Few Words to all my Students on the eve of Teacher's Day-2011

Thanks to all my students who made me feel so special during my tenure at Bailey Road Krishna Niketan. I knew what I am. Still they all had given me those respect what if you ask me I never deserve that much. This just reminds some words I read from one of the book I read, it states "When you give respect to other it doesn't elevate stature of the person whom you have given respect rather it elevate the status of person who gives respect."

So, again I thank to all my students for listening me and make me feel special. In this special day I just want to share few words with my students.

Faith can do wonder in life. If you have faith on yourself you can wonder in life. So, please keep always faith on yourself and on your abilities. Have faith on your parents’ dreams.
Nothing lasts for ever. So never become a Paranoid. Just identify your priorities. Time heals everything.
Last thing I want to say.... Respect the existence of others. Remember People who sacrifice for you. Always respects your Parents whatever be the conditions and whatever be the situations.

Thanks all of you again giving those wonderful days of my life. Still I cherish the memories of those days.

Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2 : The world doesn't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.
Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: They called it opportunity.
Rule 6 : If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were; So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room..
Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer.*This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF.*Do that on your own time.
Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one…

Story of Appreciation (Little lengthy, but still a good one)

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.
He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score.

The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" the youth answered "none".

The director asked, " Was it your father who paid for your school fees?" The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.

The director asked, " Where did your mother work?" The youth answered, "My mother worked as clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked, " Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?" The youth answered, "Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.*

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: " Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"

The youth answered, " I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'

The Director asked, " please tell me your feelings."

The youth said, Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today. Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.

The director said, " This is what I am looking for to be my manager.I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first.
He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others.
For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement.
He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more.
If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?*

You can let your kid live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch a big screen TV.
But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it.
After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters.
It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way.
You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person.
The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.

You would have read many stories. This is may be one out of them ...but try and spread this story to as many as possible...this may change somebody's fate... :)

The facts about the Right to Education Act, its significance and a lot more is given in UNICEF website. Refer to these facts and share the information with your readers. Provide them with information which they can use and further spread the message.

What Is AWAAZ DO & How Can I A Make A Difference?
All children 6 to 14 years old have the right to free and quality education under the recently passed Right to Education Act.

The RTE Act specifies minimum norms in government schools. It requires all private schools to reserve 25% of seats for children from poor families (to be reimbursed by the state as part of the public-private partnership plan).

The Act also provides that no child shall be held back, expelled, or required to pass a board examination until the completion of elementary education. There is also a provision for special training of school drop-outs to bring them up to par with students of the same age.

The RTE Act is the first legislation in the world that puts the responsibility of ensuring enrolment, attendance and completion on the Government.

The Right to Education of persons with disabilities until 18 years of age has also been made a fundamental right. A number of other provisions regarding improvement of school infrastructure, teacher-student ratio and faculty are made in the Act.
To make the Right to Education Act successful, it is important that each one of us knows about it so that every child who is not in school can be sent back for free and quality education.

You can meet the school head, teachers, community members and even the parents of children enrolled there and talk to them about the RTE Act. Let them know about the highlights and let them know how every child can benefit.

How to get @facebook.com email address

Now any one can get a unique email id @facebook.com for sending and receiving email from friends and family. This email service actually focuses on sender and receiver. There are no usual email elements like subject lines, cc and bcc as found in popular email service providers like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Live Hotmail. We can also strictly control who can send us message at our @facebook.com email address.

Setup @facebook.com email ID address

1. Since this is a new feature, to get early access you can request for email messages feature for your facebook account. Login into Facebook account and click here to open request webpage. Then click invite button at bottom right.

2. Once your invite is approved, goto messages in your Facebook account to get your facebook email feature activated.

3. Then select username for your Facebook email. If you have setup unique username for Facebook account like facebook.com/username then your default facebook email ID will be username@facebook.com. If you do not have unique username assigned to Facebook account, then you can setup Facebook username URL first and then repeat above steps.

Once your Facebook email is setup, you can share your Facebook email ID. All email messages from friends will land in messages section of your Facebok account. [via Facebook Blog]

Facebook email messages: Points to note

1. Facebook email messages are not like traditional email messages. It does not contain email title or subject line. Just send quick message to any friend.

2. Messages are not grouped according to date or subject line (as there are no subject lines). All messages are grouped according to sender’s name.
3. You can enforce strict privacy policy on who can send you message at your Facebook email ID. Messages from blocked users automatically land in spam folder. You can also promote messages from spam to priority inbox incase message is accidentenly sent to spam folder.
4. It is a simpler form of email service where focus is on ease of text communication based on sending users rather than message contents.

