Mayan Astrology - Individual Consultancy Services

The Mayan calendar is a guide, which explains how the energies of the cosmos flow. These energies influence our consciousness at a very deep level and it is possible to understand these influences once we understand the Mayan calendar. Aligning with this flow gives us a way to understand the meaning of life in general and our life mission as well as ourselves. A small warnig here: Dreamspell (or the 13 Moon calendar) is not the Mayan Calendar and it has different rules then the authentic Mayan Calendar.

According to the Mayan Calendar, There are 20 signs that follow each other in a sequence. In other words, one sign rules for one day. For the Maya each one of these signs are different archetypes that influence each day at the spiritual level. On the other hand, each day has a tone that is between 1 and 13 and these different tones will bring about different infulences for the days that they are governing. These two cycles are like two cogwheels that are in relation and consequently they will create 20 x 13 = 260 different energies (fig. 1). This equals to 260 different character combinations. According to our birthday, we possess one of these 260 energies, which I call a `core sign`. (fig. 2)

Again, from our birthday, it is possible to elicit an individual life tree, which is a tool for individual consultancy. (fg 3.) In this life tree, there are complimentary signs to our core sign. These are our past sign, future sign, male sign and female sign. All of these energies are different combinations out of 260 and they will give us insights about different aspects of our life path and ourselves.

According to the Mayan shamans, we all know about our life mission before we incarnate. At that spiritual level, each one of us make a conscious choice about which day to incarnate, so that this unique day’s energy will provide us the most suitable energies for us to complete our life mission. Hence, there is no good or bad. You have our conscious decisions and your spiritual evolution. Getting to know the complimentary energies in your life tree, will help you to activate their guidance in your lives. The guidance that the Mayan Astrology provides for you has a lot to do with remembering your life mission. However I never give you a sentence such as `your life mission is....`. SIGNS AND THE FOUR DIRECTIONS

Each one of the 20 daysigns of Tzolkin are located at one of the sacred four directions. The signs at the same direction has a strong potential to guide and empower each other. Western-Eastern signs help each other with their spiritual evolution and Northern-Southern constitute the other group. However a Northern sign with a Western sign, or a Southern sign with an Eastern sign will create polarity for each other and this will be an attactive situation which is good for partners.

Why The Mayan Calendar?

Why NOT the Mayan calendar? is the better question. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, the Mayan calendar is not repetitive cycles which are all based on physical movements through space. The Mayan calendar is cycles, within cycles, showing humanity the progression upward, in the climb towards unity, and conscious co-creation.

What is consciousness? Consciousness is the awareness of being aware. Whenever you notice yourself noticing something, you are experiencing your own consciousness. Most of the time people use their consciousness by avoiding cars on the road and opening doors instead of walking into them. But when you’re noticing yourself noticing something, you’re experiencing your consciousness.

What is a calendar? A calendar is the absolute dead center of any civilization. Everything in that civilization revolves around its calendar. Due dates, bill dates, when you’re supposed to be at work, how old you are. All of these things are relative to the calendar. Including the evaluation of your performance. How many widgets can you produce by Wednesday? That’s how valuable you are. It’s all related to the calendar. A calendar is an agreement of a society or civilization of what day or time it is. That is the absolute dead center of any civilizations consciousness. Your consciousness of what has come before, or what will come in the future is all related to our calendar.

Your consciousness is oriented by two considerations. A consideration is a decision on how things are. One of these considerations is time, and the other is place. Time and place is the orientation of your consciousness. Its working right here, and always. At some time you had the consideration that you would be at a specific place. It’s been this way your entire life. Time and place, time and place, time and place. Even different locations have different consciousnesses than other locations. When you were in school, you learned that people in different times, would definitely have a different consciousness than you’re using today. Someone in the 15th century would have a different consciousness than you, wouldn’t they? There are things that wouldn’t quite fit in their consciousness that you’re using every single day. There were also certain things that they had to do every single day, that wouldn’t fit so comfortably in your consciousness... like carrying water for instance. So different times have a different orientation of consciousness as well as different places.

