well-rounded fighters and there’s plenty more of us that haven’t
even broke onto the scene yet. But I’m happy to be one that’s
leading the way.”

Sheridan, who admitted that he had to practice public speaking in
college, expects to enter the title picture in 2027 as the PFL
begins its next chapter with MVP. He plans to climb the rankings
while entertaining fans along the way. As for what they should
expect against Vake, Sheridan offered a simple promise: “expect
fireworks, The Sheriff is coming.”

Fresh off a 34-second knockout victory in his PFL debut earlier
this year, lightweight Dakota Bush
will return to action at PFL Tampa, where he’ll take on Morquez
Forest in a showcase bout. Bush will look to build on his
momentum. Having previously competed in
Legacy Fighting Alliance and the
Ultimate Fighting Championship, Bush feels he has found a home
in
Professional Fighters League. His arrival comes as the company
merges with
Most Valuable Promotions and opportunities emerge throughout
the roster.

In an interview with Sherdog.com, Bush discussed his arrival in the
PFL, his future in a fast-moving division and the timing of his
opportunity.

Dakota Bush targets Morquez Forest and the PFL lightweight
rankings after his explosive promotional debut

“It’s been amazing, man,” Bush said about his arrival to the PFL.
“It just kind of validated what everyone around me already knew. I
believe I’m one of the best fighters in the world, I just needed a
platform to prove it on, and the PFL has done that for me. I’m
super excited to get back in there again and show my updated skill
set and prove to the world that I am one of the best out
there.”

After making his debut in spectacular fashion, Bush is not looking
to rush his ascent in the division. Instead, he plans to produce
more highlight-reel performances and gradually climb toward the top
of the lightweight rankings.

“Everyone wants to be the champion, that sounds great when you put
it on paper and what not, but for me, my goal every time I step
into the cage is just to have my best performance to date. I really
focus on that, when you do that and you don’t look too far ahead,
you just focus on stacking them wins, and you get in the position
I’m in right now. I feel I can be a mainstay in this promotion for
a very long time and soon you’re going to see me fighting upwards
into the rankings. Business first in Tampa, I’ve got to check that
box first, and get another great finish.”

Bush recognizes Forest’s experience but believes he is the better
overall fighter.

“He’s a tough guy, has a record of 8-1, he’s fought in
CFFC which is a good promotion, they send a lot of guys to the
next level and he’s here now. He’s well-rounded, he does the right
things, but I just think that I’m a better fighter all across the
board. It’s my job to go out there and prove that to him, to the
world, and to myself.”

Although he preferred the quick first-round finish in his PFL
debut, Bush understands that he must always be prepared for a
grueling fight. His desire to serve as a role model to his kids
helps prepare him for any challenge and reminds them to never give
up on themselves.

“It’s my family, they’ve sacrificed so much for me to be in this
position and I’ve got two sets of eyes looking up to me, I can’t
mess this up. When things get hard or the opportunities present
themselves for you to quit, there’s so many spots in the fights
where you have the choice “Do I take the easy way out or do I
fight?” and that’s what pushes me, man. It’s easy to tell them what
to do but if you’re not living it, how are they supposed to believe
it and look up to it? So I’m trying to just prove it to my kids.
This is what hard work looks like. This is what you have to do. One
day they’re going to look back and know that their Dad never quit,
he worked his hardest, and he gave it everything he ever had. This
is what I’m trying to prove here.”

Whether the fight becomes a three-round war or ends with another
quick finish, Bush promises to dominate Forest and believes a
victory could propel him toward the rankings.

“If we take care of business and do my job, there’s no reason why I
shouldn’t be fighting into the rankings in my next fight or in the
rankings. I’m not 100% sure if [champion] Usman
Nurmagomedov is leaving the company, word on the street he is,
and that frees up a lot of movement in the division because he’s
already beat me so many guys. For me, the opportunities are endless
and I’m super excited.”

line in her retirement fight after her opponent unprofessionally
missed weight.


PFL Tampa is now headlined by a non-title fight due to Ketlen
Vieira unprofessionally coming in 7.2 pounds over the
featherweight limit. The fight will move forward, although Vieira
will be fined a percentage of her purse and won’t be able to win
Justino’s title. „Cyborg“ responded to the weight miss by saying, „Chute Boxe style. We don’t care. Porrada. See you tomorrow.“

One of the greatest women’s mixed martial artists of all-time,
Justino enters what might be her final MMA fight with a
professional record of 29-2. The Brazilian is 8-0 inside Bellator
and PFL and previously held titles in the UFC and Strikeforce.
Justino’s most recent defeat came to Amanda
Nunes back in 2018, but vicious wins over Sara
Collins, Larissa
Pacheco and Cat Zingano
show that she hasn’t missed a step. Ever the professional, „Cyborg“
weighed 145 pounds on the dot.

Meanwhile, Vieira didn’t live up to her „Fenomeno“ nickname at the
weigh-ins. The Nova Uniao product came in an embarrassing 7.2
pounds overweight at 152.2 pounds, despite fighting at bantamweight
inside the UFC. The 34-year-old is 2-2 in her last four fights,
losing to Kayla
Harrison and Norma
Dumont.

PFL Tampa will air live on ESPN. The early card starts at 5:30 p.m.

The
Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to Sacramento is now
official following the UFC Fight Night 285 weigh-ins.

