Master of Ambitions

Think Positive

2014-06-29T08:00:00.000-07:00

Have you ever thought of quitting? Wondering why everything that is happening seems against your dreams?
I am telling you, you are not alone.

Recently, I have attended a series of training for a financial institution. I need to learn other financial skills in order to become a better wisdom-giver to everyone.

During the training I met a very jolly guy. Let's just call him Frankie. At first, I can't understand why he is always making fun of every discussion (in a positive way). He makes everyone laugh (I'm serious during training but I can't stop laughing because of this guy).

I attended the fourth day of training at a different training site, in Alabang. when I entered the room, to my surprise I saw him. I sat beside him and immediately he started a conversation. When we had a lunch break, he asked if i want to eat with him, i said "oo naman" (yes ofcourse).

While we are having lunch, i brought out my interrogation skills. I asked him some questions. He told me that he is also a nurse like me. He has stopped practicing for some months now because of the bad working condition. He worked as a private nurse for a couple of weeks and decided to stop because his client punched him on the face.

He graduated on 2006, took the board exam on the same year but failed. He took the exam again the following year and luckily he passed. After that he worked as a volunteer nurse in a public hospital in their hometown in Misamis. He also tried working under RNHEALS, a government project employing nurses to their hometown.

After jumping from one hospital to another, he realized that there's still no improvement to his financial standing. He decided to try his luck in Manila. He was employed in a public Hospital in Tondo. When his contract expired he tried to apply in a call center company. He told me that they didn't accept him. I asked him why. He said while laughing, "mahirap pag may Bisayan accent!" I told him "Bisayas are fluent in English, maybe it's really not for you." After his application in the call center company, he decided to work as a private nurse where he resigned after three weeks when his client punched him.

I feel so bad for him. He is on the early 30's but until now he is financially lost. I can feel that he has so much dreams for his family but luck is really not on his favor. He is really hardworking and despite everything that happened to him, his motivation has kept him standing proud.

I asked him straight to the point, "what keeps you going?" His answer blew me away. He told me that "kung itutuloy ko lang ng itutuloy ang pagtakbo kahit anong mangyari, hindi natin alam, baka malapit na pala ako sa finish line." (if I will keep on running and running no matter what happens, we'll never know. I might be few steps away from the finish line.)

I know and I will pray that this guy will find his real success in life. We have to believe that someday, everything that is happening will be in line with our dreams. We just have to stay focused and we have to persevere no matter what happens.

Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.

Choosing The Real Game: The Game of Life

2012-09-17T08:38:00.002-07:00

Since I was 6 years old, playing computer games has been a part of my daily routine. I love to play video games especially when I'm with my older brother. From Nintendo Family Computer to Sega until the rise of the Playstation, we are a huge fan.

As I grow, technology evolves. Simple console games, one by one, becomes obsolete as online role playing game proliferates. My addiction suddenly shifted on this new form of game. Together with my friends, after class, we rush in our favorite net cafe, a place we call "paraiso" (paradise).

Until now, I can't get away with this addiction. I can't help but download apps to my phone I even buy them if I really like the game. I admit, games like Final Fantasy, Zenonia, Illusia and many others are so addicting. I know it's too lame but i have spent way too much time playing these. I spent almost two to three hours a day. Time that should have been spent for reading, writing and doing some other more productive stuff.

I always discipline myself. I will never play games again. And everytime I see or hear new phenomenal games like Angry Birds or Plants vs Zombies, I promise myself that I will never install them in my phone. But promises were really meant to be broken (sometimes lol). And once this evil spirit gets into my phone, there's no stopping it. When I'm done with my class at 5pm, I could just take my dinner then internalize and try to read and write some stuff. But how will you be able to concentrate if every minute, you hear the village people crying, looking for a hero to save the kingdom. Or some angry birds asking for your help to blast some pigs?

Some of my friends told me that they enjoy Farmville, Tetris, Temple Run and some other online games. "You know what I have million of dollars!" and I said "Really! Can you treat me for a dinner?" and she responded "Well, I hope it's real money". In that very moment, there was a sudden AHA! My superego has awakened and then, I realized something. I need to go back playing real games.

Maybe, we do not realize this. But everytime we do something, we play a game. Everytime we pursue our goals in life, our dreams, we play a game. It's what we call "the game of life".

