Update via Rob Wentz the developer in the comments below: "Just wanted to follow up here that monstrumWaveXT is currently a stand-alone editor, VST/AU functionality has been "downgraded" to "beta" status.

This is all because I restructured things so now monstrumWaveXT does not require any ctrlr install to work. There is a monstrumWaveXT application file for the stand-alone editor (which now has full wavetable and waveform editing and arrangement ability!) and there is a beta VST for os x and one for Windows. Development is ongoing and I'm getting a lot of great feedback from users, so the "beta" should be lifted from the name in due time.

Also on a similar note I recently released an editor -monstrumWave1 for the original Waldorf Microwave. It has all of the features monstrumWaveXT has in terms of parameter AND waveform/wavetable editing capabilities."

Just an overview, this can be run in standalone mode or as a vst inside your favorite DAW.. so you basically can use the panel like you would any VST synth emulator, except the sound engine is the actual piece of gear. TONS of features here, lots of things you can't do with the synth alone, and added GUI enhancements for easy parameter settings and visual ques.

Key Features:
Wave and Free envelopes can be edited as an actual envelope plotted on an x-y grid. time/level parameters can be set simultaneously by moving a single point on the envelope. Loop Key on and Loop Key Off are also nicely visualized on the envelope, if enabled.

Arpeggiator editor! - select any preset arp pattern and send it to a user pattern where you can edit the pattern to your liking. Red LEDs indicate preset pattern, Blue LEDs indicate user pattern.

Context sensitive knobs/dropdowns for things like Wave startwave, OSC pitchbend range, LFO delay, filter 1 extra, effects.

Pitch sliders for both Oscillators
Building off the Osc Link and Wave Link on the original synth which links modulation, you can also link parameter changes, or you can link both parameters and modulations, so adjust osc1 semitone/octave/etc, osc2 follows.

Besides all this functionality, the general consensus is that this thing just looks bad ass.

Additional notes:
When you change programs on the panel the panel sends a note off command and a program request, then sends a dump request to the synth, so all knobs/sliders/etc even the program name update on the panel to match the synth program's name and parameters.
Built in software program manager gives you the ability to save backups of your favorite programs to the panel for later use.

Ability to Load sysex/midi files from panel to the synth.

I've had a 2.x version of this panel available for free for the past year which has been downloaded several thousand times before removing the link from sourceforge this weekend when I launched the new demo.

Using monstrumWave
Either Open ctrlr in standalone mode (recommended) or open your favorite DAW, then load a ctrlr vst instance.

In vst mode, you must enter the panel properties (red "HAL" icon in tool bar or right click>panel properties) and adjust the MIDI settings properly.
Recommended settings: enable "Accept MIDI from Host", "MIDI Input goes to Comparator" and "Output MIDI to Host".

Set the MIDI I/O Devices appropriately. MIDI Devices are selected in the toolbar at the top. Leftmost selection box is the Input Device and channel. Output Device and channel is set to the right.

You should be able to take off running from here if you have things set right.

If you are not familiar with ctrlr, I recomend spending some time looking through the forums at www.ctrlr.org to get a feel for things.

"I am selling a sequential P3 sequencer designed and built by Colin Fraiser. This is one of around 200 that were built as production units. Many of these were built as kits and don't have the build quality that this one has. Worried about solar flares? This unit sports a heavy duty metal case with rack ears. I also have the wooden sides if you you are going for the retro look over the industrial. The LCD is new, original units had a green LCD that burned out. This P3 also has the MEMX expansion but the unit has an older more stable OS. All of the information you need can be found on the sequentix website.

The P3 Sequencer is an 8 track, hardware MIDI sequencer, with a user interface comprised of knobs, keys and LEDs. A sixteen character by two line PLED display provides confirmation of pattern data and access to advanced features and configuration options.

P3 allows real-time control of track mutes and simple pattern or pattern chain selection across multiple tracks, plus analogue-style editing of patterns. Each of its 384 patterns has independent values for note, velocity, tie, gate, length, gate delay, and a combination of up to four MIDI controllers, extra notes, or 'auxiliary events', per step.