In the past couple of years, Dwarka’s realty market has certainly undergone a paradigm shift. Dwarka is witnessing a new trend in lifestyle living with high-rise apartments and planned townships coming up in the region. The most notable development in the city is a ten-acre fashion hub, which is going to come up in the city among various others. Also, with the individuals having hunger for entertainment, in the coming future it is certainly going to become one of the most happening places in Dwarka, says Ms Leena Singh, Ashima-Leena Designers.

On the whole, Dwarka definitely has a bright future as the government has planned its Phase II in terms of relocating some prime usage there.

As per a MD of Khushi Properties, Mr.Mukesh Singh , “Three-four years back, people who had invested in Dwarka would sell off a 2BHK apartment to get a 3BHK apartment in older colonies of West Delhi such as Janakpuri and Vikaspuri.”

Real estate trends in Dwarka

DDA flats in Dwarka: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has developed 40,000 residential units under self financing, mega housing, HIG, MIG and incremental housing schemes. Overview

To import contacts from an CSV file to the BlackBerry device, complete the following steps:

1. Connect the BlackBerry device to the computer.
2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click Intellisync.
3. In the Intellisync® window, click Configure PIM.
4. Select the Address Book check box, and then click Choose.
5. Select ASCII Import/Export and click Export.
6. Click Browse and type BlackBerry.csv for the file name. This will create the file BlackBerry.csv.
7. Click Open. When prompted with the message This File does not exist, click Yes.
8. In the Choose Application section, click OK, and then click OK on Configuration.
9. Click Synchronize Now. This will create the CSV file with the field mapping required to add contacts.
10. Add the contact to the CSV file, and then repeat step 4.
11. Select ASCII Import/Export and click Import.
12. Click Synchronize Now. This imports the contact from the CSV file to the BlackBerry device.

Despite fuel price hike, Pranab Mukherjee managed to make both the salaried class as well as the entrepreneurs happy.

Highlights of 2010-11 budget presented by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in parliament Friday:

-- Clean energy cess of Rs.50 per tonne on coal produced in India
-- Concessional duty of 4 percent for solar power rickshaw developed by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research
-- Concessional customs duty of 5 percent for cable TV operators for importing equipment
-- Toys fully exempt from central excise duty
-- Service sector tax retained at 10 percent to aid the introduction of GST; more services to be taxed
-- Accredited news agencies exempt from service tax
-- Net revenue gain Rs.22,500 crore
-- Taxes on large cars and SUVs increased 2 percent to 22 percent
-- Basic duty of 5 percent on crude oil restored
-- Tax on cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco increased
-- Rs. 26,000 crore revenue loss due to reduction of direct taxes
-- Partial roll back of reduction in central excise duty
-- Income up to Rs.1.6 lakh per year exempt from income tax; up to Rs.5 lakh to be taxed at 10 percent; income of Rs.5-8 lakh to be taxed at 20 percent and income above Rs.8 lakh to be taxed at 30 percent
-- IT returns forms for individual tax payers to be further simplified
-- Expenditure in 2010-11 estimated at 11,l8,749 crore
-- Fiscal deficit estimated at 5.5 percent in 2010-11; an improvement of 1 percent over 2009-10
-- Two more centralised tax processing centres to be set up in addition to the one at Bangalore
-- National Social Security Fund created for workers in unorganised sector with allocation of Rs.1,000 crore
-- Government to give Rs.1,000 for each National Pension Scheme account opened by workers in the unorganised sector
-- Exclusive skill development programme for the textile sector
-- Fifty percent hike in allocation for schemes for women and child development
-- Rs.4,500 crore allocated for ministry of social justice and empowerment, a hike of 80 percent
-- Rs.2,600 crore allocated for ministry of minorities affairs
-- Rs.1,900 crore for Unique Identification Authority of India
-- Rs.147,344 crore allocated for defence
-- 2,000 youth to be recruited in central paramilitary forces
-- Draft Food Security Bill prepared and will be put in the public domain
-- Allocation on primary education raised from Rs.26,800 crore to Rs.31,300 crore
-- Banking facilities to be provided to all habitations with a population of 2,000 and more
-- Rs.66,100 crore allocated for rural development in 2010-11; Rs.40,100 crore for National Rural Employment Scheme; RS.48,000 crore for Bharat Nirman
-- Rs.1,270 crore allocated for Rajiv Awas Yojana for slum dwellers, up from Rs.150 crore, an increase of 700 percent with the aim of creating a slum free India.
-- Forty-six percent of plan allocations in 2010-11 will be for infrastructure development
-- Coal Regulatory Authority to be set up to benchmark standards of performance
-- Allocation for new and renewable energy sector increased 61 percent from Rs.620 crore to Rs.1,000 crore in 2010-11
-- National Clean Energy Fund to be established
-- Rs.200 crore allocated as special package for Goa to prevent erosion and increase green cover
-- Government committed to growth of SEZs
-- Four-pronged strategy for growth of agricultural sector
-- Rs.200 crore to be provided in 2010-11 for climate-resilient agricultural initiative
-- Involvement of private sector in grain storage to continue for another two years
-- In view of drought and floods, debt repayment period extended to June 2010
-- Five more mega food processing projects in addition to 10 existing ones
-- FDI flows in April-December 2009 $20.9 billion
-- FDI policy to be made more user-friendly with one comprehensive document
-- Apex level financial stability council to be set up for banking sector
-- Indian Banking Association to give additional licences to private players
-- Provision for further capital for regional rural banks
-- Roadmap for reducing public debt in six months
-- Implementation of direct tax code from April 2011
-- Government actively engaged in finalising structure of general sales tax regime; hopes to implement it from April 2011
-- New fertiliser policy from April 2010; will lead to improved productively and more income for farmers
-- Economy stabilised in first quarter of 2009-10; strong rebound in second quarter; overall growth at 7.2 and could be higher when Q3 and Q4 are taken into account
-- Export figures for January encouraging
-- Hope to breach 10 percent growth mark in not too distant future
-- Government set in motion steps to bring down food inflation
-- Need to review stimulus package; need to make growth more broad-based
-- India has weathered global economic crisis well; Indian economy in far better position than it was a year ago. In 2009 Indian economy faced grave uncertainty; delay in southwest monsoon had undermined agricultural production
-- First challenge now is to quickly revert to 9 percent growth and then aim for double digit growth; need to make recovery more broadbased
-- Second challenge is to make growth more inclusive; have to strengthen food security
-- Third challenge is to overcome weakness in government's public delivery mechanism; a long way to go in this

