How to get out of an art block? Part 4

Hi!
Sorry for being SO inactive on this blog. Its become very overshadowed by my other blogs....
However, now I have something in mind that can get you out of an artblock I've FINALLY come back to writing something on here! Hooray!

Anyway, something I have only just realised actually and I have now found it really helps me gain inspiration ;is immersing yourself in a lot of creative things. Whether this means online, an event or even at school/ classes. I don't mean creating things 'cause at this stage, if you are stuck on what you want to actually create then how are you going to immerse yourself in it?!?
But what I still advise is take any opportunity to go to a creative place or event or gathering with other creative people!...Why?

Well this is not a promotion of my other blog at all, (although looking at them may give you inspiration too? hahaha Im joking!) but recently I went to Graduate Fashion Week. At that time I was also not feeling very creative due to just finishing University for the summer. (Yay for me!) But with that..... when it came to making things..... I was feeling a little lost. :(

At the event I got to view ALOT of different talented graduate designer portfolios, garments, textiles, prints, it was truly inspiring to say the least! There were a lot of different drawing style, garment designs, shapes, exhibitions, and even the simplest thing of fonts!

Now, whats my point for exampling all this? Well the next day after I had slept on it and my mind was absorbing the days activities and things I saw during the day. I ended up drawing out designs, imaging fabrics I could use for certain garments and different illustrations because of the day before! ...
Some of that can be seen in my deviantART now because of that, but I think you understand what I'm saying right?

So overall, try and get yourself into a creative environment...that could be going into a local art gallery, art cafe, designer fashion shop (even though you won't be buying anything if it too expensive there is nobody stopping you from looking!), sculpture park, or even a library and looking at picture books haha.....or you could just onto art websites? ^^;....although I find its just better if you can go out and get inspiration as it sometimes tends to be staying at home that gets you into an art block in the first place hahaha~

Anyway, hoorray for this long over due post, I hope it helps somebody!

Hi, wow do I exist here? Hmm at the moment nope....

Anyway, no matter how much I really do want to post now, I unfortunately can't (Hey ignore that Im posting now, its 'cause internet access is a lot easier than actually posting pictures and things haha)

This blog seems to be getting nowhere.....I cant think of any 'Artist block' solutions, nor can I upload inspiring art that doesn't belong to me....so this blog, is taking a downfall.
I really don't want to resort to taking the blog down, as what I've got here I really like, but I just need some suggestions! And maybe someone that would willingly let me post some of their images, so I can talk about them and yes, promote there work in a way.
Whether they were a fashion designer, graphic artist, traditional artist, photographer, anything...... I just want to post about all the things I've seen on Tumblr, but it is the fact that, they're not my works, so I dont have the right to post them here....:(....

So yeah.....I really want to post something inspiring, but I'm lacking on things I'm allowed to post :(.....I mean come on! My last post to November 5th!......

Anyway, any suggestions or any artist would like me to promote you? Please comment below! :)~

Aww so obviously you can tell that today is bonfire night or guy fawke night, or....firework night. Whatever you want to call it, today is still a time full of colourful, noisy and flashy fireworks!
So for this post in my art inspiration blog, I will show you some photos of fireworks I took....

How could you not be inspired by them? Look at the colour, the shapes they make....the sounds, booms and the smell they make. They are so pretty! hehe~
Anyway, I hope they inspire you in same way. If they did please post a comment below and tell me how or if possible a link to your art piece? :)~

Halloween Themed Post?

~ Halloween Theme ~

I really want to do a Halloween theme post on here...but I need a few suggestions....and Fast to be honest as Halloween is only 2 days away.
But actually I think this post will be going to def ears, as....sadly, I think the majority of the time with all my posts....I'm talking to nobody :'(....but oh well, I like talking to maybe the few that might, and the ones I like to image are reading, so any suggestions on a Halloween theme post for this blog or any of my others ones here->

Latest inspiration

As the title suggestions I have been very inactive with this blog as I have been busy with university* and keeping my other blog actually active! So sorry haha..

But I am back now with some of my recent drawing for my Universitys citys museum.

These were all about 5-10 minutes drawing or less, using biros, coloured pencils, felt pens, liner pens and pencils. The intentions for drawing them so quickly is so we could have very relaxed and not over done and over thought drawings and they were kept in their natural state.
This I think is a good idea to try out for yourselves, as you have no time to over think what you are doing in such a small amount of time, its a goo way to get you drawing, so try it out and tell me how it goes by posting a comment in the comment section below!