If you are a student going to take an exam, instead of wasting your time playing games, why don't you open your book? Examination is a game. Your goal? Not to get 1,000,000 fake golds but to earn perfect score. Imagine you are beating other players record and it is vital that you get to the top no matter what. If you do this, reviewing for your exam will be more exciting isn't it? Wanting a promotion? Treat your job as if you're playing Farmville wherein you need to upgrade yourself every now and then so everyone gets to notice you.

It may sound awkward at first but the benefit? 100% satisfaction guaranteed! Try to practice this and do some MONSTER KILL or be DOMINATING in real life.

Willing Willie Continues to Fulfill Ambitions

2010-12-08T21:04:00.000-08:00

Willing Willie is a primetime variety gameshow in the Philippines broadcast by TV5. It premiered on October 23, 2010 with its main host Willie Revillame who also produced the show.

Almost less than two months in the air but the show has already gained a high spot on the primetime TV ratings that was previously rivaled by GMA and ABS only. The show was able to secure a very strong foundation. Willie Revillame, being a very great endorser managed to bring with him most of his endorsements when he was in his previous station.

I really don't know what really makes a Willie Revillame. He possesses a charismatic type of leadership and power. He has strong and appealing words and above all, he has the passion of helping people.

Maybe if some people were on his shoes, after resigning at ABS they might have focused their wealth on business to procure more money. But Willie tried to find a way to reach the people. He wants to put a smile on everyone may he be rich or poor. I might be his believer when he was at ABS but now, after seeing what he has tried to do, I admire him.

Talking about the show, it features lots of new, simple yet funny and definitely hit games. I really like the Family Apir, we even tried it on my sister's 18th birthday. The show also features Shoot mo Baby, Wall of Fortune, Wiltime Bigtime, Spin a Wil and so much more.

Above all, the show is able to fulfill the ambitions of people from different walks of life. Last night the, A binggo announcer, Apet won the second mega jackpot of 1 million peso, house and lot and a brand new car. "Wow! Sobrang bigtime ng Willing Willie, kakainggit!" I said. But atleast the show was able to inspire many Filipinos and they definitely has changed the viewing habits, from a drama night to a fun-filled night.

I really hope the show continues to be an inspiration to all Filipinos. Everyone might not be winning the cash, but the inspiration and joy the show gives is worth more than a million cash!

Cause I really really want to join the games here, I'm giving this show 10 out of 10 AMBITION POINTS!!!

Nokia C3: Easy Messaging and Web Connection at an Affordable Price

2010-12-05T21:36:00.000-08:00

If you are looking for a full QWERTY phone with decent camera and wi-fi connection at a very affordable price, well, the Nokia C3 might be the best for you.

When it was launched, I was kinda not impressed by this phone because it has no 3G, has only a 2mp camera and it runs under an old platform; the Symbian 40. But when the price of the phone was announced (around 5,500 - 7500) well, I might consider it since it's very affordable and you won't be able to get a great deal for that money. So I searched for the phone to personally experience its features.

What I noticed with the phone is it's very solid look. It might feel heavy but as compared to its size, it's totally fine. It's very easy to grip and has a very sleek design. It is very slim which will give you the feeling that the phone is somewhat expensive than other qwerty phones.

It offers a 2mp camera but sad to say that it has a fixed focus and no flash either. But if you're just looking for a camera where you can share your pictures right away, you might want to have this. the video recording is not really good; only QVGA@20fps.

It has a 2.4" screen with the 320x240 resolution and the image looks bright and clear.

When it come to audio, it has a decent quality but somewhat low. It has an FM radio with RDS.

I can say that the phone is for the young especially if your second home is Facebook or Twitter because it might not have a 3G connection but it has a Wi-Fi connectivity that is ready to back you up.

All in all, the phone might not offer the best feature, but for a very affordable price, you are getting the most out of your money.

I'm giving this phone 7 out of 10 AMBITION POINTS!

Batanes: An Isolated Paradise

2010-09-21T22:26:00.000-07:00

If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful and a wonder of nature place to enjoy your vacation, Batanes is surely a must place to visit.

Ever since I was in high school I always dream of getting to Batanes. I heard and read lots of great stories about this place. Simple living, nice people, great environment and lots of beautiful sceneries, a perfect escape from the busy urban living.

