Well I have been asked to take loads of photos where I work, for our new webpage which is being developed and I suppose it is nice to be able to show you all what I actually do. This is my recording studio at Reelgood Facilities where I create a lot of the adverts and tv programmes that you love or hate. What you can see in the center of the picture is my dcontrol mixing desk which is made by Digidesign and the Mac underneath runs an amazing bit of software found in almost every recording studio worldwide called protools.

So as you can see I am not a photographer, as so many believe, but a sound engineer who dabbles with photography.

Over the last few months a lot has been going on and one thing that has entered my head is to revamp this website. I am unsure weather to stick to it being a blog or not, and weather to keep the floating john/sofa thing around. I would love to hear from you guys as to what I should or could do to improve the site or should I leave well enough alone?

After the visit to the Battle of the Boyne site we decided to visit to Newgrange which is an amazing passage tomb. According to our tour guide Newgrange was constructed over 5,200 years ago (about 3,400 B.C.), making it older than Stonehenge in England and the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. Newgrange was built during the Neolithic or New Stone Age by a farming community that prospered on the rich lands of the Boyne Valley. Knowth and Dowth are similar mounds that together with Newgrange have been designated a World Heritage Site.

Peter Donegan once again came up trumps with another excellent Garden Group walk this time to the battle of the Boyne site near Drogheda. We got to see so much of the gardens that are still under restoration, more pictures can be seen on my Pixie account.

Another photo from the quiet spot near Kells of Clavens Bridge on the River Blackwater.

I have been noticing this pattern of nature/garden/landscapes pictures emerging, it must be a phase I am going through at present, or possibly its because the world looks like a beautiful place with the sun splitting the Irish skies and so much in bloom.

While around Kells in Co.Meath I was brought to this gem of a spot on the River Blackwater flowing through the Headfort Demesne at Clavens Bridge, and could not believe the amount of dragonflies and Damselflies scooting about the reeds. I was thrilled to actually capture this dragonfly before he took off, and love the details that suddenly appeared. If I had a fishing license and a fly rod with me I would have been in my element, lots of trout to be found around here!

A photograph taken in the gardens of Kilkenny Castle of the fountain in the middle of the formal rose gardens. This was taken while the sun attempted to burn away the looming raining clouds. The sun did not win in the end.

A photograph of the River Nore flowing past Kilkenny Castle, yes the procesing may not be to everyones taste but I dunno it just kinda made me go wow!

Last Thursday I was given an opportunity to take part in a photowalk at the Bloom 2010 show, I expected a lot of flowers, gardens and green fingers and I was not disappointed in that regard, but there was also amazing food and even better exhibitors there too. The sun was shining and the show gardens looked stunning.

This is a shot from on of the show gardens that really grabbed my fancy.