Right so that it for this post. I hope to be more active on here from now on.

How to get out of an art block? Part 3

Hi! So as the title say this is part 3 of 'How to get out of an art block'.
So this one will be short, but to the point.
The piece of inspiration is actually from me watching Studio Ghibli's film 'Kiki's delivery service'. Which is an art inspiration in itself, becuase its amazing!
But for those who have not watched it, I will explain how this was an particularly inspiring from a few word in the movie itself.

In the film, Kiki (the main character) who is a witch, has lost her way with flying on her broomstick.Where she had met an artist along the way of the story the artist Ursula was explaining how Kiki could fly on her witches broom again.Also fom what it sounded like how Ursula herself got out of art block too.
The trick she said was, don't think or try too hard about doing what you're doing.
When I thought about it....Though it seems very simple, this trick is very true and most of the time we wouldn't even notice it!
Have you ever noticed when you are stuck in an artist block, you try so hard to gain inspiration, to draw, to create,to make? No matter what, nothing comes, even though you try so hard.
Then you notice that when you are not concentrating or not thinking of anything, normally the best art or inspiration comes?
This happens most of the time I think, and its such a simple thing.
So maybe next time you are in an artist block, why not just take a break?
Don't think about it, do something completely different and take your mind off of art for awhile.
Just wait until your inspiration comes from elsewhere and you'll be making art in no time!

How to get out of an Art block? Part 2

So its already at part 2 on my 'How to get out of an Art Block?'. I'm hoping these methods will also come of a use to someone!

Right, so kind of continuing on with my previous post method, about getting out of an art block. This can be done with music or with out its really up to you on where or how your feeling about doing it. So what is this method of getting out of an artist block? Photos.
Ok so this is a pretty obvious one, but knowing from experience of being in an artist block you don't sometimes think of the most seemingly obvious things to get your art inspiration back.

How does it work and what to do?
Well first way of doing this is listening to music again as I said is kind of a follow on from the last one. Where ever you are, whether your at home or browsing the high street or if it possible and you think you can get away with it at work or school. Take photos that you think will go well with the music you are playing, make it seem like the soundtrack of a movie or even your life. Take photos of anything that you may think fit that music if it were a music video. With this it will not only get you imaging and gaining inspiration from the music like said in the the previous post, but you will also have the visual stimulation that can just be 'point and clicked at' instead of drawing or making it. If you are also out about outside you will have the a different feeling again from if you were at home. Which will most probably get you back in the flow of thinking creatively if you are stuck in an artist block.

The without music version of this is practically the same, only with out having the music to influence your photos. Without music all you'd have to do is just take photos of anything and everything you see around you. Whether you see a poster on a wall or window you like, a shop sign with fancy font, a *persons clothing*, flowers, animals, anything and everything you see, just take a photo and once you get home or even whilst you are still out, browse the photos you've taken and you are bound to find one you particular like and have gain art inspiration from. Then from their its a matter of editing, make a painting, drawing or even an outfit from referencing it or even using it.
Here are some photos I took whilst i was in the park once, with my camera using this method once before.

All of them flowers, I know pretty simple huh? But that's how simple this method is, it really doesn't matter what subject you take a photo of, to gain art inspiration, inspiration will be there no matter what I think!
So, where I'm more of a fashion/clothing orientated designer these flowers got me thinking of how I could make these into clothing or dresses using the shape, the colours, what type of material I'd use to make them. This method I think is a very effective way or getting out of an art block as its easily done and can be done anywhere (as long as you won't get in trouble that is ^^;)

So yeah, that's just two more methods I can think of to getting out of art block. Again I hope these help you too!

Street Musician

So today I went to the town high street and heard country music playing.

Being as that I was on the high street we get quite a few musicians playing there to quite often
so I have seen this guy playing his guitar and singing before. His music reminds me very much of something you'd hear in a game, like what you hear in 'Final Fantasy:Crisis Core'....but that might be just me haha.
But other then that it really got me thinking of the old west...or maybe because it was because of his hat? I don't know...and the obvious thing of its country music....
So as I carried on listening to him, these same thoughts were in my head, playing 'Crisis Core' and maybe a 'Clint Eastwood' film haha and then I realised it was kind of sad that there were so few people listening...maybe next time, hes there there will be more?
So yeah, what art inspiration did I gain from this? The thought of the old west, game music which always inspires me, and thought of how I can evoke the 'saddness' maybe of unheard talent like this guy. Maybe I'm thinking too much into it, but hey that's how this inspired me and I hope by listening to this clip of him playing you'd get some art inspiration too and as I mentioned in my 'How to get out of art block' post earlier, Music is normally always a way of getting out of art block!