P3's unique auxiliary events allow the creation of dynamically self-modifying patterns. They can grab values from other tracks, randomise steps, alter track and global settings, and much more. There are three modulation 'accumulators' per track, that can be used as LFOs, perform arpeggiation effects or enable complex pattern progressions. Furthermore, you can assign front panel knobs to modify or mask these events in real-time, allowing you to create interactive patterns that change predictably as you adjust the knobs - varying in complexity, controlling levels of randomness, even 'morphing' from one pattern to another.

A Force-to-scale option provides preset and user-defined scales to keep everything in key (but defeat-able per pattern step if required), and a configurable 'change mode' allows patterns with different lengths and/or time-bases to free-run, or be synced to a global bar.

P3 has a user configurable memory organisation that allows 3 banks of 16, 6 banks of 8, or 12 banks of 4 sixteen step patterns per track (a total of 384 patterns). Pattern length can be set from 1 to 16 steps, and multiple patterns can be chained in 'playlists' of up to 8 stages, with up to 8 repeats per stage. RAM is battery backed, and can be dumped and loaded via sysex. Each track can output on a selectable MIDI channel, or multiple tracks can be assigned to the same channel.

There are three modes of operation - play, playlist edit and pattern edit. Mode changes are allowed while the sequencer is running. In fact, the only time you need to stop P3 is for a sysex dump or firmware upgrade.

In play mode, tracks can be muted and unmuted, and 'parts' can be selected individually or in chains. Parts are used to store pattern selections (playlists) for each track, and other settings such as global transpose and force-to-scale settings.

playlist edit mode is used to select the pattern, or sequence of patterns, that will play on each track - including options for individual pattern transpose and a 'global bar' system that can keep varying length patterns running in step.

pattern edit mode is where patterns can be created and modified using the 16 step keys, and 32 knobs. The key function can be rotated between gate, tie (which can control a TB303 style auto-slide), skip and Xd (transpose defeat). The tri-colour LEDs show the current state at each step for the selected function. Pattern length can be set using a soft function key, and various other features such as pattern rotate, copy & paste, randomisation, and data 'sculpting' are present. The lower knobs are dedicated to note selection. The upper knobs can be switched between velocity, gate length, step delay and the four auxiliary functions. The auxiliaries can be assigned per pattern to any combination of MIDI continuous controllers, or the auxiliary events.

There's also a real-time record feature, that allows you to quickly enter a pattern from a master keyboard, before making fine adjustments with the knobs. Or you can over-dub new note and velocity values from your keyboard, without affecting the existing pattern rhythm. With auxes assigned to play extra notes, you can make your pattern up to 5 note polyphonic, and real-time record will record polyphonic patterns straight from a MIDI keyboard. An arpeggio capture mode allows you to use P3 like an arpeggiator, with the ability to store arpeggios as normal patterns. Internal resolution is 48 ppqn, which allows fine-tuning of step delay to create the same shuffle effects as the TR909, but with the ability to apply a different shuffle value to each step.

The unit has MIDI in, four MIDI out (single bus) and sync connections. It can run as tempo master or sync to MIDI clock, and outputs DIN sync and clock-only MIDI from a dedicated SYNC output.

The P3 CPU supports firmware updates via MIDI SysEx, so frequent new features (and occasional bug fixes) are easily added - no nasty messing about with processor swaps, and posting chips back and forth !

Details of the sysex message format for firmware update can be found here. An excellent Windows utility (written by a keen P3 owner) for sysex pattern management and firmware update is available from the Downloads area. Alternatively, the .syx update files can be replayed using any sysex utility that supports raw sysex dump files. I highly recommend the excellent MIDIOx for this."

"The Mutator is a stereo analogue filter and envelope follower with full control facilities. It contains two independent voltage controlled filters similar to those found in analogue synthesizers, which can be used to treat any external sound source. Each filter can be controlled from its own associated low frequency oscillator (LFO) and/or its own envelope follower section, which extracts the envelope contour of an input signal and applies it to control the cut-off frequency of the filter.

