I had a problem today. it was about changing all district_id in a whole database. so I need to find who used district_id as column name in tables in oracle.

I have a linux server which has 2 disks on it. one of them is SSD and other is SATA disk. I wondered how fast is ssd is here is the output :) I should say this test done when server has load on it. pretty nice

one of my dead project which was about endoscopic data capture and saving in mp4 format. which was using blackmagic card to capture all data and it was working in linux with power of QT and ffmpeg.

I was thinking I may publish in google code svn repo. but there is no development plan on it so no need to have any repo. people who need to capture data from blackmagic capture card and save it in video file may find this as helpfull example.

strange java hibernate story from today

today I was developing a new request from customer. its not a big issue just adding a new Boolean field will cover the request and will work happly ever after. I added my new "isActive" field into hbm xml then pojo. and started the app in windows with tomcat maven plugin. there was nothing wrong hibernate started up smoothly and update the table and added my new field into the persistent level. I like hibernate more, everyday :)

its just like a dog. best friend of men. which helps for everything and expects only our love :D anyway I decided to deploy our new class to server which runs weblogic 11g. I went to ssh and run "svn up" then "mvn install" then went back to weblogic console for updating our big webapp. then I gave the path of war and said update then started the app. then started waiting log to come and make me smile :) and it said there is no getisactive function in the class. I just added and run in my laptop it was working fine. how the hell it happens I have no idea. java and oracle has a lot issues and terminology and keywords. I probably clash with one of them.

then I convert my field name to XboxActive and changed function names respectively. then without trying in my laptop directly deployed it. and it started working. sometime I dont have the power to investigate all details of a problem. and this is one of them :)

just a simple note dont use "isActive field ine a complex hibernate spring project if it runs on weblogic" :)

I was implementing some stuff in java and there I needed to show number as currency in turkish. here it comes

in default jvm thinks you choose US or it will check the system current environment. but if you like to change it. you can do the code above.

java regex pipe problem

I was trying to split a string to an array. and the special character was | (pipe).


String[] incomings=income.split("|");

and here is the out for income="abcd|efg"


{"a","b","c","d","e","f","g"}

then I understand that this pipe char turns this issue an regex one and doing some strange stuff :) after some research I found the solution. here is the solution for regex pipe


incomings=income.split(Pattern.quote("|"));

this makes the output for same situation like this:


{"abcd","efg"}

pg_dump and slowness

I am trying to make a backup of a very big postgresql(around 165 gb) for two days now. and at last I find out my mistake. never take a dump at same disk. it eats a lot of IO and kill all services which depends to dumped database.

first try I am dumping database to same disk and after around 6 hours web server started to giving timeout and lovely sitescope mails :) and I had to kill that process.

then I read a lot and started to dumping the database to another machine and it was smooth took around 4 hours to dump and no web server gave any timeout.

example commands

pg_dump -Fc dbname > db.backup

and I started restore like this

pg_restore -d dbname db.backup

before that I needed to recreate the db from psql. and this have not finished I must tell that pg_restore has -j parameter which gives more thread to read the dump file and you can give cpu number to -j which will work faster.

süper bişey öğrendim ki uzun süredir benimde linuxe geçişimde beni engelleyen sebeplerden birisiydi. hotmail hesabım :) evet hotmail hesabım var ve outlook veya live mail ile bakmayı seviyorum. webden bakmayı sevmiom. neyse nette gezinirken gördümki hotmail pop3 vermeye başlamış aha dedim olaya bak :)

aynen debiana geçtim thunderbird kurim dedim bide ne görem isim hak hukuk sebebiyle debianda Icedove olmuş adı. neyse açtım pop3 smtp falan tanımladım mailleri kapar oldum göndermeyi denemedim heral oda çalışır. bir problem var oda hotmaildeki folderlarımı göremiom. ama mesele değil muhimleri inbox a düşüyor bana yeter.

bakdım herkezin browseri var ie mcrosoft, sora safari apple sora ff mozilla gurubu. dedim benimde olmalı kolay olmalı :) air len yazam didim çok tatlı captionu var.

flex action script konuları iyice hoşuma gitmeye başladı. ortamı rezil flex builder var bi dene allaha emanet intellisensi ve import yönetimiyle sinir oynatabiliyor bazen. ama amaç öğrenmek olunca sabırla koncukladım :)

artık benimde işden güçden sıkılınca eğlencelik oynamak için yazdığım bir open source projem oldu. tabii bu kaçıncı oldu bende bilmiom :). adı wobserver aslında observer yapıcakdım ama googlecode izin vermedi aynı isim sourceforge da var dedi iyi dedim bende napem wobserver yaptım. svn verdi 40mb lıkda upload yapıp release etme hakkı veriyor. sourceforge kadar iyi değil ama böle ufak tefek projeler için biçilmiş kaftan open source yeriymiş bu googlecode.

her google hesabının 10 tane proje açma hakkı var ama istenirse daha fazlası için mailleşilebiliyormuş o 40 mb mevzuusuda artırılabilio haberiniz olsun.

yazılımda böyle birşey vardır herkezin anlayabildiği az kod güzel koddur diye. benim konuya bakış açım biraz daha küt. çalışan kod ve çalışmayan kod vardır. kod çalışıosa güzeldir derim. yinede aşağıdaki resim durumu açıklamakda daha sağlıklı.

uzun senelerdir kullanırım bu amf(Action Message Format) geyiğini bir satır yazmamışım onu fark ettim. amf özünde serverla swf yi konuşturmacadır. flashdan direk servera istekler gönderilirken kullanılan bir protokol. open source dünya için phpamf ve openamf(java için amf libi) var bunlar uzun süredir bi çok projede kullanılıyor.

şöyle bi .net ilişkili libleri toplayim istedim. bunlar pek yok piyasada bende kullanmadım ama oturmuş duruyorlar.

bu seferki davada epey sıkıştırdılar sanırım adamlar topluluklarını gazlamaya başlamışlar. yeni bi site kurmuşlar html 5 kasmışlar html de öyle yazıo temiz iş :) millet resmini yüklüyor üstünede "suçlu buna benzeyen bişeydir" yazıyorlar benim sayfam buyrunuz :)

flex module load problem

flex de swf yaptığımız module leri yüklerken bi şekilde yüklendiğinden ve hazır olduğundan haberimiz olması gerekebilir bi kısım aralarında kodsal bağlantı yaptıysanız. misal parentApplication da hebeleyi görmeniz gerek bunun içinde module1 in yüklü olması gerek neyse konu kodu yazınca daha iyi anlaşılıyor şimdi anlatamadım.

ama bi kaç gündür modulelerin içinden çağrılarda yada parenttan aşşağı yaptığım bağlantılarda habire patlamalar vardı meğersem module ün tam anlamıyla hazır olduğu ready event ine bağlıymış bense creationComplete de yapıodum atamayı buda null verebiliyordu.

hala vista kullanmıyorum bundanda mutluyum :) fakat videoda nerdeyse herkez vista dedi bi mac duydum arada. sanırsam xp beni daha senelerce götürür. kde 4 de çok ehven değilmiş kubuntumu upgrade etmeye gerek yok.

windows 7 için betamı indirsem yine betayken dener sıkılır sonra hiç bişeyi değiştirmeden yoluma devam ederim.