The Province of Batanes is the smallest province in the Philippines both in land area and population. It is located at the northernmost part of the country. It is composed of ten islands and only four are inhabited.

The natives of Batanes are called Ivatans. Farming and fishing is the main source of living. Ivatans have a very simple way of living. According to a documentary from Jessica Soho, most of them use bicycle going to work or school.

I also want to see the "Honesty Coffee Shop" wherein people will just go inside the store and pick whatever goods they want and just put the payment in a box. No one looks after the shop, the owner will just drop by to replenish the items in the store and to check how much she has earned for the day, solely relying on the honesty of every customers.

Aside from the traditions and values of the people, Batanes is very famous for its precious sceneries. A great place to lay back and relax but i think it won't be possible because you will surely enjoy and explore the place.

So if only I have the money and time, I'll definitely check out this place!!! It's one of my dreams!!!

This is definitely a must place to visit that's why I'm giving this 8 out of 10 AMBITION POINTS!!!

Things You Should Not Reveal In Facebook

2010-09-16T20:52:00.000-07:00

Recently, I had a problem with people who creates Facebook account under someone else's name, meaning a fake profile. They try to steal your identity and gives you a very unpleasant image.

Suddenly while I was browsing the web, I read an article on how to secure yourself against identity theft. Here's the article from Yahoo Finance that you should read before divulging your information on the web.

"The whole social networking phenomenon has millions of Americans sharing their photos, favorite songs and details about their class reunions on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and dozens of similar sites. But there are a handful of personal details that you should never say if you don't want criminals — cyber or otherwise — to rob you blind, according to Beth Givens, executive director of the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse."

"The folks at Insure.com also say that ill-advised Facebook postings increasingly can get your insurance cancelled or cause you to pay dramatically more for everything from auto to life insurance coverage. By now almost everybody knows that those drunken party photos could cost you a job, too."

"You can certainly enjoy networking and sharing photos, but you should know that sharing some information puts you at risk. What should you never say on Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking site?"

Your Birth Date and Place

Sure, you can say what day you were born, but if you provide the year and where you were born too, you've just given identity thieves a key to stealing your financial life, said Givens. A study done by Carnegie Mellon showed that a date and place of birth could be used to predict most — and sometimes all — of the numbers in your Social Security number, she said.

Vacation Plans

There may be a better way to say "Rob me, please" than posting something along the lines of: "Count-down to Maui! Two days and Ritz Carlton, here we come!" on Twitter. But it's hard to think of one. Post the photos on Facebook when you return, if you like. But don't invite criminals in by telling them specifically when you'll be gone.

Home Address

Do I have to elaborate? A study recently released by the Ponemon Institute found that users of Social Media sites were at greater risk of physical and identity theft because of the information they were sharing. Some 40% listed their home address on the sites; 65% didn't even attempt to block out strangers with privacy settings. And 60% said they weren't confident that their "friends" were really just people they know.

Confessionals

You may hate your job; lie on your taxes; or be a recreational user of illicit drugs, but this is no place to confess. Employers commonly peruse social networking sites to determine who to hire — and, sometimes, who to fire. Need proof? In just the past few weeks, an emergency dispatcher was fired in Wisconsin for revealing drug use; a waitress got canned for complaining about customers and the Pittsburgh Pirate's mascot was dumped for bashing the team on Facebook. One study done last year estimated that 8% of companies fired someone for "misuse" of social media.

Password Clues

If you've got online accounts, you've probably answered a dozen different security questions, telling your bank or brokerage firm your Mom's maiden name; the church you were married in; or the name of your favorite song. Got that same stuff on the information page of your Facebook profile? You're giving crooks an easy way to guess your passwords.

Risky Behaviors

You take your classic Camaro out for street racing, soar above the hills in a hang glider, or smoke like a chimney? Insurers are increasingly turning to the web to figure out whether their applicants and customers are putting their lives or property at risk, according to Insure.com. So far, there's no efficient way to collect the data, so cancellations and rate hikes are rare. But the technology is fast evolving, according to a paper written by Celent, a financial services research and consulting firm.

So guys, think twice before filling up information on the web.

