I absolutely love Elton John and have since I was a kid. When I heard that he was going on tour and coming to Raleigh, I was pumped! I called my Mom and invited her. I knew that she loved Elton John too. I found out when the tickets were going to go on sale and told her to log onto the internet and I did the same using my clear internet Troy. We were going to be on the phone with one another and see who got the best tickets. We both logged onto ticketmaster.com right before the tickets were going to go on sale and got ready. We kept clicking refresh and getting ready for the big moment. When nine o’clock rolled around we were both trying to get tickets. I was totally bummed because the best seats at the best prices were already gone. The only tickets that were left were the ones that costs well over two hundred dollars. Mom and I decided that we weren’t going to go if we couldn’t get tickets for better prices. Maybe we will have better luck next time!

Target Shooting Practice

Hubby and I are planning to go to the firing range this Friday to practice our shooting skill because we are planning to get our concealed handgun license later this year. Dear hubby had been planning this for awhile but so far the plans have not push-through. We are hoping that we can get it soon. I know that I need more practice but on the other hand, hubby is really a good shooter overall. Also, going to the range for us is another way of spending our quality time together as husband and wife.

When my husband first got deployed, the only thing I could think about was what life was going to be like without him here at home. I knew I was going to miss him terribly since we had never spent more than a couple nights apart since we got married. Then I started worrying about whether or not I would be safe in this day house all by myself. Before they left we got a security system from home security systems Richmond which has made feel a lot better, and I'm glad we put in the extra effort. I really miss Jim and I can't wait for him to come home soon… Only a few more weeks now. I had my first child only about four months after he left, so he has yet to meet his baby girl. I can't wait to see the look on his face when he finally gets to hold her in when I get to hold them in my own arms once again!

Snub-nosed revolvers

I would like to talk about snub-nosed revolvers because I am very interested in getting one later this year. As many people may well know, prior to the mid-1980's, the standard police issue handgun typically was a 6 shot 38 special revolver with a 4 inch barrel, usually Smith and Wesson was the most popular choice. At the same time many officers also carried 38 special snub nosed revolvers as a back up weapon, usually with a barrel length of 2 inches, sometimes shorter, often times these handguns had a capacity of 5 shots. The great thing about this was that your main sidearm fired 38 special and your back-up gun fired the same cartridge, so it made a great combination. In the mid-1980's many police departments switched from 4 inch 38 specials to 9mm semi-automatic handguns, however, many police officers continued to carry their snub-nosed 38 special revolvers as a back up weapon. I currently own a 38 special with a 4 inch barrel, but I would also like to get a snub nosed revolver, although I am not sure which caliber to choose as of now. Unfortunately because the 38 special is not being shot as much as before, the cost of ammunition has gone up, typically a box of 50 rounds will run between $17.00 - $20.00 for FMJ, and when I started shooting several years back, they used to be about $8.00 - $10.00 for a box of 50.

So if you are looking for a snub-nosed revolver, you are in luck, because in this day in age, you can get a snub-nosed revolver in a variety of calibers other than 38 special, these include 44 special, 40 smith and wesson, 357 magnum, 22 magnum, 22 LR, 9mm, and much more. Right now I am looking at the new charter arms bulldog in 40 Smith and Wesson mostly because I own a 40 caliber Glock handgun, and it would be great to take to the range. I am also considered a Ruger 9mm Revolver because the ammo is inexpensive. Lastly, I have been looking at the Armscor 38 Model 206 because it can be found for under $200.00 and it has a 6 shot capacity. Now keep in mind that Armscor also makes 1911 pistols which are good quality, and are made in the Philippines. The Model 206 is said to be a copy of the Colt Cobra and looks to be a very good shooting snub-nosed revolver. So when I decide which gun I am going to buy, I will do another review on accuracy, recoil, and overall impressions of the gun.