Each envelope follower can be switched to track either the envelope of the sound that is being treated by the filter, or that of an independent external control signal. This external control signal can be any audio source , eg. a drum sound, a guitar, a synth, a sampler output, or even a microphone. Thus the envelope characteristics of one sound can be superimposed onto the filtering contour of another.

Another switch on the envelope follower selects envelope follow mode or gate mode - in which the circuit detects whether a signal is above a certain threshold level before switching on.

In gate mode, the device can operate much like a dedicated noise gate unit, with the added capabilities of the analogue filter

The LFO's have four different sweep waveforms each and may be switched via a stereo link to produce stereo panning effects."

RHAAAWWWGH! also features remix artists from three continents, | vo§uru | from Russia, What Is Lost, originally from Italy, now based in Berlin, and Todd Barton from the US. OPERATOR met | vo§uru | (who will be featured on the B side of the vinyl release) on soundcloud. After hearing some of his productions, OPERATOR approached him about a remix.

“It attests to the power of the internet to bring people together who would probably otherwise never cross paths,” OPERATOR says. He believes that having such disparate producers adds a great variety and uniqueness to the EP and hopes to work with them again.

The man behind OPERATOR, Joel Henigson, started playing music at age eight, starting on piano and guitar before moving into songwriting and computer production. In 2009, he graduated Suma Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors of Music in Songwriting. Over the years he has become entrenched in electronic music production and works as a producer, performer, and teacher in Oregon. This is essentially the Access Virus KB but in a convenient 37 key format.

In the last six months I have replaced the internal battery, replaced several of the pots that were not secure, and also completely disassembled the key assembly and cleaned the keys themselves as well as the key contacts. It is in good shape for its age, it has some scratches but the frame is aluminum...everything is sturdy and nothing ugly about it however please review the photos provided to be sure the physical condition meets your expectations.

Here are the only issues of this keyboard that I am aware of. None of these problems have affected my experience with the keyboard but I do not wish for the buyer to have any surprises when they receive the item:There are some scratches/marks on the frame, nothing out of the ordinary for a keyboard of this age.There are a couple of minor quirks of the Access Virus B's (this includes the Access Virus Indigo for sale) design which I want to clarify, if you have any questions about these please ask: The headphone jack is slightly noisy. This is best described as just a subtle consistent hiss/white noise type sound, the main outputs function without this noise, it is exclusive to the headphone output.The rocker switch for power must be engaged firmly or it will not power on the keyboard.

"For auction is the extremely rare Synton Fenix analog modular synthesizer, hand built in 1997 in the Netherlands. This unit is one of 75 ever made! The Fenix is a highly sought after analog modular used by the likes of Aphex Twin and other artists. I've owned this Fenix for nearly a decade, after trading for it with a respected member of the Analogue Heaven mailing list. The sounds the Fenix can produce are like nothing else!

Cosmetic Condition: Excellent. There are a few very minor scratches on the back panel and sides from rack wear, but the face of the Fenix is in extremely good condition. Some of the pictures have glare due to sunlight in the upper portions of the photos. Don't worry, the finish is still a very dark black.

Operational Condition: Very good. All modules are 100% operational and functional. There are four slightly scratchy pots: VCF1 Frequency, VCF1 Resonance, VCF3 Frequency, and VC3 Resonance. These could easily be cleaned and/or repaired by a tech or an experienced audiophile. Servicing and part information can be found on the Dutch Synth web site.

Bernhard Wöstheinrich elicits meaning from abstraction in electronic music and media whether as an artist, musician, painter, graphic designer, small town bohemian, or failed control freak. Using a compositional approach akin to his work as a visual artist, Wöstheinrich usually begins by improvising abstract sonic structures which are subsequently developed into an increasingly detailed aural picture, both in his own solo project as The Redundant Rocker, and in collaboration with colleagues Markus Reuter (as Centrozoon), Ian Boddy, Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock, No-Man singer Tim Bowness, Thorsten Niestrath, and Synapscape's Philipp Münch. He has released music on a variety of labels such as DiN, Burning Shed, Tonefloat, and Unsung, and continues to push at the boundaries of rock, electronica, and the avant-garde.