44 Deemed Universities are going to be Derecognised

Government has already told to Supreme Court that they are going to de-recognise 44 Deemed University. After the recommendation received from committee. The committee found these D-Universities are owned or controlled by one family rather than on academic considerations.
The task force has recommended that these universities which are to be de-recognised " should revert status quo ante as an affiliated college of the state university of jurisdiction so that students would be able to complete their ongoing courses and obtain degree from the affiliating university.
According to centre, most of the university which are de-recognised are offering under graduate and post graduate courses to students. The task force found that these universities has increased the seats disproportionately beyond the actual intake capacity, taking very high fees from students compare the recommendation of HRD ministry.
I hope govt. before de-recognising these all universities should take care the students else it more harm India as Nation where Education is still question to many.

3 Idiots: The Think Machine

Raju Hirani’s 3Idiots has bettered much beyond the expectations and is on the verge of breaking all the records. The movie has proved to be true on the viewer’s expectations and has also given relief to the bleak year 2009. The movie has given the Bollywood Industry the reason to cheer. From direction to screenplay to acting everything has been perfect. In short the movie has proved to be a complete entertainer for the whole family.

However along with the success the movie has been completely surrounded by controversies. First by Chetan Bhagat’s objection of him being cheated and recently now by the ragging sequences in real life as well as back to back suicides in the few days.

After watching the movie the questions that may arise or rather should arise in individuals mind are- 1) Is our life so cheap that one should end up by committing suicide? 2) Why the child has to bear all the pressure and live up to his parents expectations? 3) Why can’t one decide what he wants to do in life? 4) Why parents burden the children with their dreams? 5) Is the learning system correct?

