Been in Boston for a couple of days. Came down to see my aunt before she left for Peru. Met up with a friend a at a spot called "Drink" on Congress St. Never new the place existed. I enjoyed it.

Good friend of mine, Mr. Jackson, founder of god Clothing started production on his clothing label early last year. It was then where I learned the intricacies of creating a clothing line. I was with him for many parts of the process observing the ins & outs of what goes into creating a high-end Menswear line from the sketching, to the picking out of materials, to being a fit model, to hearing conversation (at times heated) with manufacturers & so forth. It has been a tremendous journey for Jackson & the crew who have been a part of the creation of what is god Clothing.

This here video is a clip shot by the folks over at Grain Studios of some of the production process for the varsity jacket which is a Vanson Leathers collaboration & the process of the denim making.

The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975

There is plenty of insight to be gained from this documentary that compiles unreleased footage on black power & the Black Panther movement. Through this documentary I learned about many great historical figures that I hadn't heard of or if I had heard of them, didn't really know much of who they were. Figures like Stokely Carmichael, Bobby Seale, Huey P. Newton, Angela Davis and Eldridge Cleaver. It gave me a real insight on who they were and how powerful their presence was to African Americans in America at the time and in present day.

Our culture is rich and full of history. We've gone through many shades of progression but we still aren't where we need to be. Our struggle continues. The struggle isn't what it once was, but it still exists & there is a new generation to document what the remnant of the past has become.

Smooth criminal, Reggie Hammond in the film 48 hours was definitely one of my style icons growing up. He was a criminal out for 48 hours wearing a $500 suit. Eddie Murphy certainly had his great moments of style.

It's 12:25am & I am feeling restless. Worked some long hours the past few days. You would think I'd be sound asleep. My television is on, but on mute, music was on, at the moment, it's off. A thousand thoughts running through my mind.

Spoke to my grandma a little while ago & she told me to hang in there & not to change who I am. Right now, those words linger.

Such a special soul Nneka is. Every word that comes from her is a message. It is evident that everything she does, comes from the soul. Her movement is to be followed. There aren't many artist's out there willing to teach through music as she does. She is our young Lauryn Hill.

With her, A lesson is learned, awareness is spread through the power of her speech, as well as her music. It is a beautiful thing. She is a site to see.