The Touch of A Painter

2010-08-16T15:09:00.000-07:00

According to Picasso “Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot; others transform a yellow spot into the sun.” this quote best explains how Jun Impas, a well known painter puts life in all of his creations.

Last night, while I was watching the birthday episode of Mel Tiangco, I was so amazed with the portraits and landscapes I saw, all of which are creations of none other than Mr. Jun Impas. I'm not a critic when it comes to artworks but i can definitely say that his paintings were one of a kind.

I can see the depth of the paintings, it's as if you're looking into a 3D-image. It was the first time that I had goosebumps while staring at an incredible masterpiece.

He can definitely transform an ordinary image to an extraordinary artwork. And I told myself, I want to have my portrait done by him.

After watching that episode, I searched the web for some of his paintings and I was not disappointed when I got into his website, junimpas.com . I saw lots of great paintings in his site. Some of which are for sale, I wonder how much each costs?

Here are some of the artworks I've seen in his site:

Someday, I would like to have my portrait done by Mr. Jun Impas. That's why I'm giving this 8 out of 10 AMBITION POINTS

The Dream of a Single Charger for All Phones

2010-08-15T20:30:00.000-07:00

We've got different cellphones at the house. And when one needs to charge the phone, but forgets where the charger is, there's no way to borrow someone else's charger. I really hate this scenario, they're all phones yet they have different charger and sometimes, even phones of the same brand come with different charger.

I do understand that maybe, the reason behind this is because, cellphone companies needs to optimize charging of phones. But the problem is, you can't borrow charger to your siblings or neighbors during the time you badly needed one.

Luckily, while I was browsing the net, hopeful to get some news if there will be a single charger for all phones, I've ran to this article and read that this issue has been addressed already and cellphone companies are doing their part in creating a universal charger for all phones. Yeah it's a very great news, but the sad thing is, only the European country will have it first.

This is the article from wired.com

(Wired) -- Cellphone battery dead? No problem: Just borrow a charger from a friend. Oh, wait -- you can't, because your friend doesn't have the same phone as you, and his charger won't work with your phone.

That annoyance will end next year, for Europeans at least. Thanks to the efforts of the European Commission, most cellphones sold in Europe will have a one-size-fits-all charger starting in 2011. So far, 10 major cellphone makers, including Apple, Motorola, Samsung and Research In Motion, have signed on to the agreement.

Americans will have to wait. Without a government agency setting a deadline, it's up to handset makers to make the switch to a single standard. All consumers can do is let their old chargers gather dust in a drawer, while hoping manufacturers will eventually converge on a standardized charger.

"For the FCC, this is probably number 5,000 on their list and it is legislative priority number 10,000 at this point," says Joe Banos, chief operating officer for Wilson Electronics, which makes cellphone boosters and antennas. "We believe the U.S. will ultimately follow Europe here, but the question is when."

Today each cellphone ships with its own charger. Different companies use different connectors -- and often different models from the same company do too, making it difficult for users to borrow a charger. And when it's time to toss the phone, the charger also goes into the bin.

A universal charger means consumers don't have to get a new charger with every mobile phone. As a bonus, it'll be easier to borrow a charger when in need.

And if all that isn't enough, there's the green aspect. One-size-fits-all means fewer chargers will wind up in the landfill, less electronic waste, and fewer resources consumed in manufacturing chargers.

In 2009, the European Commission said it reached a voluntary agreement with handset manufacturers to use the micro-USB connector for the charger. Starting in 2011, all phone models sold in Europe would then have compatible chargers. Now, that agreement is taking effect.

Changing the rules in the U.S.

Smartphone makers in the United States are moving toward something similar, but more slowly. Motorola and Samsung have said they will offer a standard charger here but haven't committed to a deadline. It's a complex game where each handset maker is optimizing for itself, but collectively those decisions might help realize the goal of having a universal charger, probably centered on micro-USB.

"For the most part it is already happening here with smartphones," says Michael Gartenberg, an analyst at the Altimeter Group. "An HTC Evo charger will charge a Nexus One or Incredible, as long as it has a micro-USB connector."

The major holdouts in the U.S. are Apple and Research In Motion. Apple uses a proprietary 30-pin connector for its iPhone, while many BlackBerry chargers and devices are engineered so they will work only when paired together, says Wilson's Banos.