Resident Evil Dead Aim for PS2

Just recently I added a fantastic new game to my collection which is Capcom's Resident Evil Dead Aim for Playstation 2. This game was released in 2003 and is probably one of the lesser known Resident Evil games. What makes Dead Aim unique is that it is a shooting game that is similar to Time Crisis and is also compatible with the Guncon 2, although you can still play it with a standard Playstation 2 controller. The story takes place on a boat for the first part of the game and you are in control of a character named Bruce McGivern, an American who is a member of an Anti-Umbrella organization, and for some parts of the game, you can play as Fong Ling who is a Chinese spy/government agent. Together Bruce and Fong Ling fight off hordes of zombies, hunters, and numerous other enemies with a large array of weapons, including a few new weapons and classic weapons as well. Fong Ling carries an assault rifle, which looks almost like a pistol version of the M16, and I have to say, it is a lot of fun to gun down the enemies with this particular weapon. I have not yet finished the game, but so far I have run across a new type of Tyrant with extra large hands and a heart on its back, a female Tyrant, and a new advanced type of Hunter which can be kind of annoying since they like to jump at you. Overall, I have to say that the game is a lot of fun, although those people who loved the original Resident Evil games may not like how different this one is. Some people may remember Resident Evil's first attempt at a shooter type game when they released Resident Evil Survivor in 2000, and trust me, Dead Aim is much better than what others have told me about Resident Evil Survivor. One of my only complaints about this game is that it can be difficult to aim with a standard controller, and some of the cut scenes look kind of funny, but in conclusion, I have to say that this game is great for people who are huge Resident Evil fans like me and it definitely is worth a try.

Channeling my inner princess with a canopy bed

There are all kinds of things that I've looked at online while thinking about redecorating my bedroom. I've looked through all kinds of design blogs and spotted things that I've really loved, some of which have been way out of my budget. But I've done a whole lot of research on the subject and I've decided that I want to spring for a canopy bed.

When I was online looking for an affordable one, I came across some info on California sears window replacement that sounded really great. So I decided to take advantage of it and get my much-neglected windows replaced.

I did find a really cute canopy bed, along with a really great deal on some curtains to hang from it. The overall look for my bedroom is going to end up being rather Victorian looking, but in a cool updated way, like if Anthropologie designed it with that intent. I'm really pleased with how everything looks so far and now I don't have to worry about buying some curtains that will distract from my ugly windows.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Limited Edition

Just recently I was able to purchase Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Limited Edition. This edition has the game, but it also contains a 200+ page artbook, which is really good because this edition is getting very hard to come by. This Collection includes Metal Gear Sold 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear: The Peace Walker, and I have heard that it is possible to unlock the MSX versions of Metal Gear as well. I have to say that my personal favorite of these has to be Metal Gear Solid 3 because it shows the origins of the series which started in the 1960s and I know at first it seems that it is going to be boring since Snake uses weapons and equipment from the 1960's, but this game really is amazing. I liked the fact that you get a 1911 pistol with a silencer and an M16 rifle (they call it something else in the game) equipped with a silencer, and I have to say, you can probably finish the game with just those two weapons. The M16 is amazing because you can sneak up on enemies and take them out, especially with the silencer. At first, I remember this game seemed boring, but once I got into it, I couldn't stop playing it, it really is amazing.

Metal Gear Solid 2 was a great game as well, although very controversial because you played as Raiden for most of the game, and not Snake, which I hated when I first played it, but now I have to say this game is amazing as well. I wont give away too much about this game, but towards the end, it gets very weird, but for whatever reason, that's when I really started to enjoy it. The weapons on MGS2 were good also, and I will never forget the opening Full motion video with the Russian Special Forces taking over that ship, they really were quite scary. I didn't like all of the enemies, but I think Vamp was one of my favorite bad guys, and fighting 3 Metal Gear Ray's at the end was almost impossible, I wanted to throw the control after getting killed so many times. Some of the weaponry changed, but favorites such as the Socom Pistol were still there, and the AKS74U was a great addition to the game, but ultimately the sword at the end was the most surprising.

Lastly, I have to say that I have not played the MGS The Peace Walker since it was originally for PSP and I never owned a PSP. I also have not played the MSX versions of Metal Gear, but I am a huge fan of all of Hideo Kojima's other Metal Gear games so I think they are going to be excellent. For those people who are new to the series, you might be wondering, what is so great about Metal Gear? Well, I have to say the story is unique, complicated, political, it has a lot of Drama, Action, suspense, and even Comedy, and I have to say that it has the most genuine dialogue I have ever heard in a game, it sounds unscripted and realistic. The weapons are always awesome and even the music is unforgettable, so in closing, I have to say that this is a must have game, whether you get the limited edition or not, it truly will be a memorable experience. So get out there and find out for yourself how awesome this gaming experience really is.

