Dofollow links to your website is the most important factor when Google and the other search engines decides what position to give your website in the search engine results.
That's whay you shouldn't miss any opportunity to get fresh dofollow links with keyword rich anchor text or high pagerank pointing to your site.
To get keyword rich, dofollow links from Secret Search Engine Labs this is what you need to do:
1. Submit your URL (Your already did that)
2. Wait for your URL to get crawled and indexed, usually 5-8 days.

To get traffic from the search engines you need links to your website, lots of links. This is because the search engines give better rank to pages with inbound links than to pages with little or no links.

Here's an easy way to get links from blog comments. Just type the following search query into Google:

wordpress comments "your keywords"

Where you replace "your keywords" with the specific keywords your are targeting with your website.

When you search like that you will find wordpress blogs related to your niche where you can post relevant comments and include a link back to your site.

Make sure to use different variations of your keywords when you link back!

A good strategy when commenting on blogs is to write something that ads value to the discussion. That way some people reading your comment will become interested in what you do and click through to your website to check you out.

Links from blogs in the same niche as your website is a lot more valuable for SEO than links from random unrelated blogs. The search engines considers the theme of the link when deciding how to rank your site.

Webmaster, How to Select a Good Domain Name

This time I'm going to talk a little about how to select a domain name that is right for your business.

If you already have a busy website and you like your domain there's no need to change it but as soon as you set up a new website or if you are going to rebrand your business with a new business name you need to consider carefully what domain name to choose.

For those of your who don't know the domain name is the base part of the address you type into the browser address bar to open a website. Like "google.com", "secretsearchenginelabs.com" or "cnn.com"

First of all you need to know what you are going to use the domain for. It could be any of the following.

The website of your business.
A niche website to make money from ads or selling a ebook
A SEO website, like a feeder blog, that exist for the sole purpose of helping your business or niche website rank in the search engines.

Considering the different purposes a domain and website can have your might want to optimize your domain for some but not all of the following

A short name that is easy to spell and that people will remember after they have heard someone mention it on the radio or if they read about it two days ago.
A name the is built from the nr 1 keyphrase your are targeting with SEO
A name that does not conflict with trademarks or business names already in use in your target market (or you could lose your domain to a trademark holder)
A name you want to live with for many years (a lot of your marketing is tied to the domain name)
A name without hyphens if possible
A .COM or country specific domain for your business
A .ORG or country specific domain for your organization

Your Business Website

When your select a domain name for your business, most of the time your want the domain name to be the same as the name of your business.

If you have a long or complicated business name it's usually best to select a domain name that is a short version of your business name, the name of a popular product you sell or a completely new name

Branding is important here and you want a short and memorable name that you remember from the radio or from a billboard.

Always go for a .COM or a country specific domain extension, like .CA or .CO.UK, for your business.

Use a country specific extension if the large majority of your customers are from a singly country. The country specific extension will help your search engine rankings in that country, but will reduce your rankings in the rest of the world. Many times a country specific extension will make your look more trustworthy in the local market.

Use a .COM extension of you sell to many countries and especially if you sell to the US. The United States country specific extension .US is not popular so avoid it and use .COM

There is a reason to not use .NET domains. Most people only remember the name part of the domain and automatically adds .COM when typing it into the browser address bar. This means you lose a percentage of visitors that go to the .COM domain instead, and if there is something interesting (perhaps a competitor) on the .COM domain they may never return to your hidden .NET business.

If you really want to have a .NET domain make sure to also register the .COM domain with the same name and redirect it the your .NET website. That way you don't lose the type in traffic that uses dot com by mistake.

The same goes for hyphens. Many times your visitors will not remember the hyphen when they type in your domain and you'll lose some visitors again.

Five Deep Links For The Price of One - A Good Premium Directory

When you submit your site to paid directories you have to watch out that your submit only to those directories that give you SEO value for your money.

Webotopia

One place that has always delivered good value to my sites is Webotopia, a directory that tends to show up early in backlink reports and it also delivers actual traffic to my sites. Not many directories deliver real visitors these days.

Here's the stats:

PR 3

Pages in Google: 25,700

Alexa: 18,394

The important number here is the large number of pages indexed by Google. A listing that is not seen by Google is useless for SEO, no matter how good pagerank the directory seem to have.

As you can see in this listing we got for Secret Search Engine Labs there is a main link, a comprehensive marketing text, and then the five keyword rich deep links. (Remember to give us a good rating)

Last time I checked you get one main link PLUS 5 deep links with keywords for $29.99 and unlike many free directories the details page with the links is actually indexed by Google providing link juice to your site.