But even among companies that use micro-USB, it's still not a standard.

"There's the flat, wide mini-USB connector; the short, squat micro-USB; and different versions in between," says Allen Nogee, an analyst at In-Stat research. "They are all still using different versions of the USB connector."

But if you can get a connector to fit into the phone, it doesn't matter which model it is for or which company made it, because all USB-based chargers deliver the same voltage, say experts.

The push to change the situation in the U.S. could come from accessories makers for smartphones, says Nogee. Today, when you buy a new battery pack or car charging kit, it comes with a little bag stuffed with connectors so users can pick the right ones for their phones.

"It is much more expensive for these companies to support different phones and connectors," says Nogee. "But the problem is that so far, accessories makers haven't had enough say in the phone manufacturing process."

Ultimately, economics will force handset makers in the U.S. to change, say industry experts. As companies move to a universal charger in Europe, they will bring the same connectors to U.S. models.

It's not clear how Apple will make the change, but it is certain that if the company moves to a micro USB-based connector for its new iPhone model in Europe, U.S. customers can expect the same.

"It makes so much sense that I believe the U.S. will follow," says Banos. "It would be insane not to"

end of the article.

I hope we can also have this agreement in the Philippines, besides, we have a lot of cellphone users here.

Since I really love to have a Universal Charger, and I think most cellphone users will agree to this, I give this dream 9 out 10 AMBITION POINTS

Samsung Champ, Touchscreen Phone at an Affordable Price

2010-08-08T02:32:00.000-07:00

I was walking at SM North Edsa yesterday when I run into a Samsung booth. Had a glimpse of their new touchscreen phones.

When it comes to cellphones, I'm only eying to Sony Ericson, but when I saw the new Samsung phones, I kinda enjoyed browsing them and spent almost 30 minutes looking and comparing phones.

When I got home, I browsed their site and surprised that they offer a cheap touchscreen phone, the Samsung Champ.

The champ was designed for people who want to go touchscreen but don't want to put a stress in their pockets.

It has a 2.4” full touch display and a 3x3 widget format. The Samsung Champ also features TouchWiz Lite, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headset jack, access to Samsung Apps, 1.3MP camera and MicroSD card support.

The price of the phone based on some stores I visited ranges from P4,800.00 to P6,000.00. What a great deal.

I give this phone 6 out of 10 AMBITION POINTS!!!

Here are some pictures of the phone and it's features.

A Doughnut Freakout

2010-07-26T19:00:00.000-07:00

I love doughnuts may it be Mister Donut, Dunkin' Donut, Krispy Kreme's Chocolate Iced Custard or Cello's Peanut Butter Oreo. I like them all.

Last time while I was going home, I bought some doughnuts for my nephew. He loves chocolate flavored doughnuts. So I went to the nearest Dunkin' Donut store near the tricycle terminal where I'm heading. Since there were just few doughnuts left (and flavors were not my type) I asked for the munchkins. I purchased some Bavarian and Choco Honey Dipped Munchkins and the last piece of regular size Choco Honey Dipped. I put them in my bag and went home.

When I got home, my nephew ran towards me and asked if I have something for him so I took the doughnuts out of my bag and gave it to him. I told him to leave the Bavarian Munchkins in the plastic bag since he doesn't like them. When he was about to eat the Choco Honey Dipped he shouted "Langgam! Langgam! Tito Wel may Langgam ( those are ants) then he threw it away so I checked if that was for real and when I took the doughnut from the ground whoooowww!!! I saw RED ANTS coming out from the small holes on the doughnut.

I was disappointed and told my nephew that I'll just buy another doughnut tomorrow and he said that he doesn't want to eat doughnut anymore. I don't know what to say and some sort of anger and frustration filled me so I looked for Dunkin' Donut's number on the web.

I called their customer service to report the incident. What made me feel bad was that all of the support personnel who answered the phone just transfered me from one person to another. Until I got the chance to talk with the right person. I told her the problem, she felt sorry for the incident and asked me for some information so that she can trace the exact store location and promised me to call back after tracing the store.

