A little bit of link spam here

I’m currently doing the C25k programme and enjoying it immensely! I’m about to start week 3 and although it’s causing me a bit of pain I’m feeling fitter and my stamina is improving day by day.

My sister asked me to run the Race for Life with her and we’ve signed up to run the 5km on July 10th this year at Leicester! Meep!

We’re able to wear a dedication on our backs as we run and I’ll be running for my friend Claire. Her bravery and honesty throughout her journey with cancer inspires me, breaks my heart and makes me love her.

I’m trying to raise as much as I can for cancer research so other people facing this disease have access to as much viable treatments as possible to help cure or delay the progress of the illness.

Please sponsor me if you can (and gift aid it) each penny really does help and also has the added benefit of keeping me motivated on days when I would rather eat chips* than go out and train.

Also, my wonderful friend Sarah Bell has organised, collated, created and printed a recipe book. It’s an amalgamation of recipes made by family and friends for her handfasting last year and all moneys raised from it’s sale are going to SANDS.

It has a few of my recipes in including my basic bread recipe and the infamous Mead.

Abi the Snowman

Abigail’s playgroup put on a little bit of nativity inspired singing for the parents today. It was lovely to see her all dressed up and enjoying the attention. She wasn’t best pleased at her solo bit but was happy singing along and playing her jingle bells with the others. I’m going to watch her do it all again tomorrow, although she’s decided she’d rather be Santa than a snowman…could be fun

Bonfire Night

We took both the sproglets out for the night with their Aunty and Uncle to see Leicester’s biggest bonfire and firework display at Abbey Park. Although Abi had been before, we decided to stay for the grownup display after the smaller children’s fireworks had finished. The sprogs both did really well with the late night, and hopefully will let us have a lie-in in the morning

The days are rushing by so quickly that I barely seem to manage to keep up. Abi is now at playgroup 4 mornings a week, and is registered to start at school next September, Toby is a walking (running), talking giggle machine and life is a chaotic rush from one minute to the next. It’s fab

Happy 3rd birthday to my wonderful, beautiful Abi

As her birthday was on a Tuesday, Abi ended up with several little birthday celebrations with different family members. We’ve had big dinners, rainbow cakes,day at the zoo, hiking up hills and through woods to find the gruffalo and lots and lots of presents. She thoroughly enjoyed all of the attention and it’s going to take a bit of persuading to explain that she can’t have lots of birthdays every week

I was recently gifted a vintage Zenit TTL SLR camera by a good friend, and as often happens with me it has sparked a bit of an obsession.

Photobucket is becoming more awkward touse due to it’s file restrictions and downtime so I’m starting to use Flickr more and more.

I’ve made a seperate blog post over on blogspot about this but I wanted to share my flickr page over here so that family and friends aren’t missing out on our family photos.
