Little League parade day. This year, we switched teams.
So, Caleb's on the Ray's. Unfortunately, Josh is
not able to play because his allergists orders.

De Young Museum

David and I celebrated my birthday
by going to the King Tut exhibit at the
De Young Museum. I'm not sure why
but I have no pictures of that particular
exhibit. This was Josh first experience at
a grown up museum where you're not
allowed to touch anything. Caleb refused
to go with us for that very reason.

The Science Fair

I'm so proud of Josh he did his first
science fair project ever. David it helped
him figure out what light source made a
solar cricket move the faster.

I'm very grateful to the woman who put this science
fair together. She is a parent volunteer!

The Tech Museum

New Year's week end we went to the
Tech museum. One of David's Christmas
gifts was to go to the Star Trek exhibit.
I think it was mainly intended for hard core
fans. We met one man who thought the story
line was the truth. I don't remember the whole
story but he really thought that one of the
characters was still stuck in space. Here's a shot
of Josh with a hard core fan.

New Year's Eve 2010

This year, we decided to start a new tradition.
The four of us had a New Year's Eve party with
quite a spread of appetizers.

Caleb actually had a reaction to something that
night and got hives the next day. His skin was so
itchy and red.

New Year's at Chabot Space and Science

As you may have noticed, I'm a little behind on my posts.
New Year's Eve day we went to Chabot Space and
Science for space trivia and a balloon drop. The museum
placed small papers insides with the names of prizes
that the kids could redeem.

It was a fun day. It's something we'd definitely do
again.

Gingerbread cookie decorating

Today, all the 1st grade classes at Josh's school
got to decorate gingerbread men in the cafeteria.
The room moms and teachers assisted 80 kids with
their masterpieces.

I had to take a picture of this cookie a ramdon
child made. I love it because I think the frosting
and candy are thicker than the cookie itself.

My breakfast with my sista

This morning I got to have breakfast
with my sister who lives in Arizona.
We went to the Crepevine. If you've
never been there you really should go.
The food is scrumptious. Sista, I'm so
glad we were able to hang out for a bit.
That was nice.

Fundraiser at the fire station

This past Saturday, we went to a fundraiser at the
fire station. The firefighters were raising money to
buy Christmas presents for kids in need.
While we were there the kids got to see the fire trucks,....

take pictures with santa,

listen to a story called, "The Fireman's Night
Before Christmas,"

and even sit in the front cab of the fire truck.

It was a great day!

Letters to Santa

We're heading over to Macy's today to drop off Josh
and Caleb's letters to Santa. They donate money to the make a wish
foundation for each letter dropped off there. I think the letters are cute. Josh's
says and I quote, "Dear Santa, I want soper Marios bruthers
for the wii. Thacs. Josh." He wrote his mostly by himself. Caleb's says, "Santa I want colored
paper and orange Play Doh. Love Caleb." I helped Caleb with the spelling.

Sun Gallery

I was fortunate enough to go on Josh's field trip
to Sun Gallery this morning. The gallery has a
Day of the Dead display going right now. The
featured artist's last name is Camacho. This little
girl shared her interpretation of the painting with us.
It was so incredibly cute.

Day of the Dead is celebrated in the Mexican culture
on November 2nd. It's a time to celebrate the life
of loved ones who have past to the other side.

After discussing the art, the kids got to go the
art lab to make colorful day of the dead skulls
of their own.

Afterwords, the kids looked at all the art and
discussed what they enjoyed about their friends
work.

It was nice to go a field trip to somewhere I hadn't
been before. I was pleasantly surprised by what a
nice place it is.

Halloween night

Halloween night, we ate a pumpkin shaped pepperoni
pizza with Lisa, Robert, Owen and Gilbert.

Then, went trick or treating around the neighborhood.

Unhaunted House at Sulphur Creek

Last Friday evening, we went to an unhaunted house/party
at Sulphur Creek. The boys got to roast marshmallows
with their friend Peter.

The unhaunted house featured the Wizard of Oz
characters as well as animals like bats, snakes,
frogs and as you can see a turtoise.

Caleb with his good friend Ryan and Glenda the
good witch with a snake of all things.

Josh and Caleb are competing to get their plastic
eye ball down the water filled half pipe as fast as
they can.

We had a great time. It was educational and fun
at the same time. I would highly recommend this
event to anyone with small children.

Ward Halloween party

On Tuesday night, the Young Women and Young Men
put together a Halloween party for the primary kids.

Josh dressed up as Harry Potter. Be careful
he might change you into something with that
magic wand of his.

Pump it up Birthday Party

We've been crazy busy. So, this year we decided
to have a combined birthday party at Pump It Up.
The kids had a ball.

As you can tell, I'm a little behind on my posting.
Last Sunday, we celebrated Papa May, Josh and
Caleb's birthdays. This was grandpa's turn to
open gifts.

Caleb received Sorry from his Auntie Lisa, Uncle Robert,
and cousins Owen and Gilbert.

Zoo Field Trip

Last week, I went with Caleb's class to the zoo.

We went at the perfect time because the animals
were wide awake. This was the most lively I've
ever seen them.

It was a fun day. I'm grateful to be able to
go on field trips like these.

Joshua's 7th birthday!

It's official! Josh is 7 years old.

His home party was complete with a Harry Potter
ice cream cake and a Sonic Leapster game.

G & M Farms

We spent our afternoon at G & M Farms.....

because they have a super, cool corn maze. It's huge!
It took us at least 45 minutes to get through it.
The boys loved it they were running around and
laughing the whole time.

After the maze, we enjoyed some other activities like
Josh being buried in corn.

My reading incentive winner!!!

My boy's school does a great job at rewardingpositive behaviors.
Each week, there's one child per class who wins the reading incentive award which is a free book for reading books during the week.

This week Caleb won. He's so excited about it!

Caleb's birthday party at school

Caleb's class has a lot of rules about birthday parties.
The first is that we're only allowed one party a month
and all September birthday have to share. We were
lucky we got to share with Jessie:). Both boys are
good kids.

We also have to buy store bought cupcakes as home
made baked goods are prohibited. Fresh fruit was a
requirement too but most of the kids at Caleb's table
turned it down.

guest appearance to promote the school fundraiser
that evening.