Romanian AK47 underfolder

Hello everyone, today I am very excited because I was able to get a brand new rifle which is a Romanian WASR 10 with folding stock, basically it is a semi-auto AK47 from Romania but this one has an underfolding stock. When I first saw the gun today I could not believe how small and compact it was with the stock folded, at first I thought it was an AK pistol until I was able to notice that it had in fact a folding stock. So far I have just been able to take it out of the box and clean it. I do plan to fire it at the range very soon, and fortunately it fires 7.62 x 39 mm which is great because they run about $5.00 for a box of 20 rounds. If all works well, I would like to purchase a similar AK chambered for 5.45 x 39 mm, but for now this gun is totally awesome and I can't wait to take it out to the range to see what it can do.

Review of Fiocchi Ammo provided by Lucky Gunner

Last week I was able to go to the shooting range and as always I had a lot of fun. Everytime I go to the range I usually take one of my favorite rifles and handguns and I try to bring a new gun out as well. This last week I was able to take my Smith and Wesson 9mm Pistol which I like because it is simple, accurate and affordable to shoot.

This particular shooting session I had gotten about 50 rounds of 9mm Fiocchi Ammunition provided by Lucky Gunner. Fiocchi Ammunition, from Italy, is both accurate and very reliable. The Fiocchi ammunition that I had fired was 115 grain which is pretty much the standard weight for most 9mm ammunition.

I had just recently came across Lucky Gunner and I really like the prices that they have on ammunition and I will be purchasing from them from now on. I also have a 303 British rifle but I rarely fire it since the ammunition can be hard to find at times and when I do find it, it usually is very expensive. I noticed at Lucky Gunner that they have ammo for this rifle starting at $17.00 a box, which is pretty good because where I live, this same ammunition is over $30.00. So whatever gun you like to shoot, you should check out Lucky Gunner since they have a huge selection of ammunition for rifles, pistols, and shotguns, I highly recommend them.

Beretta 92/M9 Pistol

I would like to talk about a great gun that I have on my wish list of guns that I currently do not own, and one of these happens to be the Beretta 92 and the Beretta M9 which are made in Italy. First of all, what is the difference between these two pistols? Well there are a few slight differences although I was told that the main difference between the two is the sights. The Beretta 92 and its variants are the civilian versions of the M9 for the military, but I believe that it is possible to purchase either one of them as far as I know. Both guns have a 15 round magazine and look virtually identical, for the purpose of this blog I will refer to this pistol as the Beretta 92. As most gun enthusiasts already know, the Beretta 92 is the pistol that replaced the military's 1911 45 ACP handgun back in 1985 and is currently still in use with every branch of the military. Many people have often griped about changing from 45 ACP to 9mm, usually stating that the stopping power is lacking in a 9mm pistol. I will say that there have been instances of people being shot numerous times with a 45 and 9mm and not stopping dead in their tracks, so what is the remedy? Use a rifle or a shotgun! It should be noted that handguns are meant to be sidearms, weapons that can be carried easier, maybe even concealed, but at the same time not necessarily have stopping power. So what whatever the case, I would have to say that the 9mm fired from any handgun is adequate, it is very accurate, and whether you have to shoot an attacker 1 time or 15, it is usually capable of stopping an attacker so long as you have good shot placement. One of the former generals of the US Army a few years ago, said of the Beretta that it will do its part so long as the soldier does their part.