The main event of
UFC Sacramento will see middleweight contender Anthony
Hernandez take on tested veteran Gregory Rodrigues. Both men had no
issue making weight for the five-round fight. In fact, all 26
fighters on the card successfully hit their marks.

Hernandez (15-3, 1 NC) is looking to bounce back after a deflating
TKO defeat to Sean Strickland earlier this year. The setback
derailed an impressive eight-fight win streak for „Fluffy.“ The
American is just 32, so he’ll look to grow from the defeat to the
now-champion. Hernandez weighed in at 186 pounds on the dot.

Rodrigues (19-6) is the older fighter at 34 years old, but is
riding a three-fight win streak. „RoboCop“ most recently knocked
out Brunno Ferreira in impressive fashion. The Brazilian has won
six of his last seven fights. Rodrigues weighed 185 pounds exactly
for his second UFC main event.

UFC Sacramento will air in its entirety on Paramount+. The main
card starts at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, while the prelims begin at 5
p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.

The former
Ultimate Fighting Championship flyweight titleholder will have
an opportunity to reclaim the title against Joshua Van
at UFC
331 on Sept. 19 in Los Angeles. He suffered an arm injury early
in their first meeting in December last year and has been focused
on recovery and his Octagon return ever since.

Alexandre Pantoja says an early arm injury defines his view of
first Joshua Van fight

Pantoja believes his title loss is sometimes portrayed as though
Van simply beat him, which the Brazilian disputes.

“He not beat me, you know?” Pantoja said in a recent interview. “I
know like an athlete, I lose the fight, I know I lose my belt, I’m
not my champion anymore, but it’s not someone beat me.”

Pantoja also pointed to his strength of schedule at 125 pounds,
noting that he has faced much of the division’s elite, defeated
some opponents multiple times and put together an eight-fight
winning streak before losing the belt.

“I fight with the best fighters in my division,” Pantoja said. “I
fight with the whole Top 10, I beat some guys three times and I
have eight wins in a row, you know, with the best fighters.”

However, Pantoja admitted that the lack of recognition doesn’t
bother him enough to change his approach.

“I don’t have a lot to recognize, you know, but for me that’s
okay,” he said. “What I want is to be the best fighter in the
world. I try to be that guy every day in my life, because I’m
training very hard. Joshua Van can be sure, I want that fight more
than ever.”

Mauricio Ruffy expects Arman Tsarukyan’s wrestling to test his
preparation at UFC 331

Ruffy has emphasized that he wants his actions to do the talking
when he faces Tsarukyan.

“Talking, anyone can talk, but I like to walk, the actions do the
talking,” Ruffy told UFC on Paramount.

Ruffy said he had already been training extensively before the
matchup was finalized, including a stint in Thailand following

UFC Freedom 250.

The Brazilian expects Tsarukyan’s wrestling to be a major factor
but believes his preparation will speak for itself.

“I always want to get better, we know that the wrestling is going
to be something that’s strong but I’d rather show [my
improvements,]” Ruffy said.

Ruffy also expressed considerable respect for the challenge
Tsarukyan presents.

“I know he’s a very tough fighter, actually probably the toughest
challenger [in the lightweight division,]” Ruffy said. “It’s a
challenge, I’ve trained a lot for this, I’d rather not talk and
just show people.”

Jones is exploring additional stem cell treatment as he looks
to regain some of the mobility he has lost over the years.

The former
Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight and
heavyweight champion recently revealed plans for additional
treatment after speaking with Joe Rogan, who told him about his own
experience with the therapy. He also revealed that depending on the
result, a return to fighting could be in the cards.

Jon Jones says Francis Ngannou’s callout and the heavyweight
landscape have reignited his desire to fight

Jones said Rogan introduced him to Ways2Well and told him he had
experienced improved movement after receiving stem cell treatment
there.

“You never know what’s going to happen in life. I just talked to
Joe Rogan the other day, and he’s like, ‘I’ve got some friends out
at a place called Ways2Well, who gave me some initial stem cells
and I have been moving around way better than I used to’,” Jones
told Sporf.

Jones said Rogan encouraged him to continue the treatment to see
whether he experiences further improvement.

“So, I’m going to get more stem cells and see if that’s true and I
regain the mobility in my hips that I once had,” Jones said.

Despite his physical concerns, Jones‘ motivation remains strong,
particularly after working with Olympic wrestling gold medalist
Gable
Steveson.

“My heart and spirit are always there when it comes to fighting,”
Jones added. “Being around and coaching Gable Steveson and getting
called out by Francis
Ngannou and seeing how wide open the heavyweight division is,
it obviously creates this itch that I feel like I really want to
scratch.”

Jones will also continue working with Steveson as he monitors how
his body responds to training.

“I’m just going to let time tell me,” Jones said. “I’ll take Joe’s
advice and take more stem cells and continue to pour my energy into
Gable and continue to be his number one training partner, which
will obviously show me a lot about where I am physically.”

developed a bitter rivalry outside the Octagon. Tsarukyan,
meanwhile, has drawn considerably less respect from the former

“Don’t get me wrong, I respect Ilia, but we’ve had beef for years,”
Pimblett added. “I think he’s a little helmet. I’d love to fight
him and give him shit. Arman Tsarukyan, I’ve got no respect for at
