The Box Kitchen offers an excellent alternative to a custom kitchen by providing the look but at a very competitive price. The company provides smartly designed kitchen components, with high quality hardware, excellent craftsmanship and a choice of colored laminates and/or rich wood veneers. Their product is made up of modular boxes that have been carefully sized for appliances, pots and pans, flatware, dishes, baking ware and more.

They provide a Box Guide with a list of all the component sizes and color charts of all the materials including the countertop. Then after laying out the kitchen and selecting the components along with the materials and color choices the company will do the rest. The cabinetry will be shipped fully assembled and carefully wrapped along with an installation manual and all the hardware necessary to complete the installation; it will be separately wrapped and labeled. The company does offer customization, design services, installation and other materials on request.

According to Formica its new 180fx collection of laminates is closing the gap between real and faux.There are five natural-stone designs featuring featuring a premium-level, softly polished Etchings finish and highlights from tiny fissures similar to that found in granite and stone. The product captures the true scale and visual drama of a full granite slab by recreating its sweep of striking colorations and veining.

In addition the new edge treatments add to the material’s realism by eliminating the black lines and are suitable for curved, clipped or 90-degree corner installations. There are 21 realistic patterns and colors available in the collection.

Cambria has launched two new designs, Laneshaw (right) and Armitage (left), which capture the natural veining of marble and granite while offering the strength of quartz. Both materials continue the company’s tradition of being named after a location in Wales or England. Like the centuries-old village in northwest England, Laneshaw embraces brown tones, tan and black with subtle hints of white and a touch of gold shimmer. Armitage, named after a canal in England’s West Midlands region, blends black and gray, providing a neutral canvas for random flecks of copper and orange.

New Glass Mosaic Tile from Stone & Pewter Accents

Agate is a new state-of-the-art glass mosaic tile collection from Stone & Pewter Accents. The series is similar in appearance to natural layered silica volcanic stone formations. The tiles are produced in a similar process by hand-pouring molten silica in a multi-stream of combined transparent and opaque glass with an iridescent surface.

The process results in unique variations and variegations with bursts of color that actually change based on the way light strikes each tile’s surface. Agate is offered in two finishes, iridescent Pearl and matte Silk and is available in 14 colors, including naturally occurring blue and green tones. The collection includes the new “Martini” hexagonal shape which is pictured.

LED Wallpaper Decoration + Lighting from Ingo Mauer

The LED Wallpaper from Ingo Mauer was selected in January as “Best of Best” among the winners of the Interior Innovation Awards in Germany. The wallpaper comes in lengths of five repeating patterns each measuring 126”L x 23-1/2”W. The repeats are 23-1/2” x 25”, with a combination of 168 white, blue and red LEDs in each pattern for a total of 840 LEDs in one length that corresponds to approximately 60 watts. Included in each set is a ballast and an aluminum baseboard. The wallpaper which is produced by Architects Paper, Germany is available in Green and White. Delivery time and custom-made versions starting with 15 rolls are available on request.

Developed by Wood Haven Inc the Rainscreen Clip is the ultimate solution in hidden siding fasteners. The company is a specialty lumber distributor and manufacturer in the heart of the Midwest that was utilizing hidden fasteners to install hardwood decking. Although the customers liked the hidden aspect of the plastic fasteners they were cumbersome resulting in slow installation times and pricy.

Several years later at the request of an architect looking for a fastening system to install hardwood siding in a rainscreen style the company developed the Rainscreen clip. The system can be used to install a variety of woods easily all with a clean and modern look.

MonoLight, Iilluminates & Magnifies from Lanzavecchia + Wai

The MonoLight is the result of a creative collaboration between Francesca Lanzavecchia and Hunn Wai. The attractive table lamp was specifically designed for deteriorating eyesight which comes as we age and/or from long hours in front of a computer screen.

It is made with a magnifying screen and LED components housed in an aluminum frame, anchored to a marble base that enables various degrees of viewing angles. The lamp comes in both a portrait and landscape model to accommodate the reader’s preference for viewing.

Anisha LED Lamp from Foscarini

This innovative table lamp was designed by the Spanish studio Lievore Altherr Molina for Foscarini and is one of their first fixtures to use only LED lamping. The ellipsoidal lamp is made of rigid thermoplastic, features an integrated touch dimmer switch, is available in white and red and in two sizes. The larger one is 18-1/8” high by 13” wide and the smaller one is 12-5/8” high by 9-1/16” wide, both are 2” deep. This stunning lamp would be a perfect accent when on or off in any number of residential or commercial environments.