Before I continue, I should mention that the Beretta 92 as of now, is probably a bit outdated, is it a bad gun? No, definitely not, but it is showing signs of aging. How so you might ask? Well first of all it is a pretty big gun, I was able to check one out at the local gun shop and I have to say the grip is very large, I would have to say it is about as large as a Ruger P95, which I always considered very clunky. The Beretta has a long barrel, 4.9 - 5 inches, which I personally like, but for those that want more concealment and a large magazine capacity, this probably isn't your best choice. I have heard various stories about the Beretta 92 being unreliable, but as far as I can tell, most of these had been attributed to poor magazines, and poor ammunition. However, based on what I have researched, the Glock 17 is probably a superior choice. One other thing about the Beretta is that it has a 15 round magazine, which is good, but the Glock 17 in 9mm has 17 rounds, which I personally think is better, and another pistol, the FN Five-Seven in 5.7mm has a 20 round magazine so they both beat Beretta. But in all honesty, do we need more than 15 rounds? I would say 15 rounds is still pretty good, but probably in a combat situation most would feel better with 17 or 20. Accuracy is another issue, I have not been able to fire a Beretta 92, but it is a 9mm, and I have to say, the 9mm, whether in a Glock, Ruger, or whatever gun is probably going to be accurate, so this isn't a problem. In terms of looks, I have to say that the Beretta 92 is incredibly nice looking, especially compared to the Glock, which I love, but I have to admit, it is a little ugly. One last question about the Beretta, how do we mount a flashlight or laser? Well, some newer Beretta 92's have a rail, and the older ones, you can always get a laser grip, so this is not too much of a problem.

So some of you might be wondering, why would you want a Beretta 92 if it is outdated? Well, I have to say that the Beretta 92 is an iconic gun, it has been popularized by films such as Lethal Weapon as well as video games such as Resident Evil. The Beretta 92 is just an awesome looking gun, and I cant think of a whole lot of guns besides maybe the 1911 that have that same appeal. For me, I think that Resident Evil was the game that influenced me the most to consider getting a Beretta, especially the remake which featured a customized Beretta that is used by the characters Chris and Jill. I had even seen someone on Youtube who had customized his Beretta to look just like the one on Resident Evil, and I have to say, I was really impressed. While there is currently a newer model, the Beretta PX storm, I just have to say for me, if you want a Beretta, the 92 is the one I want. So if you want an iconic gun that works well for the range, home defense, or just collecting, the Beretta is a great choice.

Funny and Silly Photos

Sometimes I have to admit that I get bored and just have to find something funny, silly, or entertaining while surfing the net to make my day a little more exciting. Just recently, I found a website called Buzz LOL dot com that has many videos, pictures, and stories that are usually quite amusing and entertaining as well. Some of these include duckface, in which people and animals try to make their best duck face, and I have to say, the dog making the face is the best one. Buzz LOL dot com also features a section entitled funny autocorrect which I find hilarious as well because of what peoples new phones do automatically, it really is a blast to see all of the funny phrases that come out. Lastly, I have to say that the Photoshop Fail section is the best because it shows how you can never trust any picture in this world of photo shopping pictures; you just have to see these silly photos to believe it. Strange Rare Bullets

Hello everyone, I decided to make a quick little blog about some ammunition that I recently came across while cleaning out my father's storage shed. First of all, I came across a couple of bullets for a 38 S&W which is not to be confused with 38 special, it is a bullet that is wider and shorter than the famous 38 special, and it does not fit in a 38 special revolver. I found out that this cartridge fits in a revolver that I believe was produced in 1877, and I have a found a few floating around on online auctions, but they are usually in poor condition. I have been told that the old British Webley revolver in 38 is capable firing this bullet, although I am not 100% certain. Please keep in mind that there is a 455 Webley and a 38 Webley, and I believe both of these were in service in the UK during World War II and probably up until it was replaced by the Browning HP 9mm pistol in 1963 (Kind of late if you ask me).

Next I also found a couple of rounds from a 16 gauge shotgun, yes you heard right, a 16 gauge shotgun, I actually was able to find the gun at a pawnshop a few months ago, although, I personally feel that the only two shotguns a person should own are a 12 gauge or a 20 gauge. This goes without saying that if I find a 16 gauge shotgun at the right price, I might be tempted to buy it, although, again it is a very rare shotgun and ammunition is quite scarce.

So basically right now I am going to be in the process of finding some owners of these rare weapons and give them some free ammunition, unless of course I find someone who is selling one of these guns for a great price. This article should make people think about a couple of things, if you have trouble finding ammunition for your weapon at most sporting good stores and are into gun shooting and not gun collecting, find a gun with more readily available ammunition.