Southern California-based musician Dean DeBenedictis has always utilized his interest in a variety of styles and cultures to enrich the quality of his musical expression. Beginning his deep exploration of music in the 80's, De Benedictis has covered a wide gamut of sonic experience, moving through many jazz-fusion and progressive rock bands, music theory classes, and producing/performing source music for network television. Known to the electronic/ambient community as Surface 10 (as well as under his given name), De Benedictis has realized numerous recordings for labels like Hypnos, Lektronic Soundscapes, Spotted Peccary, DiN, and Cleopatra, founding the Fateless Flows Collective and its subsequent imprint in 2004. De Benedictis has spent the last few years refining his own idiosyncratic approach to rhythmic and non-rhythmic-based musics, to the effect that after a period of dormancy, he is actively reviving Fateless Flows as a ongoing conduit for his colleagues and his own future endeavors.

A practicing Buddhist, artist and spiritualist, Vic Hennegan contemplates the state of humanity through his music. “Many of us have lost our connection with ourselves, the planet, the universe and those around us. My intention and purpose is to create and bring forth music for dance, for harmony and for spiritual connection.” Hennegan’s work as a live performer makes him a rare commodity in the electronic world. With computers, samplers, vocals and synthesizers, Hennegan’s instinctive hand creates techno-trance and ambient music as a wildly pleasurable, uplifting experience that will take your soul on a journey to the center of ecstasy. Hennegan’s music emanates a unique warmth which moves the listener to a state of euphoria. Aside from working with vocalists Juliet Annerino and Becca Fuchs, Hennegan is also a member, along with frequent partner-in-sound Dean De Benedicitis, of Los Angeles's Fateless Flow Collective.

New York City native Ezekiel Honig, founder of the labels Anticipate and Microcosm, concentrates on his idiosyncratic brand of emotively warm electroacoustic music across a breadth of quietly insinuating recordings and performances. Using the loop as more of a tool than a rule, Honig paints outside the lines, nestling into a comfortable, shared space between muted techno, melodic, event-driven ambient, textural downtempo and slowmotion house, using them as reference points from which to stray, rather than as steadfast frameworks. Honig looks to incorporate a material nature into his music by imbuing it with a host of field recording/found-sound sources in the search for a balance between digital software innovation and the physicality of the world around us. His improvisational approach combines loops and elements from various songs with on-the-fly arrangements, editing and effects. Honig has performed in numerous galleries and alternative spaces worldwide including Montreal's Mutek festival, the Plateaux Festival in Poland, Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro in Milan, Italy, and the Detroit Electronic Music Festival.

Field recordist, sound collagist, and arch experimentalist John Hudak has courted interests in sound and music from the age of four. At the University of Delaware and the Naropa Institute for the Arts, Hudak studied English, video, photography, creative writing and dance, and soon thereafter began to create taped soundtracks for solo performance art/dance and mixed media. Language has also been a predominant focus in his life and artistic pursuits, having studied and published haiku poetry, the literary equivalent of the reductive, minimal, and nature-based sound forms that consistantly fascinate him. Hudak's current work focuses on the rhythms and melodies that exist in our daily aural environments; on his usually limited edition CDs, both self-released and found on such labels as Meme, and/oar, Intransitive, Alluvial and others, plus his web-based projects, mixed-media installations and performances, Hudak reframes and transforms sound in our environment so it can be noted, admired, and valued.

Jon Durant is a guitarist who brings a unique sense of texture and melody to his instrument. His distinctive “cloud guitar” soundscapes and engaging lead work have graced numerous CD recordings and film soundtracks. Either solo or in a group context, his myriad influences reference such colleagues as Fripp & Eno, Steve Tibbetts, David Torn, and the early work of Bill Frisell and Andy Summers. As executive producer of Alchemy Records, he produces recordings for internationally acclaimed artists in his small Massachusetts-based studio. In addition to longtime collaborators Tony Levin (bassist with King Crimson and Peter Gabriel), percussionist Vinny Sabatino, pianist Michael Whalen, and guitar/synth master Randy Roos, Durant has recorded with Colin Edward of Porcupine Tree, electric violinist Caryn Lyn, and many others. At EQ2011, Durant will perform with his son Harrison accompanying him, as the duo interface their liquid guitars within the labyrinthine environment of the iPad.