After a while, she called me and told me that they're really sorry for the incident and asked me my address so they can have someone deliver some doughnuts at my house as a payment for the inconveniences it has caused me. I told them that it's okay, no need to deliver something but she insisted that they're going to deliver some doughnuts at my house so I said it's okay, go ahead. But until now I haven't received any doughnut from them hehehehehe... But that's fine coz I'm not after it.I'm just informing them of the incident so that it might not happen again with other customer's coz I consider myself a regular customer and I felt bad that I encountered that problem.

I'm not really mad, I'm just frustrated and the reason why I called was because I just want to inform them with the problem so that the same problem won't happen again with other customers or probably to me again. I understand that what happened to me was just an isolated case and Dunkin Donut is a respected industry when it comes to doughnuts. They won't be here for more than a decade if their doughnutss are not good.

A Start of A New Life

2010-07-21T03:11:00.000-07:00

According to Flora Whittmore, "The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live."

As a day ends, we are closing a chapter in our life to get ready to fill the following pages of my stiry book of my next adventures.

It's really frustrating if we see that what we have left behind should have been the path we have taken. Well we can do nothing about it. We just have to face what lies ahead and make sure that our next steps would be something worth continuing.

I'm done with my college as a nursing student. Just took the board exams, and now still waiting for the result. But every single day, I can't help myself asking if I really made the right decision to continue, but ofcourse it's permanent so I can do nothing about it. And since I'm done with the board exam, what's bugging my mind now is what will happen next? Should I study again? Should I pursue my nursing career? or should I look for another job that fits me well? Well I'm still trying to figure out the answer.

I told myself that if i make it good at the boards well, I should probably proceed with my nursing career since even if I don't like it, I never really had a hard time with it unlike other nursing students. However, if I am not of enough luck and does not make it to a nice grade or even fail the exam, I really have to look for other nice job that gives a well compensation or, I should even study again on any computer related course since it's my passion.

I'm not gettin' any younger so I really have to make quick decisions. Obviously, I'm quite not sure with what lies ahead. All I know is that I'm having a new life, I'm starting to write the story of my life on the following pages of my story book.

"Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude towards us" that is according to John Mitchell.Well, I'm the master of ambitions. I won't get tired dreaming of great wealth, power and everything. I'll always be positive and my desire to help my love ones my friends and other people will continue no matter what happens. I'll choose the right path, I'll close my door at the right time and I'll enter a new one with full caution.

I'm back

I've been busy for like six months preparing for the last phase of my nursing student life. Now, that the board exam is over, I can keep this blog updated again.....

A Christmas Project

2009-12-24T05:04:00.000-08:00

Christmas as they say is the time for sharing and giving in any way that you can.

Since childhood, we look forward of this day. My siblings and I make sure that before the sunset of the 24th of December, all things are packed. Our clothes, toys and other stuffs coz we are preparing to celebrate Christmas at my Granny's house together with some of our relatives.

Not until four years ago when we stop visiting the place because of different changes in the lives and some other problems. We seldom celebrate Christmas instead we make busy of ourselves and look forward of the New Year's Eve in our house together with relatives.

But now, because of the blessings we are getting this year, my Big Bro decided to offer something to those who are really in need. We prepared a small meal for them. My big Bro financed everything, My Mom and Dad focused on cooking, my siblings, cousin and my uncle do the repacking and I hahahhaha ofcourse assigned myself to everything hahahahah (just kiddin).

We started the journey at Novaliches going to C5, Mindanao Ave. until North Ave. after that we went North to Muñoz, balintawak, Monumento thru Mc Arthur hi-way to Valenzuela until Bocaue, Bulacan.

my beautiful sister with their equally handsome Bro!

We all wore a red shirt match with our car hahaha...

During our stops, I can't help having my eyes a lil' bit teary, especially when I hear the words "salamat sa inyo!, Merry Christmas, Thank you po, ang bait ninyo, salamat iho" and so many other words expressing how thankful they are.

cute little kid waving goodbye!

carolers at night...

we feel really elated seeing those smiles at their faces

My brother remembered those years when we were little kids, waiting for our presents, our aguinaldo and he boasted that he's the one who always get a lot of money among us during Christmas. And it was really nice reminiscing those days.

It's great touching the lives of those people, hoping that if we touch even hundred of lives a day and those people whom we touched lives did the same, we won't be experiencing hunger, hatred, fear and agony and instead love and sharing will outpour in this world.