This orientation of time and place is an operation which is establishing your view point. A view point is the point in which you view the universe. Your view point is absolutely sacred, for one simple reason. You’re the only one, who can have it. In all life forms throughout the entire universe, you are the only person who can have your viewpoint. People can kind of agree with you, but they can’t have yours. I’m sure you’ve noticed you can’t even give yours away. So it’s very important to understand that this information is not at all to change or alter your viewpoint. That’s your job. I’m only going to feed your view point, and then you do with it what you will.

There is only one main law in the universe. This law is What you pay attention to is what you become conscious of. It doesn’t matter if you’re a child, watching ants in the dirt, and that’s what you’re paying attention to. Or if you’re a multi-dimensional being looking out over five universes. What you pay attention to is what you become conscious of... always. People talk about free will, there is only one exercise of your free will too. That’s your choice, of what you’re going to pay attention to. It’s always your choice. Why is it that some people can stand more pain than others? You’ve noticed it, we all have. Some people go right on living with a sprained ankle, and others can’t step another foot. Sometimes you’re paying more attention tot he pain, sometimes you’re paying attention to other stuff... and whose choice was it? So in all circumstances, your free will boils down to what you choose to pay attention to.

Dreamspell is not the Mayan Calendar

Dreamspell, which is also known by the 13-moon calendar, is not the actual calendar that the Mayas were using. This is an invented system by one of the important figures of the New Age movement, Jose Arguelles. Here, I would like to show my gratitude to Arguelles because of his efforts to pull the attention on the Mayan calendar. He is also the first person to reveal the spiritual basis of the Mayan calendar. As Calleman says, “Argüelles was the first in modern time to systematically work on the deeper meaning of the Mayan calendar and presented an alternative interpretation to that of the academic by suggesting that the Great Cycle caused the spiritual evolution of humanity.”

However, later on Arguelles moved away from his spiritual-based time conception and launched the calendar of Dreamspell. This calendar is based on 13 Moons each of 28 days plus an extra day, July 25th, outside of time (13 x 28 + 1 = 365). As exhibited here, Dreamspell (although it is presented as an alternative to the Gregorian calendar) is a calendar that uses astronomical cycles rather than tracking the spiritual evolution of consciousness. A calendar, which is based on endless astronomical cycles, would not explain the evolution of consciousness. Hence, it would not be wise to say that Dreamspell is aligned with the notion of the true Mayan calendar, which is tracking the spiritual evolution of humanity and cosmos in general.

Furthermore, as Calleman would put it ”there was however a problem with the Dreamspell, namely that the Maya had never used the particular Tzolkin count that it was linked to. Many of the followers of Dreamspell, mostly for lack of knowledge, simply presented Dreamspell as The Mayan Calendar. In practice the result of this was that many individuals have been deluded into thinking that the Galactic Signature they had been assigned also was the one that the Maya would have used.”
The most apparent illusions caused by this are:
a) a false guidance in terms of synchronizing with the cosmic flow.
b) and a false insight into our own individuality and spiritual mission.

Tzolkin (meaning “count of days”) is the true count that is being followed for centuries by the Mayan day-keepers. This count is not mistaken or missed even for one day for all this time. As a final note about the Dreamspell, I want to quote from Adam Rubel who is a co-director of a nonprofit organization based in the US, Saq' Be': Organization for Mayan and Indigenous Spiritual Studies.

“The Mayan traditions of Guatemala have been the main focus of our organization since its inception more than four years ago. For the past seven years, I have been learning directly from Ajq'ij and elders in Guatemala about that tradition. This is the place from which I speak to you, on behalf of this experience.”

“Regarding the dreamspell and work of Arguelles: It has been made clear, I think everybody here understands the need to distinguish this system from any relation to the Mayan tradition… This is the wish of the elders, that the confusion and misrepresentation cease. . The tradition is non confrontational and has thus not undertaken any efforts to discredit the works of those that advance this system. They have issued warnings, however, and I have heard that the Grand council of Ajq'ij and elders are becoming more stringent regarding the release of information and who is claiming to represent the Mayan tradition because so many have taken advantage of the people and the tradition … This warning has also been directed at those using the dreamspell that still promote it as a Mayan system, it is not something they recognize or endorse.”
