Linear Relations

You will be using smartboard "notebook" for this exercise.

You have seen an example of Taxi fares in Vancouver and Montreal. Your task is to search on the internet for fares of a city/province/country of your choice. Once you have found your fares you need to do the following.

1. State the city/country/province and the fare they charge.
2. Make a table of values for 0km,2km,5km and 10km.
3. Make a graph (I'll show you how to get one from the "Gallery") of your situation. Make sure you label all axes and put a title. Use font size 18 or higher so it is easier to read on the blog
4. Complete the following. "The rate of change is ______________."
5. "Export" as an "image" file and in the format box choose JPEG file.
6. Post on your blog.

Today we went over our quiz ,we corrected the homework from last night,we worked in our math books,and we worked on algebra applications.

EX: x(3x+5)+2(3x+5)=(x+5)(x-1)+(2x+1)(x+3)+12

well we did some dividing polynomials sumtimes i can be way off on these things but i come around...its pretty hard but this is an easy one....

Today in class we started off with some problems with multiplying binomials, it was kind of easy....
here is an example!

(3x+5)(2x-3)
=6x^2-9x+10x-15
= 6x^2+-15

Do you think you could do this? try a problem on your own... good luck! Just to tell you algebras is pretty hard!!

Today our class worked Substitution we first started with easy ones then we started with some like this...
A= 3x+4
B=2x-5
C=4x+1
(A+B)(B-C)
(3x+4+(2x-5)) (2x-5-(4x+1))
=(3x+4+2x-5) (2x-5-4x-1)
= (5x-1) (-2x-6)
= -10x^2-30x+2x+6
= -10^2-28x+6
algebras can be very tricky so this is what we did today in our math class.

Today in Math we got our test back went over to qustions and then we did some workin in our texts book like:

4a+2a=6a
we are learning fractions like:
3/4xsquared-2/3xsquared

And this is my Equation

3x+10=x+6
3x+10-10=x+6-10
3x-x=x-x-4
2x/2=-4/4
x=2

today in class we had a small quiz on solving for 'X'.
it was only for qustions but i only understood two of the.
we also reveiwed solving for x and did some notos on inequalities..
theres alot of things that i dont understand about solving for x but i think that with some help i'll start to understand more about it, same with my class mates.

-2x-18=6+4x
-2x-18+18=6-18+4x
-2x=-12+4x
-2x-4x=-12+4x-4x
-6x= -12
x= -12/-6