The answers according to me are

1) No the life is not so cheap. Every individual has been gifted with something or the other and has been sent in the world for some special purpose. It is one’s duty to value the life and by committing such silly acts we hurt God. And what about our loved ones? They are the one who are most hurt.
2) & 3) The parents should understand the child has his own talent and his own dreams. When one is forced he/she would never accomplish success and would never capitalise on anything in life. Moreover the respect for the loved ones may decrease and the hatred keeps on piling. In short the bonds and the family ties may also get affected.
4) Few parents have an orthodox thinking and keep saying, ’what I couldn’t achieve in life, my child will fulfil and achieve for me.’ But why they want to burden up the child? The child has his own share of thinking, builds up his interest as he grows and recognises the flair. Thus he should be the sole decider of his life, if he is right and promises to achieve by giving 100% for what he aims.
5) Finally about the system- There is nothing wrong with the education system but the problem is, one who comes first or second in exams are scholars and others are sidelined. People think only the toppers are the best and rest the waste. They don’t look for an individual’s skills, his views, his practical knowledge and his ability; sadly what one looks for is the percentile and marks. In this cats race the average people are lost and find no place.

On the whole the conclusion is if the child and their parents understand well each other then these suicides can stop. The child should understand their parents live for them as well as on the hopes to see their children achieve something in this world, thus instead of hurting oneself and others, he should make others understand and handle a few of the downs and pressures of life with positive energies. If this happens then the only thing one would be heard from everyone and that is Aal Izz Well.

A whole generation grew up in the 60s, 70s and 80s, dreaming of owning it. Bajaj scooters, one of the aspirations of the Indian middle class for decades, will soon be part of history. There was a time when Bajaj scooters ruled the roost on Indian roads. Supers and Chetaks were the order of the day; Lambys had become unfashionable and Vespas tried to compete but just had to stay eating dust. And bikes with 100 km a litre had not captured the imagination of the masses.

If in those days one had to picture a quintessential middle class Indian family, it would be a snap of a Bajaj scooter with: the father driving, trying hard to concentrate on the task at hand - of herding his family safely to their destination; the younger kid, standing in the front, wind rushing through the hair, elation written on the face at this chance of discovering the world outside; the mother, sitting sideways, clucthing the stepney tire, with a rather vacant expression; and the elder kid sandwiched between both parents, twisting his head this side and the other, desperately trying not to miss the view on account of his position. Driving further this picture into the Indian psyche was the famous “Hamara Bajaj” advert; the idea behind which was clearly that a family isn’t complete (or middle enough) without a Bajaj.

And what a vehicle it was. Not particularly appealing to look at, it made up for the lack in the looks by its sheer versatility in usage, its durability on Indian roads and the fact that whatever the problem be it would probably be solved by tilting the vehicle for 30 seconds at an angle of thirty degrees. A popular joke - “The Indian rocket did not fire. What to do? Just tilt it for a second.” said the sardarji and it worked - only helped to reinforce the hold of this vehicle on the Indian mind.

After ruling the india scooter market over 50 years, Bajaj Auto, the company which developed a scooter market with its popular Hamara Bajaj campaign invoking trust and reliability, today said it is phasing out scooter production, keeping the focus on motorcycles. Accroding to report Bajaj phasing out the productiong of Bajaj Scooter to focus on its motorcycle production.

CAT Exam server crashed on 1st Day of Online Test

Common Entrance Test server crashed on 28th Nov'09 all across the india. There are 2,50,000 students appears the examination this day. The marks of this exam will make these candidates eligible for prestigious Management Institutes of India including (Some IIMs).

This time there is a major change in the format of CAT examination, it is become a Computer Base Test from Optical Marker Test.

Around 50,000 students appeared in New Delhi alone. These tests being held between 28th Nov to 7 Dec across 32 cities in 105 centres connected through main server.

IIMs also suggested to all students who appear to refrain from discussing the new formats of CAT.
CAT scores determine entry to the IIMs in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Kozhikode and Shillong as well as the Management Development Institute in Gurgaon, Institute of Management Training in Ghaziabad, Mudra Institute of Communications in Ahmedabad and Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research in Mumbai.

Indian laptop market grows 85%

Indian laptop market is growing at rate of 85% and its contribution toward the overwhole PC market nearly 25.1%. According to IDC india, more than 5 lacs of laptops were sold.

Hewlett Packard (HP) retained the top slot with a market share of 37.8 per cent, while Lenova occupied the second position and Acer third.
But some of other major are giving tough fight to these reputed brands. The Govt. Central procurement department (DGS&D) has also taken many initiatives to bring other brands as option for Government customers. Among these one famous brand is Fujitsu. This is the first time Fujitsu, German came in Laptop Rate Contract of DGS&D. This Fujitsu brand is powered by Japanese Technology and German Manufacturing excellence. The final jinks which been over come by company to have contract with Redington India for its distribution partner. Redington India's DGS&D Biz team handling Fujitsu's laptop business in DGS&D Rate Contract.