I'm hoping everyone will do their part not only during the holidays but all throughout our lives. Even a single word can deeply touch a heart.

My Christmas Wishlist

2009-12-08T11:06:00.000-08:00

We really can't deny, Christmas is just around the corner. I can feel the cold breeze, I can see lights of different colors and I can hear children of different ages singing the Christmas songs.

And since it's the time to ask Santa Claus for a gift, I might as well ask for my own and write a wishlist.... hahahhaha

So Santa, h

ere's Five of my top wants....

5.Nokia N97

Although Camera is still at 5mp. It's not bad since it's very user friendly and i hear less negative comments with this phone... It can make me keep

going...

4. Apple MacBook Pro Summer 2009

Using a laptop will definitely be a great time with this one. It's as if you're having a desktop in hand. With it.s 2.26 Intel COre 2 DUo processor and 2 gb dual core processor (just don't know if expandable) you won't go wrong!!! You just have to pa

y at least 60,000Php

3. Sony Cybershot DSC-HX1

Since I love taking photos, Sony Cyber

shot DX-HX1 will be a great gift this holiday Season for me.... It's 9mp with 20x Optical Zoom is enough to capture precious moments. You can also record at 1080p HD movie recording if you want!

2.PSP 3000

Even if GO is just around the corner, I still prefer 3000. Why, because i hate making objects go smaller but then the functionality is compromised. GO is really having some issues with it's functionality and being user friendly... So i'll stick with 3000.

1. Ipod Touch

Since I really love listening to music, watching video and playing some games. Ipod Touch can also be a best gift this Christmas.

Survivor Philippines: Final Five Revealed

2009-10-31T05:15:00.000-07:00

It was so bad I wasn't able to watch the elimination night last Friday wherein Shaun was voted out. But as I heard it from my friends, the tribal council was really hot and great last Friday!

and the night cut the castaways to the final five:

Zuki was Voted Out!

2009-10-25T04:26:00.001-07:00

Suzuki was voted off the last tribal council. That was the most strategic and mind puzzling council of all.

Before the tribal council, Shaun heard the plan that he will be voted off so he immediately old the plan to his boys alliance. Since Suzuki was holding the secret immunity bracelet, he gave it to Shaun not knowing that his action made him vulnerable and would lead to his end.

When Charles knew that the bracelet was given off to Shaun, he immediately talked with Jeff and told her that Shaun is a traitor he's just using Suzuki. Mika and Jeff told him to calm down and just set himself for any outcome of the tribal council.

Afterwards, Suzuki told Shaun that the girls will vote him off. Shaun told him that they won't and it's just that Charles was making everything difficult because he's always shifting sides. Shaun told him that the girls will go for Justine on the council just to assure Suzuki that he won't be voted out.

Before the start of the Council, Jeff and Justine was able to come up with their last minute plan, they decided to vote against Shaun even if he's holding the immunity bracelet. Jeff also realized that Mika has other plan and maybe she's just using her.

During the council, Paolo asked all of the castaways aside from Mika to get out for an activity. He interviewed the castaways one by one so that they're free to tell everything without the fear of the other members striking back.

Then the official voting follows, before Paolo tallied the results, he asked them whether anyone has found the hidden immunity and is planning to surrender and use it. Shaun used the immunity bracelet meaning all of the votes casted against him will not be counted. When the tallying of votes ended, Shaun got three but because of the bracelet they were not counted, Justine got two and Suzuki got two votes.

Because of a tie, they were asked to vote again except Justine and Suzuki. When the votes were tallied, Justine got two (from Shaun and Charles) and Suzuki got three (from all the girls) and that made him the 4th member of the Jury.

Before Zuki left the council, he was given the chance to give a red pearl which will give an additional two votes against that person on the next council. Zuki gave it to Mika and he made his last farewell.

He was in tears while bursting out his final words.

"Shaun and Charles kaya niyo yan tapos na ang survivor para sa akin" and "Lola wala na po, miss na miss na kita" he said.

Getting Ready for the Last Phase

2009-10-25T03:50:00.000-07:00

Getting ready for the march, waiting for the diploma, and concentrating for tons of examinations. Those are the usual thoughts of a graduating nursing student.