Perfect Dark for Nintendo 64

Today, I would like to talk about a very good game that many people may have forgotten already, and that is Perfect Dark. Perfect Dark was one of the last greatest games for the Nintendo 64 (released in 2000) and was made by RareWare the same team that made GoldenEye007 3 years earlier. Perfect Dark follows a secret agent in the future called Joanna Dark who must battle countless enemies which include aliens as well as humans. I always found the storyline somewhat confusing and hard to keep up with, but at the time, the gameplay was truly awesome and realistic, and the almost never ending amount of guns kept players interested. I have to also that this game is incredibly difficult, and towards the end of the game it seemed almost impossible, and to be honest, I don't know if I ever finished the game, but I did get very far. Some of the features that I really like about this game were sneaking up on enemies with the sniper rifle and taking them out, and shooting enemies with a 357 magnum pistol which packs a punch and takes out enemies pretty quickly. I also liked that later in the game you meet an alien ally, named Elvis (silly, I know) that helps you out with futuristic weaponry. I also found it amusing that when enemies were being shot they would mutter the words, "why me?" before dying, a feature that was sure to annoy some parents at the time. The game also used the "expansion pack" which was supposed to allow the Nintendo 64 to run better and allow for better graphics and features on the game. This game was truly an awesome experience 11 years ago and was a fun, and extremely challenging game. Unfortunately the sequel, or prequel to this game was made for XBOX 360 in 2005 and did not live up to the glory that was the Nintendo 64 version, I personally believe that they did too little with this game too late, and I hope I can do a review of that version sometime soon. In any case, Perfect Dark is definitely a classic and a game that is worth dusting off your Nintendo 64 for.

A roomy fall purse to get me through winter, too

I'm not sure why, but I've always been partial to big purses. They're just so much better because you can fit all kinds of things in your purse. I'm a really big believer in reading and I'm always reading one book or the other. I love to keep my books in my bag with me no matter where I go because I have all kinds of little extra minutes to read my book. That's the way that I get through books so quickly! But sometimes I like to read really big books, not just some measly little thin paperbacks. So I need purses that are roomy enough to support that.

I was looking online trying to find some really cute purses and nice prices to choose to buy. While I was looking, I ran across some info on Internet Providers. After that I decided to show it to my roommates and we chose to switch over our internet service to one of the providers on there.

I found the perfect roomy purse that's so in style right now. Besides, if a purse can't carry a lot then there's no way that I'm going to use it anyway.

Ninjutsu Technique: Oni Kudaki

I would just like to talk about a great martial art technique that is not only cool but quite practical as well, which is called Oni Kudaki, which means crushing the demon, or demon crusher, and I have to say, if applied full force, it definitely earns its name. Now this technique is used in a variety of martial arts such as Japanese Jujutsu, Aikijutsu, etc. and not just Ninjutsu, and it should be mentioned that other arts such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu use similar techniques which are only slightly different. I would also consider techniques such as the Americana and Kimura to be variations of this technique that are done on the ground. Getting back to the mechanics of the technique, there are several ways to do it, one mentioned involves the attacker throwing a hail maker type punch, the defender steps in and blocks the punch with his left arm (if it is a right punch) while simultaneously punching the attackers bicep with the right fist, and shooting the right hand under the bicep, clasping both hands together and locking the opponents elbow until they submit, although in a real situation an arm break may be necessary depending on whether or not the attacker is armed, has friends, or other dangerous variables involved. Some may have the question, what happens if they pull their arm back and you cant lock it? Well, simple, you didn't get hit in the face, so that's good, you punched their arm, so that is good as well, and lastly, they have opened themselves up for an attack such as a kick to the groin, eye poke, punch, roundhouse kick, heel kick, or pretty much whatever you may have in your striking arsenal, although I would probably just go with a groin kick or finger jab to the eyes. If my attacker had a knife, and I was able to pull this technique off through some miracle, again I would not wait for a tap, and the attackers arm will be destroyed, and most likely they would not be able to finish the fight because this type of arm break would be quite devastating. So if you want to try this technique out, please practice extreme caution, if you want some examples, I highly recommend looking at videos on the internet.