How to get out of an Art block?

Well, for those of you who have lost art inspiration maybe experiencing 'art block' or 'artist block'.
'It' as Urban Dictionary defines as 'Artist block also known as an 'art block', a usually random occurrence in which one loses inspiration and motivation to draw.' so pretty self explanatory if you ask me.

So how to get out of this troublesome art block?
One method a good online friend told me on deviantART once before, when I was 'suffering' from artist block myself was: to draw the anime 'chibi's'. Which in real world/ English terms means 'small', 'midget', 'miniature', 'short' and so on (click on any of those words for another Urban dictionary definition). So having been told this, I tried it...and I have to say, it work! This method got me thinking of ways I could make normal people into 'mintures' of themselves, which sparked that inspiration I needed to get creating and back into the flow of drawing again! Though the downside...if you are not an 'anime' artist, nor do you draw people either way....it would really come into much of a suggestion...

My other method of getting rid of art block and gaining that inspiration was found when I stumbled upon a 'childs' art programs which suggested: drawing random lines *see my example* and seeing what you make out of them. Kind of like looking up at the clouds in the sky and seeing a dinosaur or a goat, it works the same way in gaining art inspiration. With the swirly line method to getting rid of art block, it helps makes you imagine things and see things as well as making it into something. All you literally need to do is draw a random squiggly line and try and see things in it. This may take a few attempts to actually get something but it will work. When using paper draw your lines on one piece then get piece of paper and layer it on top and draw on it using the lines underneath as guidance. With photoshop like what I am using in my examples, just make multiple layers and go from there.

After the stage here I would carry on developing it until it was complete.

The last method I can think of, is music. This one I think works for many people. Try and capture the feel of the music, whether it be rock, pop, metal, country, rap any genre of music will work for this. Even those in a different languages it will all work to get you out of that art block.
Pick up on lyrics, draw about what they are talking about, draw how the music feels, how it makes you feel. Is it peaceful? Is it happy? Is it sad? try and evoke that emotion by drawing it or making something with it. What I find I do is doodle everything that comes to mind whilst listening to it, not mater what it is draw it, even if it has no relevence at all to the song, draw it. In that time you're bound to like something in particular that you've drawn in your doodles. So develop that, makes it more of a piece, make it into something, redraw it, with that then hooray, you've beaten that troublesome art block. If however whilst you're drawing that piece, inspiration lacks again, repeat the song or play a new one, to give your piece another feeling or combination of feelings, its all really up to you.

Minhyuk- Star drawing interpretation.

So for an example of this, right now I am listening to Korean musician 'Minhyuk -Star' from the kdrama soundtrack of 'Heartstrings'. If you listen to it, is very relaxed, dreamy, and is easy to listen to.
Even though I don't understand the language it still has the title of 'Star' which I understand and the feeling which this is what I come up with during the song was playing. With this you'd develop one with it, and again make it more of a piece.

So that is all I can think of right now on how to get out of an art block. Im sure I will be able to think of more later on sometime, to help others get inspiration. When I do, I will make a part two for this.

New blog, new theme, hard start!

So this is my new blog! (other blog can be viewed here)
As the title suggests....getting started with anything new is the hardest part, which is something I find with art too....which is what this blog is designed for!
To have things that will hopefully give inspiration to my fellow artists.
Whether you focus on drawings, paintings, textiles, clothing/fashion, traditional art, digital art, toys, games, figurines or literature anything and everything, I hope to give you the inspiration you need to either get out of the troublesome art block or just to get those 'creative juices' flowing so you can create works of art!

I will be taking what can be considered normal things I/we do, or what I have seen/done such as 'what I wore that day','something interesting I saw another day' an event, other artists, a story anything and everything that sparks an interest to me, I'm sure will shark an interest to other artists.
With that, I will be writing about it all here on my art inspiration blog. I will be posting photos, posting music, images anything I know will capture artists imaginations so they can create the works of art we love to see!

My art inspiration blog, will not be like a daily/weekly journal or diary of my life story, it will be focused on gaining inspiration and letting others gain inspiration from it (hopefully ^^;)~

So please, be patient as I gather inspirations for my first official post, which I hope will be soon! :)~