It's just this day that I have realized that I'm now entering the last phase of my nursing student life. And if not really for the final exam last semester and the orientation for the coming sem that I won't be able to realize how i took everything for granted and took easy on things. Maybe those were just wake up calls for me to start accepting the fact that I have no other choice but to continue with the field I entered.

I should really prepare myself for the intensive phase, my final shot and my saving punch. I really don't know how will I push myself. Yeah I still haven't reach my limit but I really don't have any idea how to reach it and I don't have the drive either.

But still, I'm hoping that I will savor the success of my four years of struggle without any delays.

Final Exams

2009-10-20T02:16:00.000-07:00

Tomorrow will be the start of our final examinations. It will be tough I think since we've had a lot to cover. Medical Surgical, Pediatric, Communicable Disease and Psychiatric Nursing.

Until now, I wasn't able to finish most of the topics. I don't know how will I survive tomorrow but I've got my confidence to back me up if my pool of stock knowledge won't be able to help me out.

Medical Surgical exam i think will be the toughest, I've got to master ECG tracing which seems to be hard. CPR ohh, don't have to read it again, I know enough about it hehehhe....

After these exams, I have to deal with my hospital duties, it will be the last semester for my nursing internship. Hope everything goes well tomorrow even if I won't be able to study everything.

I've Got Burned

2009-10-18T05:30:00.000-07:00

I really don't have any talent in cooking and I really hate the part when you have to fry something and noticed that it's becoming overcooked, smell bad and annoying smoke comes out, all signs of overcooking. Usually when this event happens I really don't know what to do and just try to turn the food on the other side. But every time, odd thing happens.

This time, the pork popped. It was a deep fry so the very hot oil just burned my right hand and mostly between my ring and pinky. As a nurse instinct, I just get a cold water and let it run through the burns so the pain would be relieved and swelling be prevented.

After that, I just stopped that damn cooking! I really admit that I don't have any talent when it comes to food. All I know is how to eat. So I think it would be better of that way. hahahha.... Just leave that damn cooking to my parents hahhaha....

Because of this incident, I have some first aid advice for burns.

First thing is you just have to distinguish what type of burn you've gotten. Is it minor or serious one. Minor burn is classified into two, the first degree and the second degree:

First degree burn is the least serious burn which usually includes outer layer of the skin. The area usually becomes reddish and sometimes swelling may occur.

Second degree burn affects the outer layer of the skin down to the second layer or the dermis. Blisters may develop and the area becomes extremely red. Severe pain can be felt. Minor burns usually have an area of not less than 3 inches if more than 3 inches consider it a major burn and get yourself to a physician for treatment.

For treatment with minor burns:

First, you have to cool the area. Flush the area with cool water for at least 3-5 minutes. There are some beliefs that flushing the burn with water may cause swelling. Well, swelling is a natural process especially if it is a second degree burn.

You have to flush it with cold water to decrease the pain and prevent further swelling.

Next is you have to put a sterile gauze at the top of the burned area, this will prevent exposure to bacteria and prevents infection.

If the pain is still present, you may use over the counter analgesics.

Minor burns majority will heal itself but it may leave pigmentations on the skin. If infection occurs, you have to seek medical advice.

For third degree burns, usually they are painless. It involves the fats, muscles and even the bones. If this happens, always check the safety of the patient, check if the person is having difficulty of breathing cause he may be exposed to smoke from fire. After securing the person, you have to seek medical attention immediately.

Hope these could be a great help.

SM Megamall Three Day Sale

2009-10-17T22:34:00.000-07:00

My friends and I planned to go to SM Megamall yesterday and then we knew that they were having a 3 day sale that started last friday.

Since there's a sale, we took advantage of the opportunity to get great discounts for some clothes and pants. It's like looking for needles in the haystack cause on sale items don't look great so we really have to look for all places.

I found a clothe at BUM and i got 10 percent off. Then, since I'm hopeless looking for an on sale denim which looks great, I just bought two denims from Penshoppe, a checkered and a maong pants.

It was so tiring walking and looking for great items while struggling with the crowd. so we just decided to eat and take some frapuccino.

That mall wide sale was great it's just that there's too many people for you to enjoy. Hehehe

Anyways, the SM mall wide sale is until today. So you still have the chance to get great offers to save extra money for the holidays...
