Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy

Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy is the best-known comic and games shop in Austin, and it’s always a pleasure to get to work on projects for them. Here are two illustrations I created for their shop. The first was ordered at the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic: a poster offering alternatives to shaking hands starring various fandom favorites, in the hopes that it would help slow the spread of the virus by raising awareness of the need to avoid unnecessary contact. The second is the design for their 35th anniversary t-shirts. It was a real honor to be able to design these shirts, and I love wearing mine around town and having people tell me their Dragon’s Lair stories.

Apps in Space

These are a handful of the illustrations I created for an app that was in development, but got folded into another project, so it was never finished. I really enjoyed the space theme, and had a lot of fun coming up with concepts for their design. The wider illustrations were going to be panoramic backgrounds.

Pride Dinosaurs

I created these dinosaur designs in celebration of my LGBTQ friends, and the community as a whole. They’re playful and fun, and I’ve included several of the specific LGBTQ flags in alt versions of the designs. I love seeing people get excited when they see themselves represented. Another Amy Harrison project – this time, creating illustrations for her Write With Influence podcast episodes. Each month, Amy sent me the concepts for her weekly episodes, and I created concept illustrations based on the material. The artwork also features a limited color palette that I designed for Amy’s branding. Definitely had a lot of fun with this! Here is a sampling:

Amy Harrison approached me to design a logo and mascot (a cartoon version of herself) for her business Write With Influence. I’ve worked with her on other projects before. She’s always great to work with, so I jumped at the opportunity! The project included the cartoon avatar version of Amy, the logo design incorporating that character, a text only version of the logo, a business card design, and a YouTube header. I had a great time, and I really love the final product.

TTRPG Illustrations

I’ve been making art for tabletop RPG games in recent years, and it’s one of my favorite types of work. As an avid player myself, it’s fun to imagine what kinds of characters my illustrations might inspire players to create! I’ve illustrated standard fantasy RPGs, some unique fantasy universes, a fantasy Wild West setting, modern zombie apocalypse, and a handful of others.