Marcus Fischer is a musician and multimedia artist currently based in Portland, Oregon. While drumming in various bands in and around his prior residence in Olympia, Washington, Fischer discovered new opportunities arising for him to further experiment with sound using tape loops and electronics. Field recordings, chance, and DIY instruments, coupled with acoustic instrumentation and visual art, define what has become Fischer’s minimal signature. Fischer curates vision+hearing, a series of audiovisual events that bring musicians and filmmakers together for collaborative performances, and is the co-curator of SIX, an annual six-speaker surround sound performance series, and has had the opportunity to score various short films and multimedia performances. Past musical releases include his recent Monocoastal on 12k, [i]Arctic/Antarctic[/i] (Luxus-Arctica), contributions and remixes to various compilations and net labels as map~map, various untitled 3” CDRs, and two CDs as part of the duo Unrecognizable Now.

Mem1, the husband and wife team of Mark and Laura Cetilia, seamlessly blend the sounds of cello and electronics to create a limitless palette of sonic possibilities in their improvisation-based performances. They use custom hardware and software in conjunction with a uniquely subtle approach to extended cello technique and realtime modular synthesis patching, which results in the creation of a single voice rather than a duet between two individuals. Their music moves beyond melody, lyricism and traditional structural confines, revealing an organic evolution of sound blending harmony with cacophony. The duo have taken part in residencies at Harvestworks in New York, STEIM and Kunstenaarslogies in the Netherlands and USF Verftet in Bergen, Norway. In 2009, they created a site-specific installation for the Museums of Bat Yam (Israel); their collaborative works with media artists Kadet Kuhne and Liora Belford have been screened and installed at venues including the Sundance Film Festival, Fringe Exhibitions (Los Angeles), and the Hordaland Kunstsenter (Bergen). Throughout their career, they have collaborated with a variety of artists including the Penderecki String Quartet, Steve Roden, Jan Jelinek, Frank Bretschneider, and Stephen Vitiello, amongst many others.

New Jersey's own Neil Nappe is an accomplished guitarist and synthesist whose pioneering work dates back to the 80s and his seminal release on Larry Fast's Audion label, July. Spending years refining and applying numerous approaches, techniques and disciplines to the performance capabilities of synthesizers and interactive guitar playing, Nappe's keen ear for texture and nuance has set him on a course that breaks with any established genre boundaries or confines. His dazzling work with guitar synths, generating loops and triggering samples to yield intensively immersive waves of undulating notes and frequencies, have rightly drawn comparisons with like-minded texturalists Robert Fripp, Manuel Gottsching, and Richard Pinhas. Equinoxygen will mark Nappe's eagerly anticipated return to live performance after a 15-year-plus hiatus.

Award-winning composer, author, and filmmaker Richard Lainhart is a digital artisan who works with sonic and visual data. Since childhood, he's been interested in natural processes such as waves, flames and clouds, in harmonics and harmony, and in creative interactions with machines, using them as compositional methods to present sounds and images that are as beautiful as he can make them. Studying composition and electronic music with Joel Chadabe at the State University of New York at Albany, Lainhart has gone on to compose music for film, television, CD-ROMs, and web-based applications. His compositions have been performed in the US, England, Sweden, Germany, Australia, and Japan; recordings of his music have appeared on the Periodic Music, Vacant Lot, XI, Airglow, Tobira, Field Studies, Infrequency, VICMOD, ExOvo labels, and, most recently, on the OTP-affiliated Periphery imprint. As an active performer and composer of over 150 electronic and acoustic works, Lainhart has appeared in public approximately 2000 times, and worked with such notable musicians as John Cage, David Tudor, Steve Reich, Phill Niblock, David Berhman, and Jordan Rudess, among many others.

