Every now and then, when Locke sends me his scripts for future comics, he’ll also send me a sketch of how he pictures the comic in his head. He always puts detailed descriptions in his comic scripts, but these sketches really help.

Of course, this sketch didn’t actually get to me until AFTER I had already drawn the comic. Oh well!

We’re halfway through the current story arc, which started with this comic, so I thought I’d point you to all of the previous story arcs that tie in with this one.

Ence falls to darkness, the Imp’s first appearance and the rise of Cenixerf, and where Cenixerf has been this whole time.

Space Fish Process

Not too long ago, Massive Pwnage reached comic number 200. I just thought I’d show a little of the process that went into making it.

For this one, I started with some basic sketches to figure out the character’s poses and general designs. After that, I did another sketch to clean it up a bit and start adding details. Then I started inking the characters and finally coloring and shading them, while adding background elements. Everything was done in Photoshop on like, a million different layers.

Have I mentioned that it’s story arc time? It’s gonna be a long one. But don’t worry, I foresee at least ONE anime punchline in there somewhere. Maybe.

How many years of bad luck do you get for breaking a creepy cat clock that a demon lives in?

I was going for sand and dust in the last panel, but it kind of looks more like liquid or hair. It works that way too I suppose.

The Imp’s humble beginnings. Looks different now, doesn’t he? All of my characters seem to progressively look different over time.

Nowadays Wiimotes come with sturdy straps and plastic jackets. I don’t use ‘em though.