Best of The Web

Another great directory that has been around since 1994 is Best Of The Web. With a price tag of $149.95 per year this is not a cheap directory but with a pagerank of 7 and a domain age of 16 years a link from this one will carry a lot more authority with Google than a link from a low cost directory.

Time To Check Your Site Submission

It's time to check your site submission... and to get the free dofollow link!

For those of you that know a little bit about how Google works and maybe you have done some link building for your website here's the quick guide:

1. Check what the page analyze url is for the url you submitted here: Add URL and type in your submitted url http://bundazackycollection.blogspot.com/ in the box

The page analysis link, "See page analysis here", should be visible below the add url box if you submitted a valid url and it wasn't removed by a content filter. (see below for troubleshooting)

2. Click the link and you will go to the page analysis for your url.

3. Add a couple of links from your SEO blogs, from web 2.0 properties, from social bookmarking sites and from other pages to that page analysis page.

(There's an handy "Share" button on your page analysis page that you can use to submit it to social bookmarking sites.)

This will make Google find the page analysis of your site. This is good because the page analysis has a link back to your original url using keywords from your title tag. The link is dofollow so as soon as Google has indexed this page it will start to boost your search engine rankings.

You can also link from your own website (the one you submitted), but this is not as effective because it will be considered a reciprocal link by Google and they carry less value than one way links.

You can do this with as many URL as you like, but beware that only base domain urls are guaranteed to stay in the index as long as they follow the content guidelines. Additional pages from your site will be crawled automatically. You can submit deep links but the will get auto removed from the index after a couple of months if the spider finds no links to them.

Troubleshooting

The search engine is family friendly, meaning we index all kinds of pages but remove material that would be considered offensive to minors. We filter porn, sexually explicit content, profanity, spam pharmacy, and gambling.

Only HTML pages are index. If you submitted an PDF or XML file, a site for mobile devices or an image file it will be removed.

If you think you submitted a valid page and it has still not been indexed feel free to hit replay and ask me. I'll check what happened.

How to Get Links

If you are new to link building you may not know where and how to create links to the page analysis page. Here's a couple of alternatives: (if you're a link building pro you can skip this)

Social bookmarking sites

These sites lets you post bookmarks to websites you like. You have to create an account to get started if you don't have one already. The "Share" button on your page analysis page has a lot of links to more bookmarking services.

Free Blogs

There's many places online where you can get a free blog. You can use the blog to post short stories about your website and products and include keyword rich links to you website. You can also link to you page analysis page from the blog.

Forums

Forums can be a great source of links but make sure you are following all rules on the specific forum or you will get banned for spamming.

On some forums you can post links in any thread or there may be a specific section where you are allowed to advertise yourself, read the rules.

On most forums your are allowed to have a signature that can include 2-3 links to your websites or to your page analysis page here at the Lab

Blog Comments

Blog comments are probably the quickest way to get links. Find a blog that writes about a topic you are interested in, like the topic of your website. Then find an interesting blog post and create a comment with you view on the topic.

When you add some value to the blog your comment is much more likely to get approved by the blog owner, just posting "what a great post" will get your comment stuffed into the spam folder faster than you can say junk mail.

There's an advanced social bookmarking method called jiggling the web that can get a new page (like your page analysis or a new article you write) indexed in Google in under 24 hours.

Keyword research, finding the right keywords for your website or product, is one of the fundamental activities in SEO.

The keywords you use to promote your website effectively selects what people will be visiting your website and you better make sure this is people interested in buying your products and services!

If you sell your own product the type of visitor will determine your conversion rate and visitor value. If you use AdSense on your website the type of visitor will determine your CPM. If you sell advertising directly the type of visitor will determine how long people are staying on your website which affects your page view statistics.

The keywords you use to promote your website directly determines the level of income you will have from your website.

How To Choose Keywords

Fist of all you need to have an idea of what products or services your are going to sell. At this point I'll just assume you already know that.

Now you start by making a list of all keywords related to you main product or service by brainstorming. Just write down everything you can think of, here's a list to get your started.

Brand names
Who is using the product (dentist,webmaster, mothers etc)
Where is the product used (home, office, underwater, on website etc)
Related products (soap - shampoo, car - insurance, hosting - domain names)
Season (summer, Christmas, harvest etc)
Product features (low noise, easy to use, cheap, high availability, tasty, blue)

When you have a list of 50-200 keywords you are ready for the next step which is keyword tools.