Electronic musician and sound artist Stephen Vitiello transforms incidental atmospheric noises into mesmerizing soundscapes that alter our perception of the surrounding environment. He has composed music for independent films, experimental video projects and art installations, collaborating with such artists as Nam June Paik, Tony Oursler and Dara Birnbaum. In 1999 he was awarded a studio for six months on the 91st floor of the World Trade Center’s Tower One, where he recorded the cracking noises of the building swaying under the stress of the winds after Hurricane Floyd. As an installation artist, he is particularly interested in the physical aspect of sound and its potential to define the form and atmosphere of a spatial environment. This year has seen the CD release of MOSS (with Molly Berg, Olivia Block & Steve Roden) on 12k, plus collaborative work with Machinefabriek and Lawrence English; exhibitions include sound works hosted by Museum 52, and the first aural exhibit to grace New York City's celebrated High Line park. Vitiello has collaborated with such musicians as Pauline Oliveros, Scanner, Steve Roden, Frances-Marie Uitti, Andrew Deutsch, and Yasunao Tone. He is currently an Associate Professor of Kinetic Imaging at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Taylor Deupree is a sound artist, graphic designer, and photographer residing in New York. His solo works in recent years have explored a fusion of digital sound manipulation with organic and melodic textures that take influences from his interest in architecture, interior design, and photography. Themes of minimalism, stillness, atmosphere, nature, and imperfection prevade his work. In 1997, he founded 12k, a record label that focuses on minimalism and contemporary hybrids of acoustic and electronic music. Deupree has released over seventy CDs on the label by a roster of international sound artists and has developed 12k into one of the most respected experimental music labels in the world. Since 1993, he has released critically acclaimed recordings for labels worldwide including Spekk, Plop, Ritornell/Mille Plateaux, Raster-Noton, Disko B, Sub Rosa, Room40, and many others. Over the years, Deupree has collaborated with artists such as guitarist Christopher Willits, Kenneth Kirschner, Tetsu Inoue, Frank Bretschneider, Richard Chartier, and Stephan Mathieu. Deupree feels the importance of collaborative work is not to layer two individual styles but rather to fuse each artist's concepts to forge a unique, third identity.

Jim Spitznagel and Trevor Pinch comprise the duo known as The Electric Golem, who yield generative, modern psychedelic mindscapes thanks to Pinch's command of his Moog Prodigy and homemade modular synths, and Spitznagel's battery of similar devices like the Evolver, Mopho, Tenori-on, Nintendo DSi, iPod Touch, and Orb Sequencer. During his daylight hours, Pinch is Professor of Science and Technology Studies and Professor of Sociology at Cornell University, and the coauthor of perhaps the definitive book on synthesizer technology, Analog Days. Spitznagel is a true techno-polyglot, a digital computer artist, photographer, and sonic provocateur who has released all manners of twisted electronica on his Level Green imprint, and continues to raise the bar for circuit-based music as he craftily wrestles with the vagaries of tone, glitch, frequency, and pulsation. The duo just released their sophomore effort, Sky Snails, on OTP's new Periphery label."

The cost per post on MATRIXSYNTH-P is $5. The cost helps support the MATRIXSYNTH network, and the post helps support you. Posts will go up on MATRIXSYNTH Twitter and Facebook and will be displayed for a minimum of three days on the top right of MATRIXSYNTH, MATRIXSYNTH-B and MATRIXSYNTH-P.

To post on P submit the following for review to matrixsynthp@gmail.com:

1. Title: Title you want for your post.
2. Body: Text you want in the body of the post.
3. Media: images or links to video and/or audio (you will need to host them yourself on SoundCloud, YouTube, Vimeo or other). Images can be hosted on P and videos and audio can be embedded using any of the services mentioned.
4. email contact info if necessary (for items for sale). The email alias will be used as a label for the post as well. This will allow sellers to build a reputation and allow buyers to filter posts by sellers.