Keywords tools helps you find synonyms and related keywords that you didn't think about. They also help you determine if a keyword is likely to bring in paying customers or just browsers. And finally they help you determine the level of SEO competition for a keyword.

The fist tool to use is the Google keyword tool which is free and uses the Google index to find relevant keywords. The Google keyword tool tells you exactly what people are searching for on Google, it lets you know what people are interested in and in great detail.

As en example I type in the keyword "add url" into the box I quickly find out that there is several types of "add url" searched for.

directory add url
search engine add url
seo add url

There is also some synonyms for add url

submit url
adding url
register url
add link

In my case as I run a search engine I might want to concentrate on the "search engine add url" and "seo add url". I also want to use the variations "submit url" and "add link" and probably also "search engine submit url" and "search engine add link"

As you see there is endless variations and you should now write down all the keyword that is relevant to your business and has some level of traffic. Use Excel or the free alternative OpenOffice.org, to easily keep track of your keyword lists.

Now that you have the keywords you need to find out the competition. If you are just starting out you don't want to take on a big competitor head on, instead try finding areas (keywords) that you competitor is neglecting and with those.

For every keyword in your list type in this at Google

allintitle:your keywords

Replace "your keywords" with your actual keyword phrase.

This query returns the sites that have your keyword phrase in the title of the webpage. Note the number of search results returned and write it down in your Excel or OpenOffice spreadsheet This is a rough indicator of the level of competition for that keyword.

And yes I know this is a lot of work so you might want to start with your most important keywords and continue with the rest later. (There's tools to make this task easier but they are not free so I'll tell you about them later...)

You now need to decide what page on your website is going to target what keyword. No single page should target more than two or in some cases three keywords/phrases, otherwise you have a loss of focus and the page will not be effective for sales or for SEO.

Finally you need to decide where to start. What pages you are going to build first and what keywords to optimize for first. A good idea is to start with the EASIEST keywords with the least amount of competition.

Sure you are not going to get a lot of traffic with these keywords, but you can expect to get a #1 Google ranking fairly quickly and with that you'll get some visitors and much needed feedback on you website and marketing message.

You'll also start generating some cash to help you along.

When you have mastered the easy keywords you just go on to the medium competition ones, and then you have those at #1 go on with the tough ones.

Now you probably think that this is a lot of work, and it is! But choosing the right keywords and target market can mean a ten fold increase in income ones the traffic is starting to flow.

And as I said earlier there's tools to make your work easier.

The tool I use the most for keyword research is Market Samurai, a desktop application that you install in your computer and that uses the Google keyword tool and the Google search box to automatically do the keyword queries you would otherwise have to enter by hand.

You can get the free version of Market Samurai here, or you can check out the paid version that include more thorough competition research by taking a look at the sales presentation here.

The other tool I use is NicheBotX, which is an online tool that gives you a lot more keywords, especially long tail keywords, than what the Google keyword tool provides. NicheBot also have tools for keeping track of your keyword lists and for doing different kinds of analysis on your keyword lists. They currently have a $1 trial going here if you want to check it out without spending more than a buck.

I'll end with a quick recap of what to do

Brainstorm initial keyword list based on your experience
Use the Google Keyword tool, NicheBotX or Market Samurai to generate additonal keywords
Use Google search, Market Samurai or NicheBotX to evaluate the competition for the keywords (this is where the tools save a lot of time)
Implement easy keywords and optimize until you have Google #1 listings
Implement medium competition keywords and optimize until you have Google #1 listings
Implement tough competition keywords and optimize until you have Google #1 listings
At this point you are making money

Now get to work!

Your Page Title is the First Thing That People See

The title of your Web page is the first piece of information that an Internet searcher will see about your site on a search engine's search results page. As a result, many people will decide whether or not to click to your site based on the title text.

To see your Web site's title, visit URL Search and then click on the Search button.

Title tags are also used for:
1. Indexing your site with almost all major search engines.
2. Describing your page when someone adds it to their Favorites or Bookmarks.
3. Provides the main hyperlink text that links to your site.

For these reasons, make sure that your title tag is descriptive, unique, clear, concise and contains keywords that people use when they are searching for your site. Do not use "Home Page". This is neither descriptive nor unique. Also, use different titles for different pages. This will allow your results to be unique in the results page if multiple pages from your site are displayed together.

To see your Web site's title that Active Search Results will display for your page, visit the URL Search page and search for the site that you submitted to Active Search Results for indexing.

industry including maintenance, installation, and commissioning.
